anyone tried that food that gives endurance refill rate if it works with vigor too and how it works? =p

It does work now because vigor is 50%. Food gives you another 40 so you have 90% regen, which is almost as good as the old vigor.

Cap is 100%

There was not a cap 2 years ago…. or at least the food was bugged to bypass the cap.

Damage reduction stacks multiplicative, not additive btw.

No, writ of the great dwarf is additive. With 2.8k armor, tempest protection, and writ of the great dwarf (WotGF) you will take literally 20 power damage on large crits.

effective Druid WvW/GvG builds/roles?

We’ve tried to make druid work in WvW and GvG, but overall it was lackluster. The guilds who beat us generally don’t use druids in open field or GvG. In the NA scene druids aren’t used really(except here and there experimentally). EU might use them, but I haven’t seen that in their videos either(the few I’ve watched).

I still think the class has potential, but haven’t seen anyone able to utilize it successfully yet.

False statement which is valid exclusively to your server and / or tier. Druids are a huge part of our meta.

Again guys, there are some decent streams left, watch them, adjust your builds to what you see. Also most of all your commander will need to adjust, this is of utmost importance as coordination and timing of abilities between druids is what makes or breaks it. You can watch some nice streams on weekends, perhaps not many right now cause holidays, but they are there.

And again I apologize for keeping things to myself, but until our meta is out from people figuring it out, we are keeping it to ourselves.

And what renowned guild are you from that has managed to make druid so much better than other guilds? GS? Some t1 blob guild? I see nothing in your description and see no comments detailing your guild name. As far as I am aware I’m the only person to succesfully integrate a dps druid into a guild group comp. Tips to people, druids are the most op gank when paired with scrappers….

Hackers Capping Towers

Over the past hour or so there have been reports of persons from NSP (one of which is a ranger) solo capping towers in EBG and the DHBL in our match-up (DH vs NSP vs HoD). The last recent take was a fully upgraded Jerrifer’s Slough (at ~21:00 EST) in EBG without any siege at all.

Before that about 10mins before a Ranger was spotted in Aldon’s Ledge, again no walls down, no gates down, no siege on the ground either but at Lords attempting to take the tower by itself.

I’m not going to ask for the best way to report this since not everyone who plays WvW has recording software ready under the assumption that they are going to run into someone who abnormally gained access to a tower or Keep.

This kind of activity has been going on for years at this stage. What I want to know is whether this is business as usual or will this too be fixed in the up-coming major WvW patch?

Well how do you suggest for it to be solved? I mean come on do you really think that Arena Net have the means to monitor every person inside of wvw to be able to stop them? We need to help them, and they ofc need solid proof for it or it could be abused to a point were players would be banned for something they never done, just getting trolled.

Now i get it that you are not able to make the proof, but ask in mapchat for someone that can and then send it to exploits@arena.net
The better proof the easier it is for A-Net to find them.

They actually do. Anet has the ability to spectators stalk anyone they want anywhere in the entire game.

This is a feature of anets spaghetti code mapping system which is also the cause of broken teleport skills and all the dungeon skips in old times. They basically just patch over a broken engine. You can do this and be teleported onto an untapped but solid segment of sky in lionsarch lol.

Precision Strike Nerf: Inc CD to 5s

I think it needs a shave. But don’t completely revert the changes. This skill was useless before other than using in a combo field for burning or something.

Maybe for you.. it was great at slowing down people that tried to kite you.
Thing is they nerfed UA and autoattack and moved damage from these abilities to #2 which created this issue. Op skill 1v1 but trash 1vX. I hope they change sword this patch bc its pathetic in current state.

Oh btw, lets also not forget that damage on sword skills is bugged and deals less than intended

yeah 10k damage on a skill that causes people to double dodge and is an evade itself needs a buff.
as does the highest dps auto attacks in the game when used with quickness.
definitely need to buff harder

It is not even close to the highest damage auto attack in the game. It is hardly decent. rev sword auto < Thief sword auto < warrior axe auto < thief dagger……. maybe if they fix it it will be good again.

