And like I siaed, i think that 4 years early access and freebies is enough honor. they can make GW2 only players work hard for what you got for free, why do care so much?
We didn’t get it for free. We bought GW1 (many of us all three campaigns and then the expansion), and we also bought GW2. We also farmed (mats, gold, minis, missions, vanquishing and HM, pvp, etc.) to earn all of our HoM points. No one got them for free.
They are already doing LW3 its in raids! Oh you dont wanna raid, or have the gear to raid? Well too kittening bad! Better start kittening preparing yoruself. Anet new goal is to only do raids! Don’t believe me? well been almost a year and the only kittening content you get was raids. Oh sure they fix bugs in updates but I am talking about updates.
The content drought outside of raids has been very disappointing, but your rant is wrong. They’ve always said LS3 is actively in the works, and they said it will be coming after the 3rd raid wing release (which was two weeks ago). Raid story isn’t LS3, and it was never intended to be. Plus, every two weeks for the past couple of months, we’ve been getting small bits of story leading up to LS3. It’s not much, but it’s something, at least.

Correcting the title to read: Fields of Ruin Glitched Harpies* might get Anet’s attention a little faster.
That being said, yes, I can confirm what you pointed out in your OP. Those Harpies deal way too much damage.
Yeah. They’re spawning as level 80/81 mobs, and we’re downleveld to 39. That’s why they’re doing too much damage.
Those of us who have access to these skins and minis earned it. You can earn the rewards (as many or as few as you want) by doing the same thing everyone else did: buy the game and EOTN, and earn the rewards. Plenty of people still farm things in GW1. You can look on the GW1 reddit for tips and help from players if you need it.
Did you do the previous events (particularly, did you find a lodestone by killing dragon minions and then turn it in to Ela Makkay)? Also, is your mail full?
The bird legs bother me on both human males and human females.
If the WP is open, then you missed the event in question. Or at least that’s how I thought it worked. The event you need is the very first thing that will happen once all of the Gerent stuff is done. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bring_golem_parts_to_Agent_Zildi
I get that some people find it inconvenient, but they want people who join WvW maps to be doing that content. If you only went to a WvW map to craft and leave, you obviously weren’t interested in WvW (at that moment), so you really don’t need to be there.
The change actually makes sense.
That’s how I feel about it, too. People popping in to just use the crafting stations were taking up spots that actual wvw players need available in order to play; this would be especially bad when people would basically park a character at the crafting station and just mess around there for an extended periods of time. This isn’t a huge issue for all servers at all times, but it was an issue often enough.
Edit: A banker is being added to the maps as a compromise. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Removed-crafting-stations-and-vendors/page/3#post6224291

I haven’t gotten an ascended drop from a first tier fractal. And still, telling people that the gear they want is accessible from content that requires the gear they don’t currently have is weird advice at best.
When I mentioned the higher level fractals having a chance for ascended gear, it was just sharing information. I didn’t mean it as “Oh hey, go do fractals right now”; I meant it more that once OP has made one or two ascended gear pieces (they could pretty easily do t1 and even some t2, as long as they have ascended accessories, now) they could try out doing the t3 fractals to get more pieces. And, while they’re trying their luck with RNG, they’ll also be getting better at fractals, getting more karma, and getting gold.
That was my first thought as well: they wanna sell airship passes.
It’s stupid but it made me lose the little faith I had left in the company. I so miss the good ole GW1 days…
EDIT – I REALLY hope it’s a bug.
Airship passes don’t hold your spot in your old map; they take you to a different pve map. And it’s not a bug; it was even included in the patch notes.
Zerg events starting every 2 hours… have time to play when we want you to or gtfo…
GG, seems as if the guys @ Arena.Net have forgotten every lesson learned.
I hope that’s not what we can expect from LS3, the way LS2 was rolled out was perfect (instanced content available 24/7 to everyone as long as you managed to log in at least once within 2 weeks), but somehow I have a really bad feeling about it…It happens every 2 hours. The events take 15-20 minutes. The events won’t disappear anytime soon, either; the older events from the past couple of months are all still there, too. It’s not as though Anet is only making the event a one-time thing; you have plenty of time to catch it.
2 hours is a long time. If your free time falls within those 2 hours (so between the events) you’re SOL.
Well, if you can’t find a way to set aside the 20 minutes for the events (which will occur at the same time, 20 minutes past the hour every 2 hours, 12 times a day for a number of weeks, most likely), then yeah, I guess you’re going to be SOL. Anet can’t schedule things to fit to every player’s schedule. People even missed out on certain LS2 episodes because they didn’t/couldn’t log in during the 2 weeks the episode was available for free.

