“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
In a different thread Chase.8415 supplied this post which “links” to reddit.

Boring? Yes. News? No. Same old basically for almost two years. Hey, would be nice to merge all the thread into one, similar to the Cantha thread, hehe.
Let’s see first if the giant(s) actually count.
Well I tried. It still hasn’t clicked. Mostly, I kept asking myself “Why would a necromancer be collecting rabbit food and picking flowers for some random NPC they haven’t even TALKED to about why this is happening?”(…)
The question for me would be – why did the necromancer pick flowers?
And if he did pick the flower, why would the omniscient “quest giver” not know about it?
Traditionally they have always been able to tell how many creatures I killed from miles away.
Now they are not even asking me to kill 10 creatures. Or collect 10 tails. Or pick 10 flowers.
Why would the “quest giver” only appreciate you killing the creatures or weeding out flowers after the talked to you?
You came, saw, weeded.
(Edit: Veni, vidi, weeni.)
Obviously from a practical standpoint I am happy that I don’t have to run back and forth anymore.
Just my thoughts, totally fine with it not clicking with every one of course.
(…) So no… when you convert in game gold to gems, and use the gems to buy virtual goods and services, the virtual goods and services you purchased were not free.
In that case … nothing in sub based games is free.
You pay up front to access the content. Then you have to follow “path Z” – spend your time there, earn tokens – or reputation, or ingame gold – exchange that for your reward – shiny X.
It’s actually very similar.
You don’t pay up front. You do whatever you want or what is considered the most effective depending on your taste – you earn in-game gold or other currencies which you can convert into gold, then exchange that for gems and chose your reward – shiny X.
OR as an additional option only available here and not in sub based games – whip out your credit card.
Of course I would love more of an actual adventure around obtaining “items”. I love my molten gloves, they felt the most satisfying for me.
I just don’t understand the notion of this being a rip off.
Man, I am so glad I stopped playing this game years ago. The cycle of hype and delays and underwhelming releases is like a bad crack addiction.
I usually don’t answer to posts like these, but since you are speaking about addictions …
I do still check the forums once a month, and here I am, but I’m really super happy that I’ve left this game behind. If they add a large patch that doubles the available skills & weapons I’ll almost certainly come back to check it out, but as OP said anet says one thing, then disregards it and under-delivers.
You do realize though that by only reading the forum … well you are not getting the whole picture. Sure there are grains of different versions of the truth in everything, but which one would be true for you?
I skim patch notes too, and I know exactly what sort of thing (as I already mentioned) I am looking for to make it worth my while to return.
Good for you, I hope that day will come and until then try not to be too bitter.
Sorry, that probably wasn’t clear – I was more referring to the search function, after spending 3 minutes searching here because I knew I had seen something about that I remembered the note to myself from 7 months ago …

Anyways, I was more mumbling to myself

Of course you can find it faster with google … lol

Costumes don’t require charges either.
Call them outfits, that seems to be the official term, otherwise it could be confusing.
(…)
I am not sure about complete armor sets from the gemstore, as I don’t own any of those.
Every other skin needs a transmutation charge after the first initial use.
(So other than GW1 rewards there are for armour only radiant or hellfire skins – helm, shoulders, gloves, example http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Radiant_Mantle_Skin )
You could look at outfits, they are complete looks and you can toggle them on and off.
Otherwise wait for sure until you have at least exotic lvl 80 gear to use those transformation charges (if you don’t want to spend money on that).
There’s another dubious effect that may be related. I don’t think these mobs count towards achievements. One night I spent an hour in dry top doing all kinds of events and, at the end, my daily Maguuma Killer was at 0%.
They don’t. I very quickly recognised that there was no point doing the pavilion for Daily Kills, for instance.
That might just be an oversight. I can see this for temporary content like the Pavillion, but the new maps are here to stay and thus should count towards Maguuma.
even seen a ninja in tight jeans?…….
Ever seen an actual ninja?
If you saw them, they weren’t a real ninja!
How do we know what they wear? Did they give us anonymous fashion tips?
Next tip would be to never rely on the selling screen. Especially if you see 1 person offering qty of 1. Don’t have the screenshot with me, might add it tonight.
I’m horrible at paying attention to this kind of stuff, but seeing as this might very well be a big part of future content it should definitely be looked at and corrected.
Here is a bigger issue imho, I’ve completed almost all of the living stories since they started, and they want me to pay for the ones I already finished? Good luck to new players trying to find people to group with. I won’t be buying old content, but if I had access to it I would be happy to help others, going through it for the first time. Sorry Anet, Epic Fail on this one.
Who said that or where are you getting that from?
Change the interface already. Seriously.
It’s more fun looking at the “TP” on websites on the internet than in-game.
(…)
Marjory’s introduction was interesting with the film noire gritty detective angle, but to be honest, she hasn’t lived up to being a detective. (…)
Sometimes I drift towards thoughts like “what happened to that character …oh never mind, she’s right here”.
The introduction was, for me, indeed the best part.
There are a few things that I don’t understand. Like why more currencies when they said they wanted to reduce them. Why those new skins again only unlock for one armour type. Why more chests or collect 10 sand to get something random. Those are the things I shake my head about.
But otherwise, what is the difference between a smaller map and faster interval of updates or a larger map and a longer interval. You’d be done within two days instead of two hours and would have said the same thing?
I never had a problem with Dragonite, I guess it’s the same with everyone who did world boss events regularly. I’m really hurting for empyreal fragments, though, had to do JP’s for those, so it’s good those drop sometimes too.
Chests. Couple of ones I do often
Frostgorge at Troll
Timberline Falls – Thistlereed Waypoint – guaranteed Rich Platinum close by as well
Harathi – Demetra Waypoint – not always up, need to do event, but guaranteed Rich Iron there
Malchors – starting at Blighted Arch Waypoint, hitting 3 chests on my way to Cursed Shore, taking 2 more chests there, one at Archmage spawn point and another one just around the corner.
There are more, but I never really mapped a longer route.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_basic_chests
Why don’t people use them as soon as they get? I never have more than 20
Some people don’t even open champ bags right away … there is no right or wrong?
Refine them.
And just to be more accurate, it would be 2000 clicks vs. 8 clicks. Lol. You have to double-click…or right-click, then ‘Use’.
No way, there are more than 8 clicks. Open crafting panel, click on recipe, click on craft all … oh my, I’m getting dizzy. (joking)
Just because I haven’t said it in a while – I would like to vote for all crafting disciplines to be able to condense luck.
I considered using the rucksack for this content. Yeah a bit clichee maybe, but that would not phase me. However it does not work for my character at the moment …
(…) youd be better off with crystals/orbs
Waiting for Vol to post his screenshot again lol.
I’m sure there is an answer on the forums somewhere. There are literally like a hundred topics on this and the search is broken.
That was just the first one I could fine. If you really want to dig use google.
Nah, it’s all good. The “tribal” threads exist for almost two years and they will keep on existing. Would have been nice to have a more solid answer than – and I say this jokingly – “nothing is off the table”.
Thanks.
An answer here on these forums would have gone a long way for myself. But heh, we got got at least one general answer.
That might be the first weapon skin that I buy for gems.
I feel like this outfit was made for my thief, Pretty amazing work by the design team.
It looks like your outfit is dyed, I thought they couldn’t be dyed now?
They usually have 4 channels for the whole outfit. You can’t dye “individual” pieces though.
It’s unatteinable right now, how is that intended?
This has been brought up several times, and has also been replied by ArenaNet developers a few times as well. (…)
I missed that, do you remember when or where they answered, or at least who?
Thanks
My story marked complete after finding some miner.
It was dark.
A more dramatic cliffhanger is typically used in between seasons … I’m fine story wise with this, the little genius is going though explosive material and might go boom herself … hehe, I mean who knows. This is after the “big” boss fight. I felt the whole scene was too long, but that’s another matter.
Just thought about you when I read this post.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Samurai-themed-armor-mix/first#post4167625
They probably use the rocks to fuel their ships …
lol
amibrite?
I assume we are talking about the loading screen.

