I’m one of those people who usually ends up with way too much leather or wood, especially in tier five. With events like the zephyr chests you can always get rid of some of that supply, but it usually creeps back up on you really fast.

Now, as an idea to get rid of overstock, perhaps balance the different materials a bit, I looked at the Material Promotion we are currently able to do at the Mystic Forge and thought – how about “cross-promoting” or “transforming” of sorts – so either up a tier as the promoting works currently of staying within the same tier (which is what I would prefer).

The formula does not have to change from what it is right now, 250 of the material, one sample of what we like as output, dust and stones.

Might also level the prices of common materials within the tier?

I haven’t seen this suggestion yet so I’m just throwing this out there.

Too expensive?

Don’t buy it. It’s other players who deem those items worth that much and those who justify the price by buying it.

Everything else has pretty much been changed as far as I’m aware.

I’m not saying you should do this, but out of curiosity, have you tried to preview this with a different body type? If you have a total makeover kit. I don’t think you will see your sword, but it should be obvious if the dress moves closer to the legs (so to speak).

I’d prefer a “consume all” option for luck. Not all my characters are artificers.

It simply adds nothing to the game other than being able to finish the monthly crafter.

You can not craft “almost all of them”.

So let’s say out of all runes you can only craft about half or them.

I forge runes because I have them (!). They are an otherwise throwaway byproduct of salvaging. I don’t forge because I want something that I can craft obviously. Because of that I would not have to buy 6 divinity runes from the TP, only 3 or 4 if I wanted a set today.

Regardless of all that Jazz, this would not solve the worth of the lower tier runes. It would just shift the pricing within those tiers and make whatever % pretty much vendortrash.

Many players are most likely not like me, hoarding the runes for the day they might feel like using them and are selling them right away – this might also negatively affect that aspect.

Back in undead?

Let’s do that in 6 years. That way we’ll have a total of 6 undead formerly slain enemies coming back “destiny’s edge” style. 6 of them vs …. oh, groups are only 5.

clearly you aren’t away of sigil and rune crafting and how specific it is. for example, if I want a Superior Rune of the Ranger, I walk up to a leatherworker station, throw in 1 Onyx Lodestone + 1 Vicious Fang + 1 Cured Hardened Leather Square, and out pops one Superior Rune of the Ranger. Almost every sigil and rune is craftable. But the few that aren’t are why you are throwing so many majors into the toilet.

Why would you say something like that?
There are 26 runes that you can craft and 33 that you can’t craft.
Not counting sigils now.

The only point I’ve ever seen in this thread was that the OP thinks he is getting shafted.

My initial thought was “when you convert your gold to gems, or do transactions on the TP the system calculates correctly for you”.

The waypoint costs are really insignificant. We now have free armor repair and do not have to get new skins every time we want to change our looks. Yet still there is complaining about what costs there are.

I’m just wondering, very seriously, it seems as if some of you think that everything should be free. There should be no in-game charges at all. What is really left for us to have to pay for if waypoint charges are gone?

I would like to have what all players spend on waypoints in 24 hours in my bank please.

Yes! That could also fly us to 40-man instanced raids where we all wear capes, are given trinity roles, and reflect on how awesome our guild halls are!

Sorry to crush your dreams, but as Colin once said, capes are hard to do (and then you have to add the wind and the angles etc). However it is mandatory to wear your Aviator Cap. The bird won’t lift off otherwise.

Overall I don’t necessarily think that is a trend, there is always a need for light literature (movies/theatre etc) and always has been. “We” just might be at a stage in our life where we realize it more.

In general I believe this is an exiting time for the entertainment industry.

As for computer games, or MMORPGs, quite honestly I loved Swtor for not having to read. It was a step towards the illusion of being the character (sort of). I love to read books actually, but I never cared too much for reading in games – it brakes the pace.

Anyways, I guess we are going a bit off topic here, sorry OP. Let’s hope for nice new enemies, presented in an engaging format.

I agree with you. Most stories would now show a different scene, a development somewhere else and so on and those threads will come back together later.

But … we’ve seen that this might not work as well for this format? Lot’s of people were confused and frustrated that they couldn’t follow the story.

I’m sure we should make some “new” friends on the way to deal with the new threat anyways (and help them with something first). Maybe things will make more sense to a lot of people when they can read up in the “personal story” log.

Simply because what you said would have never been true for all zones. Point is within your average “evening” time (talking about all zones) you are pretty much guaranteed each boss to spawn.

A cool feature in GW2 that not many use is that you can keep a weapon from a set and only change the main or off-hand weapon.
Example: You equip 1 sword in the main hand in the set 1, a sword in the off hand set 1 and a warhorn in the off hand set 2 and keep the main hand set 2 empty. When you change from set 1 to set 2 only the off hand will change, the main hand will keep the sword from set 1, that way you’ll have a sword 100% of the time and the versatility of the off hand weapons.

You know, I wondered about this the other day and I was going to try it out but forgot – what happens to the cooldown(s) on the weapon that you don’t switch, guess it’s global per specific weapon?

People really need to be more obvious when they are not serious.

John, care to comment about the rumour that you have a big red button on your desk, similar to the easy button but it’s glowing apparently – that would, if you press it, delete all gold from the game period. Undisclosed sources are saying you received special training in a monastery somewhere in the himalayas (where you may or may not have unvoluntarily gained insight into the life of alpacas) in order to responsibly operate this button. How do you manage? Do you receive extra compensation?

If you have a specific profession in mind then you might be best of to ask in that forum.

Some professions are better at one thing than others, so while my generic answer would be that you can’t ruin your character – you could potentially craft an armour set that might not be optimal – this sometimes depends on who you ask or if you are talking PvP, WvW or PvE.

What is the vision for the weapons. Some weapons seem to have it all, high damage, some CC and mobility.

I think the point here would be that they most likely couldn’t, even if they wanted too. Only 128 teams.

I don’t know, I have no ranking whatsoever, think I had 3 pvp matches at the start of the game – who wants to register with me? We’ll call ourselves “Deadly Guinea Pigs”. Fastest tournament match ever.
