also I have notice that around 4 character did not receive any chest key on map completion. another bug? or you decided to not give key on map completion and after decided to give key back again?
Keys are never a guaranteed drop for map completion. For non-city maps, you’ll always have a chance of either a transmutation charge or a black lion chest key (with a greater chance of getting a transmutation charge).
well on each map completion I have always receive a black lion key. on all my character on all map. except this new map that I have received on 4 or 5 of my 9 character. the 4 or 5 other did not receive some. I done like 3 charector or 4 not sure then noticed my other one did not receive one then my last one received one.
You should consider yourself lucky, then, because that’s exceptional RNG. But yeah, keys are never guaranteed, including for the new map.
Nope, can’t forge, salvage, or vendor them. Why? I have no idea, and it’s never made sense to me. At least with cultural armor you can sell back to vendor for a fraction of the original price. You can’t even do that with order armors/weapons. All we get to do is destroy them.

i LOVE THIS EPISODE SO FAR; JUST WISH THERE WAS A WAY FOR MY DRAGON HUNTER TO KILL THE OPPONENT IN BITTER COLD. aS FAR AS I KNOW DRAGON HUNTERS DON’T DO PLANT MAGIC OR DEATH MAGIC; SEEING AS THIS MOB IS INVULNERBLE TO MOST DAMAGE EXCEPT THE PREVIOUS STATEMENT.
In case you didn’t know, there aren’t really “magic” types as far as attacks go, and there aren’t any mobs (that I’m aware of) that won’t take damage from certain types of attacks. As for hitting the boss for that step, you have to get him to follow you to the groups of grubs. Once he's next to you and next to the grubs, kill the grubs; doing this will damage the boss. Keep doing that until he's dead.
I’m not sure that “exploiting” and “displaying their skills” are mutually exclusive notions. You can be skilled at playing and still choose to use exploits (for whatever reason you’ve created in your mind). You can be skilled at finding exploits and abusing them. You could also just be a crappy player, find out about an exploit, and monkey-see-monkey-do it. Also, it is good to note that “exploit” often means different things to different people.

That is odd. I checked my account, just to be sure, and none of mine are missing (including the Wintersday gift box). It’s probably worth submitting a support ticket to see what’s going on.
Yup, what Stitch said. The grubs damage the boss when they die. So, don’t kill the groups of grubs unless the boss is next to you/the grubs.
Yes, you have to buy certain LS chapters in order to unlock certain Carapace Armor set skins. You have to have Point of No Return (for the headpiece), Echoes of The Past (for the shoulders), and Seeds of Truth (for the legs, as you already know). You could farm gold to buy them that way, or you could spend actual money.
The boots can be bought from the vendor once you unlock them (easy achievement involving the skritt does that), and the chest drops from vinewraith (as you already know). Tangled Paths (another LS chapter) is a guaranteed glove unlock, but you could also opt to do the Silverwastes pvp reward track or just get lucky and get it from a bandit chest/greater nightmare pod.

My guess is the 13th, with an announcement for it on the 6th. My son is also excited for Wintersday; he loves watching me do the JP and enjoys doing the bell choir activity.
This stuff clogs up my inventory for no good reason. It’s rarer to get than a tome of knowledge yet you NEED 20 OF THIS STUFF to get ONE tome of knowledge.
-let this stuff get stored in the account currencies tab
-make it so that only 10 is required to get a tome of knowledge
They’re not a currency, so I don’t see them ever being added to the currencies tab. And the writs give you 5% of a level, which is why it takes 20 of them to make one tome of knowledge.
I know this is an old thread but I’ll comment here in the hopes someone is still reading this
Hey, I am a returning player to the game. Apparently I stopped playing before the patch which replaced all of the cultivated seeds into pet seeds, and now I have somehow pet seedling, even though I need the cultivated seed. It seems that I was confused and planted the pet seed in the chaos pot because this is what I was instructed to do. Is there any way to split it back into pet seed and chaos pot so that I can exchange the pet seed into cultivated seed? Otherwise my progression is stuckThanks!
The cultivated seed makes the second version of the back item. The pet seed makes the third/final version and the bloodstone dust eater. So, unless you just really wanted to take the extra step of making the Cultivated Vine step, you can just work on the pet seed and not worry about the cultivated seed.
I believe this is mentioned in the update notes… Many players, including myself, preferred “hearts” and therefore map completion staying at 100% after Anet started using “hearts” as “dailies” with LS3.
