I agree with others that PPK should be for spikes only.

From what I can tell the mechanics for ressing double downed folks will be wonky and a field day for trolls with being in combat or not. My suggestion would be to still allow ressing in combat but lower the cap of people that can ress a player to 2 at all times whether in combat or not. If 2 folks want to try and ress somebody while in combat with the reduced ress speed have at it but it will take a while and 2 folks ressing somebody out of combat gets them up quick enough. I would imagine that making the change in this way would be much easier to implement as well.

Better idea, but not enough to stop fullressing dead players in blobs. Will, however, make it harder to res downed players as a roaming /skill group. I think maybe only 1 dresser for dead players and 5 for downed.

Didn’t read all the replies, but to the OP. This is exact reason why WvW needs to be Megaserver. Any server below tier 3 has little to none WvW activity, and it’s a real kitten shame because WvW is so much freakin’ fun.

Grind? Ha. I made a brand new revenant and got its elite spec in 2 hours at the dead time of EU. Would have been quicker if I’d have had friends around to get champion hero points instead of waiting around.

A group of say 5-10 should easily be able to unlock an elite spec in an hour to 2 hours, bring chronomancers for portals and alacrity for those without anything other than gliding.

I’m sorry but this isn’t a big ask if you want to unlock it quick.

But this isn’t about that, this is really about how much better elite specs feel than core specs, otherwise the OP would have made this post way back when skill points were made into shards. If they were more equal you wouldn’t care, if WvW wasn’t dying at an alarming rate you wouldn’t care.

I can so almost every heropoints in the new maps by now, but I like to remake character terms and have all classes at least once, that is literally 20+ hours of repeated, useless content… It’s gotten to the point were I know how to solo arrowhead and other difficult bosses like Balthazar to get points faster since I don’t have to wait for people…
My solo runs take 1hour and 30 minutes to get 225 hps then I just go to wvw to get my elite skill. It is kinda fine now that I can basically farm it but having done it so many times is kinda Boring and this is a game made to have FUN.

Anet should replace their current WvW team. They clearly have no clue about this game mode. Can hardly lift a finger to fix the lag issue + bugs, and adds on a ton of silly gimmicks instead. Nice going Anet. This game mode is so horrible now.

I vote we fire them entirely and they make me head of WvW design… I would start by reverting it back to 2013…

It’s not surprising that someone with minimal toughness could get him for that much if the Rev was running full DPS, like most do these days. Especially if he has full buffs.

For reference, Hammer Bolt has a 0.95 modifier. Fireball, Ele’s Fire Auto on Staff has a 0.85. That’s only a little over 11% more damage, which isn’t a great deal at that scale, especially when Ele has access to far more damage modifiers.

Ele has less, otherwise there would be a 11k ele fireball build..

Quite frankly I think it Tier 1 servers that are a waste of time as it just blob fights with AOE circles extending to the moon. Spam COR or AOE type skills and there little left in the way of tactics.

At the same time the issue with the new maps IS population. I have been spending more time in them and when you have a decent population on either side they can be a lot of fun.

Striking the perfect balance between maps that are too crowded and just end up as massive blobs running place to place and those that are too empty wherein you can not find a soul to fight is not easily done.

They are a little much to navigate but they really aren’t too bad, just remove some obstacles and increase map cap then they should be fine.

My feedback is make these extra que waiting maps like Eotm for those who do enjoy them ( if you really want to keep them) or just remove them and make slight upgrades to the alpine borderlands.

So many different guilds running around in there, it’s nice to see good fights going on.

No, playing kitten by lack of the spec you want to play is most certainly grind, especially to an avid WvW player. You obviously do not play WvW as a competitive pvp system.

Needs to be changed… it is annoying having to pve for my WvW stuff already… now I have to do new content for heropoints also.

WvW friday resets on old bls used to have all map qued for at least first 4 tiers, now small que on ebg for short time, rest bls empty with small groups running, rest of time everyone spend time in ebg with no ques during na. So wvw population is likely 20% of what it was before they released hot or actually much less.

WvW population is about 1/4 of what it was before HoT on Maguuma. For a while we had people but the depressing state of the game suffocated the population.

WvW is not a giant GvG.. it is open field pvp with varying terrain and the ability to use situational advantages. Guild arenas are for GvGs.

I experienced this on my glass ele during the time when it went through walls… not fun.

Mag was fighting DB last week. They like to “roam” with 20+ man groups each with at least one (if not 4-5 using an exploit) banners…. Remove from game or officially renounce support for WvW pls Anet…

I am a diamond rank Spvp soloquer looking to potentially join a raid guild. I realised how hard it is to find a decent guild as part of the pvp community and wanted to make a forum topic were people can help one another appropriate raid guilds.

Madrabbit has an intelligence score of 12 a wisdom score of 6 and must have a dexterity of 20 to be nimble enough to type that much while still having a life(10 = avg). He is also an excellent troll because none of you seem to have noticed that he obviously doesn’t care very much he just wants to see your angry reactions.

