You have to glide in front of him to get him to trigger.
I always just assumed the “25 years ago” was simply an estimation. Could also just be an inconsistency on the part of Anet, as well, obviously.
I’d personally opt for one of the most expensive ones that also look good. Electro blue (from the Taimi set) would be my first choice, probably. It really looks lovely, if you like blue colors. Pyre (from Flame Dye kit) is a really nice gold dye. Imperial Red (from Crimson Lion kit) is my favorite red in the game.
This wiki page has a list of every dye you can get from the Celebratory Dye Pack, and it shows their current price on the TP. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Celebratory_Dye_Pack
Yeah, I’d prefer if it was Staves, but both are correct. I do like how Adryn is a Stavemaster instead of a Staffmaster, though.
For the same reason blade shards, mystic forge stones, philosopher’s stones, and mystic crystals don’t: we have no idea.
It’s cheaper to craft your own bags than do the candy corn trick with current prices for it. The trick became too well known, so the price of candy corn and candy corn cobs shot up to compensate.
Fair enough. It’ll probably drop down again in a couple of months, though.
Following guides for leveling your crafting is usually much cheaper than just playing the Discover Everything game. That’s especially the case with bags since the runes of holding aren’t cheap. I never made bags to level any of my crafts. Even if the bags you made sold for nothing, there still wouldn’t be any point to making an option to disable special bag features because there are normal bags to get or make.
And in case you didn’t know, you can trade in 3 candy corn cobs for a 20 slot bag. The vendor is Sonder the Seller in LA.
That sounds kind of pointless because there are many normal bags you can buy or make that won’t filter its contents. Sell the bag you don’t want, and buy/make one that isn’t a special bag type.
I say this as a person who loves doing jumping puzzles: I don’t care if people get portals to the end, and I don’t think it needs to be changed.
I just beat the story.....(spoilers!!)

The thing we kill in the final story instance is Mordremoth’s mind. We kill his body in the Dragon Stand meta event, and his corpse is there for all to see. As a side note, we never see Zhaitan’s corpse. It falls down to the bottom of the Elder Dragon’s Lair, and we never see any part of it until we first enter the Priory’s library/archives (a tail is hanging from the ceiling).
I do agree that the story felt pretty short and rushed. But I felt that the ending of the HoT story was more satisfying than the end of the main GW2 story.
None of the things listed here are bugs, so this would be more appropriately placed in the Fractals/Dungeons/Raids subforum.
Looks like you just did so.
Interesting to know this.
You have to do more things to earn Mastery points. If you’ve earned every Mastery point in every HoT map, then you need to move onto doing achievements that award Mastery points. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_point_unlocks#Heart_of_Maguuma_mastery_points
Well, the thing is that the airship and royal terrace are both in open world maps. They’re not in an instance like the home instance is. So, for there to be a “return to location” option, they’d have to put those two areas in their own separate instances.
We’ve all made silly mistakes like that before (I know I certainly have, anyway).
It says right there on your screenshot (Delivery Box > Items: 0 > Funds: 5g56s31c) that you have 5g56s31c to pick up from the TP. You have to actually go to a trading post merchant to pick it up.
Report the text bug in-game, and then just make the stocks (which are what you need).
I don’t think anyone ever got the skin before it was fully pulled from the system. That doesn’t mean it won’t necessarily be introduced to the game, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
No. Just no. There is no “discrimination” here, and pvp doesn’t give access to all pve skins.

You have to craft the Ravenswood Staff in order to buy the Vol 3. item. If you consumed the reward chest for finishing the Vol. 2 collection, you should have learned the recipes needed. So, check the artificing station to see if they’re there (assuming the character you learned them on is an artificer).
Yes. The achievements are hidden until you’ve done the first part of one of them.
Below is a reddit thread that has video examples of how to do it on each class, I believe. Basically, it’s just a lot easier on certain classes than on others, and you need to make use of any teleport or rush/movement utility skills you have (and also make sure you use the 1 skill that is set to you when you enter the heat room).