I think that anet should detect afks and dcs but they do not…. it personally lost me at least 5 games in diamond. But they also should prevent people from being mid diamond despite running greatsword shortbow carrion amulet base ranger and getting 0 points but I get those on my team occasionally in late diamond / legend.

League =/= skill

Of course there’s a correlation of skill. It’s not perfect, but there’s a reason that pro league players are all legendary.

It’s also the same reason why you can watch low tier games and see huge mistakes. I mean, I steamrolled through amber, sapphire, and even most of ruby doing things like winning 1 v 1s on a thief and capping an undefended mid point. There’s still plenty of dumb stuff that happens, even in legendary games, but not nearly to the same extent that you see at lower tier games.

Not all pro players are legendary. But yes, most pro players spend more time in the game and therefore have had enough time / such above average skill or team composition that they where able to beat the carry system. Most legend players get there through trio or duo question because they are the best I’m terms of match making and allowing you to have consistent and synergistic team mates that can rotate appropriately. Some also simply farm all the way through with full premade of prologue players at off hours so they never fight any good like the people in. Division 12 legendary etc…

Yes, league =/= skill, but not because of mmr streaks. It is because matchmaking errors in antes 50/50 loss system. The games says, oh this person has too high a win rate, I will only match him with the best players in this tier I can find to lower his win rate and mmr because he will start losing games. If you lose lots of games it will say, oh let’s make , this person get on this poor good high mmr players team to average out our win rates. And random streaks of being carried get players that can be replaced by more useful bots to diamond.

For anyone worried about the gem cost of transferring, I heard about this place in pve-land. It’s called Silverworld or something like that. Apparently, when you kill a champ mob, instead of blood, a fountain of T6 mats spurts in all directions. Farm there until you make enough gold to buy the gems. I doubt it will take more than a couple hours. I went there to check it out once because there was some rumor of a “chest train.” Well, I was expecting a konga line of topless ladies, but its really just a mind-numbingly boring game of follow the leader.

This is about the state of the gw2 economy.

Wake up and face the music. Server loyalty doesn’t exist anymore, what you’re feeling is loyalty to your friends. When that group shrinks below 30 people its basically guild loyalty, not server.
I’ve been to every tier.
WvW is completely dysfunctional below tier 2 for OCX and Tier 3 for anything else.

Also don’t go Mag, I hear it’s the most toxic cesspit server there is.

Real Mag is better than all other servers, the problem is all the awful people from other servers heard about mags trolley personality and decided to leave behind SBI and GoM to come invade our great community with their toxic guilds like ark, dolo, and those guilds I can’t name that hack cause my posts will get deleted but anet won’t ban them, lol. But lots of servers have this problem, it is not exclusive to mag.

sorry, if it can be done, it is already done. obviously, the programming to do so did not exist and making it will further delay the wvw overhaul.

many people are simply betting on that wvw overhaul, if it isnt satisfactory, goodbye wvw. it can be considered the last straw for many.

furthermore, a lot of things were already suggested or warned by players at least 2 years ago but either promptly ignored or players at that time do not agree with it as they don’t see the consequences of it until 2 years later.

Transfers used to be free…..

I’m fairly certain if they hopped in to the middle of the storm of “why are you killing WvW” posts it would degenerate into Dev vs Forum in a hurry.

They are reading the suggestions and ignoring histrionic outbursts.

Of course it would, but what I’m saying is that after a week or so those kinds of posts will die down. They have pretty decent moderators at work here to counter the influx of petty posts.

Right now the main concern of WvW players is that this overhaul might ruin WvW somehow, the devs addressing those concerns and interacting openly could alleviate that considerably.

A week of potentially crap posts and hurt feelings is worth it if we can get some decent direct involvement in the progression of this overhaul.

A decently involved CDI thread for each of the pieces of the overhaul that they’re closest to being able to release will contain in in specific places and avoid duplicate posts.

Decent team of moderators ? Also aren’t you discussing their actions which I have been infracted for multiple times? They could do that you know. It says so in that document they link all the time.

disadvantage not having Hot in wvw?

Elite specializations are just another build option. They’re not necessarily better than the existing builds, they just present different play style and build opportunities.
If you’re running a good build you should still be able to counter most things that people can throw at you. Understanding the elite specs would be a smart place to understand, but the only disadvantage you’re at is that you can’t use an elite spec (which is only a disadvantage if you wanted to use one).

