“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Communicaeition is a skill. I’m reelly good at it.
Zelyhn, I guess you did not find the level of acceptance you were expecting, be it here on the forum or in game (in regards to the statements). Perhaps just use that feedback and reflect over it instead of dismissing it. I’m not saying go with the flow – just sometimes, when everyone seems to drive the wrong direction on a one-way street, perhaps it’s really me going the wrong way.
Good luck finding more like-minded players and all the best for your guild, have fun in Tyria.
I plan on using them on my asura. It seems to me the best fit for the speed. For a (huge bulky) norn I would imagine a more “majestic” flap – meaning slower.
So far it’s a pretty cheap alternative for 5% karma (vs ice cream).
I doubt that will influence the price – just adding another use as long as the vendor is there.
More along the lines of why the hell can we only get one of these event items now?
First the toy sack from wintersday, then the fused gauntlets from F&F, then the two back pieces from SoSC, and now only one shattered wings (at least we get one of each AC type for the helm now). It needs to go back to either the Halloween way (have to do the ‘quest’ for each character we want), or like SAB where we could get it the skins we wanted by grinding the content.
Hear hear. I fear it is viewed upon that such choices are “fun”.
Growing rather rapidly I see.
(…) weekend warrior would. In fact if anything it would be a wash. (…)
EDIT: Really Anet? I can’t say Wakitten?
Not a native english speaker here, but I think the it was not needed. Now push … not it.
*lol
I’m not even sure I understand it. Because I hardly see a “lot” of characters all running around with the same stuff.
The one weapon that always seem to stand out are greatswords – be it the chainsaw or the f&f version or even one of the legendary (only exception here would be unicorns) . But then … there is the next best thing around the corner, haven’t seen a chainsaw in a long time.
So why even worry about being exclusive? I can equip the wooden toy sword and likely be the most unique character in a two map radius. Not because the toy sword is hard to get, but because there are so many other swords out there.
I just like the name, Mini Colossus. Kind of like the Novice Veterans.
Imagine … mini ME!
(does not change when you use a total makeover kit, only valid for starter armour – additional armour sets available separate)
I have a hard time profiteering since I’m always at work when the patches roll out.
Like, really.
Hey, just make a drop down menu after salvaging. Would you like
a) dust
b) bones
c) scales
d) toenails
…
You seem to assume that I am looking for recognition.
This is merely a guild advertisement and should only be considered as such.the only kind of reaction I am expecting is a whisper for more information if someone is interested, otherwise ignoring my advert would be the norm
But it is not what is happening, hence my OP.
Ah. Well. How should I put this – I think the reaction(s) you are experiencing here are fairly standard in terms of MMO/internet.
If you are not getting any whispers, then you might want to change your tactic.
I would have loved a set that goes along with the dragon theme. Canthaesque if you so will. But I think my charr engineer will love that outfit, even if I have cut a hole in it myself – for my tail.
Z: “Guild with skill requirement recruiting good players”
A: Oh look, it’s Madz, the super good softcore elitist team, how can I prove that I’m worthy?
B: Madz are recruiting, I hope I’ll make it – test me, test me.
C: Oh I’ll give everything for the privilege to be in that guild, but they have skill requirements and I don’t think I’m good enough.
D: Master! Please teach me to be good!
Is this seriously the kind of reaction you are expecting? You might be a good gamer, you might be the best, maddest gamers that solo’s 25 man raids – but you don’t seem to be good with people.
Getting better at … what?
Are you sure you are not reading your own feelings into others? Perhaps disappointment?
(all hypothetically here)
You may talk about dungeons – I would not answer you in map-chat because I’m not interested.
You may talk about jumping puzzles – well – that’s great for you, now what? Maybe I want to figure it out myself? Maybe you would talk about a specific one, then, if I have time I might say – show me, now!
PvP? Not interested?
RP? How dare thou declare such … hang in there, have to grab my dictionary …
Portable crushed ice, what will the asura come up with next? Pure genius.
On a serious note – this is why I love to have mini’s out with my asura – I can look them in the eye!
What exactly is this thread about?
Try this, go into a bar – or I daresay an irish pub – and proclaim however humbly that you are a good XYZ. What will the reaction be.
Everyone stops drinking and watches you in awe?
Everyone stops drinking and breaks out laughing?
Most people ignoring you, some challenging you?
Aye, proper boasting takes practice. Most people only think they are good at it. Then they feel misunderstood.
I was told that Evon Gnashblade will only give you the Sclerite skin merchant interface if you actually have a ticket on hand.
That sounds odd because I could see the F&F and the Wintersday selection without a ticket …
Right click – sell on trading post – 4-5 silver st the moment per … ?

