Obviously this build was not made for actual PvE, but the dev was saying stuff about raids, so maybe we can hope this spec can be useful there

I know its pvp oriented but still:-) Actualy Shredder Gyro + Electro Whirl + Fire Field + Sinister build oh man condi builds in pve will become even more potent

Gating hammer behind clearly defensive traitline while it have awesome offensive capabilites is incredibly bad decision.

why you would ever think it wouldn’t be locked behind the specialisation is beyond me. all the other specialisations are required to use their weapon, why would engineer be an exception?

Lets look on Scrapper after what we saw on POI (sorry for bad english tho)
So I have little mix feelings here. Hammer is fantastic but when I saw Gyros I was like ‘thats it?’ Obviosly this need lots of work so lets give devs some constructive feedback shall we?
Lets take it skill by skill, trait by trait

Hammer
Skill #1 - Pretty standart autoattack but did we really need more ways to stack Might for self? We have like 5 ways with this one and we was able keep 25 stacks perma before. This is bit unnecessary overkill. Also all our Mightstacks except blast are selfish what about make this little PS and give something to allies? Or stack Fury instead of Might that would me much more handy imo.
Skill #2 - This one is very nice nothing to improove for me.
Skill #3 - From tooltip is range of this is 1000 and that is cool but on video it was just this little leaps like 100 range. It should be definetly longer.
Skill #4 - Nothing to say here its cool skill
Skill #5 - Coolness overload:-)

Gyros
Here is where it get bit worse. I see some major problems here:
- they have HP, thats make them completly useless for no reason. Like they are up just few seconds why cripple them by HP pool?
- where is that gloryfied fuel system? We all expected something like Revenant energy bar or something where will gyros share fuel and stuff. Why do you even bother name that fuel just say ‘it will stay up for 15s’.
Lets talk about particular Gyros:

Medic Gyro - Basicly dont see any reason why take this over Healing Turret. Low heal, high cd, no condi removing. Toolbelt waterfield well nothing what we havent elsewhere.
Bulwark Gyro - This one would be pretty good without that HP pool. Like fantastic one especialy to WvW. HP pool makes it just meh. Toolbelt is quite good just cd is bit too long 15s will be that perfect spot
Blast Gyro - It looks pretty good but cant imagine take it over some kit. Toolbelt. This one deserve aoe stunbreak aswell.
Shredder Gyro - This one I like most and I definetly see this in my dung build. Problem is again HP pool. It will be go down on 2 hits. Tool belt is also pretty decent maby it should be bit longer.
Purge Gyro - Probably worst Gyro. Clunky and do almost nothing. Toolbelts is also just meh
Sneak Gyro - Mobs attack this Gyro so it useless for pve. Ofc HP pool is another donwside. Toolbelt is great.

Traits:
All traits in this spec are just .. mediocre I dont see nothing really cool here. They are pretty ok but just unnecessary and some should be totaly replaced by something cooler.

Minors - they are ok I guess just dont see any point to have cd on functional gyro especialy for finishing.

Shoking Speed - It would be great if not icd. This way its just meh
Stabilization Core - Good one
Recovery Matrix - Protection on heal isnt bad but it could be a bit cooler what about resistance instead?

Rapid Regeneration - Great one
Exper Examination - Also nice one
Mass Momentum - And coolest one but again why only self? Where is better group support we still asking about?

Adaptive Armor - Very nice defensive one. Condi defense should stack up too imo.
Final Salvo - This one is just meh. Good for adept but not grandmaster
Perfectly Weighted - Unnecessary icd. Sould also reduce hammer recharges.

I think fuel will work simillar to Revenants energy – so more gyros up – faster fuel will go out. Now it depends on how it will work. Best will be if gyros are upkeep skills without cd

We already have all stealth for dungs we need.

I think there may be an “ease of use” factor here that will make this more popular. Also, if this thing has a decent lifespan (fuel supply), then it may be able to keep an entire party stealthed for a fairly long time, with a moving stealth field. Of what we already have, what best compares to that?

Thats true. All now depends on how that fuel will works.

as someone who doesn’t PvP or WvW, I’m underwhelmed as hell.

the big profession mechanic is utterly useless in PvE unless there is someone dying nearby, and the elite is purely a PvP ability considering how insanely situational stealth is in PvE for non-thieves.

consider that for the elite mechanic revenants get a new legend, necros get a new death shroud, mesmers get to save-scum, and thieves get a third dodge, the ability to rez/finish someone at range is so situational outside of PvP that unless HoT adds a LOT of finishable enemies like the toxic alliance, it may as well not exist.

First we all know and it was stated by Anet since begining that primary balancing is around pvp. Since we have lots of approaches in PvE already I dont see any point in adding basicly same builds.
Also we dont know what mechanics will be in raids and you can find out that all this PvP stuff will become very handy on new encounter types.
In case of hammer we still dont know all skills and numbers but I see there some potentional to replace rifle in zerk builds and if there will be good numbers on autoattack we can even remove one of 3 kits from rotation for something else. Who knows

Ideas for Pact Commander like Masteries

So now we all know that in Pact Commander mastery we will get full autolooting. Imo its great idea and I totaly support unlocking some features by Mastey way. So lets suggest some other features what can be part of this mastery or some simillar in future.

