Ÿou know things like “new weapons” or “Increased level cap” sound really cool on paper but it dont bring that much in game. I personaly like they are focused on expanding current mechanics and making them more deep.
Ppl often complain about there wount be enough new maps and I always look how many maps orginal game have and how much time I spend there and now how much time I have in dry top and sw and how much more I enjoy less maps with bigger density of stuff and features.
Quality over quantity you know?

Exping engi is the least fun I had more fun exping guard what I made only as pack mule. Unlike other classes make engi effective you need many chained skills specific gear, runes, sigils, traits what you simply havent while leveling so engi feels very weak. Engi starts be fun after 80 and you get more fun then with all other classes together trust me just be patient.

Turrets dont need any buff but also any nerf imo not be able to deal with turret engi is L2P issue nothing more:-)

Ï dont wanna yell hooray yet because I tested it only for past 2 days in dungs but I think I found source of this problem. Its Autotargetting (in options) and mobs in target in general. Without that mobs mostly ignore me and agro works as expected with it on.. Oh boy:-)

I personaly still playing and enjoying my hybrid condi turret roaming build and I must laugh everytime someone talk about how turret builds arent viable in TPvP becuase I dont loose fights very often at all and those super op meta cele engis often die under my feets:-)

Engi at low levels simply sux. You need to hold up because simply it becomes awesome at lvl 80:-)

There are some bosses what you can counter like you say but other what you simply cant like that instant Alpha tooth attack in CoE 1 or trash bandits in CM what hits you for 50% and then you die on 25 stacks of bleed befor you can even use turret. Another good example are devourers from that first burrow in CoF 2 where you stack behind that pillar. No matter how many you dodge or block they jumpung on you whole time while left rest of the team untouched like almost every time. I agree there are bosses with clear mecahnic but most of them you simply cant counter by mechanics no matter how good you are
Alpha’s earth attack is dodgeable. If you’re not fast enough to recognize the animation, you’ll have to predict the attack, which usually isn’t all that hard. If you’re still having trouble, run 6/6/0/2/0 with invigorating speed and infused precision.
The cutpurses in CM usually use their 12-bleed death blossom when they reach you or soon after, dodge/block it, then blind the rest of their attacks and kill. If you’re facing riflemen or bombers, start off with Toss Elixir U, focus down any bomber(s), and blind/CC any riflemen that outlast your wall.
For the devourers in CoF, chain blinds, and if you’re fast, precast toss elixir u and switch back to your regular skills before you enter combat to deal with the ranged ones. If you’re still having trouble, consider crating immediately.
Dude.. I know how to counter that and if I will need vigor I will take it. That was just example where is engi clearly target more often then he should. You guys dont understand one thing. We dont die there. We dont complain about dying because thats not a case.. We talking here about clear bug in game where engineers are focused without reason.

I used to have this problem. For example, Sure Shot Seamus would focus me 9 times out of 10 in his shotgun phase, and several other bosses as well. I died for a bit, then got better and stopped dying. I realized you could literally sidestep every blunderbuss he does, so I started moving so that he would face away from the rest of my team and sidestepped every attack while DPSing. Other bosses have similar attacks that need to be dodged, moved out of, baited, blocked, etc, and once you learn those they’re fairly easy. Trash mobs are even easier, with blind completely negating 95% of their attacks, and CC to negate the rest, so you barely even need to know which attacks to dodge/kite/etc.
TL;DR: get good

I main engineer, playing him all the time in dungeons. My opinion to this;
As someone allready mentioned, if you feel like you die to much, dont go full zerk. I dont know how you play, and what skills you use, but im sure that the class offers more than enough ways to negate damage, reduce damage, fill endurance, clear condis, break stuns, heal yourself etc.
I remember that when i switched from tankier gear to full zerk i felt extremely fragile too. Bit it really is just a matter of time until you get used to it.
Dying is not a problem (I mean we never die in zerk) at all its about focus where mobs clearly have some strange behavior when they meet engi

I’ve just test my theory.
Results ? Hybrid builds (which deal both physical and conditions) have higher priority in mob’s aggro than pure builds.
Meta engineer with granade kit inflict tons of various conditions and this couse that aggro.
Try to shorbow ranger in zerk gear on meta events ^^ Every champion will fallow you not forty man zerg.
Its not that beside I dont run that so called meta build and other classes also have condis on their skills. No matter what you do you can even wait few seconds and start attack later then rest of the party and still after one hit you are again primary target.
I tested it in multiple gears from zerk to soldier in multiple situations and result is same

I have exactly same problem. There is clearly some bug what make engi target more often and I dont think its something with gear dps or range. Its also one of those reason why I never use Scholar runes.