I don’t think you can change breather stats in the forge like that. I think you’d have to just buy the recipe and craft it. If there’s not a recipe for it, then it might be a bug or might not be released yet.
Have you been doing the other events that have been released over the past month or so? I believe you have to have done at least part of them to get the mail notifications when new ones come out. Also, make sure your mail isn’t full.
I’d love to have different textured hair options on human females.
Hm. I’m not sure if I notice a real similarity, at least not enough so to call it a leitmotif, other than the counterpoint in the lower strings. But the first two examples, at least, are similar enough that it seems like it could be close to a “theme” of sorts.
You guys mean to tell me all gem shop gathering tools are supposed to work on all characters simultaneously without having to juggle the tool between characters?
No. You only get one per purchase. You have to juggle them around no matter what (or put them in shared inventory slots).
That’s why I was comparing it to the new items like the cosmic mining tool, which becomes your standard mining item for all characters at once, not just one at a time.
I don’t think that is the case. I don’t have the Cosmic, but I was under the impression that it was a single item that needs to be equipped to be used, so even though all your characters can use it only one can use it at a time.
Unless I’m incorectly reading both the in game description of the item in the gem shop and the description on the gw2 wiki, I’m pretty sure it works simultaneously on all characters.
It doesn’t. The cosmic mining tool came out weeks ago. If that change had come with it, there would be rage posts all over reddit and the forums about it. Plus, the description says: “This tool replaces your mining pick on any character.” That’s the same thing it says on the firefly one and some others. It just means you can use it on any character, not that you can use it on all characters without moving it.

No it doesn’t. It’s the same as all the others. One item, usable by “any” character.