Commander’s Personal Hawk – Basicly option what will permanently turn on all objects like when you holding CTRL.

Consuming Commando – Bunch of excited skritts will help you use up to one stack of consumables at the time.

Hall of Saves – First level allow you save one build per gametype. Last level will have unlimitted slots for builds and also will swap stats on your equiped legendary items

Agromining Lumbiac – Radius in what you see nodes will be increased up to whole map. Chance to bonus resources will be increased. 10% of all node will become Rich for you

Event Horizon – Radius in what you see active events will be increased up to whole map, you will also see where are currencly inactive events.

Master Traveler – Waypoint coast will be reduced pu to free. Top mastery will allow you port to contested waypoins (PvE only).

Any other ideas?:-)

Not all casuals run to the forum when they fail at something.

Some may try it to see just how too hard it is for them. And then move on to areas that are better suited for them happy that those who enjoy difficult content finally got some, or keep trying over and over again to try to beat it. Not all casuals demand super easy content or are unhappy when content that’s too hard for them comes out.

I know not all ofc. But sadly majority do.

Okay by your example i would not be a casual, of those three the only thing i do is not run the Meta builds.(which ive never noticed a decrease in my performance). I the proper armors and such and know almost all the encounters in the game, so by your example, i wouldnt be a casual then?

By the one above you however, on any given day but the weekend i would be considered a casual.

It have nothing to do with your playtime. If hardcore player fail in some encounter he will brace himself and do everything he can to overcome that dificulty. If casual player fails in encounter he goes to forum asking for nerf and wait till it happen or leave game with cry.

First define casual, please? Like, im a casual player by my definition, i dont play the game everyday, and i dont play for long when i do. But heres the thing, im really good at PVE stuff which is what raids are, beat Liadri after learning it, and trying many times(Which is how raids should be, they should be hard, but they should be doable to those that learn them). I suck at PVP, or any form of competitive fighting or scenarios. So am i casual? What is a casual?

In case of pve its simple do define casual player:
- dont have proper gear
- dont have proper build
- dont know encounters

Basicly everyone who told you stuff like “I play this game as I want” is consider as casual. I dont wanna say its bad thing to be casual its perfectly fine.

This is definetly something what must be there. Without rune swapping is whole idea of selectable stats just pointless. I never ever change stats on my lege weapons because of sigils. Pls Anet we will love you even more for this.

Condi dps is best now if you use it on training golem but in real enviroment it have lots of disadvantages. Lots of bosses like Alpha in CoE periodicly clear condis. Condis are useless on stuff like burrows in AC. Not mention that majority of bosses are long down before that 14s theshold if you run with good party. For soloing are condi great but personaly I will stick with zerk to HoT release and then we will see.

Sinister have a good amount of power so yes you gonna kill stuff like burrow a little bit slower, but it will never be an issue in a group. The only thing is maybe not volunteer for the door at CoF path 1. But other than that, it will never be a problem. It’s not like object are hard to kill. Of course if you run Rabid, it’s another story.

Boss ain’t long down before the 14s. If you do the list, there is 19 bosses that die under 14 second and 23 bosses that die in more than 14 second. And those numbers come from record runs. Something that even most good party can’t achieve. In a good party you probably only gonna kill under 14sec for 8-9 bosses. In normal pug, almost no bosses die under 14sec.

So Zerker will be better in some situation, but Sinister will be better in other. In a good group sinister will be good in Arah, HotW, CoF path 3, SE, TA Aetherpath. Zerker will be better in AC, TA, CoF path 1/2. While the rest will be pretty close either way. In most pugs, Sinister will mostly always be better.

But you are absolutely right about the bosses that clear condi. Which is a mistake in my opinion. They should modify that.

I have full asc sinister and in my usual run with regular party (me, war, guard, 2x ele) I experienced few problems with that low power dps simply. Ofc its nothing major its just not as comfortable as it should be. Also if your party is builded around 4 IB is lower power output bad idea.
Best idea will be switched sets and builds as necessary

Sorry, but no. I’m not prepurchasing it to even take part in something that you will even get more profit (beta testing)

This doesn’t mean I won’t buy HoT, but seriously, I won’t pay to play a buggy weekend where I will probably loose my progress, I can wait

Also, I hope that collecting all of the masteries will actually take a little longer than originally leveling from 1 – 80, unless they are able to introduce new masteries a lot faster than when they expect players to be completing the original 7 masteries.

Not sure where this info came from on it taking the same amount of time as getting from levels 1-80 -> but simply put it’s incorrect.

A) We haven’t decided how long it’ll take to earn them all, and are doing beta weekends to help decide a good time length.

B) Currently as timed in game today, it would take a good deal longer than that in total game hours to earn all the mastery lines.

Ultimately – check it out this weekend and let us know what you think!

Good to hear this. It definetly should take at least 10 times longer then level up one character. Actualy imo every single mastery line should take at least same time as level up one char.

GW2 esport acts basicly as zombie. Still trying to predent its alive. 99.9% of gw2 players dont care about esport here. Devs obsession with esport cripple other much more important parts of game and its srsly time after 3 year to stop pretend that its gonna change.
Gamescom should be place to show something new juicy and important not tournament where few ppl care only because of insane price pool. I am basicly fanboy but this was worst game presenatation so far sry to say