As in Ember Bay many players seemed to moan about " map completion" disappearing after map completion…
Hope that made sense..No, Look at the picture again. Let me help it says in the top corner 4 hearts of 4 hearts complete when if you look none are complete, To make it more clear I had not gone to that map for over 24 hours. Yesterday it was borked like that as well except it was 3 of 4 hearts complete and I hadn’t been in there for a few days, yet none of the hearts were done. The map is bugged out and still can’t buy the firestone.
The icons in the top left are the map completion icons. They show as 4/4 done because you’ve finished them once to get credit for the hearts on the map; those will always show as completed. The heart icons on the main part of the map will reset every day because they’re repeatable, which is why they’re shown as incomplete for you (since you hadn’t been in there to finish the tasks that day).
While I think it’d be awesome, I have to agree with Randulf and say there’s not much a chance of it happening.
Also still not working for me.
What Inculpatus said. It should be the very last item on the vendor’s list of items, and it costs 0 favors.
You’re welcome. And if it’s not mentioned on the wiki, feel free to make note of it there yourself; it’s edited by the players, and info like that is indeed good to know for when we get lost.
Why isn’t there an option to begin a duel with someone in PVE?
Because from day 1 of Guild Wars 2 PvE was designed specifically with it being Co-Op mode only.
Just throwing this out there, but…..the only things I see as Co-Op in this game are the dungeons, fractals, and raids. That list can be shortened as it is very simple to solo dungeons and fractals (both I have soloed, highest fractal being 76). If the PvE is suppose to be completely Co-Op, then shouldn’t everything be harder?
What penelope means by “co-op” is “not making players compete with others to get things done”, rather than “only playable with other players”.
The area you need to reach is under the city. If you go to the waypoint inside the city and look around that central room, you’ll see a big hole in the ground. Jump down into the hole, and then take the tunnel that leads to the room marked on your map.
Just so we’re clear here, the tokens won’t be a physical item you get. They’re automatically deposited into your account wallet when you open the bag.
Seriously great armor skins you have there, OP. Just looking at you makes me feel more festive.
Why not just use it on an alt that’s not 80, even if you hardly play them? Or if they’re all 80, just make a random new character and boost it. Then you’ll have your empty slot.
I’m commenting just not to complain, but to bump this back up on the threads so hopefully it will help at least one other player in the future.. Lesson of the day: “materials” is a very specific meaning in GW2, so read carefully any time you see it referenced.
I just made the exact same mistake.. I’ve been saving up gold in the game for so long and thought it was finally time to treat myself and buy something from the trading post. There’s so many other things I would have rather spent weeks worth of gold on. It’s frustrating and disgruntling at the very least.
Try contacting support. They may be able to give you a refund and remove the item you accidentally bought.
why can you combine 4 of anything up to rares in the Forge, but you can’t mix armor and weapons once you hit exotic?
For the same reason why we can’t forge for exotic runes/sigils: for no reason that we quite understand.
Could you take and post a screenshot of the items in your inventory you’re trying to salvage?
This looks to be fun. While I didn’t LOVE the whole Tower of Nightmares thing, I do like seeing the old LS1 content come back in some form.
As far as I know, the boxes of class gear aren’t on the loot table for Bloodstone Fen’s map completion; instead, the reward is closer to old Tyria map rewards (piece of exotic gear, bloodstone rubies, and trans charge/key).
I like it. Considering the first legendary shield was a serious one, rather than a joke, it seems fitting that the second should be more jokey (Quip/Hope, Dreamer/Chuk Chump, Bifrost/Nevermore etc.)
I hope you mean Bifrost for staff because nevermore seems more of a serious type legendary which’s lore is deeply embedded in Norn culture.
I think you mean the opposite http://norse-mythology.org/cosmology/bifrost/
The Bifrost in GW2 (like all of the other base game legendaries) has no lore behind it. The Nevermore one does have some lore, and it’s based on Norn culture (specifically the Raven spirit).
so make it a black lion set, and do 1 for every race on the world of tyria. you get your silly weapons, and you dont kitten all over the Legendary scheme
Anet wanted to make this a legendary weapon, and many people seem to like the idea. Obviously, not everyone will care for it, and that’s cool, too. But it’s already happened (probably, unless this does somehow end up being a gem store skin).
i hate all three of you. if it was a black lion set that was fun and silly, i would stand behind that and probably get all of them, like i did the Improvised set that was hilarious. but not as a LEGENDARY. way to cheapen it.