What? I think you’re misunderstanding something here. All of the gem store gathering tools are account bound. Old ones were soulbound, but you were able to switch them over once the change went in. There’s no difference between them other than cosmetics (and the fact that the watchwork one gives sprockets).
Tried doing this event for over an hour. Ended up just logging out. 3 years and Anet still designs crap events.
As was said above, it’s every 2 hours. Last event was an hour and 16 minutes ago (at 1:20pm central time). Next one is in less than an hour.
Yup, spawned at 20 after. Events are just every 2 hours.
Sitting in a map with someone who is apparently an Anet employee. They said the event is meant to happen at 20 minutes past every odd hour (Pacific time). So, I guess check in in about 10 minutes.
Edit: Said person also mentioned that there IS a bug that can make the event “break” if there are “too many people”.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
Are you waiting around on the same map, or are you clicking on the lodestones to see which map it says to go to? If it’s the latter, then yeah, something might be bugged. If you’re just sitting in the same map from the first run, then it might not be a bug.
Yeah, the bug seems to be that if you put your Shared Inventory slots to the bottom, it’ll make you crash upon attempting to look at Material Storage.
I prefer getting a gift for every character’s birthday, just as I did/do in GW1.
Running an part ascended part orange beserker geared s/a reaper with scholar and ascended accessories. It can take on a few normal mobs and a veteran at best.
What do you mean by “s/a”? Staff and then just axe as your other weapon? That’s not a good combo for wanting to do good damage. Axe is fun and gives a nice semi-ranged option, but it’s damage isn’t nearly as good as a dagger for a berserker/power build. I’d opt for dagger/dagger or dagger/focus, and then either use greatsword (most preferred for me), followed by scepter/dagger or staff (depending on if you think you’ll need really far range or if you’re uncomfortable with that much melee at first). What kind of trait set up are you running? What utility skills are you using? Are you using food or utility buffs?
I used to exclusively run a power necro build, but since condi necros are actually pretty good now (particularly for raids and fractals), I switched to the meta condi build; it works really well for me in HoT. In the open world I also sometimes just combine the two trait builds (and switching between my condi and zerker accessories and weapons, usually) just so I can have the passive 25% running speed boost while carrying a dagger. Both the full condi build and the hybrid work very well for me in all HoT content.
The personal story is unlocked every 10 levels. The story step you just completed (picking a race to help) is the end of the level 40 story; you won’t unlock the next step until you reach level 50.
Did you do a full relog of the game? Usually you have to relog for those changes to take place.
I believe you misunderstand. The persistent maps should always reflect the present conditions and circumstances of the world. There is nothing fracturing the population as there is not multiple persistent stats of one or more zones. All players do hearts, waypoints, POIs, vistas, events in the map as a reflection of the present conditions and circumstances or the map and world.
The past gets encapsulated into story telling instances much like the existing personal story and story two. In some parts of of story one an entire zone would have a story instance to tell the story as the content of that chapter spanned a whole zone. See my above as brief as possible concept of story one as story instances for the story journal. The only difference being that some are made to be group story instances and such as outlined in my reply about each chapter.
What Teko is talking about would have to split up the population unless Anet has a way to have multiple different instances of the same map share population.
“I think they need to take a cue from GW1 with the Pre/Post searing. As a character’s story evolves the instances of the maps they get should change. They need to scrub references to characters who die from maps unless it’s an story instance. If you have killed Zhaitan then you should get the affected maps that reflect his demise.”
To be like GW1 (and using the Zhaitan example), that would mean that Orr would have two different versions: one for pre-kill and one for post-kill. Done like GW1, pre-kill players would not be able to interact with post-kill players because they would be in a different set of town and explorable map instances. If they tried to do it more like GW2, though, I’m having trouble seeing how the two different story-progression groups would be able to play alongside eachother. Otherwise, you’d just be in a solo story instance for an entire map’s worth of content, which just seems very much the opposite of what Anet was going for in GW2.
I’m not going to watch, but as for your points:
I’m content with how rallying works currently. The discrepancy between the various class downed state skills is a bit bothersome, but that’s kind of off topic.
In terms of the game’s definition of Healing, you’re not healing someone when you’re reviving them, so I don’t see why Healing Power should factor into it. There are certain class traits and a Mastery line that make you revive allies faster.
I don’t think the OOC regen is a bad thing, and I personally don’t want to see it change.
I don’t miss having to have a tank to do most group content. I would like to see a more uniform and across the board guideline for how to maintain aggro, though.

I think they need to take a cue from GW1 with the Pre/Post searing. As a character’s story evolves the instances of the maps they get should change. They need to scrub references to characters who die from maps unless it’s an story instance. If you have killed Zhaitan then you should get the affected maps that reflect his demise. It would make for interesting stories in Orr as factions via for control of the map. They could have some residual forces of Zhaitan trying to establish a power base around some lesser dragons. If someone didn’t do LWS1 then they should get old LA. If they have but not some rebuild story then they get the trashed one, etc. That IMHO is a living world.
The problem with this idea is it would cut down map populations even more than they already are. This would be especially problematic in already-lower-population zones such as Kessex Hills (which had the Tower of Nightmares stuff from S1) and Lornar’s Pass (Marionette). So, to make that work, entire zones would have to become solo (or Party) instances like they were in GW1, which is what Anet tried to avoid when doing GW2; they want open world with other players in all zones rather than personalized instances for every explorable area.
The guy said he already “deleted his email” and switched to a randomized password. So, I don’t think he’ll see any of your responses.

