They said many times about how they will release major class balance and feature changes only at one big patch once a while not with every patch. You guys forgot so quickly. I am sure they read forums and are aware of all problems and if some of them has fast ways how to fix it it would be done long time ago.

Actualy it is. For Anet. More gold item coast more real money are spend on gems converted to gold. Its actualy pretty smart not so much drastic strategy.

I don’t feel any of these are needed.
The reason the grenade kit and bomb kit can have relatively high AoE damage output is due to the fact that the require some semblance of timing, positioning, and precision to land properly.
If you want to take that element away, you also need to give something else up, which will end up being the raw damage or condition output. I feel this would be an ultimately worse thing overall, so it’s better to leave it as is.
Other classes have skills with simillar base damage aoe without timing of positioning so if someone deserve new bigger candy its engi:-P

Basicly all classes with their best AA? I didnt do precise maths but when I run dung with fellow warriors for example our AA (Bomb) hits for pretty much same.

Grenades can be faster for sure. Imo what we need is change grenades to grenade launcher so grenade will be faster and it will loook more kitten:-)
Imo bombs will be great if lenght of fuse will depend on how long you will hold a button like if you just click it explode lets say in 0.1s delay but if you hold button before release fuse will be longer and also bomb will hit harder because delay in dps.

I sometimes feel like engi is trashcan of other classes for example look at Elixir X its just copy paste skills of other classes and we have much more of that. I think it will be same with legendary kits it will have super low priority if even any.

Nope its totaly different story:-) I used this strategy in Lineage 2 long time ago and made fortune on it. It works purely on theory of chaos what presume if you have group of people large enough some small part of them everytime starts react outside of classic rules or logic.
Simply there is always someone dumb enough to buy it only because its so expensive or it has unique name for example you can see it in real world all the time.

agrred with you in everything u said except zerg v zerg. As i said u got brains, but i hate your blob build still, because it’s just sucks big back kitten. It’s cool for you, but advertising it makes people really go that way and that way is kitttttttten for the class.
There are some classes and roles that MUST be in zerg because we used to that gameplay, but it doesn’t mean u can’t be usefull in zerg as they are.I can be same usefull with my engi as 80% of GWEN pugs on my server in blob =)
And i said that you seems got low expirience in organized groups like 15-30 people not the zoneblobbing kitten or smallscale. Guild raids gvg? no? IF u run pug zerg withkittenbest comi in the workld with 25 guys that doesn’t make this run organized =)
Well you have right I run pretty much only zone blobs or small scale up to 5 ppl our server pretty much havent those mid scale groups. I played quite a lot GvG 20v20 but with different builds. You know that I havent my other builds in signature doesm mean I dont play them:-P I have right now 11 builds for different situations:-)

1-3 engis in mid-sized zerg can bring alot, if they know what they are doing.
The biggest problem of the class is the players that are playing it. And "great"kittenengineers that claim they can’t fit in GWEN, they just haven’t learned their class and don’t know what other classes doing. People like Rozbuska, that are smart engineers but seems never played organized group and never tried to compare themselfes to other classes in mature way.
Most of the time i see kitten builds and gear. Very tanky, or even condi engis or ft taging machines.
Class is awesome for small groups, roaming and it’s very good for big zergs. Hard to master this class for most ofthe people, because not many people knows how to play it and when u will find the engi zerg meta by yourself you got maybe 0 engineers in your friends list that u could discuss it with.People that telling “what engis can do, other classes can do better” ? So if following this logic u don’t roll warrior because he don’t give u stability. The things that engi brings to zerg it’s his things, the things that guardian brings it’s his things, difference is u can have 6 guardians in your squad, but i won’t advice you to have 6 engis instead in 20-30 man squad. I’m playing engi/war/guard/necr. Most of the time engi, but i played other classes only wvw and i know what they bringing to zerg and what i can bring to zerg when i roll an engi.
Good constant dmg, healing and cleansing. LOW cc. Don’t dream, engis CC is low for large-scale. Yes we have enough survivability. ATM devs don’t even see the zerg engi meta because 90% of engis are really useless in 15-30 group, not because of the class though.
The movement and drill differs from other classes alot, u can’t move like warrior when u run bomb engiAnd i personally don’t like much when i lead on engi when i see other engis arround…..why? Because i don’t know what are they doing and there is no easy to pick META for them and i know that it’s hard finding right build and stats without any good engi on a side, cause i went through tones of kitten builds with kitten stats to get where i am atm and i can’t say yet that it’s 100% perfect, but i can say for sure that i bring enough to my zerg to count as usefull unit as much as anyone from GWEN. Most of “great engis” is perplexity confusion spammers that need 0 skill master that roaming engi meta and after they stack 20 stacks of conf on enemie they don’t go zerg, they don’t try to invent and break the GWEN meta because it’s much easier and becasue they have “fake” statements of the class and low understanding of 15-30 groups fights.
Keep on going. If u apply to a guild with engi u must proove that u’re the right one and won’t be just an anchor for the group.
I agree engis are great for smaller organised fights (and I played lots of them dont worry:-)) but we talk here about zerg vs zerg fights where 50+ ppl are stacked on commander trying play deathball and simply engi dont fit very well into this strategy.
I dont say we are bad we can do everything like other classes but engi has much higher skill cap in it and that imo is reason why ppl play rather other easier classes and why many engis are really bad witch is again reason why other classes dont want engis in their teams.
What I want to say mistake is on both sides – other classes dont understand capabilities of engi and lots of engis dont understad their class too.

