“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Here are my fancy pajamas.
Is there some interaction with the sylvari glow at all?
Nope, you see no glow
Bummer, thanks though!
Here are my fancy pajamas.
Is there some interaction with the sylvari glow at all?
How did i even for just one second could think it would become something else than a gemshop item
You can get it for 80 gold or so. That’s not completely unreasonable. Granted, I’ll just be buying directly with gems because I’m way wealthier in real life than in game.
Thats not my problem.
It’s like this – you are the DM. Follow your own “adventure” within the given playground (big bad boss stole the princess garnments, or she lost the dress in a tree and you have to chop them all down until you find the right one) and once you earned 80G have it “drop” for you.
I might have just enough gold to pull that off for myself … mhhhh.
Any shots from the back?

Here is my somewhat flame legion themed charr:

Spider-charr, spider-charr …
Or maybe a doctor-ock-evil-spider-charr cross.
Awesome shot.

You’ve obtained something that you otherwise could not have obtained anymore. That’s what the tokens are for.
Otherwise I’m all pro extended transformation duration. Viva la robothion!
Edit: If it makes you feel better, I bought the sun helm … twice … there’s 800 tokens down the drain … doh!
And it looks like it dyes very nicely. Gotta check it out for sure.
Norn, no norn, I say every warband has the right to use all tools available. If they come in the form of other races so be it.
There is one reason why I would never buy a precursor.
That would be the only drop that would finally get back that “wow*” feeling instead of just going “meh, salvage/flush”.
*notthegame
It’s not “this playerbase”.
This is a repeat over many games over many years.
Really, in an environment where the use of in-game music instruments can cause a lot of friction, a genre that has basically invented the sport of going out of your way to annoy others – how come you are surprised at the general responses to your suggestion here in this thread?
I still think, that if the main idea is to save “time”, because other than not being able to complete a dungeon at all that really is the essence of it, why not avoid LFG completely?
I don’t know how these two things would help with someone “ruining world boss events”.
DPS meters were a fun thing to play around with in some games and I think everyone could benefit from it, but there simply are no addons – period.
I’m sorry that you are not happy with the megaserver.
Hello Needy. I’m Wanty.
I want
1. A grey robe for all so everyone can be Gandalf.
2. Everyone to be able to use all weapons … see #1.
3. Endure Pain for thief? Jk…
I definitely want more than you need, so it’s really ok
Ok, this might come across wrong, so just let me say that while the interactive environment idea is nice, I think there might be some other problems with that. Just a simple one on top of my head, are all of my firespells not going to work when it rains? Why does the snow not melt?
Pfffft, Scruffy is clearly in the content polishing department and not in QA. You lost me right there.
.
Unfortunately I can’t help you personally. But you might want to check this website out, you can search by race, gender, armour class and see what others have done that care about the looks. Or maybe ask for help.
(…)
Enter, the fossa:
This is a rare footage of King Oswald Thorn at a meeting during his reign. Please excuse the poor quality, the cameraman feared for his life.
(…)
I’m not sure if you’re being serious or not (either way it’s cool with me), but yes, somethings we take for granted may be rude in other cultures.
(…)
Yes, I am serious. Now as I think I said I don’t have an issue with this myself, bite me I am not 100% certain but I’m going out on a limb that it pertained to eastern cultures not really liking it? In that sense there might realistically be even a lesser chance of something like this being implement now.
Anyways, just food for thought, not that I think it would be the deciding factor in itself.
Yep, works both ways. And yep, did that, nice people btw but for some reason they did not like that slogan, so I wasn’t going to try to sell it and I did not bother with the copyright either
It’s a tough argument, cuz no one ever believes me, but i miss being able to casually view other people’s gear without having to bother them. (…)
Does that mean you are not buying my slogan? Mh, ok.
I understand where you are coming from. I’m fine with it. I do believe it’s considered rude in some other cultures to look without asking. Just going from memory about the inspect topic in a different game, can’t remember which one though.
Hey, I’ve done it too, didn’t want to bother the person and liked his shirt (so to speak). I’m shy.
Now exclusively in the gem store:
Beards for female characters!
Bamm, I like it. Can I make them really small and pretend I’m a female dwarf that didn’t turn into stone?
How come no one ever says – find or create a guild. Seriously, if you are in a group of like minded people you surely don’t have to inspect their gear, right? Elite Dungeoneers code of honour, I shall not do less than one gazillion DPS (pm me, I am selling the copyright to that slogan).
There is nothing wrong with that! Get together and finally play with other maximum efficiency oriented people, there are bound to be enough to warrant a 24/7 coverage?!
