At supreme, is there not a permanent invincable build? In pretty sure I saw a permanent blocking nomads warrior build!
D/x is what I’m least worried about with the changes. I can not express enough that s/d has never been stronger than dd tank because the traits in the earth water and arcane lines have been far and above stronger than fresh air or light rod let alone blinding ashes which is relatively new.
I must say I like krait runes or Balthazar runes on s/f much better with the blind ashes and earth camping using stone heart if I must use condi
( d/f signets also appears useful) it I will always says prefer my aura specs for d/d !
If I’m gonna unless condi though I’m gonna run It on thief! ( if I’m gonna do something im gonna do it right! 13 stacks of confusion and then spamming g interrupts is the way to go

Meh, I don’t play s/d vs anyone good, have to go df conjure build for that! ( or just 66002 s/f)
You greatly underestimate the power of lightning rod with the 20 % more damage vs cced foes and 2 static auras( I heard that the devs are fixing aura runes, not that that is pvp related.) and this would allow for high might stacking with fire and air proocing lightning rod and permanent 53%damage reductions from protection and earth traits.

So how will all the eles adapt? The majority of eles I have fought in pvp are d/d cele and it’s is the meta. This build has a lessening support role and I want to know what builds some of the ele community not QQing has come up with in terms of builds using the live stream traits.
I feel I must contribute so here is my silly arcane build!
Arcane: Arcane energy, arcane shielding, elemental surge
Air: OwA(one with air) shocking aura Lightning rod
Fire: burning percision pyromancers training blinding ashes
Scholar runes Zerker amulet.
Force and fire sigils
S/d
Lightning flash, arcane power, arcane shield
If I give out my real build people will QQ cause it is too strong! :p
Note: I can not remove QandA mode pls fix this anet

azel, air isn’t really being nerfed because, unless you save your burst until the very end bolt to the heart is only 20/3=6.6% damage increase. ( The 5% less damage in air is much more noticeable except when firegrabbing foes)

Even tanky eles hit harder than shoutbow , but yes d/d has less support now unless you go aura sharing but is a self survivable medium damage support and tank really fair? ( with the cele Neff I believe you will see more valk eles running runes with auras or percision based runes with aura share for a more support role while maintaining the ability to survive and deal damage.

Not all builds require team support and there are ways to get more out of the new traits through stuns, defensive aura share, and I’m typing on a kindle with internet cutting me off
so sry if my responses do not make tons of sense. they may not be what was hoped for, but ele was already meta and the guardian traits aren’t that impressive either.(edit: when referring to guardian traits I mean base class not DH btw).

Well, for starters there are some very powerful ( by appearances ) aura builds. you can still maintain your high protection uptime on the meta spec equivalent, you were already extremely strong, need I list more? This is in terms of cele d/d and d/f meta. I am disappointed by lack of care for zerker s/f or s/d builds though.

The proposed changes to ele aren’t that bad the ele community is just being the most shortsighted of them all. Of course buffs to glass else in pvp should of been prioritized to be stronger like thieves which got a buff, but cele tank melee who are hard core raging cause they aren’t the strongest build in the game(with their current spec) are just sad.

There are probably better solutions to turrets which were already countered by tacky condi builds but really lightning hammer is not op and the earth shield needs a buff for pve because in most pve content it is useless. I don’t have suggestions yet . Have suggestions but the trait synergy is always advised.
Edit: and with the power of my chronomancy I replying to a statement below mine I can get over100k FB solo with my FB build! Eat that 100blades warrior!

Elementalists are not necessarily being nerfed, it will just change how evasive arcana builds are used, also ele is extremely mobile and your numbers are slightly off and misleading.

The only build that can 1vX is condi thief and if players are good you will lose anyways unless you fight 3 cleansless players who are on low mobility specs… I have done crazy things were I win 1v10+ but its mostly because of luck and LoS and I have done this on engi which had no stab or invis. Just bomb the down they will learn that no good deed goes unpunished
If you go s/f you can deal more dps with your auto as a full dire condi build lol. Actually my scepter focus condi damage auto is even to youtube necromancer skill w Mark in condi damage… condi on ele too strong!

Also if you want me to help you learn thief again I’m ok multi classing every class in the game and at least know their skills and the best traits!
If it was dagger dagger you can just stand in blinking fields abuse blinding field!… and then abuse your Sb to kite people unreasonably well.
Yeah and a net need to fix this cause it it’s thieves 50%of the times it happens but HoT is higher priority than thief complaints I would assume.
At black truth Warriors are very good at wvw being faster than even acrobatics thief and dealing high damage.
Warriors are the easiest to kill class on mesmer and the fact that they can actually beat members still speaks on it own… anyways get hammer gets and spam the with CCs on a soldiers aim with intelligence sigils and they won’t be able to kill you gg