Sad true is engis are really bad for team fights. No in damage or survability we are great in it but there is very few things what we can offer to zerg. Yes we can offer fields and finishers but our blast combos are quite hard to manage and take long time so its almost impossible to manage it in hectic fight where you must still moving. Also our stability is joke. Other classes can offer simillar things but they have much easier and faster access to it.
Problem is engi is least played class and only very very very few of them are actualy good enough to manage all those thing engi need to know and use to compete other easier classes so majority of player thinks engi is bad from its nature not because its bad class but because its not warrior what you learn to play in few minutes.

I’ve found myself enjoying playing with turrets, ‘cause they attract enemies which is veery valuable for me in PvE, as a consequence the build should contain one turret (and the healing one, having this AoE skill is pretty nice when playing with a friend).
Any build which isn’t bad (value-wise) and fits my conditions?Imo bombs do more dmg with zerk gear and static discharge is pointless with your choice of toolbelt skills (they are no targeted so missing almost every time). Turret to attract enemies?:-P Man you need delete engi create ranger and pet some Bear:-P Only reasonably usefull turret in PvE is rifle one and only because of that low cd projectile toolbelt skill usable in sd builds.
the other turret that can work is thumper turret because you can overcharge it, detonate it, then use the toolbelt skill for 3 quick blast finishers on about a 45 sec cooldown. the elixir gun can keep up 3 blast finishers over the same amount of time, but the thumper turret is for a burst of might/stealth for bosses and such.
True but blasts are very noneffective way to keep might stacks as engi especialy without some might duration runes and you loose dmg output by those turret in slot too.

I have just one advice. If you rush 50 points and GWAMM like I did just before GW2 starts use Ritualist as your main it makes lots of challenges much easier.

What we need is something for party and that I mean something what dont involve pressing gazilion of buttons and needs our full attention. For example why we cant have backpack regenerator for all around instead just for us. Same for example Med Kit why its drop only those tiny bag for one use while other classes buffs and heal all around.
Imo engi is in great possition if we look on himself we can easily stack 25 might, large amount of healing ect and is great while you farming solo/roaming in wvw but we are not in singleplayer game.

For me it was that very last ending party in DR where they all talk what just happend and while they talk I looking into history achievments and remember all those things what I ve done in S1 (and I done all of them) then I step outside and there was that short animation with “to be continued..” Its totaly get me:-)

Hammer War is free kill its just matter of dodge:-) Turrets are ultimate counter for thieves and mesmers imo.

Imo idea using utility instead elite is great for example can utility skill/kit be 33% stronger (higher dmg, lower cd) in elite slot. It will bring another layer to build making and it will be more like gw1 where you made build around your elite skill.

bomb kits work well with some healing stats too. A guildie had his engineer specc’d for healing (main stat is healing), and his bombs heal for around 1k per bomb, and that’s quite a lot tbh.
They not even with maxed healing power bombs heal only for like 300.

Engineers biggest weaknes is is stability especialy in WvW and no toss elixir B is useless. Also we need something for group more than blasts.

You can try mine PvE build what I am using for general pve, solo farming ect. You can easily switch grenades for something else like tool kit for example (dont forget switch grenadier trait too). perma 25 stack of might and vulnerability you will melt everything in like 2sec:-)

Isn’t hair trigger theoretically better than rifle mod since you use rifle for only blunderbuss and jump shot?
As mentioned before, sitting duck is terrible.
Actualy if you use it with bomb and tool kit it make ideal rotation (jump shot 16s pry bar 15s)

Utility instead elite is quite good idea. Maybe it can go even further like utility in elite slot will be slightly better then in utility slot – shorter cd, longer buff ect. It can add another layer to making builds more effective.

- It must work for PvP and PvE/WvW.
- Also it must work with legendary stat switching many of us will make legendary armor just for it. – It is most important thing what also involve rework sigil/runes so we can switch them on legendary aswell.
- Some way how to quick switch it on the fly without too much hero panel browsing. Something new in UI or keybind will be ideal.
- It must be shareable at least in chat and saveable by rightclick from chat.
There also can be some advanced features like autoload certain build in different situations like entering specific dungeon ect.

If you play hybrid condi power dmg with grenades pick short fuse if you use bombs and power gear you dont need short fuse because your main dmg is bomb 1.
In Firearms take Rifle Mod and Precise Sights.
Modified Ammunition is best if you kill mobs while stacking (mobs dont move) if you kitting Bunker Down is way better.

Its not gold sink. I have 4 characters every with 2 500 crafts you dont buy character slots or even exp them so Its not gold sink (swapping for those few silver like twice in month is irelevant). Gold sing will be if they add another 6 craft slots and all those ppl spend thousands of gold on those slots and another thousands on leveling up those crafts again.
