She doesn’t start the event, though. She’s just a “herald” character, an NPC who calls your attention to an event already in-progress elsewhere.
Ah, i see. Does it ever end if no one engages with it or does it stay active indefinitely if left alone?
That event doesn’t have a timer, so it just stays up until someone does it.
I tried running wvw for a bit every day for about a month to get it. No luck. Didn’t play wvw for about three months after that. I decided to pop into wvw last month, just on a whim, and got that kitten spoon from the first guard I killed. RNG is RNG, sadly.
You don’t get the individual level-up rewards for each level. Instead, you get https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level-80_Boost_Package
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level-80_Equipment_Package
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Package_of_Old_Equipment
And some level 80 zone waypoints unlocked.
I’m pretty sure Gaile was the Team Lead for the CS Team, just as Michael is now.
According to Michael, she used to ‘handle tickets’, just as he does now.

My bad then. I stand corrected.
No, Rose, you were correct.
I was never CS Lead. I was Support Liaison, and the thread I created and maintained was in place to allow me to review CS decisions and see if we could come up with a better outcome for players. It also allowed me to ask CS of they could handle tickets that may have lingered too long in the system, or have fallen through the cracks. I didn’t make CS decisions; I aided players in getting the most positive outcome possible. Get it? I wasn’t making decisions — I was helping players.
And whether I was CS Lead or not, saying “You deserved it” is inappropriate and cruel.
Saying I failed at my job — which I have not held in two years — is unfair and inaccurate. If the company erred in handling someone’s issue, or if there were issues that were not handled to the satisfaction of a player or group of plalyers, whyever would it be seen as “karma” for me, personally, to suffer loss?
Ok, that’s what I thought, but I wasn’t completely sure. Regardless, as you said, it doesn’t really matter what your job was or what cases you might have participated in because it doesn’t mean you deserve to have your account hacked.

Maybe you should have handled it like you handled someone hacking one of my accounts. Have support give it back to me THREE times after proving personal credit card info used to purchase it, then claim the other party had data sufficient to claim it as theirs as well, then completely ban the account and just kept the money I spent on the purchase. (No offer of a refund, just a big middle finger after banning me off the forums claiming it wasn’t my account.) I hope they gave away everything and deleted all of the characters. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving person. Tastes a bit like Karma.
Gaile doesn’t handle support tickets, so I’m not sure why she’s the one who would deserve such a thing.
Rose, did you do that followup?
I wonder if this is in some way a sneaky voting mechanism, or a psych study, or something. It seems really odd to put in an account-bound one-choice-forever action with no explanation of why it’s there or what the consequences might be.
Yeah, I followed up the next day on a different toon, and I did it again just now. The dialogue option is the same as on the original character. So, it looks like whichever choice you make is permanent across your entire account.
Same here, I grinded out ley-line gliding just for Bloodstone Fen, then found out you could just buy it..
As we said above, you have to have Ley-line Gliding mastery unlocked to even buy the item.
What Electro said. She’s there to direct you to an event that’s already been started. So yeah, it can get annoying, but she does serve a purpose.
Is it really that convenient?
I mean if you go into HOTM you can sell and access their bank and keep where you were. The biggest to advantage to such a thing is that you could craft or mystic forge and come back, but it sends you back to a city anyways….
I’ve only used the temp airship pass about two times when they used to drop back then, and I ended up deleting the rest. I just don’t think they were useful, so I really think being able to stay where you are isn’t that big of an advantage especially when it costs so much to buy.
That’s how I’ve felt about them, as well. Same for the Home Portal Stone. The cost isn’t worth it for me, but many people just like the convenience of it. So, at least someone is enjoying them, I suppose.
The Bloodstone Fen skill only lets you create your own ley lines, and, from what I’ve been told, you have to have Ley Line Gliding unlocked to even buy the item that gives you the Bloodstone Fen leyline gliding skill. So, you haven’t wasted your MPs.
I just had a thought.
It sounds like this Noble’s Folly functions like a home instance. I imagine if you were able to break out of a home instance into the city, you’d probably find the entire city rendered without any NPCs.
A home instance is an actual separate instance, though. Noble’s Folly itself isn’t, at least not the same kind of separate instance. If you somehow break out of the home instances, you’d probably end up under the map rather than actually getting out into the cities. If, for example, you jump off of the balconies (heading down into the main part of the Great Lodge) in the Hoelbrak home instance, you’ll just be insta-ported back to normal Hoelbrak.
You can, however, glide into the DR home instance from one of the higher areas of DR and see what you’re describing. You’ll land in the Salma District, but there won’t be any NPCs or anything interact with.
- Many classes have been pruned down to 3 or 4 skills! No more skill bloat!
Wuuut? No. Unless the two or three classes I don’t play are exceptions, no class I’ve played since the pre-patch has been whittled down to less than a handful of skills. And there’s definitely still enough to be considered a skill bloat. :p
As for the rest . . . luckily, phasing hasn’t affected me at all yet. I hope it stays that way. Bugs, though, are definitely rampant (as is typical with games).
I’ll be playing Legion, but I’ll still be playing GW2, as well. Sooo . . .
The Dulfy video shows that it’s not in its own instance. You can tell because when Dulfy shows the main map (and if you look at the mini map), you don’t see the red lines covering the areas outside of the Noble’s Folly area (which is what happens when you’re in an instance). So, just like with the airship and terrace, it’s just a blocked off section of an existing instance.