Totally false. Elite specializations were advertised as “just another build option” but the reality is that having them makes you significantly stronger.

In sPvP? Yes, undoubtedly. Anet was shameless in their intentional power creep to get the pvp crowd to purchase the xpac.

In WvW things aren’t so black and white. Some builds are better but some still rely heavily on base skills and traits to the point that not having the elites won’t make a huge impact.

You’re still going to be using a staff on Ele for example.

Agreed for the most part but….

80% of builds or more use an elite spec for WvW even in zergs. Most guild group comps do not even include non HoT builds at the high end. The elite specs are designed to provide both high damage boosts and an overwhelming amount of utility in order to force players to buy HoT no questions asked….

Your staff eles should run tempest if possible, if not they should go arcana or fire… and that is the best case scenario for any class really.
Even mesmer s should not be run as a base class, the utility of grav well or double time warp for a group is stupidly strong comparable to any of the pre hot traitline benefits. And then you have traits ….

Change WvW loot systems to not give incentives to blobs and instead reward people based on how outnumbered they are while getting kills or how few people are in the area from their server. Right now roaming and small group combat gets you less loot for more work and blobs get more loot even though it is still like 1/6th what you make in pve.
Give all WvW SKILL group players a precursor (expensive one like spark or dusk or let them choose, not for PPT guilds cause they are pve players not WvW players, give them a smaller gift if you want) as a gift for having played a dead game mode without rewards for a long period of time on faith that you will save it.
Then remove large amounts of siege or cap it heavily. If not removing siege make it deal minimal damage for minima l effort vs groups of player’s because right now cannons are roaming meta and it is stupid.
Make all gear standardised build editor selection with any option of food and gear using your equipped armor skins but full ascended stats so this game mode is not a PvE extension. People will still want money to get skins.
Make the rewards into WvW specific titles, miniatures, and skins.
Make supported roaming guild tourneys, video contests etc… with gem rewards to encourage real skilled group gameplay for reasons other then fun.
Remove pve b.s. from WvW through the guild system and make any remaining WvW guild hall features take WvW rewards not silence farming nonsense.
Issue a public apology for having incompetent WvW testers and asking PvE guilds for advice.
Change WvW scoring system to be equal parts kills and ppt because objective based fights should still exist as they offer Interesting strategies when you remove siege hugging and make kills matter so people don’t just ppt train and siege up towers.

And make transfers free once every 2 months for minimal spying, lots will happen because of F2P and other stuff already, and still allowing guilds to move to a server that fits their goals.

Until all of these occurs WvW as a system can never reach its full potential.

Then fix balance among classes and elite specs which is a more general change and is not specific to the WvW system.

Just to be clear anet is stupid to not realise that population imbalance is far beyond their ability to fix and they will never achieve that balance until there is a WvW community beyond EBG which means fixing these system wide issues and the problems with specific maps (or just adding better graphics to the map that already worked and never adding PvE b.s. to it).

Yes it gets checked and they get banned, but you need to do your part and properly report the offenders via in-game report, and if some reason you are unable to select them to access the report feature, video record what the offender(s) are doing and send it in to exploits@arena.net with details such as what server you are on, what time and date you recorded the footage and what borderland it was on.

I reported someone who can fly around WvW and portal other players into towers, thieves who kill you without downed state and no combat log recorded damage, and much more. To my knowledge only 1 has ever been banned out of like 30.

This likely one reason so much of the stuff is account and soulbound. The group brags that they have “trusted friends” storing stuff for them for the next iteration. It part of the reason we have a TP rather then direct player trades. It part of the reason they have to track all gold transactions.

ANET might be advised to do some more forensics on the banned accounts to see what sort of interactions they had with other players in game. There likely a myraid of ways these low lifes try and work around the restrictions in place but it would seem to me one means may be how gear/mats/gold moved player to player. It just a shame that this might affect how the honest people play the game.