Since I joined Ruby division I’ve witnessed the worst plays SPVP has ever offered to me.
I get matched with people triple-stomping instead of cleaving, condi necros running GS (thank god he wasn’t on my team), people winning all teamfights and yet losing the game ‘cause they can’t even grasp the very basics of the concept of “rotations”.

I want quality SPVP matches, that’s the only reason I want to get into diamond but now it’s just.. meh.

It’s better in diamond, ruby is the worst it gets.

Edit: now worse in diamond. RIP pvp. I only match vs legendary tier 4mans using Amber buddy exploit with my full pugs scrub teams.

Lol, I main a full Zerker interrupt build with a gs and 3v1 people in Spvp ranked matches… I know how to hit skills. I just enjoy varieties of playstyles and am pointing out that clone death traits themselves are not toxic.

There were builds that utilized these traits that never even went into stealth. Also, prove that it is actually effective to do that. Any with any sense would eliminate your clones with a ranged auto rendering the traits completely useless.

I’m having a really hard time with the Duelling line since the rework. I still pick it but mostly for the Major Master / Grandmaster traits. The Adept traits are a mess for anyone not running Pistol (and to some degree Focus). I also still believe that there is a huge amount of redundancy which needs to be cleaned up (Sharper Images + Duelists Discipline + Phantasmal Fury).

I don’t think it should be a Protection trait, though. But Distortion would work.

Something I’d enjoy:

• Make Phantasmal Fury the new Master Minor
• Make Sharper Images an Adept Major
• Remove Bleeding from Duelists Discipline. Make the Duelists attacks pierce instead.
• Remove Desperate Decoy and replace it with a ‘Remove Boon on crititcal hit’ trait.

For me personally this would be a much cleaner set up. Shatter and Interrupt builds would pick Duelists Discipline or the generic Boon removal trait. Phantasm builds can pick Sharper Images (condi/hybrid) or Duelists Discipline (others). Duelling Adept currently really lacks a generic trait which is versatile enough to not be useless in non-Pistol-non-Phantasm builds.

I like these changes a lot and agree it needs sorting out.

Ok, so this a bit of a weird topic, but, I just had to bring this up after playing a mesmer x years and months.

I love my mesmer because it is by far the most original class I have played in any MMO, but also, because it is one of the few classes that you can play where you play against and try to confuse your opponent, not the character, but the actual person behind the screen controlling that character.

And I personally have taken the whole “playing against another player instead of their toon” theme a notch or two further.

What I have been doing lately both in SPVP as well as WvWvW, is that when I down someone, I don’t kill them, don’t stomp. Instead, I put a single clone on them, not a phantasm (because I dont want them to die too soon), just a regular dinky clone. My preferred is the staff 2 clone, but sometimes I use others as well.

Then, I stand quite a bit aways, stealth up when I need to so they can’t hit me with their downed skills, and I watch. I watch as they very slowly, painfully and in vein try to struggle.

then sometimes on top of that, I get out of range or shatter the clone on a different target so they can use their bandage skill, and when they are around 80% health to get up, I put the clone back on them, and I watch, again.

All of this of course is very limited as other people come by and either finish off my target, or put pressure on me so I have to do it, but I still get plenty of occasions to do this.

And as for the reason why ? Well, I do it purely for the funnies. Thats right. I like to do it just for kittens and giggles. Perhaps I should not find this humorous, but I do.

So just out of curiosity, how many of you mesmers here are like me, or have some similar things to share ?

I kill all my enemies and then let them bleed to death…. unless an ally comes by or I am trying to rotate quickly between points… I also prefer to troll 3 people at far for 4minutes than to actually fight at mid because it makes me laugh harder when I get hate messages… what do you think…

Why is it intentional

Because anet neglect the mesmer class and came up with the simple solution to running back and forth through it by making it not stack with other swiftness. They have the technology to make it better but refuse to do it.

I understand that anet is terrified of player outrage because of more “passive gameplay” on a " no skill required" class ( rofl this is that I get when I evades every single skill my opponent uses…) ,but clone death is not actually passive. I will explain my reasoning. First, clone death has counter play in several ways, do not kill clones, Kill clones from range, or cause mesmer to shatter clones. In Addition, it is not passive on the side of the mesmer and their are several important things that made a good clone death mesmer and were required to make clone death traits effective. First, you must position clones correctly. Clone death traits are cbaoes (clone position based AoEs) triggered on death, this means that enemies killing clones from range are, as previously stated, means you are unaffected. There are many potential and skillful ways to deal with this; for example, you can use a sword to summon the clone inside of enemy auto cleave to ensure they are affected (etc…). It can also be used skillfully to dodge thief shadow shot and create a clone which, when killed, used to have a chance to apply weakness to the thief removing backstab damage (dependent on weakness ring) through a skillful use of dodges and positioning. The mesmer also was required to judge when on shatter affects were worth losing the on death affect, or masterfully use shatters to proc the on death affect… (continue later)