1k in Guild Stash, 1k in Treasure Trove, and 1k in Deep Cave. Keep in mind that you can only take out 500g, from the guild bank and your mail combined, per week.
Yeah, sounds like you want to play GW1.
Certain dailies (the Vista viewer ones, I believe) give you vials of karma, so do dailies that drop those. Do Tequatl when you can. Do event trains in Cursed Shore. Do Fractals. Higher level fractals also have a semi-decent chance of getting you ascended gear as drops.
And yeah, if you have HoT, you can get an ascended weapon for each new elite spec by doing the collection achievements connected to each one.
Once the Gerent is killed and the timer runs out, the map resets back to it’s previous state; there aren’t any events that happen once the Gerent is killed but before the timer runs out. The enraged chak event you need happens at the Ogre Camp after the previous event (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Destroy_ley-energy_combs_to_release_ley-energy ) finishes. So, once that part of the chain is done, just take yourself back to the camp, and wait for the follow-up event to happen.
“Note: Only 30 keys can be purchased daily for 20 silver each, and another daily 30 keys for 25 silver and 4 copper each. Past 60 keys, any further keys purchased will cost 30 silver each. "
Warmaster Chan and his accompanying NPCs are refusing to move from their starting location. IP is 64.25.38.118. Obviously, this keeps the Arah meta chain from starting up.
You’re in the wrong (old) location. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Juvenile_Electric_Wyvern
“In Dragon’s Stand at the Wyvern Nest point of interest in the center of the Wyvern Scar region. The Juvenile Electric Wyvern can be found here once the Pact establish control of the Central Advance Camp located at Third Central Checkpoint. Masteries are not required to reach the wyvern nest. Central Advance Camp Waypoint — [&BFMIAAA=] is the most convenient waypoint to use.
Note: This pet is no longer found at the Serenity’s Cove point of interest in Dragon’s Stand, although it was originally found at this location. "
Are you sure you’re not confusing the champion fights with the legendary fight? I’ve been with 5 man groups that handle the champs without anyone ever getting downed, and I’ve been with 30+ man groups that also have little-to-no trouble (some will get downed, but none will die). It’s the legendary fight that kills the most people in my experience.
Have you tried going to a bank and clicking on the Wardrobe tab? It’ll show you pretty much all the skins in the game, and the ones you don’t have will be very easy to spot there.
Just to compare it to crafting The Legend (the other legendary staff precursor): It’d cost around 1k gold to craft The Legend, and the current highest buy order for it is around 1400 gold. And it looks like crafting The Raven Staff costs around 1100g, give or take a few. So, it’s not like this one is worse than the other more expensive legendaries.
That being said, I too get annoyed by the extreme amount of ascended mats required for that first tier of crafting.
The thread is over a year old. OP probably doesn’t care anymore.
I can’t say I’ve ever experienced this, even on my not-so-great satellite connection. I realize it’s not a fix, but there are other ways to get down that don’t require the glider; you could just opt for those.
As a pretty casual player, I have to say that this game most certainly does not cater to the hardcore crowd. The bulk of the content we’ve received since launch has been pretty casual.
The simplest solution would be to have an “embargo” zone of sorts. Perhaps a 600 unit radius around server “owned” interactables and static npcs. This would mean harvest nodes, npcs, chests, and my personal hate-inducing favorite, world boss portals (lookin at you kittens at TT).
That’s what I think, as well. I’m not sure how doable it would be, but I think something like that would be best. The other day I was grabbing the go-to Ascalon vista for the daily vista viewer, and someone was standing there dropping multiple food trays and guild feast items on top of it. It was easy enough for me to find the vista interact thingy (or I could have just gone to a different, just as easy vista). But it’s still annoying that trolls can just drop item after item on top of another interactable.
I’m pretty sure there won’t be any patch tomorrow. Probably the usual Tuesday gemstore update. And then next week, we’ll have some sort of patch.
These are not people disadvantaged by “no child left behind”. They received at least good to excellent educations from high schools, equivalent to a college education of today, and often more. They know how to find a goal of value and achieve that goal regardless of the level of difficulty included. But they did that for most of their real lives.
I like how you managed to kind of insult both your generation and the generation of “No child left behind” in the same paragraph. Nice moves.
