I understand it can be a frustrating for new players but look at that from veteran player perspective. We run dungs because its profiting not because its fun and usualy with low levels, newbies what dont know strategy, players without speedrun builds those runs take much longer and that can be also pretty frustrating and some ppl simple dont have that patience to teach strategies and carry lowbies everytime thats all. When you run that dungeon every day past 2 years you wanna do it fast and smooth.

I must agree. Variety of choices in daily need major upgrade and redesign. System itself is very good but tasks itself are just dumb.

Well this is not classic mmo system where you stay on place and watching spells folowing targets. You must adapt on our combat system
.
- Its need time to learn what effect on screen are what. Enemies can dodge or sometime even step out from your attack, they can break your stuns, they can reflect your dmg back on you its simply something you must count with.
- First off start practicing on npcs in pvp lobby they are as good as scriptet class npc can be. When you beat them all with minimal harm you are on good way.
- Create all classes and briefly look what their skills and traits do. And what is more important look how those skills looks because every spell have its own unique animation and sound.
- Later go on sites like metabattle.com and look on builds of other classes not only because you can use them but because you can study what build ppl curently runing most of the time, what are they capable of in combat ect so you can prepare your own counterstrategy.
- You will need build. You can be pro player butyou will be just average because your build sux. Creating your own good working build can be for new player very complicated. So go on sites and use some of metabuilds first, study them, learn how synergies between skills traits, runes, ect works. And later you can try your own build perhaps:-)
- You can limited mess on screen a bit by turning off some graphical options. In graphic setting turn off Post Processing and check Effect LOD, also turning off shadows can help with orientation

The game is great but the forums are bursting at the seams with trolls and the bottom-if-the-barrel scum.
Seriously though, enjoy the game.

Dont know if intended but ppl use it for a quite a long time for turning karma into gold by salvaging forged items into linen. I cant say its extremly profitable but you can make lots of gold. Its also boring as hell:-)

I usually don’t use this trait but in a quick PvE test it worked 100%.

I am using this long time and it works before without any problem. And its not only visual bug bubbles simply dont pop up.

I quite like personally that Engineer is the under-dog, it means we don’t get too many people on them and thus they are less likely to get nerfs
But yeah, the general GW2 community seem to think Engi is bad. Those who know they’re good, really know they’re good, and those who don’t know, think they’re trash.
For example, I was doing CoF the other day and a Warrior was arguing with me about how bad Engineer was, his main point? how Warrior stacks more vuln… sure :P
Meawhile its actualy warrior who is average in damage and utility:-)

You can. Go full zerk, max crit and dps, level up your arrowcart mastery and build superior arrowcart there its only way how you can do something with attackers as engi from the wall:-)

I have basicly everything what you can have in this game, all 4 legendaries what my engi can use, 4 ascended armor sets, minis, almost all skins, tonics, finishers, tons of gold, achievments you name it..
Why I coming back? Hmm at first I never left I play over 10 hours every day since launch an I play it because its simply fun and I still enjoy every part of this game. Majority of players are overfeeded by all this amazing stuff here they dont even realize how amazing this game is.
If you are bored I have one advice for you: Pick any other mmo on the market and go play it for few hours/days. I assures you you will come back with endless love:-)

I dont understand why this option dont work everywhere. Its not only good for pvp but also it can help players with old pc imo.

This is actualy excelent idea. Excluding those toxic ppl from matchmaking and therefore longering their queue times is much better punishemnt for them then just dishonor. But it can also revert into bad way where groups of ppl can diqualify key member of competetive teams by this way.
Imo idea of punishing ppl after someone add them into block list (lets say it will only apply effect when you met them in match so you cant punish random ppl just by blocking) is interesting but punishes can also come from different ways like temporary decrease amount of reward point after match for example.

Build manager was essential part of GW1 and before launch we somehow expected it will be automaticly core feature of GW2. Noone even bother to think it dont will be there.. Imo its one of major reasons why pvp fail as esport just from begining.
There was CDI about that few month ago so we can only hope it will asap.

Usualy there are not macro users just players with quick fingers or even players what dont understand class mechanics. Other day I was accused by some “Legendary Champion” (God every noob has this title these days..) for using macros while only thing I did was using mine field under his feets and those mines instakill him. Simillar it was from my guildies what ask me after 5k hours played what cheat it is when engi do nothing and keep him knockdowned (Slick Shoes). It took me 5 minutes to convince him that skill actualy exist in game since launch and its not cheat or macro.

Guys for a moment stop thinking as players who think devs abbandon them and look on this from economic side:
- They spend 5+ years and milions of dollars to develop this game, why should they abandon chick what laying golden eggs?
- Compare to other mmos gw2 doing extremly well numbers of players almost not drop and since launch there was no server merging that pretty unique. Due to NCSoft report they earn half a bilion on 4 months and they are only studio what wasnt forced to fired some employee.
- They are company and companies want create money dou you think they have 300+ employees on paycheck what do nothing? Dont be fools guys.
They are working on something trust me:-)

Actualy Anet never wants get rid of trinity they simply want be able to play all roles with single class and you can do that. Content is easily doable just with dps focus but thats not problem of class design

It sounds great even when it will be much more difficult to make then it was in gw1. Only problem is player base in gw2 is faaaar more casual (I wish there is some word even for casual casuals) then it was in gw1 and whole dev team will drown in tears 5 minutes after this feature will launch:-D

98% of my games are from hot joins. You know why? Because I want join quicky without queue into map what I like without messing up other ppl leaderboards or what kids these days play for. I want kill ppl in pvp and I dont care about winning or losing match holding points or stuff like that.
Autobalance isnt perfect but is still better than play in unranked 4v5 vs premades all day. In hot joins is actualy much better chance to met good opponents what want fight instead of run of because “its for team”.
And thats why removing rewards from hot joins is bad idea because its only place I will play until devs add some serioous DM mods or better 1v1 arenas. So deal with it.