I just have no problem with silly legendary weapons (obviously). My second legendary was Moot, and it’s still one of my favorite weapons in the game. In the case of a hypothetical skritt GS, we already have three “serious” GS from the base game set; having a fourth, silly one wouldn’t hurt anything and would appeal to those who appreciate a good skritt.
Ugh, ignore my original statement. I’m slow today.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
whats next, a legendary GS thats just 5 skritt in a trench coat?
This is the single greatest idea for a weapon ever. It must become a reality!
I would do anything to get such a GS.
Under the collections system, I’d have gone for this regardless of whether I’d use the skin. There would have a lot of potential for some fun collections and exploring more Quaggan lore.
As it is, I’ll skip it entirely.
I’ll bet some poor dev had a nice outline for the story all set before the scrapped the Collections for Legendaries.
Yeah. Makes me a little sad when I think we won’t get to see all the fun stories tied to the new legendaries (and sad for the person(s) who created them), but I can also completely understand why they have decided to not go that route now.
Why do people always make changes like this to be more important then things in the core game? It seems kind of like an entitled attitude and nitpicking at this point.
I’m pretty sure no one said this needs to be fixed right away, before any other issues are addressed. They’re just making a suggestion.
1. The transfer cost depends on the population of the server (regardless of whether it’s EU or NA). The Very High servers cost 1800 gems, High is 1000, and Medium is 500.
2. Your bank, currency amounts, and inventory won’t be changed in any way. The TP on EU is the same as the TP on NA, so no change there, either.
I don’t play on EU servers, so I can’t answer your last three questions.
Unless that instance has changed since I did it, they’re definitely soloable (almost easily soloable). They are tedious, for sure, though.
Necro is way tanky, but it’s not your “sword and board” tank.
I honestly just started vendoring all of the stuff that wasn’t candy corn or special items. You can’t buy anything good with the nougats or anything, anyway.
I don’t get why anyone would need to delete all their characters just to choose a realm/world to play on. Is that a real thing?
Yes. If you have no characters on your account, you can transfer servers for free as long as the server you want isn’t full.
Amazon, some GameStops, some Walmarts, some Targets, and some Best Buys all still carry the physical cards (as well as sometimes sell just the digital code).
Yes, the second paw is now just vendor trash; there’s no need to keep it. And the salvage warning is, indeed, just a courtesy warning so that you don’t accidentally salvage gear you might want to keep. There’s no need to keep them if you’ve outleveled them/gotten something better.
P.S. Since when the word “h ole”, meaning “opening” is being considered vulgar so as to replace it with “kitten”?!? You can’t be serious!
It’s probably because “hole” was preceded by the letters “as”.
I laughed so hard when I saw it. Only thing it’s missing is a stack of alcohol.
Crafting the pieces doesn’t unlock them. You have to bind them (equip them or right click and choose “unlock in wardrobe”) to unlock the skin. If you’ve not done that, then that’s why they’re showing up as locked.
Now, if you’re absolutely sure you’ve equipped/unlocked the skin that way since the Wardrobe went in, then yeah, you might want to contact support.

This timeline from the wiki is handy for a general reference.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Timeline
There’s also quite a few articles on the GW1 wiki about the various big events from Tyria’s past. A good starting point is linked below.
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/History_of_Tyria
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lore
And the GW2 wiki lore page adds a bit more.
No DR, just RNG. You got very lucky once and then had the typical experience (not so lucky) for the next 950g you gambled.
I’d just start making the daily cooldown item as soon as you can, so you can be saving it up.
If you have a trusted guildies/friends in-game, you could “buy” their daily cooldown from them by giving them the mats required to make the material you need. For example for buying their cooldown for deldrimor steel ingots: you’d send them 50 mithril ingots, 1 ecto, and 10 thermocatalytic reagents (for the account bound daily crafted item); and you’d send 20 iron ingots, 10 steel ingots, and 20 darksteel ingots for them to make the deldrimor steel ingot. Then they send the deldrimor steel ingot to you.
There’s no bug. That glider is not guaranteed to drop after 10 chests (or after any particular number of them). If you keep opening chests, you might eventually get it. Or you might not ever get it. It’s up to you to determine if it’s worth the money/time.
I’m not happy that 1 of the 3 rewards was a guaranteed ToT bag. I don’t want to sound greedy but… really?
This. I was excited for the changes until I saw that the seasonal item is no longer a bonus item and, instead, is permanently in the third slot. That soured it a bit, for me.
In case you’re not aware, you get the Spirit of the Zap Experiment by salvaging the Zap Experiment. So, check to see if you still have the Zap Experiment weapon on your character(s); if it’s there, then all you need to do is salvage it.