I’m sure they hacked through dungeons for tokens to get enough exotic gear in order run their builds. They are second rate, those hacks are literally things you can go find on random internet websites that are considered semi safe to get 3rd party programs from. Not impressed. Probably just a no-life using someone else’s hacks and playing the game while pretending to do their job at a fast food restraunt.

To be fair, Gaile did respond to this thread in about 20 minutes. Also, the hacker that the OP was talking about was banned within a day.

On the other hand, said hacker had been at it for a long time before that. Also, there’s this other guy who is widely known and has escaped justice for so long. It is puzzling, but it seems that things do get done on occasion.

The HOD hacker has another account that he is levelling up on FA he is boasting about it on the salt forums.

Well since he uses teleport and speed hacks he can probably lvl in like 10 minutes by hitting his teleport hotkey to reach waypoints so LOL.

GW2 has needed in game GMs since release. Community sourced online GMs with power to report directly to ANet would also be a massive improvement.

I have seen a tremendous amount of hacking go completely unpunished in this game despite multiple reports. The old build trebs in unreachable places went on for months in T2. Killing lords under the ground, that went on for years.

You can still do this via an in game exploit with the engineer pull or just be like many of those that do that kind of thing (I saw tons of this when fighting darkhaven) and use position hacks to teleport and drop under the floor.

For Death Shroud, I think the following could work, at least in part:

Life Blast
-A)Reduce the cast time to 0.5s/0.75s and adjust the damage/coefficients appropriately.
Or
-Increase the cast time to 1.75s and burst-fire three projectiles at the end of the cast; adjusting the damage/coefficients appropriately.
-B) Life Blast inflicts 1 torment (4.5s).

Dark Path
-A) Increase the projectile velocity.
Or
-Make Dark Path a ground targeted teleport.
-B) Generate 2.5% lifeforce for each target hit.

Doom
-A) Increase the duration of fear by 0.5s.
Or
-Reduce the cooldown from 20s to 18s.

Life Transfer
-A) Reduce the channel time from 3s to 2.5s.
-B) Reduce the cooldown from 40s to 35s.
-C) Each pulse inflicts weakness (1.5s).
-D) If all pulses hit at least one target gain access to Essence Leech for 10s:
Essence Leech: Siphon health from nearby foes and bleed them.
-Damage (5x): x
-Siphon Damage (5x): 112
-Siphon Heal (5x): 100
-10 bleed (6s)
-Number of Targets: 5
-Duration: 1.75s
-Radius: 600

Tainted Shackles
-A) Reduce the cooldown from 40s to 32s.
-B) Gain 1 stack of stability (8s) for each target hit with the initial cast.
-C) Increase the number of torment stacks added per pulse by 1.
-D) If targets break the bind early, they are immobilized (1.25s).
-E) If targets do not break the bind, transfer 1 condition to each target and chill (6.5s) them.

Why add essencenleech on the end? You could just make it actually apply bleeds and be done with it.

They should make this skill be a real risk to the necromancer
For example it should apply like 20 stacks of bleed for 1 minute

Step 2:
Using staff, press 4 underneath target, taking an unblockable 20 stacks of long-lasting bleeding.

Step 3:
Watch them die to what was intended to be your own 20 stacks of bleeding, or if cleansed, apply your real conditions.

Nope. Just nope.

Please make it 50 self stacks, ill get revenant runes, use my heal, then use BiP and undead signet… One shot by condis lol.

Good ideas but I like:
Well of souls-
Transfer the life force of your enemies into your self to heal spreadsheet your allies, while slaying downed foes.
Deals life stealing damage x 4.96 ( scales on power (life steal so no crit (heals for 50% of life steal )
Pulses 6 times
Finish defeated foes struck by the well’s final pulse and resurrect up to 3 allies
120s CD.
900 range
I’m not sure about the balance, I just thought of it randomly but of course numbers can be tweaked. Anyways hope you like my idea XD.

Either this or a lupicus bubble of death. Like really, who doesn’t want that op skill.

Or, condi damage version actually.

Well of the Unholy-

6 pulses
Deals low damage x1.46
Applies poison, cripple, and torment
Torment – 2 stacks for 6s
Poison – 1 stack for 6s
Cripple – for 2s

I am kind of split between having an elite well with DoT and an elite support well that gives a party buff.