Impossible to buy Southsun Kasmeer or Faren except for inflated prices from other players.
I hope they make a comeback, even for a short while to allow peoples that missed that event to get them, somehow.
They are back, if you get lucky and get 5-10 mini claim tickets from black lion chests.
Odds are that no one uses that option anymore (if it was ever commonly used at all). Instead, use the LFG tool. Press Y, click on the LFG spyglass (second tab), and then pick which content you’re wanting a group for.
You’ll have to contact support.
You can just delete your original post. That’ll let the mods know the thread is done.
Keep in mind that there are certain areas that are no-fly zones. Where have you tried gliding in Central Tyria on your elementalist?
Hm. Sounds pretty strange. Could you post a screenshot of your exp bar/UI?
You don’t train masteries by gliding; you train them by gaining experience. You gain experience by doing events, gathering, hero points, etc. Once you’ve earned enough experience to fill up your exp bar, then you use Mastery Points to unlock your gliding.
It’s a feature due to ley line energy.
I find that extremely unlikely.
Unlike Kasmeer and Faren, Logan never came to Southsun in a bathing suit, so there probably won’t be one.
When your cooldown countdowns change to blue, it’s because you’re chilled or have some similar movement/recharge-affecting effect (Slow might be another) placed on you. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Chilled
1. We have condition stats already. Several.
2. I’m not sure what you mean here, exactly.
3. If your guild has a guild hall, you can build a guild arena. Nice place for dueling. You could also duel players in wvw and in spvp custom arenas. I personally don’t want to see open world dueling, though.
4. I’m not sure what you mean here. The listing fees are realistic and serve a purpose (removing a small amount of gold from the economy).
5. You can already do this, albeit with specific items.
6. No real argument here.
7. I’m currently content with the amount of traits, but I wouldn’t mind more options, I suppose.
8. No opinion.
9. Generally speaking, the paths through maps are pretty clear. I honestly prefer not having mobs jump out of nowhere because, if I can see them, I can try my best to avoid them (which is what I’d do if I were in such a situation in real life). You can get a bit of that in maps with chak and a few other mob types, though.
It’s a bug. There have been a few other threads about it, but no response from Anet yet.
Mmmhmm. Sure.
I’m not sure how the two are the same or even necessarily related. The crafting change in wvw was to keep people from filling up player slots, sometimes preventing people who want to actually play wvw from getting into the map in a timely manner. While a change to JP parking would affect me, I wouldn’t care too much because the ones I park can be done within 5 minutes (10 if I’m having a particularly dumb day). But I don’t see the real point in putting in such a change.
There’s no in-game guide, but there is one on Dulfy. Has a list of all of the locations for the achievement. Otherwise, yeah, you’re basically supposed to discover the achievement as you run around Krytan areas and find the notes posted on walls.

Just to verify, I just did a run through various rich nodes (5 iron, 1 copper, and 1 silver). Every node took 4 cycles. I did this on my toon with the Watchwork pick, and I repeated it on a toon with a normal orichalcum pick. On Watchwork, 3 of the iron gave me doubles on at least two cycles, but the other 2 gave no doubles. No doubles on the copper or silver. The normal pick gave me doubles (some just one set, some more than one) on 4 of the iron nodes and no double on the 5th.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
As long as I can remember, it’s taken 4 cycles to fully harvest a rich node, both on orichalcum/mithril picks and my watchwork pick. And doubles have never been guaranteed in my experience; sometimes they happen, and sometimes they don’t. As a side note, the rate of doubles you get is also influenced by your servers wvw score (Gatherer reward gives you 2-3% more chance for extra resources).
As a side note, the wiki page for Gathering even says: “Rich mining veins can be gathered ten times as opposed to three and have a higher chance to give rare gems.” You get 3 hits per cycle; 10 would be 3 full cycles + 1 hit on a fourth.