Yeah, it’s a bit rougher than others.
Let war be carried out in such a way that nothing but peace may seem to be its aim.

Just make one generic “Living Story” token. I already cringe at the thought of a new currency every two weeks that won’t go away.
I’m willing to bet any real swordsman will have objection to you using a katana with only one hand and no offhand. I know you have a stylized idea in your head about ninjas, I’m just saying it’s not realistic. :P
Many weapons and armour, let alone some of the actual weapon skills are not realistic, what’s the point?
I’m not so keen on it. For males, the quarterback shoulderpads fail it for me, on females I just don’t think it looks very good.
Try it on asura, no bow tie because no female version and the shoulders are ok for size.
This is a super fair and generous offer indeed.
It’s a nice idea in general, but would set a precedence. There is simply no armour skin tied to a stat combination. The closest we have to that would be ascended weapon colours based on stat combo.
You don’t have to go through that bamboo. Turn to your left and jump up the canyon there. Then keep more towards the left and get to the next waypoint.
There are even more around and always have been … that’s right, because you can’t see a good ninja.
Haaiiiiijjjaahhh
Scrap that last part … they are also silent.
With the temporary content you could at least delete the tokens etc … sigh
I was so certain I could toggle the shoulders … cries
I’d say it was just a mirage. Water under the bridge.
First impressions … I’ll keep it short, bullet points
- Story Missions, nice! Did not care for the length of the episode in scarlets old house though. Last boss fight boring, over emphasis on sanctum movement skills, felt cheap.
Engagement with the “team” a lot better, nice moving forward and working together vibe.
- Mob skills – where did that assassin go? Lol, funny at times, forgot to bring stability, well done.
- New Zone, nice look, very good environmental effects – good atmosphere, lots of lovely details. Frontloaded JP major turnoff – first thought literally – why recycle sanctum cliffs? Just wanted to get to second waypoint to be done with it – don’t care about vista and skillpoint especially since there is no zone complete
- New crafting material, ok, sounds good. Why more currencies? Another major turnoff – I seem to remember Anet wanted less currencies and not more. Lackluster vendor.
- Collect 10 sand … yawn.
- New Achievements – 33 points total – disappointing, chests that look like the regular RNG chest with most likely a few crafting materials, maybe new currency and a regular champ bag … boring – I will probably do them but … not looking forward to it.
All in all, despite noticeable efforts being taken, many lovely details – the end effect feels unsatisfying, more tokens and currencies, more chests that need keys that you buy with tokens … collect 10 sand, achievements with more chests … It feels like a “controlled” environment, not a playground. At least there is no time limit and the permanent nature is a step in the right direction. Apparently there are some “adventurers” rewards hidden somewhere.
Trust me, I wish shields would be functional and useful (in PvE).
Last game I liked for shields was Lotro – and there you could not chose your skin – grrr.
Since the OP was asking about the looks, when it comes to the Guardian I’ll only say one thing:
Beware the Aegis.
hooman
Isn’t that how the Ferengi pronounce the word “human”?
While this was totally unrelated I actually went with Utu-Noranti Pralatongs way of saying it (Edit: Farscape). At least that’s my interpretation, I’m not sure if this is the official sub-title way of spelling it.