The first thought I had was for a well that creates a column of rising air but that could break the game.

The second thought was a well that gives vigor.

Vigor is worthless after nerf so think about something else lol.

Well of Darkness is weak. But it is still a good skill by necro standards. There are a lot of situations where it is highly useful.

To make it better it needs a lower cooldown and possibly projectile destructrion. Also wouldnt hurt to add damage on pulse to it (Nightmare court Knights in TA have a good version of well of darkness). And Ascalonian necros in AC have strong wells as well.

Well of Power should pulse stability for allies standing in it.

Well of Suffering should get a small boost to damage and a lower cooldown.

Well of Corruption should probably apply some condition in addition to its current effects. Maybe cripple. Or torment if soft cc is too much.

Make Wells Viable

I mentioned this to Bhawb the other day, but I do have an idea for Well of Darkness.

Keep its current effect and cooldown, but make it form an opaque black dome for enemies (allies see it as a transparent dome like the toxic krait bubbles). Inside the dome, it’s like one of the dark rooms in PvE/Obsidian Sanctum (for enemies only). You can’t see things properly in there.

Now, you can still maintain a target, perhaps, but do you know what is being hidden during those 5 seconds? It could be absolutely nothing, or it could be reeeeeeal nasty.

Wouldn’t affect PvE use at all, but I could see some crazy plays coming from it in PvP/WvW.

I like this idea but would also like it to grant retal and destroy projectiles passing through.

WoD is too situational as it is.

I like this idea… but keep the blindspam pls.

About Gravity Well, everyone seems to forget the damage of the skill comes from Power Block and keeping the target locked in place for a burst which CS can double up on.

Necromancers are very durable, and reapers are even more durable. I haven’t played an elementalist, but I know how squishy they can be. I suppose if you want to feel rewarded for playing skillfully, then roll an elementalist. If you want to play the game while watching netflix/taking a nap, roll a necromancer.

So, I want to play reaper spec and use normal necro deathshroud. People will say reaper is better in every way, it is not. There are multiple specs I have tried that work significantly better with base shroud than reaper shroud but need the line desperately. Please make it possible to select a shroud out of combat so that you can use normal shroud even with an elite spec (do not make reaper selectable without reaper line though). This will also definitely help for some other elite spec, which will have a totally worthless shroud in the future most likely.

Good ideas but I like:
Well of souls-
Transfer the life force of your enemies into your self to heal spreadsheet your allies, while slaying downed foes.
Deals life stealing damage x 4.96 ( scales on power (life steal so no crit (heals for 50% of life steal )
Pulses 6 times
Finish defeated foes struck by the well’s final pulse and resurrect up to 3 allies
120s CD.
900 range
I’m not sure about the balance, I just thought of it randomly but of course numbers can be tweaked. Anyways hope you like my idea XD.

Hey, I’m looking for a raiding guild, mostly have time during weekends atm but schedule should clear up during the next few months for a while. Hightier pvp player also capable of solo/duoing dungeons and have some minor experience in raids but it is so hard to find pug raids and lack a non pvp guild atm. Please send me a mail ingame if your willing to recruit me or want more info. Have microphone and ts.

Also is ascended armor required in raids and if so is it theoretically possible for you to make and exception? Of course I would not ask you to make one that is unwarranted, and I should be able to finish my sets soon.

I can see very clear that my team is always the weakest, so I am not the cause of the defeats (not completely and not in this ratio).

I remember my last few matches before the patch. I was queuing with this group of relatively new players just to welcome them into a guild and I was playing really well for some reason. I managed to carry them to four straight wins. In one match I managed to win two pips off a team of 5 diamonds while I and my team were Ruby or lower. I solo queued to Tier 2 Diamond in almost straight wins after and then the patch hit…

This pretty much maximized my MMR and since then it has not gone down. I lost ~40 matches in a row after the patch. Then I started scouting for people who were in the exact opposite situation as me and teamed up with a lucky player to breeze through 8 straight wins as a pair yesterday.

A few hours ago I tried one solo ranked match queue just to test my hypothesis and lost 500 to 17 (seventeen) in a match without groups; 5 solo vs 5 solo; all diamonds.

