Or similar idea for the tiki shield, although that might be harder (tribal warrior sort of idea?).

It has always been like that for celestial. Same deal for the new nomad pieces.

I think of it sometimes, picking up GW1 just to earn the points, but then I would almost feel like a poser – nah, I think it’s ok the way it is.

I think you don’t get it either.
A game shouldn’t only serve 1 type of players, especially if it’s a mmo.

Oh no, I’m getting it, you just don’t get that it’s only feasible to a degree. Most often than not, from the comments over the years, I would believe that they thought “it” was really hard – and then 5 minutes later someone already did “it”.

You can only offer a certain range realistically.

Well I guess that’s a good approach too, once you have enough T6 you can still continue what you are doing and sell them. Wanze has as always good advice.

That’s right but MMOs are also substantially bigger with much more content than your average single player game. Having a big variety of content that suits the majority of the playerbase is (i.e. story instances and associated achievements, new zones with zerging and farming content) is perfectly fine but i feel as if player who want a bit more are completely left out.

From a business perspective, if you would “maybe” lose 1% of the players, but on the other hand have 80% happily doing the content you created, another 19% maybe not caring much – to me that would make more sense than binding production resources into whatever 1% might really love, but will be done with in 2 hours, and another 80% will moan about it and be unhappy with.

Fractals I think are a good compromise of being easy to get into and then getting “harder” – although I do understand that this seems not to be too true, as again people complain they are boring and not hard at all.

Maybe it would be best if they put more resources into making fractals “better”.

I could totally understand that if GW2 was marketed as casual friendly without any challenge from the start but the active combat with timed dodges, big hits that are clearly telegraphed which gives a general DS ‘light’ vibe, distinct aoe markers with boss mechanics that require a team to work together and the fact that explorable dungeons were advertised as rock hard to appeal to a more ‘hardcore’ crowd before the game came out are in contrast to what the game actually is.

I always had the feeling that this game was marketed as a “very casual” friendly game. No grind etc.

You might be oblivious to how hard certain content is for a large portion of the player base, but you should not be oblivious to the fact that this is how MMOs became so big in the first place.

The mighty big number one might have come out with a “raid” all the time and the hardcore crowd was bored with it after a week or two months having it on “farm” status, but they changed much over time as well – ask yourself why.

I would love for MMOs to be so much more as well! But some things are best left to other genres, be it solo RPG’s a la Skyrim, or platformers (?) a la Super Meat Boy.

Edit: Regardless, I am not trying to discourage anyone for asking what they think is reasonable, this is just what I feel to be reasonable when it comes to difficulty in MMOs.

That is correct. Unfortunately you can’t use one brush for the wide variety of players in a MMO. Single Player games you have the option of changing the skill level for yourself. Change the native hardness if you so will. You can adapt the game to your skill level. With MMOs you cannot – you can only take off your armour if you feel like it.

Spread your AOE love in Orr – temples, plinx etc.
Sell stuff you don’t need and buy T6.
Wait, you don’t have the precursor yet?

Edit: The new areas in dry top seem to be good as well, haven’t done it myself though.

Well what I like to do in mmorpgs is level up, get skills, do lots of damage, kill huge bosses, and have fun with friends.

Unfortunately leveling up is really fast here as you probably already noticed having a lvl 80. I can’t comment on the newer changes for traits etc, I leveled all my characters under the old system.
Do you know about the world bosses? Their spawn times are listed here on the website, but you can also check sites like http://guildwarstemple.com/dragontimer/
to see when they will be up. Hope that helps a little

World bosses like tequatl and the triple wurm are NOT WoW raids. They should NOT be instanced. Instancing is a way to cut people without guild and newbies from elite content. Truth is, most of the people I did tequatl with are pug and a few of them are newbies each time.

I know it’s a pain to organize however people still manage to pull things off. There are more important issues elsewhere than AFKing for tequatl.

I don’t think it would cut anyone off of anything. Maps are created, you will get into one. Those guilds formed because of the content, not in an effort to be elite – it is my understanding everyone can join and that’s why they had to make a few guilds.

The only thing that would change is that people would not have to start an hour in advance to fill one map fast.

Cool. I’m honestly not sure if I like the format. “Replaying” the whole thing, having to wait for most of the time until I can try again …

I did episode 1 once, didn’t get the two with the golem/golemites and since I’m not a puzzle jumper I only shrugged (edit: meaning when I got to those two achievements).

I think it’s great for people who like this … I don’t know why I should bother, I just don’t derive too much fun out of it personally, and 12 achievement points? Meh.

I enjoyed doing the achievements for the meta, but for some currency and keys? It just does not excite me, sorry.

I don’t see how see how a ban on manipulative buy orders could be enforced by ANet. For example, I have 1c buy orders for a bunch of dyes. Once in a while, I get a dye for 1c; that’s why I placed those orders. How could ANet reasonably determine that my orders are legit (i.e. I intend to make use of the dyes) and someone else’s orders are misleading?

However, I do support the idea of replacing that section with something more useful. Often, the listings are static, changing only a bit during certain in-game events. Instead, what about:

• Top Value Non-Legendary Items
• Trending Up
• Trending Down

Mhhhh … do you have 1 million buy orders for the same dye for 1c?

I thought this was more done for the external websites, I don’t pay too much attention to that list on the TP screen, I never found it useful for anything. The top value non-legendary might be a nice idea, but will probably remain very static. I’d rather have a “new on the market” or something like that.

I thought I had maybe pressed something wrong, my inventory sometimes becomes smaller. Doesn’t happen too often, 2 times maybe.

Windows, have to check settings, windowed mode, inventory not full, bags hidden.

I should get sand when I take off my boots. Every two steps, rinse and repeat. More immersive and has the same effect. The quantity will vary of course, big feet = larger boots = more sand.

Actually I’ve been thinking about this a little … I’ve said yesterday that even if you don’t have the episodes unlocked you can go to those regions etc. I can’t really test it but I would wager now that the maps are actually locked behind the story. Visiting the story with someone else will most likely tell you it’s not your story and won’t unlock anything.

Hence the account bound and new currencies etc.

Usually high level “humanoid” mobs.

But really it doesn’t pay off to farm for bags. Do a mix of dungeons (well in this case preferably CoF and CoE I guess) if you can, otherwise try dynamic events in Orr and spread AOE love plus do World Events/Bosses. Harvest your ori/ancient wood/passion flowers (while karka) in between, sell stuff on TP, buy molten lodestones. They are the same price as onyx (when I got them recently for buy orders) – you’ll have them in no time.

Seriously, farming directly just does not work.

I think this would cause the players who have no interest in lore to quit the game until the WP’s return.

Removing waypoints are a massive inconvenience.

Will be interesting to see if it affects the prices for items due to potential limited farming.
Maybe most people have enough alts to circumvent this.

Hard to tell, though if you check the gem shop it’s now confirm we will have two sets. A gem shop set (that looks worse to me based on the ad) and a ingame set (that looks sexy as hell to me based on the GS)
