Rich, in every aspect of the game. Every single one. Convenience is an amazing asset. And mobility is more than convenience in PvP.
Its still for 10s every 20s in pvp we can go 20% boon duration trait, medkit have another swiftness, you can also use toss from elixir B (it dont share cd). We can combine it with runes if it will be needed and dont mention that Mecha Legs is now in usefull line. Swiftness will be little bit harder to maintain then swaping kits but there is no challenge what engi cant handle:-)

As far I see that for dungs still zerk/assassin combo. For condi builds I will choose definetly rabid because of that condi boost from precision there. For pve condi rampager over sinister

Most players don’t even know engi has higher dps than most classes besides ele in pve.
I hope people don’t believe that, “jack of all trades master of none” thing. Engi can stack 25 might, 25 vuln, cleanse condis, stealth, dps, projectile reflect/destruction, solo dungeons like arah.
More accurate is Engi can do everything like other classes sometime better however much harder to handle-)

They said beside precursor rest remain pretty much same so I think you are safe to prepair general legendary stuff like 77 clovers and stack of every T6:-P

I think I will go rabid over celestial and pistol shield bombs, tool and eg. Pistol will get lots of buffs coated bullets baseline explosives traits affect it and new trait condi from precision will make nice synergies

Raids and dungeons are added to keep people interested in the game. Btw they were parts of all pve mmos since the beginning so yeah. It is another game mode not a replacement of openworld.
Raids in other mmos was there to squeeze money from sub fees thats why I am alergic to word “raids”

Changing kits while out of combat is a thing, you know. It’s not PvP we’re talking about here. The metabuild page even COVERS the stealth bomb combo and offers skill variations, so you can’t blame that for the non-stealthing engies.
Now, I actually agree with you that following the “meta” strictly is really limiting. It actually stifles some of the Engineer’s strengths, the main strength being versatility. A good engie will be swapping skills and sometimes even traits around to suit the party composition and current dungeon/encounter. For example, Elixir R certainly isn’t ‘meta’ but does wonders in the Mai Trin fight; most elixirs are highly situational, but are very handy in the right encounters.
But having a few different traits and kits doesn’t make it a totally different build. I myself run pistol/shield and even have the nerve to take condition damage as a stat, but I still have to admit I’m still running a 66002 power grenadier set up with full-on vuln stacking, which is still bending to the basic idea of the meta-build.
So yeah, if you want a build considered “good” for dungeons, it’s really hard to avoid anything that doesn’t at least use the meta power-grenadier as it’s basic ‘skeleton’ and then tweaked to personal taste.
The main reason grenades keep reappearing as the go-to is that they’re insanely good at stacking vulnerability, but only with a full 6 in explosives. They’re actually kinda useless otherwise, since the damage is way less without grenadier, though this will change after the skill revamp. So using them restricts your build possibilities quite a lot, honestly. If you skip out on grenades entirely, a static discharge build may be your next best DPS alternative, especially if tool kit is your thing.
A flamethrower centric build like was just mentioned isn’t considered “good” by people who care about meta stuff, but you can make it work with firearms and alchemy lines and you’ll want to take full advantage of might stacking. It’s redundant with an elementalist in the party, but makes a good substitute for a might stacking ele otherwise. You might be able to pull off a hybrid flamethrower/static discharge build of you want something ‘different’ that still has some effectiveness.
All that aside, once the specialization update drops, it should do a great deal to mix up potential engineer builds. Our skill and trait changes are pretty major.
Thats true but in dungs are many spots where bombs in combat make that real difference and not just as stealth:-) For example I use strategy (I hope I am not alone who found that) how to kite Butcher in hotw p1 around pillar using bombs to hit him thru all the time and keep agro on me while rest of party can safely damage him. If you keep him off sight all the time he never use his ground chill or spin attack:-) Engi with bombs traited for radius is only way in game how to do that.

that meta build is terrible
This is by far the best engi build for dungeons, used by guilds such as DnT and Snow Crows. Maybe l2p.
And you just mindlessly copy paste it just because some guy in youtube told you right?. That build isnt bad but also its far from most effective/most usefull it have clunky and unnecessary complicated rotation. Actualy one and only place where FT is actualy usefull is removing block stack from that boss in hotw p1. Anywhere else its waste of slot.

Last thing I wanna see is awesome engineer transformed into boring one button class with dumb passive signets in utility slots. I hope Anet dont do this mistake.

I hope they also fix other classes builds “what arent fun to play against” like illusion spammers or perma port teefs.

Turrets are the worst thing what you can take to pve in all direction – very low dps, no mobility, long cd, lack of utility. And rest of build dont help it, no synergies there, bad runes, traits and stats. If you are new here its better to start with some reccomended build and wait with creating your own untill your class understanding will be deeper:-)

Nerfed was only those dumb stacionary builds where you build your AI and go pretty much afk. And it will be nerfed even more because they will remove autorepair trait afaik. Othere builds where you use turrets for reflects like me wasnt hurt at all.

Taking Speedy Kits away from the Adept slot is ridiculously inappropriate. As said above its part of many of our builds, you guys are practically nerfing 80 percent of the engi builds which are not a turret( altough u nerfed the turret builds in recent patch anyways huh).Losing it will destroy alchemy trait aswell (Invigorating Speed) and many other things.
You complaining because you dont fully understand how new trait system works. Doesnt matter anymore if that trait is adept or master. Invigoratin speed was merged. Open that video again and play it few times until you start seeing those awesome new synergies and posibilites.

I tested turrets and they’re dead. They last seconds vs any real players and that’s it.
If you’re thinking of knockbacks I’d check to see if turrets can be blinded.

Mortar should be a fileds kit so I dont expect some ridiculous dps. I am more curious about what fields we get there. Now engi bit suffer from quite short fields but with longer ones like smoke, fire, water can mortar be really gamechanging with all those new blasts