This is coming from a person who just stated they got their tickets with just one purchase on each event…..
Irony is fun isn’t it.
It’s like a spoon, when all you need is a sword.
Update (in case you haven’t seen it yet).

Well done indeed. The mystic forge would be my personal favourite.
This time around I’ve been one of the lucky ones. Literally the first coffer (drop, not rich) contained the ticket – after that, I guess another 30, only candies, fireworks and some foods.
Here is my take on it: The new mini was not intended to be used to create other mini’s but only for the one recipe. It’s rare quality – lot’s on the market for relatively cheap – bam, too many exotic mini’s and another grey hair for John.
I’m still clueless here.
I always thought mini’s were forgeable. So if people ended up with a Jack, then so what? They’re lucky. And they put it on the outpost.
I’m missing something, obviously?
See Osi’s post above
The new mini which is EXTREMELY common (1000+ listed atm, i’m sure 1000’s were put in the mystic forge earlier) was able to be thrown into the Mystic Forge and you could get exotics (20% chance back), so while the pets were 1.5g each, (6g per try), meaning 24g per exotic mini which were all 70-200g at the time.
A very nice gesture, thanks Anet!
The wintersday present nodes were fun. the mobs were tough, so you wanted other people to show up and it also gave people time to reach the node and qualify for drop loot. Also, just activating the box would drop presents on the ground, so even if you were late to the node, you could still get something.
That was fun and supported community, while completely eliminating griefing. This, on the other hand, is just horrible game design. I can say that because they touted the changes vs. Wintersday. They fixed what wasn’t broken and essentially ruined the content.
Exactly – there was still a little window. Could have just had a big holographic easter… pardon dragon-egg instead of the present box.
I’ll see tonight if it’s as bad as it sounds.
If its true that this is armor then I’m excited! Engies have been asking for more engie looking armor since forever! And this steampunk style is pretty close!
Well I wonder how it will look like on a charr …
What? No screenshot of this supposedly gorgeous spot. Must have been a dream.
Heh. I just noticed the Dragon Bash subforums exists. Checked it out. Very amused.
Honestly with the rate at which you can get normal dragon coffers, I seriously wonder why anyone would bother with Rich ones.
Almost sounds like they drop too much atm, I’m sure by the time I log in that will be rectified, if not … we’ll see
And so it begins…..
Seems like you missed a few threads, it “began” a while ago … ~ hour?
(…)
This is the price we, common players, pay for farmers. ArenaNet has learned that they don’t need to make a good, deep and interesting game – they can just keep adding Magic Find and farmers will keep farming.
I think they are more playing around with ideas on how to softly get rid of magic find on gear.

The basic ones, the special time limited ones from events and such would be found under the events.
Yeah, yeah
When I walk on by, mobs be looking like kitten he fly
I kill to the beat, walking Orr patrol in my new T3, yeah
This is how I dodge, animal print, warrior outta control,
It’s Rouven’s charr with the big afro
And like Bruce Lee I got the claw
Oops – sorry, got distracted. so – you can tell a successful player by the way they dodge

Really now, the gold to gem is awful and this spike made it even more awful completely ruining any chance to have a 20% discount. It just makes no sense.
The real currency vs gems stays the same.
Edit: Need more coffee – but you know what I meant.