Eh? The cause is simple enough – they kittened up the lighting on that map square and probably need to bake it again. If you look at the house and where it’s fine vs bright as all kitten, you will notice that the brightness is a perfect square (zero rotation compared to overhead map). It’s being lit by a single lightpoint probably at the eastern edge at waterlevel, rather than just the global map lighting. It’s probably adding it’s value to the global map light, that’s why there are no shadows. That’s also why the walls looking east is comparably fine.
The problem is that this lighting issue is showing up in multiple maps, most often in caves (ie. the caves near Vale WP in Queensdale, the spider cave in Diessa Plateau, another cave area in Fireheart Rise, etc.). So, it doesn’t seem like it’s just this one sector of this one map that needs to be fixed, which means it’ll take more time to figure out the problems and solve them.
This affects your AR, as well. Equip one weapon set as mainhand/offhand and then the second set as just offhand (to re-use the same mainhand). Make sure the “set” with just the offhand is currently equipped, and then go into reapershroud. You’ll lose the AR you have in your mainhand. Come back out, and the AR will be there again. And if you go into reapershroud with the other “set”, then you’ll have your full AR.
APPENDUM and its now almost a year after the original posting and I’m still experiencing the sort of abuse mentioned here. You can also add to that the usual trolls jumping around in front of me while I’m trying to enjoy a role-playing session, setting of explosions, targeting me with flash and portal effects. Basically anything which entertains their tiny little minds. So with that in mind, ARENANET, CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE SERIOUS CONSIDERATION TOWARDS BLOCKING THE IMAGE OF ABUSERS, AS WELL AS THEIR EFFECTS/SOUND EFFECTS once blocked, so I and people like me who just want to enjoy Guild Wars 2 can block these idiots and see them VANISH, and all of the tools they are using to abuse me and others vanish right along with them!
Before anyone says it cannot be done, oh yes, it can! I’m a programmer and know something about structured programming. I also successfully implemented this when using a game called Second Life, so it is entirely possible within a structured environment to change the attributes so that they will not be rendered locally. That means that everyone else will see these people, but once I have blocked them, I will not. It is a simple and elegant solution to the abusing problem.
That said, I also suggest an amendment to the existing reporting system to include INTIMIDATION for the sake of intimidation. Most of these idiots get their fun at the expense of others by actively acting to emotionally intimidate them and I in the worse case situations where having been blocked from sending me dialogue, I still have these people IN MY FACE, bouncing up and down, inside my avatar, setting off effects and in many cases the only way to STOP SUCH ABUSE is simply to leave, or to log out completely. I play Guild Wars 2 so I can relax, so to have this happen to me – at the moment about six times a day on average – can be very irritating – and its made all the worse by the fact that they know I cannot report them for intimidating behavior.
We don’t know the back story here. If you’re being trolled by people “about six times a day on average”, it seems odd that it’d just be random, anonymous trolls. It sounds more like people you have a history with for whatever reason. You can always take screenshots, and then submit a support ticket with a description of the trolling. That may get more results than just reporting in-game.
Regardless, you bumped a thread that’s been dead for a year. So, this thread will probably be closed soon (bumping dead threads is against the rules). You’d be better off just making a new one if you really want to continue the discussion.
It always takes me 4 cycles to harvest a rich mining node using ANY pick. 3-3-3-1, every time, unless RNG favors me with a double. And as for said doubles, that’s RNG. You’ll have times where you’ll get lots of doubles, and you’ll have times where you get none. Thus far, no evidence has popped up that shows the cosmic tool has a lower chance.
Tangled Depths without masteries. VB and AB also get honorable mentions because of hero points guarded by champs.
I don’t think any class in GW2 would really fit a “monk”-type. Closest to a battlemage would probably actually be an elementalist. But if you’re choosing between a revenant and a guardian, then ele really isn’t an option, obviously. Both guard and rev rely on magics. Both do well with melee combat, both have access to good elite specs, and both are useful in most game modes. Personally, I prefer playing revenant over guardian, but I enjoy guardian, too.
What Sartharina said. You don’t need to remove the old runes to put new ones in; just double click on the runes, and then choose the pieces you want to put them in. If, for some reason, you do want to keep the runes (if they’re expensive and good to sell on the TP for gold, for example), you have a couple of options. If it’s non-karma-bought exotics, you can use a black lion salvage kit on each piece to get the rune back (100% chance of getting it back). If it was bought with karma, your only option is to buy new runes or buy an upgrade extractor.
Keep in mind, if you use a salvage kit to get the runes back (even a black lion kit) you will lose the armor piece to which the rune was attached.
Yeah, I meant to specify that. Good note to make!
Yeah, it sounds like someone activated the challenge mote. Run it again, and just make sure no one does that. Bloomhunger will spawn as normal.
Yeah, I stopped by the area earlier, and it’s definitely bugged and spawning level 80 and 81 harpies during the event. It’s annoying enough if you’re just passing through, but it’s particularly bad because it blocks access to the hero point over there unless you have stealth/get lucky not getting aggro.