For the record, I’m all for it btw, best thing that could ever happen, because it would save my time and your time. No hard feelings from my side.
However, deep down inside you know the potential for drama and negative emotions.
There is some sneaky manipulation going on here, I am so disappoint.
Yes, I am kidding.
I read it a few times now, and maybe my mind wanders off all the time … but exactly what are these ideas supposed to accomplish?
So, let’s take the ranger longbow skill #1 – “does more damage the farther away your target is”.
Well, to some degree this makes sense, right? Because archers might use their bow as a sort of club once the enemy is right in front of them but they usually would not try to notch another arrow.
The other question would be, is this supposed to be a dungeon only idea?
Pack mentality, barking orders … ok, I get that, thanks
Also… what’s all this talk about work? I’m playing a game over here called Guild Wars 2, it’s really fun. But, I’m off to work at the bar in a few hours.
What is this association between bar and work? I’m going to be off to the bar in a few hours as well, it will be really fun!
Sorry, could not resist.
I have to say I’m hearing the dog part for the first time. Cat/Bull being the artistic inspiration was my impression.
Which part invokes the idea of a dog to some? Just curious, not judging.
I agree with the OP. While I’m happy that the folks in China get a chance to get these items, I’m still a bit disappointed that having Molten gloves or the Gas Mask no longer means you were there.
neonreaper said it best: it’s a memento of sorts.
If somebody showed me a chunk of the Berlin Wall, I’d be impressed! If they told me they got it from a flea market in California, I’d be much less impressed.
The point for me here is that Anet sold this as a feature. This is the main concept behind the LS.
Hey, is there some special WvW of PvP rewards missing that the chinese might not have access to? Hope I’m not poking into a bees nest a la “we never had special stuff”.
Otherwise I myself don’t need the supposed prestige status. I know where I’ve been and what I’ve done.
Loot = gold income for players.
By removing gold income, players resort to gems > gold. Or at least, Anet believes so.
Why do you think in the blogpost they included a reminder that you can convert gems to gold? That’s the first time they ever did that and it was suspicious.
Anet has nerfed every single farming event ever since release. I’m surprised they haven’t reverted dungeon rewards, as that is the only significant gold faucet now.
My theory, as far as the “new” form of advertising goes is that it somewhat started here:
From there it was like: We need more exposure on the fact that people can do that, they don’t think about it.
As for the rest … ya, I got nothing.
Just make the masquerade armour drop in PvE nao!
Hence forth we shall know that there is only one motto:
“Nothing is off the table.”
Edit: Btw I’m happy for any player who had missed the skins. Bonus points that the economy is protected here and we are not able to get those other skins. Now that bastion I don’t think will ever fall lol.
Dang. Not special enough because there are not enough complaints about (edit: “it on”) the forum. Well here’s a thought. Beat her naked with a shield only, no traits and no skills equipped otherwise. Record it. Put it on the internets. Link to it in your signature. Start complaint thread that it’s too easy. Make sure to remind people whenever the topic of “challenge” “rewards” or “content” in general comes up.
Ding. Winning.
You upped the difficulty and you earned epic rewards.
(edited by Rouven.7409)
We want a challenge, it has to be hard, there’s no need for super duper rewards, we just enjoy a tough fight. Moar challenging content!
Ok, here it is, but we’ll up you one and give you a title so you can show others at least that you’ve done it!
This is not rewarding!

You mean like if I want to look at my slayer achievements I don’t have to scroll down every time? I’m down with that.
I think they are cute, up until the point where they show me their piranha teeth and jump at me like mad gremlins. But of course the cutesy voices doesn’t help either, hehe.
Now to be fair, there are in general very few “uncute” options at character creation. Some charr faces are definitely not cute because the teeth and fangs are sticking out left and right, and some norn have scars or blind eyes. But that’s really it.
Big head on smaller body is very close to the shape of babies and we perceive them all as cute, be it a kitten, puppy or human baby.
Source for this? I bet you can’t find it.
Isn’t ArenaNet going to ruin the game by making their game more like all the other MMORPGs?
No. ArenaNet has specifically said that they are not trying to make another World of Warcraft clone. Their core ideals of accessibility, playing how you want to play, the ability to play with your friends, and not having to wait until maximum level to ‘begin playing the game’ have been prominently mentioned in the press for the game. The game also does not use the conventional “Holy Trinity” system of DPS, healer, and tank, but instead uses a damage, control, and support system. 1

Systems and Rewards Supporting the Living World
To make playing in our open world worthwhile, we’ll make it rewarding enough for players to spend their time there across all levels. It’s extremely important that we stay true to our philosophy that you should be able to play Guild Wars 2 the way you want to play the game in order to reach the most powerful rewards.

