Are you trying to craft the inscription or craft a weapon with that inscription? You don’t use the Discovery tab to make either one. For the inscription, you need the recipe for the Minstrel’s inscription. To make a weapon with it, you need the recipe for the weapon you’re planning to make. Once you learn the recipe, you’ll craft it in the Production tab of the crafting UI.
Yes, it was a deliberate slight against your choice. Clearly.
The crafting interface doesn’t require you to run to the bank because it is the bank, and so it’s connected to the contents of your bank/collection materials. I’d personally like for the Mystic Forge to be the same way, but I figure there’s probably a good reason why it’s not that way.
Just to vouch for it: I, too, use the Google Authenticator. I think I’ve been using it for over a year now, and I’ve had no trouble at all with it.
I did a couple last night, and while several golems did pick up the energy, the events were completed fine. But if they’re failing this much now, yeah, things might need to be reassessed and fixed in a different way.
Ah, so this is just a troll post. Good to know.
nop im being totally serious how is me wanting anet to be strict on people who break their rules a troll post ?
Saying you want to make it so players can’t send items or gold to other people just sounds trolly, as does saying “If Anet REALLY wanted to stop gold sellers, they’d do this”. Anet already does what they can to stop gold sellers. They read reports of gold selling, and they ban the accounts. And we help in that by reporting them when we see them.
And people who buy gems repeatedly probably do sometimes get banned, but usually (as of the past year or so) Anet just removes the gold they bought and tells them to not do it again.
“people who buy gems repeatedly probably do sometimes get banned” lol and you are ok with this in the end you have your opinion i have mine and mine is ban all gold sellers /buyers.
Yeah, I’m fine with the buyers having the gold taken away and possibly being banned for repeated rule breaking. I’d also be fine with banning gold sellers/buyers. I’ll never be fine with restricting player-to-player mailing of items, though.
I like having Sylvari as mesmer and ranger.
1 Sylvari mesmer
1 Sylvari ranger
1 Sylvari neromancer
1 Charr elementalist
1 Charr warrior
1 Human warrior
1 Human necromancer
1 Human thief
1 Human engineer
1 Asura guardian
1 Asura ranger
1 Norn guardian
I used to have a Norn thief and a Norn ranger, but I replaced those with my Human thief and Sylvari ranger.

Yes, but it’s only available on the gem store. A black lion kit would destroy the item the upgrade is in, but it has a 100% chance to get the upgrade out.
Ah, so this is just a troll post. Good to know.
So, how would we help our friends out, if we could not give them some gold/coin?
a small sacrifice to stop gold sellers.
That’s a large sacrifice. Sorry, but I just think that’s the wrong way to go about stopping gold sellers. Besides, they already send items in place of gold; that started back when Anet added the weekly gold from mail/guild bank cap.
As others already said, a person should be able to take an extended time away from the game without worrying that their character names will be erased in their absence. Generally speaking, I think the naming system is fine as it is.
I’m sorry, but after following your link I started to fill it out, but they wanted way too much information. I don’t trust it. It wants information that could be used to steal my account if the link you gave me is fraudulent. There should be a way to do this in the game or from the forums after logging in that accepts my logging into the forums or the game as sufficient proof of who I am.
The link they gave you is the link to Anet’s support. That’s how you create a support ticket, and they ask for that much information so you prove who you are when you create the ticket.
I just did one, and most of the energy objects are definitely player-specific now. Some either despawn after a certain time or aren’t instanced, though, because I had several that would disappear as myself and another player ran up to them, and the other player would walk away with one while it would disappear on my screen. But, generally speaking, it’s far far better now.
Will do, Gaile. And thanks again to the team in charge of the fix for making it a priority.
A new patch is about to go in. From the notes:
“The “Defeat the Inquest to prevent them from capturing the Ley-Energy Coalescence” event will now create player-specific versions of the ley-energy items to reduce competition.”
Hopefully that will be the end of the problem.
You can only get one Encoded Orders item per day.
I don’t think you understand what cooperation means. If an event asked you to do a synchronized dance as 10 people, by pressing same buttons at same time, that’s cooperation. Competitiveness is how well you fare against a baseline or current players, which is being tested in a raid. It is normal to be afraid of it, because if you are below the average skill level, you will be at a disadvantage, but for elite PVE players that is not a problem, which is the tier that should be rewarded for outperforming the lower skill levels.
In the case of raids, in most roles, your class and your ability to remember a skill rotation are what’s needed and being tested. Your actual playing and thinking skills will have very little to do with it.
Thanks for the link, Siobhan. As usual, I wish they’d post such things on the official forums as well as over on reddit, but that’s another story for another day.