Yea that melee smashing feeling is somethig what engi really missing. When I completing maps with my guardian I like killing trash mobs because swinging and hitting with that big sword is so satysfying you know. With engi nothing have that instant response that hard hitting sound and mobs are really annoying to kill because fuse delays ect.
Melee weapon is something what I really want. Maces and Hammers will fit perfectly imo.

Full turret engi with some PTV gear is really bad. Turrets can own noobs pretty easy but against decent players its sux. But turrets are great as part of hybrid builds what are great in high tier gaming especialy because enemies are mostly prepaired on meta builds and arent able to deal with you and you will easily deal with classes what are pain with other builds like necros or mesmers.

I never bought or sold instance but imo there is nothing wrong on it if you dont use any exploits. You need to put time and effort into this (and good amount of skill) same as any other farm.
There sould be some form of protection against those kickers. For example there can be 2 entering systems. One like now without instance owners and one for sellers who simply cant be kicked by any possible way if they create instance.

HI, I’m don’t play for long. My first character was engineer,(first few hundred matches) then i changed it for mesmer.
There is few conculsions, why engineer is slightly op atm.
1. Team Abjured(new) with 2 engies + 2 eles won against experienced/skilled TCG – fact
2. GW2 should be skill game, but some build like turret engie(out of meta though), are extremally good in normal pugs match. They’re totally brainless and affect good skilled players too. Many times when i owned others, they’re named me OP class – subjective( many whine threats about it, though)
3. Many times when i owned engie(as mesmer) , when they get “some space” …. they healthed like 50+% hp on short cd. (Compare: many others get 30-40%)Me first idea to slightly nerf this issue is…
Nerf healing turret. Actually healing turret have 15sec. cd cooldown on pick up, and 20 cd on destroy it. it should be 20 cd on pick up/25 sec. cd on destroy it. This change will balance some meta builds, and maybe will push out brainless build out of game too. (due too less sustain/survivality)Other idea is… make Crits affect turrets.

P.S 2 Healing turret don’t have any cast time. There is hard to stop heal engies again.

1. That wins was incredibly close and I am sure they dont won just because 2 engis.
2. Every class has some braindead build. Ofc you can remove this build from game but you must also remove Hambows, PU mesmers, LB rangers, MM necros, ect.
3. Its not about more heal but about HP pool. Some classes get less percent per heal because they simply have more HP to heal.
All engi heals are designed with short cd to compensate very little condi removals. You cant simply nerf heal cd withou boosting other skills.
Turrets are already very fragile actualy problem can be turret regen trait. Its incredibly strong imo and its that reason why can be turrets so OP in some situations.

so i’ve been gone for a while (back from the first haloween event) and alot has changed
so i was wondering if anyone could tell me the buffs/nerfs to thief and ranger
i have a max level thief and ranger, but being gone so long i thought it would be best to make one from lv 1 to relearn the game. but i’m having trouble deciding on one…
so my questions are.
1. Did they ever fix Pet AI (from pets being kittened and getting stuck on every single tree)
2. did ranger’s dmg get buffed? (i saw the new stealth thing on longbow)
3. how much has thief been nerfed? still good for soloist?
4. living world season 1. what exactly happened during all that (punching myself for missing it!!!!)
5. what happened to town clothes
6. any new lands been released?
7. anything i should know before reaching living world season 2 (as it appears i wont be able to do season 1?)

I’ve been playing PvP for over a year. And I’m finally to the point of saying enough. Enough of mesmers killing me all the time. Enough of mesmers taking two or three players to kill. Enough of losing time and time again to teams w/ stealth player
superiority.There already is a counter category that tracks how many kills a particular account has. What needs to happen is this. The Devs NEED to create a “killed” tracker. There needs to be a counter that tracks each and every “death” in PvP. By toon type category. Then a breakdown should be done in regards to percentages and frequency.
Then after a month the results need to be analyzed and ideally, published for general consumption. I am SICK AND TIRED of people saying that “oh, look at the playoff boards. You don’t see any mesmers there…” What MY individual experience tells me is that neither my warrior, my engineer, OR my necro can routinely KILL a Mesmer.
In FACT, I almost NEVER kill a Mesmer by myself. Unlike warriors or guardians, which my eng routinely eats for breakfast. Unlike rangers, necros, engs and thieves. Mesmers are the one class that in PvP that I perceive to be bulletproof.
So this will not only settle the argument of Mesmer invincibility once and for all, BUT should ALSO should show that STEALTH classes have an UNFAIR advantage in PvP.
Nuff said.
You can try my current PvP build (in signature) since I use it I didnt met Mesmer what was able to kill me 1v1. I have archived few very angry whispers from so called Legendary Champions:-P