What geartype ars you guys currently using in fractals and dungeons?
Assassin/Zerk mix is most effective for engis but you can use pure Zerk aswell.

GW2 rewards players regardless of playstyle (usually). so in most cases u can get the gear you want thru more than 1 method.
if u want to play a game where there is only 1 path to getting specific loot, then there are countless other games.
if u want to play a game where u can (again usually) play the way u want and still end up w/ high end gear, then u can continue to play gw2.
someone else’s achievements/play style shouldn’t invalidate yours. you earn your gear how u want, and feel good about it. let other people earn it the way they can, and let them enjoy it.
Sorry but buying legendary with credit card isnt playstyle. Its not play you how you want because you dont play you simply bypass playing. When you buy milk in shop you also dont pretend you are cow because you have milk right?

Engi is great in dungeon runs and good player can replace guard or thief in speed runs with reflect and stealth, engi have one of highest dps in game, can keep 12 stacks of might on party and 25 on self, can keep perma 25 stacks of vulnerability. Also dont forget on great support from heal turrent and eg.
Engi can have tons of those little things in one buid what make speed run really comfortable.
For example at start of CoE you can agro spreaded mobs by nades (witch is often problem for other classes) into corner where they harmlessly jumping in smoke bomb and then by elixir F you let champ spit his deadly frost attack into emptiness..:-)
Ofc ppl often dont wanna engis in group because they are dumb but its another story what have nothing with our beloved class.-)

ah, so you want to be selfish, not letting anyone who can’t get it through crafting get a legendary.
let be guess, you already have one…..
Thats why they call it legendary you know? Some ppl have their understanding completly wrong. I dont wanna offend someone but if some casual player what spend in game 3 hours per week dont deserve to have legendary just because he spend real money on TP.
Legendary gear should be mark of very experienced and dedicated player.

What do you consider “never fixed gadgets”? I didn’t know gadgets as a whole were broken. I have seen rocket boots and utility goggles used regularly since release. I now see very many using slick shoes. I even see PBR used on common enough occasion. They all function as intended to my knowledge.
I would hardly base your dislike of the cool downs and functionality of AED as an applicable bases to declare the entire utility set as “never fixed”.
I may said “underpower” but fixed also. Number of glitches iven increase over time e.g. rocket boots random direction change ect.

Beside charging quartz you can get some from mining quaztz node chance will be around 10% imo. One is in home instance and I also 2 or 3 in Dry Top including rich one. Just switch maps there and mine them over and over.
I’ve only ever gotten Charged Quartz Crystals from the home instance node. The Dry Top nodes have only given me the normal quartz crystals so far. And since I’ve been farming those religiously ever since Dry Top opened, I feel reasonably confident in stating that Charged Quartz Crystals can only be mined from the home instance node.
I dont mine those in Dry Top regualy so hard to say what that chance really is but I mined there at least 2 charged already

Wars and and Guards arent uber at all dont trust those “elitepugs” on lfg they usualy know very little about how great engi can be. You need only one banner slave in party more Warriors is waste of dps potential even Guard has more dps than War.
Engi have 2nd best dps in game, best party condi removal, can keep alone 25 stacks of vulnerability and 12+ stacks of might on whole party at same time, can offer same amount stealth as thief with faster stacking, can chain perma reflect witch make guards walls looks like joke and I can go on and on with pros. Egni can do anything like other classes sometime better but is very hard to play right.
Only problem is pugs just dont know. Find decent guild where ppl know how great engi can be in every situation and be sure they rather kick useless Warrior to take you instead.

All engi skills has shorter cooldowns. Its compensated by very bad condi removal and no stability. When engi blocking he cant do anything else so just wait 3s.If you mindlesly throw all your cooldowns into his easy recognizable block its just L2P issue.

I was always pvp player in most of mmos I played in past but here.. I dont know all works like a charm but still. I dont see any motivation and I dont mean only rewards. Some even temporary progressions.
Good example if it is WvW where you over and over fight for points but battle dont move enywhere. I played before Warhammer online where was basicly same open pvp system like here in WvW but with 2 sides instead of 3. What was amazing there wasnt only keeps what you capture back and forth. There was whole campaign where you first capture 2/3 realms at once they capture main fortress then assault main city in 3 stages and then fight enemy king and if you won their city with unique dungs and rewards was open for you for next 24 hours. Something like this we need here.
What I personaly want in SPvP? 1v1 arenas, ladder, tournaments. I am not team player I want just kill opponents and dont care about capturing points.

I prefer Strength over Scholar because its much better party support with might while dps is just slightly lower (its like 2% or so). Also engineer (maybe only mine) is like everytime primary target for every mob in zone so keeping HP over 90% is often very hard.