The procedure for using the bloodstone shards isn’t explained very well in the game. You have to get close to it, use the anti-magic skill, and then walk away from the shard so that the elemental is between you and the shard. This is what removes the elemental’s shield, allowing you to kill the elemental; and I believe the shard usually dies with it. Destroying the shard before killing the elemental will just make it respawn over and over.
The Glint’s Gaze Mask and Chaos Gloves are skins, not an Outfit. So, you’ll unlock the appearance on your entire account, but you will only get one free use of the skin; every other time you use it, you’ll have to use a transmutation charge.
And note that you’ll have to craft the gossamer insignia because they are account bound on acquire. The recipes for them can be bought at the vendors listed on the Recipe: Viper’s Intricate Gossamer Insignia link above.
I suggest Trump. Once enough party members have voted to Trump, the Trumped party will see “You have been fired”.
1. Invisible bags, as Illconceived suggested.
2. Karma items.
Items in invisible bags won’t get auto-salvaged, and karma items can’t be salvaged.
My theory has always been that if you stealth after a mob has already seen you (and the mobs in Bloodstone Fen seem to have a visual distance of 999,999,999) then they can continue to strike you, even at ridiculous ranges.
Yeah, this is how stealth works in all cases, pretty much. If an enemy has already started channeling an attack (in this case, their stupid rock throwing from a ridiculous distance away) before you go into stealth, that attack will hit. I’ve not flown around enough in stealth in Bloodstone Fen to see if there’s an exception going on there, but I would assume it’s just a case of these mobs having an insane aggro range rather than stealth getting buggy.
This is just what I do personally:
Cloth and leather greens/blues – Salvage
All other greens/blues – Vendor
Rares over level 68 – Sell on the TP IF the sell price is higher than the current cost of a glob of ectoplasm; otherwise, salvage with a Master/Mystic/Silver-fed kit
Exotics – Check the sell price on the TP AND check the rune/sigil of the item’s sell price; if the rune/sigil goes for more than the whole item, salvage with a black lion kit, sell the rune and any ectos; if the whole item goes for more than the sigil/rune AND sells for more than 2g, I sell the item; if the item goes for less than 2g and has a crappy upgrade, I salvage.
Dont think spoiler tags work in chat anymore, so… You guys realize what krait look like, right? This is an analog of something in real life.
Oh, it’s clearly a snake oil riff. My quandary lies in what effect it has on the account (if any) if you drink it vs. you boot him. So I’m hoping someone will say (perhaps in a spoiler bar) what happens if you boot him so I can decide before I forever take a choice. I mean, some of my alts would happily quaff it, others boot him, and others shake their head wisely and move on.
I chose the “get out” option. Doing so made it so I could kick over his baskets/containers of krait oil, while he complained about me doing so. So far, I haven't noticed anything else happen because of it other than the NPC saying "Oh, it's you again" when I come to him on any other character. I'll check him again tomorrow to see if another character can choose to take it/destroy it after a day has passed.
Doc Halvern used to peddle Krait Oil back in the old Lion’s Arch. I miss him. I guess this Consortium guy has taken over the Krait Oil sales!
I would imagine that more tiers will be added to the new HoT Mastery line, which will require more Mastery Points. Even if they didn’t add more tiers, though, I don’t see why anyone would care (let alone be upset) about Anet adding more Mastery point options.
More tiers would require a massive increase in the amount of mastery points available.
Adding one tier to exalted, itzel, nuhoch, gliding would require an around 72 additional mastery points.
I wasn’t talking about adding another tier to the old (HoT launch) Masteries. I meant the new one added with the LS3 content on Tuesday; currently there is only one tier of it, and it seems like more might be added as the LS goes on.