Ok so you won basicly every game up to diamond according to you and then find it strange that your mmr is punishing you for that. I doubt that you have won pretty much every game up to diamond as even esl players cant carry some very kittenty pugs so you ahve either been carried by your team have been very lucky or have exploited the system your choice

My necromancer which is what I played almost all ruby has an 80% win rate if including only the league matches. I made it through the first half of ruby in 3 hours and the 2nd half in about 5

I have to agree that matchmaking broke. I now have a >50% win ratio if i afk and lose every match after one I actually tried to play despite winning 2v1s in those matches due to pugs beginning to suck with apparently extremely wild matchmaking swings. If i akitten the last match my pugs were at my skill lvl and we obliterated the poor people on the other team. It is quite obviously flawed atm.

Add a blind when it hits. That’s all it needs.

You honestly think adding a blind would add build diversity?

You asked what would make cnd viable. I answered you.

Firs you need to runner it’s damage. Then make it apply blind. Then probably change death blossom around some for more mobility and evade duration. Maybe add a damage 10% mod for 5s if you land a CnD. Make dancing dagger immobilize.

Max damage modifier: 1.5307 [DA[above 50% health)], 1.8368 [DA(below 50% health)], 1.5307 [CS(above 50% health)], 1.3915 [CS(below 50% health)]

You might want to recalculate since DA gets a +10% damage modifier regardless of targets health as long as the target has a condition. Thus the Mug damage above 50% health will have a 10% boost since the poison is applied prior to the Mug damage.

I already factored that in.
Exposed Weakness (1.1) * Staff Mastery (1.1) * Bound (1.1) * Lead Attacks (1.15) = 1.5307. The above 50% is with Executioner (1.2) * 1.5307 = 1.8368.

bruh. replace ‘’points for D/P’’ with ‘’points for staff’’

Astounding logic there. To pick one, let’s give points to staff for headshot. Headshot is of course a strength of staff. Very good.

Also i have tested the difference in dmg output enough. I see with my own eyes that CS sometimes gives me 10k vault with this build. and with DA max i have seen was 7k

I’ve landed 9-10k back stabs on cele reapers, 10k back stabs on warriors, 11.7k back stabs on marauder scrappers and been hit with 15k vaults. All with and by Deadly Arts. Although simply stating this out of context doesn’t mean much, just like it doesn’t when you do.

I get 17k backstabs in part assassins armor without executioner in WvW while running crit strikes. Obviously you are a r e not building correctly. And no, my gear is not ascended and I run life steal food not seaweed and use hardened stones.

Problem with this is the damage on mug is greater than all the damage from the entire crit strikes line on a vault. And then you need to add delegates damage mods.

Go play wvw – besides if I were into cheesy mode D/P thief it wouldn’t be any problem, I guess – but I don’t like that weaponset.

hahah cheesy mode dp, never actually played vs good teams and calls dp cheesy… new low reached~

haha, never really played wvw but calls wvw builds which have a ten times more diversity than pvp cheese haha.

I used to spent my entire play time in wvw, at some point i simply realized that pvp is more fun and more skill based, that is it. Cheese has nothing to do with diversity. You just have builds there that rely on gimmicks, gear disparity, broken runes/sigils, food, buffs that you won’t find anywhere in pvp, hiding behind zerg, cnd off NPCs and critters, spamming killshot from tower etc.

You actually know very well how old i am.

Oh and sure let’s judge entire pvp community by one duel i had (which i did say i didn’t want to participate in because of infamous german lag). Still doesn’t change the fact you didn’t play vs good teams, you didn’t play in tourneys, you don’t know how it is to play “cheesy” dp vs good opponents and not some uplv spamming 1. You have no right to judge the set, period.

Pvp is not more skill based.

Skill is a composite of many things. One of course is physical with reaction times to given data received along with hand to eye coordination.

It obvious to everyone however that this hardly the main element or the persons with fastest reflexes would always win no matter the profession they played or the gear they used.

Skill also requires a good amount of knowledge about skills and traits , the nature of each and how they interact with other skills. This includes not only ones own skills and traits but those of the enemies one will encounter.

