Nah, I’m really easy going that way. Couple of alts I sort of started (in the past) but didn’t continue. I sort of did that with dailies. Log in with the alt to salvage the last item or mine the last node needed. That sort of thing. I never had an issue with the leveling curve.

I’d most certainly not. For my taste it should come as an option with the purchase of the crafting expansion slot. The crafting expansion is definitely great for newer players or people who play less characters. I’m just not going to level any craft up again.

Blue leather armor should be sold on the TP or to a merchant. Green leather armor should be forged for a chance at a promotion to Rare quality (at which point you can salvage it for the Ecto and Rune).
I did the forging for a little bit and without making spreadsheets found it to be not worth my while. Maybe that has changed, but basically I concluded just vendoring is faster and the result in silver is equal to the potential promotion into rare and from there to ectos.
But this might be a fun thing to do for some, you can always be lucky and get more out of it, especially if you are getting a nice promoted rune at the end. In the long run probably worth it in terms of profit.

Well for one, skills 1-5 are always your weapon skills, skill 6 is always your heal, and skill 10 is always your elite. Not much left to customize in the way of ordering. :\

Aye, use it. I got one and used it without realizing, never received another Abyss in the two years. 40G is not that hard if you sell your drops on the TP.

Players can use 10 skills at a time, but those skills are determined by a player’s chosen weapon, and the order can be changed only for 3 of them.
Curious as to why you chose this when it is not only incomplete but as it stands simply false?
I guess for brevity, although I might have mentioned other things, for example a less humanoid race that runs on all fours, which is not seen often – for me definitely a first.
Most likely content did not matter as much for this purpose, I think it was well done otherwise – although you are repeating yourself a few times in terms of Anet having made an impact with the games.

If you read his post in here and the one in the WvW section you would have seen that he mentions that. I mentioned he might get better help and suggestions there, which it seems to me he got more answers in the other thread.

But we didn’t know the exact contents of collections until a day or two before the patch drop (even then the collection list wasn’t comprehensive). The price move started well before that.
September 3rd was the first glimpse, showing us rare and exotic collections. It’s not a too big a stretch. That is pretty much when supply started dropping. I wouldn’t be surprised by people holding onto one of the materials that you can almost not have enough of.

Stupid idea perhaps, but do you have any use for laurels? You could turn them into T6 and sell those on the TP. Not a fast method per se, but it does not involve PvE for you and you might have a few already.

Let me first say that I don’t PvP and I don’t WvW much either. I don’t feel that PvE will prepare you for either modes, WvW might be more forgiving here hiding in a zerg, but otherwise you will want to use different traits and equipment, depending on profession maybe even a different weapon.
You may want to have your thread moved to the competitive section as you will have better exposure, perhaps check out the guides from this thread, not sure how up to date they are – or check the profession sub-forums themselves.
You (they) can wait and check back often to find an off-peak time. I am on JQ but de-facto I play with people from TC all the time. Don’t even have to guest anymore.

I noticed them crafting some lower level armor for the basic collection and stumbled over the new insignia that didn’t say the stats – just “flexible”. Didn’t craft it though.

The difference is an artist and designer has moved from unconscious recognition toward conscious calculation of aesthetic design.
So what does that mean in this situation? When a mathematician turns the average audience member into a statistic, they are calculating for something entirely subconscious, with no quantifiable method of measurement or means of solid statistically valid interpretation.
An artist on the other hand has those subconcious instinct just like everyone else has, but he can interpret his own reaction and that of the audience; and feel, not calculate, what is right or wrong with the design as experienced by the audience.
I absolutely agree. You may have also read my previous comment that I said metrics are not the problem, but how they may be interpreted.
Yet I cannot apply this to this situation as there where most likely many people involved in making these changes and I could not accuse them of behaving like thoughtless robots.
I cannot fathom many of these changes as I am not the intended target. Is this not an often heard “complaint” about unskipeable tutorials (in other games) even if you are playing it for the first time simply because you intuitively grasp how they work because of your experience?

Popular things happen, sometimes in spite of what people say should/will be popular. The only way to know is to find those signs of approval. Y’know, by asking.
(Back to sincerity:) Unfortunately, after a new patch comes out, it’s hard to convince players, especially long-time ones, to chop time out of their play to send up a survey. Best shot might be in email questionnaires, but even then, those opinions are likely to be polarized more than the norm.
Haha – absolutely, I should have worded it a bit better in any case. Metrics in itself are not the cause, but the result. This does not exclude the possibility of exceptions. Personal taste is personal. Yet there seems to be a wide consensus among groups of people about “good” taste and/or beauty.
Most likely those “soulless” metrics have been to a large degree the reason why we have (and are playing) this game in the first place. Some like it, some don’t.

Aesthetics cannot be calculated for, anybody with real experience in the creative industries knows that metrics are very little nothing compared to the instincts of a good and experienced artist.

Hey, I shake my head a little at a few things myself, however – hands up, who here in this thread is a genuine new player?
As I’ve said a few times already, I do think that turning off the tutorial for experienced players should be possible. Let them work on the bugs and get back to this once that is fixed and we leveled a new character at that point.

I don’t really do key runs, just food for thought, at the current exchange rate 16.34g would buy you a key. So if you can make that or more per hour you might want to rather do that, otherwise continue key runs?

Metrics are not a problem. You will most likely find some comments in my post history though that one has to know how to interpret them. Not knowing what metrics are and how they are used in your every day life – pretty much every aspect, that would not be good. This is how search engines get better, this is how supermarkets determine where and how to display their products and so on and so forth.
Metrics are the result of your vibrant activities, they are in itself neither good or bad. They are a way of understanding, explaining and predicting, they are the essence of science.

I bugged this in-game two days ago, but have not found (or seen) anyone else commenting on this, thought I will share.
I am showing a few Black Lion Collection achievements as unlocked in various stages – for example 6 or 7 Lovestruck weapon skins unlocked. I do not even possess one of these weapons.
They are (correctly) not unlocked in my wardrobe.
I am unclear whether or not I in fact received achievement points for this.

After enough votes (number is not known) a symbol will apear in form of a ‘thumbs up hand’. There are different stages with a star in the hand and it being underlined.

Another benefit would be that you can change/switch the stats out of combat.
Personally I would not expect another tier any time soon, but there are literally no guarantees.

Ok, just in case you are not making fun of the current mess – the downed skill #4 is there to get your health back up and then rally. Unfortunately now the skill #4 is locked until a certain level, I forget so yes, enjoy your painful slow death, better not use your other skills.
Edit: Doh … “Somehow i killed a mob”, but at this point I would not be surprised if rally is locked out entirely lol. Anyways, shame on me.

In regards to the weapon unlock – keep in mind this is meant for new players – how is this change better to have all weapon skills unlocked now versus drawing attention to your weapon skills with your “new” (previously not utilized) weapon how it was done until now. It’s not as if you had to kill 100 mobs either to unlock the skills at higher levels.
It doesn’t phase me much personally, but in that regard it does not seem to make a lot of sense.
Of course I understand this from a “veterans” standpoint that has leveled each profession already.

If you bought a second tag after the patch you could try asking, if you bought it before the patch I’m afraid you are out of luck. You still saved 100g vs the new price, if that is any consolation.