I just waited for her to ask her question. Once she’d asked it, I typed /yes, and I got the achievement.
Why are you unable to train Counter Magic? Your exp bar looks full, so you should only need to use a Mastery Point to unlock it. There are even two fairly easy-to-reach Mastery Point locations in Bloodstone Fen, if you don’t have any Mastery Points right now.
Thanks Gaile. She made a “tree lady” she called her, a sylvari, the only thing she did with her at the time was dance her around the fountain in Lion’s Arch and tried to do the same in the apt…it was so much fun she said, I said "its not all about dancing Mom…she said “oh yes it is”. I should have kept the character but I wasn’t able to do it, she named it after herself. I’ll dance my sylvari around the fountain sometimes even though its now a different city, imagining those times and yes its all about dancing.
This post made me smile. I’ll be sure to make my Sylvari dance near the LA fountains, in memory of your mom.
I had that happen to me the first time I did the final instance, but I quickly realized it happened because I wasn’t using the new special skill when it popped up. Using it gave me back my Energy and normal running speed.
I saw the notes about this addition yesterday, and I thought it was so great of Anet to add this option. I’ve seen something like it requested many times by family/friends/guildies of players who passed away, and I really love that Anet has made it a reality.
Yeah, it’ll likely be an outfit. And I’m honestly ok with this entire look being an outfit. For once I’m happy with every piece of it.
If you buy it in the gem store, it’s automatically applied, I believe. If you buy it from the website, you get a mail with the key, as far as I remember.
I gave up trust on the TP when my friend lost his Legendary Sunrise off the trading post after canceling the posting and after contacting support they said, he never had it, they can’t tell that he ever had it or made it or have any log of it in the game. So yes, Choose wisely how you trade.
Your friends story sounds less than completely true.
Yes. Submit a support ticket explaining what happened.
Snowden Drifts and Brisban Wildlands both had new waypoints added to the zones over the past couple of years. Gendarran Fields also had a new POI added to it a couple of years back. If you’d completed those maps before those new waypoints went in, then you got the completion reward back when you first did it. Getting the new waypoints won’t give you a new set of rewards.
As for your other map, I’m not sure what the issue could be there. You’re completely sure you got every POI, waypoint, hero point, heart, and vista in Wayfarer Foothills?
The team in charge of handling reports investigates chat logs and the activity on the account being reported. So while many warrantless reports are made, it’s very rare that those reports will lead to a suspension or ban because all reports are looked into by a human being.
Have you opened the silver reward chest?
Yeah, I can’t say I noticed a real difference between beta and the actual game. As Donari said, Faren’s chain is still in there, too.
The first time I did the instance, I had no problems. The second time, I had the bug where Braham placed the rift on a part of the map that I could no longer walk on (the ground was gone). The last two times I’ve done it (once as a duo and once solo and both times being within the last two months), it bugged on us/me when transitioning to the final phase; either the rift would never appear or the rift couldn’t be interacted with. Both times resulted in having to reset the fight (and in the case of the duo, it rapidly jumped from phase 1 to the very end of the final phase). So, yup. There are still bugs that CAN show up.
“Invisible” is meant to work as “Offline”. I don’t know why Anet chose to do it this way, but it’s just how it works. If you want to see guild chat, you just will have to not be set to Invisible.
As a side note, none of this is a Bug, and so this post would probably be better suited for the Guild Wars 2 Discussion or Players Helping Players subforums.
RNG is RNG. I bought the pack, too, and I ended up getting 6 scraps from the 10 keys (which is exceptional luck for me).
You can trade directly with other players if you want. However, if something goes wrong, anet will not replace the item or gold being traded because direct trading is not supported. So, do it at your own risk.
I thought the Devs said on Reddit that Rangers and Necros are free to afk while their minions kill stuff as long as they don’t have a macro running to resummon them if they die?
They’re free to afk, but they’re not free to afk farm for an extended amount of time. This was Chris Cleary’s post about it from before the change to the auto-loot feature (it was preventing the afk timer from working correctly for a while):
“1) Using skill (1 or more) while AFK
2) AFKing in a place where it is beneficial for your character to be at
3) Unresponsive to interaction with GMs
If all 3 of these apply to what you are doing, you may get actioned for it"
We don’t see the afk farming nearly as much since they fixed the auto-loot bug, but those rules do still apply, it seems.
It can take up to 72 hours (sometimes longer if they’re very busy) to get a reply.
ok…well the pets are pretty strong and don’t die…1 of my account disconnect after like 1h but the other one doesn’t disconnect or rarely…the fact is i don’t use any macro or program or whatever that could allow me an advantage…my fear is that i could get that second account ban for that reason. Should i stop going afk with it or i could defend myself when a ban comes out?
If you’re legit not trying to afk farm and are not using a macro, then you should be fine. If you do somehow get a suspension, you can contest it and will probably get the suspension removed.
I have to confess it’s a bit of a farming since i get a bit of mats and exp but i definitly don’t use any macro or program to do it. I just want to be sure it’s “tolerated” to do so. Thanks everyone for your answers.
Yeah, it is against the rules to farm while afk for an extended period of time. People do get suspensions for doing what you’re doing.
Even with the auto afk kick from the server?
Yes, you can still get a suspension if you’re caught doing it.

Sometimes people just have to step away from the computer. If they’re not trying to afk farm (which is against the rules), they’re not doing anything wrong. If you’re leaving yourself there to farm mobs while you’re not at the computer for an extended amount of time, you’re breaking the rules.