Another element of skill is experience. The more one plays the better one gets. The more one becomes familiar with the tendencies of other players either as an individual or as a class the better one gets.

None of these elements are exclusive to Pvp.

Now in Pvp there are restrictions on the types of gear one can use , be it sigils trinkets foods or runes. As such a given player in Pvp has less variants of builds to deal with so they can hone very specific skills to deal with such.

In Wvw there far greater a variety of builds so a skilled player( see experience,) has to learn to deal with a greater variety of skills. There more data to process at any given time and more varied reactions that must be used.

It akin to the game of golf wherein a player has a bagful of clubs. On any given golf course one can have bunkers or dog legs, one can have elevated greens or greens of various levels. One can have water hazards or holes that are 550 yards long while others are 200 where the shorter hole generally bogied due to surrounding terrain while eagles are common on the former.

Those in charge suddenly decide they want to take out as many variables as possible because they favor the long strike and the 360 yard shot of the tee.

They then mandate all holes be made longer and straighter and that hazards be removed and greens remain large and flat.

This would favor the long ball hitter over the person good at the short game and ball placement. The players that are better at the long ball would certainly rise to the top but this hardly means they more skilled at the game of golf.

Pvp limits variables to favor specific styles of gameplay and as such very specific skills. The endgame of Pvp is only a handful of builds and styles make the meta and only a small amount of available gear ever used. You then get entire professions not playing because a given meta does not allow that profession to do well no matter the skill.

The so called skill is very specific and suits very specific skills which some find desirable. So to be accurate you can say " The types of skills I prefer are more heavily weighted than those in Wvw" but given the meaning of the word skill which can comprise many things it not accurate to say “Pvp players are more skilled”

The main skill in this game is not reaction, it’s not trait knowledge, it’s not even minmaxing math. It’s adaptation. The ability to quickly see all the possible directions your fight can take and as soon as it starts taking that path to react to what the situation is about to be, not to what it is at the moment and to use every advantage in terrain etc in order to make the fight take the course you want. This is, to a lesser extent, possible in pve but it is so static that there is no adaptation required in your fight manipulation.

And if you want to prove pvp players aren’t more skilled why did my pug yoloque team beat a full DnT guild team who were in voice coms? Obviously they were not able to adapt to the situation they were in properly, unlike pvp players. In short, they lack the most essential skill of plasticity in their actions making their gameplay predictable and therefore easy to counter. This is not something often used in pve, so who can blame them.

DP thieves are easily countered by 2 very basic game mechanics.

1. Dodge
2. Interrupt HS

Now that that’s out of the way I agree with promoting balance for the good of the game even if you call for your own class to be nerfed. Read my nerf Mesmer posts.

But DP is NOT in any way or shape OP. This thread is nothing but self serving self proclaimed elitists trying to enforce thier style of play on everyone else. You know this same exact type of thread popped up years ago and ultimately lead to BP nerf? One could even argue that these DD thieves inadvertently paved the path to the state in which thief now resides.

So if something is broken def call for balance…not this embarrassment of a thread though.

Well, then try thief for a bit – in PvE is enough and try the different weaponsets. Read the tooltips and learn the different playstyles and find that D/P is OP in comparison of every other thief build (without DrD/staff) right now.
And please read what I wrote again to get my point and don’t accuse me of being an elitist.

I don’t need to try thief b/c I’m a neutral 3rd party.

Tell you one thing tho. Ive never seen dp in meta pve or raids now.

Now here’s a history lesson for you. Since you WvW a lot which weaponset originally supplanted DD?

D/D was supplanted by S/D for a brief period of time long after launch once people learned to dodge CnD. Then D/P reigned as meta forever more. History complete.

Venomshare PvP viable?

oh boys. Venom share builds were not viable to the present day, becouse they were burst builds which doesnt work in bunker meta. However, developers get rid of most bunker amuls! there is some room, especiallt basilisk is unblockable. Extremely good tool to destory revenant shield.

For now remember: thief is extremely weak in pvp. If u play thief in ranked u are griefing, losing game fomr the start.

Lol… that’s why sind reached legendary with only thief, same with Kerrigan, etc… thief is only bad if your bad at thief.