How about a 100-slot dolyak walking bag?
that follows you slowly and you have to defend?
Oh, I thought more of an inverted mini … like a maxi! That holds my stuff. But he could defend me too if you like ^^
All your power are belong to us.
Behold the mystic horseshoe – a transcended trinket. No one knows what it’s good for but it’s supposed to do something. Many forum posts shall be created in the years to come to discuss it’s purpose.
If that idea is miraculously trademarked we’ll make a ring out of it. “Just one ring.”
I very much like Geotherma’s idea, but I’m not too fond of the name changing every two weeks (or so). Although there might be a hidden entertainment value there as well …
On a serious note – I thought that Fotm should offer an ever increasing difficulty. Pardon my ignorance on this subject, is that not working like it should?
If by ‘increasing difficulty’ you mean ‘more and more spawns with more and more health that do more and more damage, but are about as interesting to beat as a wet sock’, then you guessed correct.
If by ‘increasing difficulty’ you mean ‘stronger mobs not because of increased healthbars, but by better and interesting mechanics’ you guessed wrong.
Also, the reason people don’t like to do Fractals anymore is because it’s about as rewarding as blowing a hobo. You’re not going to enjoy it, and you’re definitely not going to get payed in the end.
Got it, thanks for the detailed answer.
How about a 100-slot dolyak walking bag?
Fight nekkid with only a spoon! Because we know a spoon hurts way more.
I know that that is not helping. Similar like people have to pretend their characters can sit in chairs (if that’s what you like – you know, roleplay).
On a serious note – I thought that Fotm should offer an ever increasing difficulty. Pardon my ignorance on this subject, is that not working like it should?
Dragon Bash Fireworks – June 14-17
Watch the skies above Lion’s Arch come alive with an explosive fireworks show every night in-game. The fireworks begin at 9AM PDT on Friday, June 14 and will go off every two hours until 12PM PDT Monday, June 17. Stay through the spectacular finale and receive a unique festival helm – The Horns of the Dragon!
Think that’s the most time limited event coming up.
I’m getting lost in this personal bickering back and forth.
Basically I’m hearing this – some people got lucky but do not care about it anyways. That’s great. Other people don’t get lucky but would care about it and are told not to care about it when they point that out.
I never like the attitude “well if you don’t like it then this game isn’t for you”. While this may be true in essence it’s not very constructive. Stating opinions is one thing, telling others what to do, what to expect or how to behave is another.
Yes we have different backgrounds, different expectations, different experiences. In game and outside of the game. If “you” belong to a big guild and you are online 24/7 your experience will be vastly different from someone that plays mostly alone and perhaps does not want to commit to running dungeons often because that person might not know if he has 2 hours. Unless it’s a CoF 10 minute dungeon.
The way I perceive it – it’s a very bold design (the whole play your way etc). But it still needs to be tweaked to come across in a “fun” way. It just screams too much Economy! Scarcity!
I also don’t understand the notion about “I want to be alone on the map because it’s supposed to be a scary place and not about how many mobs you can tag”. Let me re-phrase, I absolutely understand that notion – but heh, this is the game design – the more the merrier. The solution should not be to make the content less desirable – but to make all the other content equally desirable. Then people can spread out more without feeling cut off and having the need to find the “next best thing”.
Economy! Scarcity!
We heard you like grinding, so we halved the loot so you can grind twice as long!
I would wait. It only says you “can” find weapon tickets and further tells you that you also “can” find them in the other coffers that drop in the world, but of course that chance is way slimmer.
If the chance would be 100% there would be no need for a “can” – it would say:
You find weapon tickets inside Rich Dragon Coffers and (rarely) in Dragon Coffers.
Well, that’s my take on it. I’ll wait for the biased reports here on the forum so I can make my biased decision.
I find this happening more and more often. I enter a thread, find grey-out buttons. Check my history, none of the posts are listed in my ‘posts liked by…’. If I click on the grey button to turn it back to red, the post is then entered into my history of ‘posts liked by…’.
So, I have to go back and turn it grey again, to remove that post.I have found, however, that refreshing the page often gets rid of this anomaly of having posts liked by me before I’ve even read them.
Yes, it just doesn’t seem to be consistent. Looking at the last thread I had screenshot last now all is correct and the +1 field shows red as it should. Hopefully they’ll find the reason for this display glitch, I’m sure it can be confusing for some.
Three in a row, stayed gray after revisiting the post.
It feels a bit artificial. Might as well put a cooldown on mob kills. Let’s have a good and steady 1 mob per minute so we can easier average the drops and maintain a stable economy. Better idea, don’t even give us the drops, only distribute them every 1-2 hours to all players simultaneously to even everything out. Give us tokens that I can exchange for the material I want. More tokens needed for higher tiers. There, done. We can all disperse to any map and do any event etc. and all get the same reward.
