Sorry, not right now. It is currently unknown if season 1 will ever come back like that, it was designed differently and according to Anet it would be lots of work to change it. If I remember correctly that came up in the first POI episode.

I love the ambrite weapons more than probably all the other weapons in-game combined and I just spent 2 weeks going back and doing all the Gates of Maguuma/Entanglement missions on all of my level 80s just for more lockpicks to open chests… and Out of 75 chests total since Dry Top came out… Only 1 fossil. All in T4 sandstorms. I don’t want them handed to me on a silver platter… but the drop rate for them from the chests is lame. I’d love it if they were at least tradeable with geodes or something, like the recipes. That’s at least a goal I can get into. I’m not very lucky at all so needing dumb luck to get fossils from chests is disheartening for me. Im getting burnt out on it

What content are you running? I’ve seen an hour a level as a rule of thumb. Sure starting from level 1 the first dozen or so levels are much faster than that but 80 levels in 14 hours?

The OP said the character is lvl 66 … ?

Wish granted – apparently you can trade them now. Does anyone know how many of those Sandy Bags of Equipment are needed?

Wrong way. People wanted to be able to trade them to other players (some anyways), not to the vendor for a masterwork champ bag.
And others wanted to be able to buy them from other people.

I’ve seen most people – the ones that did not get one yet – asking mainly for a more reliable way of obtaining them, usually in terms of an increased chance the more chests you open.

I still don’t know how much they cost, but this seems to make the geodes more interesting, not hiding behind keys and chests.

Edit: My bad, got that wrong anyways.

To be honest, I don’t consider those kites mounts. First – a mount for me would increase the speed of what is possible on foot – currently I doubt that will be the case, of course I could be wrong about that. Second – a mount for me would be something my character is “on top of” and I would not have to open my inventory to click on it but rather be able to use a key-bind.

We’ll see if it’s faster than 33%, my only other though, it might be great to free up some speed-traits etc.

Depending on what type of content you play you will be lvl 80 in under 14 hours played time. I would not spend any gold on equipment, it would only be a marginal speed increase, negligible in my eye – unless you find yourself dying lots of course.

I’ve never done this (with < 80), but you could try and check out some world bosses. If you don’t know where and when they appear there are websites like dulfy or the dragon timer on guildwarstemple. You should get some rare drops, if you are lucky they are your armour weight. You might have to discover the waypoints beforehand and some lvl 80 areas will be tough alone, but there are a good chunk in your lvl range.

Dragons are overdone.

Humans are overdone.

Aaaand they are part of the most dull bits of Guild Wars 2’s setting, if you ask the average player.

I disagree. Dragons have been asked for many times in particular with the LS. According to older numbers humans are the most played race. So I would argue that the “average” player very much likes these dull and boring traditional fantasy elements.

(…) I believe the Guild Wars 2 community would implode on itself and become a blackhole of rage if they implemented any sort of resources on Dwarves, when the community has been fawning over Tengu/Largos/already present minor races(Skritt and Quaggans namely) since pretty much the launch of the game.

That’s perfect! We have 5 races currently, now we’re adding 5 more! Double the mega feature content super patch! That shall silence them all. Not just one race, no, all. of. them. Tengu, Largos, Skritt, Quaggans and Dwarves! Personally at that point I would need at least 10 more character slots and I’d have a hard time deciding between what to start with, like a kid in a candy shop.

The only thing I am curious about … since Anet doesn’t want to do the PS cinematics anymore … would they still do it for something like this? Overhaul the system for all races?

Rouven.7409

I am one of those weird people that can appreciate both aspects. The chaos, not knowing what’s around the next corner vs the planned execution. There is something soothing in the whole group moving as one, mowing the mobs and bosses down, but the sense of wonder is missing, replaced by might stacking and other mechanics. However in this context that is always the case in maturing games, it can only be brought back shortly with new content, new dungeons if you so will.

I still remember the days when an item drop was always exciting (in general, not GW2 related). I had no clue about those numbers, but they were higher – that had to be good!

It is self induced pressure, for both parties. Finding the right people to play with is key and not always easy and both sides might often end up thinking that there is more of those “other” people around.

Being from a higher population server I would have liked that too. Not sure what lower pop servers might have thought about that.

RP’ers and Guilds were affected the most by this too. It wouldn’t have so bad, if they gave guilds better organization tools and a better guild UI to address some of the issues that megaservers caused.