Hi all,
This is confusing. I have defeated all five of the champions and some I have defeated multiple times. I have 3 of the four achievements completed. But I have 0 of 3 credits in the bounty hunter achievement. Not sure what I am suppose to do to get credit for the bounty hunter achievement. Can any one explain clearly how it is done?
1. Kill bandits (any bandits anywhere in the game) until you get an Encoded Orders item drop.
2. Double click on the item to see where you need to take the Orders (an NPC in Divinity’s Reach).
3. Go to DR, and talk to the NPC. The NPC will give you a bounty ticket with your bounty’s name on it.
4. Double click on the bounty ticket to see where your bounty is located, and then go to the waypoint closest to your bounty.
5. Run to the bounty location, and wait for it to spawn.
Repeat this every day until you’ve done it enough to complete the achievement.
No.
But NPCs are also picking up the ley energy before players can even get to them, which means (obviously) there are even fewer items to collect for the achievements.
I can’t confirm this (due to the mad dash-and-grab nature of other players), but it seems like if an NPC grabs the item and you kill that NPC they drop the ley energy and you or any other player can then claim it.
No, I don’t mean the hostile NPCs. Those do pick them up, but as you said, you can kill them and pick them up again (if someone doesn’t grab it first). I mean the FRIENDLY NPCs are picking them up. If the friendly NPCs grab one, a mob will have to kill said NPC before it gets to the collector for a player to have a chance to grab it again, but then the NPC’s revivable corpse will be on top of the item, making it a bit of a pain to click on or pick up with F. :\
They actually changed it to require killing him now? Last time I ran P1 my friends already finished that part. :P
As far as I know, you can still skip him on P1.
I ran CM 1 with a group of half-newbies just after reset, and we killed him the first try through. Even after someone accidentally pulled him as we were clearing the adds. So, yeah, he’s definitely not impossible. Clear all the mobs in the hallway and rooms, and clear the turrets in the rooms. Then clear all of the turrets in the boss room before focusing on him. Once you’re fighting him, keep some space and dodge his very well-telegraphed big attack, or do your best to stay behind him the whole time. It’s very doable; you just need to learn the fight.
I went with The Unbroken just to get away from the Noun’s Noun format. It was that or Dragon’s Watch to go with what the group has formed to do. Eternity’s Guard seemed just too grandiose for a ragtag bunch of youths.
“watch” is a noun?
Well, the tiny clock you can wear on your wrist or on a chain is called a “watch”. And a “watch” can also mean the act of observing/protecting a person, place, or thing. So, yup. Noun and verb.
They’re also swirling around Evon Gnashblade’s Asura gate in the back of the Vault.
I’d rather get a tome of knowledge than another bank express, merchant express, or TP merchant.
I got around 40 in 2-3 hours. You just need to follow the ley line champ and take care for its animations, as they indicate the direction where it throws its ley line balls.
Indeed. But if you and 20 other people are all doing that very thing, only one of you is going to luck out for each ball it throws, which is frustrating. Plus, if it lands on an npc, the npc will grab it. And then there’s the ping issue that someone else mentioned.

Yeah, even if you manage to get the group to not kill quite as fast, there still aren’t nearly enough of the energy items to go around.
So, two of the achievements added today require you to pick up Ley Energy items off the ground and turn them into the converter/machine/thing during the inquest events. As it is right now, it is really difficult to pick up more than maybe two or three of these per event (unless you just get lucky and no one else is standing near you when they spawn). This is partially because of the large number of players currently doing the events. But hostile AND friendly NPCs are also picking up the ley energy before players can even get to them, which means (obviously) there are even fewer items to collect for the achievements.
This isn’t an EXTREMELY important thing at all, I know. Plus, I’d imagine it’s not a quick thing to change, but I think the friendly NPCs shouldn’t be able to pick up event items players need for achievements.

I got mine last night.
Does Hearts and Minds still reset all the way to the beginning if failed?
I haven’t tried since the patch, but I would imagine it does still.
I’m hoping this is substantially different from the template they used the past two times.
Hate to disappoint you, but it’s the same template. And even the same kind of event as the first leyline events.
Anet already said that you will need to have HoT to do LS3, since it’ll likely take place at least partially in the HoT zones. I don’t think they’ve said for sure yet how they’ll be releasing the episodes, but it seems like it will be another “Log in during this time, and you’ll unlock it for free” thing. As for if you can log in to unlock it before buying HoT, I’m not sure, but I’d imagine that wouldn’t work.
I just unlocked the boots today and the only reason i am asking this is because I was contemplating on what set to finish first and couldn’t see what the back item on the Hellfire was.
Well, someone said it’s available for preview in the bank. So, you can check it out there and even post a screenshot to the wiki, if you feel up to it.