Fingers crossed that it will come back and that they will throw in the “grey” robe.
I mean it is supposed to be the look, right?
we’re not talking about removing grey “junk” items (I"m not anyway)….but the overall quality and quantity of items we receive is abysmal.
Sure thing, comes up all the time. I’m certain if I check my post history I mentioned rarely being exited about any kind of drops because most drops are just there to be salvaged or flushed anyways. One thing that I thought was well done was the dye drops … well those have been discontinued.
But getting rid of the beloved trash does not come up all the time and does deserve attention as well. It was the first point in the list after all
Ok, I just want to look at this from a wee different angle for a second. Junk is classic. It’s a nod to the genre. I mean they took away quests and exclamation marks, I can’t make a corpse run anymore, I might not miss some of these things, but this goes along the same lines as replacing your plain sword with a shiny one, maybe one with flames. Deeply rooted into the genre. Every Hero since 1876 picked up junk and some vendor gave him copper in return.
So tldr and such … #donttouchmytrash
Edit: Fixed the hashtag to make it more forumconform …
(edited by Rouven.7409)
Look, just don’t make a big deal out of it. I’m not playing as much as I used to and there are some things that bother me or I think could be done better and I will bring them up if the topic comes up, but I’m not going to post about how I didn’t play last month or how I had more desire to fire up Skyrim or mock up a list just to say I uninstalled a game because I’m oh so disappointed or maybe because my hard drive isn’t big enough. I’ve uninstalled even free games out of principle, no biggie, but I never went onto the forum and said “nanana I uninstalled this”.
Say your goodbyes in PM’s, or bring up constructive points to fire up a conversation.
That is “the same old song”, thank you for reminding me of that great song, I hope you liked it as well. Level long and play prosper.
Haha, ok my bad, I did misunderstand that. Yeah, gotta hate that if the “preview” does not match what you are getting (so to speak).
Ok correct me if this is wrong – you would like to know if the colour used on said hair accessory, as you provided the screenshot, is otherwise available in-game in form of a dye.
That is what I understood, I am very well aware on how the makeover kits work.
So, would you like to know
whether or not there is a dye called (I assume) pale pastel pink as you named it in your OP
or
whether or not there is a dye that would (if you could) dye the same accessory in the same way?
Did you actually test all available dyes?
(…)
Also, to the person fearing this game will turn into “Aion” and become “too Asian.”
I beta tested Aion, and it had Asian influence from the start. I highly doubt the designers who create the art for this game will suddenly change their style to be more “Asian-like.” That also sounds like a micro aggression towards a culture of people. Even if they introduced a new race that had a similar appearance, or even Canthan’s, that wouldn’t be so bad in a game where you can be a giant cat/bull thing or a tiny bug eyed mole creature with huge fangs or even giant mountain people. (…)
Umm, no asian-like was not meant to be a “micro aggression” as I’m sure that comment wasn’t meant as a “micro ad hominem”.
I’m all for Cantha. You might remember though who scrapped that and told the art designers what to do.
But (and I am serious) I agree that this should not be blown out of proportion. I still think it’s a bad precedence.
Btw and just for the record, “asian-like” was in reference to computer game genre, hence the example, and not in reference to the look of people. I liked the art and many other things about AION.
Its not that the dye itself is exclusive. Its that the bow in the hair in the picture the OP posted is part of the hairstyle, not armor. And hair accessories only have access to about 15 different dyes total, they don’t use the characters’ unlocked dyes or anything like that. There’s definitely no light pink option, the only pink is a very dark vibrant pink (almost magenta).
The dye almost certainly exists in game, or something very similar. You just can’t use it to dye hair accessories because they only use a stock set of available colors and not the normal dye system.
Which is why I suggested on top of my head two potential options for the OP to try out if the hasn’t – pink ice or peach ice?
I didn’t think it was a matter of the name of the dye (or colour) but whether or not it is obtainable and usable to match other parts of the outfit with the accessory?
Being able to dye the accessory yourself a different colour after character creation would be a different matter?
I knew I forgot something. I had a slice of buttered toast this morning, but forgot to take a picture. Sorry.
I could swear I’ve seen a picture of an omnomberry pie quite some time ago …
Edit: That’s not the one I was thinking of, but still awesome