No doubt about the RP part, there is a pretty large thread for that part.

Sorry if I misunderstood you. I however disagree. There are no additional problems created.

You had to guest previously – now you don’t in general – only for guild mission rewards.

Overflow existed as well, but admitted I don’t think it happened as often.

Ok, you knew that people you saw in general, other than being in overflow, where from your server. I don’t see talking to people that I am looking to invite into my guild as a chore though.

I belong to a guild with members from pretty much everywhere, as a matter of fact I believe I am the only current member in this guild that is on JQ.

I have not heard of most of the problems you have described in the OP. Perhaps these individuals could open tickets to see if here is another reason and maybe it’s possible to solve them.

Guild Missions – yes, in order to receive guild mission rewards people to have to “guest” to the main guild server. This is as far as I know the only existing reason to use the guest function currently.

“Taxi” – we do limit our parties to 4 people. That way the main officers can switch parties as needed and taxi anyone over to one map (usually only needed when doing guild events).

I don’t WvW but obviously that is something that does not work otherwise, I’d assume most WvW guilds recruit people right there or advertise as such in main cities.

Because I am the only one from that guild on my server I noticed the megaserver change quite drastically, I run into people from the guild on a pretty much daily basis now by accident.

Can I ask what your objection is to communicate with a potential candidate for the guild and find out that way what server they are from?

Edit: I’m leaving out issues with events like teq etc on purpose because I feel that’s not the purpose of this thread.

THAT is exactly my point. We don’t want to be a MEGA-GUILD. we want to stay a server based guild, but since the mega server put people from every server in the same instance/map/open world (whatever you wanna call it), and there is no definitive way to see whop is from the same server as you, it makes it very difficult to manage who is being invited to the guild from which server.

HENCE MY POINT: Same Server Colour Assignment – Problem solved!

Potential option for you, even if a bit cumbersome:

Add person to your friendlist, go to the leaderboard, check achievements filtered by friends. It tells you there what “world” someone originates from.

T3 cultural chest armor pieces can be sold for 3g75s.
However they cost 30g to begin with.

If you guys play together I’m sure you will pretty much roll over everything you encounter (open world PvE). If you guys are good friend for example and you will share loot among you – Mesmer and Necro are already two light armour classes, Ele would be another but Guardian is a heavy armour class.

Just a different angle, have fun.

I have 4.5m Karma. What should I do?

First, as Vol said, I would get the potentials for a Legendary out of the way, mainly the clovers. After that, if you go with the Orrian boxes, make sure you keep track on how many Obsidian Shards you get and keep enough to buy the rest. Consider more if you would like to do any ascended crafting.

Other than that you could research cooking and perhaps be lucky to find something there.

Or what others mentioned, buy low level cheaper karma gear en masse. While those are not salvageable you can throw 4x into the mystic forge and then get one piece out to salvage. A while ago it appeared that linen was the best option, it might still be good.

Be sure to double check this and know there is a lot of clicking involved.

Is it worth it to transfer servers?

Other than sharing the same guild bank the only reason would be for WvW as far as I am aware.

I forget where I’ve seen it but the answer pretty much was that there will be too many clipping issues. This is I would believe also the reason why they made the “outfits” what they are, biting the bullet because they could not solve this reasonably (within their own quality assurance).

This is not to say that I would not like to have this happen, I would like that very much indeed, but I’d wager that if we are not beyond the point of implementation that it will still take a while before it will happen.

Sort of the same reason why I don’t think Brahams Helm will not remove my beard soon and why I don’t think the Adventurers Scarf will soon look good (on that character) because of the beard.

I don’t think that’s what you wanted to hear and hopefully it turns out I’m wrong!

Who would win in a fight, a Charr or Norn?

Considering an asuran warrior deals the same damage as a norn warrior doing the same thing, I think in GW2 individual strength doesn’t matter at highest levels, because the armor you wear is an exoskeleton that greatly enhances your capabilities.

Game mechanics.

I am from Dark Souls school: Game Mechanics = Game World phenomena

A single norn can take out entire warbands, they cannot in game mechanics.

Wow, forgot about this thread. Anyways, wanted to refute this, just for the “hardy har har” effect. My single Charr toon can take out the equalivant of several warbands of Norn in game mechanics. All I gotta do is Whirling Wrath a few times and their out!

Endure Pain, ding – winning.