Yeah, if they were to ever bring it back, it’ll probably be different due to what happened in LS 2.
Yeah, I just checked for myself, and it’s definitely way darker than it was before even in Fullscreen. You can see better with the gamma turned up closer to max, but it’s still different from how it was before.
Ok congrats on changing the wording blue, can you add the image now also?
The wiki is edited by anyone who wants to. You’re more than welcome to go take a screenshot of the back and post it to the wiki page, if no one else has yet.
First as many have mentioned, verbal abuse is never apropriate. Report and/or block people who do this.
Second I do sense a certain attitude problem coming from your side.
If you are so versed in the exact mechanics of the Tequatle fight you’d know how the turrret events scale, meaning 1-2 people more than needed causes elite and eventually champion enemys to spawn. Which in turn requires more dedication than the standard 2 groups devoted to them. You intentionally sabotaging or negatively impacting the success of the world boss fight will draw hate from other players.
There is always 2 sides to each argument. If you are so fond of running the defensive teams/turrets, make this known early on and join one of the defensive squads. Those positions are usually the last to fill. Barging in at the last minute and demanding you get a spot on these events will get exactly the reaction you have been experiencing.
Yup, all of this.
I hope it is towards LS3 – though I think it could be towards a Raid Wing, considering where that portal’s location near the bandit bridge (and a new zone from there would run parallel to the other two wings) – though I know that portal has been there since I think before LS2, so I could be wrong on that.
Yeah, that portal was there by 2012. So, who knows what they intend to do with it? I hope we do get to do something with it at some point, though.
Did your booster character leave Silverwastes without fully consuming the Level 80 Booster?
I’m pretty sure it’s either people trolling or people just being confused. There’s no event that happens if you fail any of the little pre-events; the timer would just keep going until it runs out, and then Brogun would go back to his waiting area until the next round of the mini-chain. Now, I don’t know if all of that is 100% true now. I do remember back when the event would sometimes fail (on off peak hours, back before megaservers), and nothing special would happen if any of the events failed.
The original expression is, “he’s got another thing coming.” Over the years, people have misheard it and misread it as, “he’s got another think coming.” Grammarians are still arguing about whether the new phrasing (a) works and (b) should be considered ‘standard’ now.
You have it backwards. It was originally “another think coming”, and it’s been turned into “thing” over the years.
I didn’t even know you could just pass minis around in the past (and judging by the fact that you “had to get it from a friend” suggests it was hardly obtainable even back then, let alone now).
No, it was fairly obtainable back then. I knew several people who got it as a drop, and I knew a few more who just bought it. The set 1 mini pack was on sale in the gem store still, and so people were getting the more often. Since the pack is no longer on sale, your only options are to get extremely luck with the Toy Miniature Egg from Black Lion Chests (gives you a random mini from sets 1, 2, and 3) or buy on the gem store. Hence the price raise, until people decide to dump more.
3 times in this game alone. Only once in wow and we found out who it was. So meh.
And no now one knows the log in to my email and such. I change passwords once every 2 weeks. . . But it’s over. I was making a statement. That be that.
Back to work now. Ta
That’s very strange that you were hacked that many times without doing something such as buying gold from a third party. Honestly, if I were you, I’d contact support even if it has been a long time just to see if they can help find why you’re this vulnerable to hacking.
Why bother. It’s has been a year or so. Other account dosnt have HoT or anything. Of value on it?
Well, you brought it up, so . . .
But also because I was never happy with how we left things. I thought it was a mistake to let Palawa Joko loose, especially after he immediately started building up his army again (and we actually helped him do it!). I’d really like the opportunity to put right all the things we messed up there.
Me too. I’d love to go back to Elona and follow up with all of that.
Yes. Posted multiple tickets each time. Nothing came of it. So.. it is what it is..
Well, you only need to post one ticket. Posting multiples basically means you won’t get a response (or at least not one anytime soon). Honestly, if you contact them now (one ticket) about that hacked account, you could probably have it restored.
I have had to get 3 separate accounts. Because I have been hacked and nothing was done.. I mean heck.. in the 6 plus years I played wow.. that never happened. . . . I’m sorry they hacked me 1 time. Someone at bliz felt bad enough about 1 single player. He sent me 25k in gold money, not to mention the authenticator and 4 months of wow they paid for me.. it takes 4 days to hear back from ya..
Did you put in a proper support ticket when you got hacked on your first account? I mean, I’ve never heard of support never getting back to someone, especially for a hacked account issue. Anytime someone has claimed that, it was a case of the response getting sent to the player’s Spam folder or that they submitted a Bug Report instead of a support ticket.