Alternatively, its just promotional / concept art and they don’t always follow what’s possible in-game when they’re doing that sort of promotion art.
Well that’s sort of what I meant, it being hard to check not being in-game. You’d have to have the same lighting and find a piece of gear with the same fabric so that it dyes the same way and then check the available dyes.
The OP did not specify how he/she determined that the dye is exclusive and otherwise not available.
I’d almost think that would be a waste of resources to have an exclusive dye like that but it’s possible of course.
It would require two separate instances, which would require twice as much work to make changes to (for bugs/updates/etc.).
From a programming perspective, you want to prevent unnecessary data segregation.
There are two separate instances. They exist. One here and one there.
There are two separate versions of content. One with lvl 80 events – it existed since last time the content was played. One with lvl 16 content. It was created extra for the new server.
The programming has been done.
Updates are irrelevant as the lvl 16 version will be deleted for “next time” (obviously china will be at the same leveling curve by then).
I give you the bugs. Consider that the same price tag as it cost to appease the new crowd while alienating the old crowd.
I’m not sure what you are on about with separate instances, as far as I am aware we are totally separate from the chinese players in the first place. I will never interact in any way with anyone playing on a chinese server. As such there are no different instances necessary. The only thing would be NOT to make the change that HAS been done on the EU/NA server and only apply that change to the chinese server.
Other than that I would recommend kickstarter, seems like that is used for these things nowadays.
ArenaNet creates the instance. For EU/NA they then simply make that instance live on their servers. For China they send that instance to the company that runs the game there.
So yes, we are totally separate once live, but the content must still be designed by ArenaNet and they are not going to spend any more time than is necessary designing separate instances.
Ok, let me try this again.
No additional (!) instance will be created, the number of people playing is not affected by this (unless you assume that people in EU/NA will not participate as much – but now we’re almost saying that we should best only buy stuff in the store but not log in or play …).
The additional “design” of content was done to appease the new chinese market (there would be your extra cost) because the prior version already existed.
Thus my initial post stated an “exception for the start”.
I definitely do not expect them to design different versions of new content in the future.
But I absolutely do not hope that this product will change into an “asian game” – allow me to perhaps say AION because that is the closest I ever came to that.
Which you somewhat indicate: logic would dictate for them to henceforth only design “any type of content” that sells the most (assuming here that the game is more successful in the east than in the west).
It seems scary that you are not able to make such a minor change especially as an exception for the start. By that I mean having differently scaled events in the different territories.
Why? Because metrics will dictate that if the majority of china liked something, whereas EU/NA didn’t, we will still see that type of content going forward because you are not able to provide both experiences. This starts with aesthetics and goes all the way up to … content design (for a lack of a better term, meaning events, how things are achieved etc).
Well, if you are willing to give them about $1,000,000 a year to support the payroll needed to hire enough designers to unnecessarily duplicate work so that the servers can have separate instances, I’m sure they’ll take you up on that.

I have no problem with the pupils. They are supposedly an underground species so you could apply “nocturnal” tendencies and thus the cat like eyes.
Most likely a specific asura tribe that lived closer to the surface developed these eyes for the bright sunlight and the darkness underground.
Upscaling now does add significant complexity to China players, as their leveling curve and the points at which they unlock features and systems is completely different from the experience in NA/EU. The Labyrinthine Cliffs was absolutely designed with both territories in mind, and with those considerations, everything from the decorations to the content was geared towards providing a fun festival for everyone to enjoy.

I don’t think the OP is whining about the whining, but instead trying to find a way to communicate his/her insecurities about becoming insignificant to Anet as a customer, simply feeling helpless and as such might be a little bit angry as well.
Which is to a degree understandable since we are a tad neglected recently and even the current “patch” is actually not for us – even worse, it goes against what they said before (that LS skin rewards would be unique and not coming back).
Perhaps it’s time for that next CDI round
It’s really hard to say without being in the game – pink ice or peach ice dye perhaps?