Being so thief with 4s revealed is kinda like being a fresh air ele without your fresh air trait when In pvp… revealed times should be the same and no it does no need to be 4s in www… thief is not op in anyway for www and people who are f equal skill to the thief on builds like power necromancer don’t complain because they aren’t dying! Maybe the dagger pistol set is the real problempeople have because most good thieves in www don’t eve use SA because other specs hit so much harder and they die when performing far better than their foes so it doesn’t even a d/p nerf. Why do people think thief is op… it takes so much more work to deal less damage on a thief than a ranger.
Anything condi with sustainability is good for being cheese.. dire p/d condi krait runes is very strong if you go SA line. The hardest to kill build is guaranteed a permanent evade thief… even d/d soldier and valk mix is cheesy as heck with crit strikes line and backstabs hard. Cheesiest build in the game is nomads turrets…

Defense on the full Zerker ranger camping walls and destroying npcs or players quickly was extremely useful. I was the only person necessary for playing defense because no one could break the door with dead npcs

your average burst will go down ( because each clone will be nerfed ) and more mesmers will run MI to try and get a 4 clone shatter, which may make them slighty more damaging under that situation.
@ Fay, mathematically it is not as good as it was before, look at your protection uptime… but it does still work, you’re are right about that.

also, you do lack damage in your build you are even replacing runes, a big source of damage, with tanky runes @Schattenlied
these runes work best on a zerker guardian who wants survivability when solo roaming, still the are good runes and they can give you nice big heals on block ( soem people estimate over 3k ( i have seen evidence that the heals are 3.5-3.9k ) which doubles a lot of heal skill effectiveness )

This build is interesting, i tried a power s/p staff signet build and it worked ok but sacrificed a lot of utility for the signets. This condi / hyrbid build may work well i have yet to test… anyways I think that maim actually has a much higher teamfight potential because of the AoE torment and confusion on shatters, also you should consider undead runes, they are extremely strong

I think he is talking about the change to the trait that used to give you 2 extra intiative for every stealth finisher ( no longer works btw, only works with CnD according to my testing)
Without exception people who had a high win rate previous to the last 2 balance patches got stuck against tons of premades for their first 10-20 matchups as far as i am aware. Most of the people new to pvp had great matchups after the pvp UI change and match making change patch.

When i first queued on the new matchmaking system i had the same result. If I queued solo without exception I got a premade team as a enemy with a full pug team this happened only for the first week since every change in the matchmaking system. After about that period of time it finally decides I have lost enough games I can get pug vs pug matchups and my winrate climbs back up to 60+% on the leaderboards, my total wins in all games is just under 3 wins for every loss… mabye it pulls your matching from that because it would explain why I get put vs premades as a solo que player lol. Also i have won about 50% of premade vs pug matchs… apparently pugs think they just have to join a party and que together to win ????

TY Sticker happy for that idea with healing on interrupts !!! it is a great idea and would make interrupt mesmer legitimately viable in spvp… the tanking power of a zerker/ knights build with that would be insanely good for a team, its heals would be higher than an ele and it would have great CC. Obviously because the mesmers defensive abiltity are removed by the mantras and this build would be hilarious if dueling another version of itself. Lol perma immobilized foes and never gettign your heal skil loff

Ok so everyone thinks Revenant will be OP, they are probably right and if you look at the fury buff trait it seems to give 50% extra crit chance on top of the normal + 20 from fury, please correct me if I am wrong about this. Anyways this trait could theorectially allow a full celestial or even full valkeries / cavalier build to obtain 100% crit chance via runes of the pack due to the abundance of fury traits filling in the other 50% uptime. ( will the Shiro stance that was supposedly data mined be confirmed and is it power? the great mystery of life as a pre HoT launch revenant theory crafter)
Condition specs will be immune to condis via condition transfers and highly difficult to kill the first trait line will be essential for this type of spec. Full dire will likely be extremely strong on revenant with perplexity, torment, or balthazar runes.
Just wait for my full cavaliers revenant critting 100% of the time with a crazy AoE Jade wind Shiro elite !

omg! sckamow actually responded to me :P. arenet does seem to forget the small details of what they do in patch notes, some nerfs that never were anounced and such have come out in patches before, I hope they have a system in place to check for this.
higher damage option, more like ross’ build but i think this one makes more mathematical sense when it comes to damage, less cripple but more boon strip
nice build, near perma swiftness and long duration on all cripples including clone death allowing you to kite even better while in combat, with your staff no one should be able to ever get in melee unless your using your sword blurred frenzy. Lots of control and reasonable 1vX though 1vX isnt even possible vs players of your skill so unless your fight JQ and Sanctum of Rall expect to lose most of those outnumbered fights.
i noticed this when i got 300 damage burning on my condi specced ranger,
not like its condi memser that needs a buff though
- condi mesmer 15 stacks of torment and 10+ stacks of confusion permanently in wvw
I really hope the new specialization allows mesmers to be less phantasm reliant for damage, mabye going back to the old mesmer gw1 system without clones but with powerful lockdown abilities and a more interrupted base combat system.. not sure how they would implement this though because most skills in pvp are shrouded by the unecessary spam of particles and the lack of a casting bar on foes which requires the player to have a high lvl of game knowledge to interrupt anything useful reliably. that mantra trait mentioned would be great for mantra mesmers btw.
