my human ranger (medium armor) in tier 3 cultural s the pic in the attachment. Whispers gear (by joining order of whispers) and duelist set are also good skimpy alternatives. The vigil leggings are like bikini bottoms, too skimpy for my tastes but fit your criteria.
I enjoyed event farming on my ranger, shortbow with traited piercing arrows has a fast rate of fire and arrows hit multiple targets, I also used traps for utilities with trap master traited to make the traps larger and ground targeted.
I’ve switched my farming character to a guardian, and staff + greatsword is fantastic for multiple mob tagging
I found using fraps has a performance hit in any game not just gw2, especially ones that are cpu dependant.
How I solved it was to run fraps on a seperate cpu core to the game I was recording. start fraps, ctrl alt del and bring up task manager, right click the fraps .exe and set its affinity to a cpu core other than 0 or 1 (if you gave more than 2 cores).
then run your game and you shoukld see an improvement.
I also found setting the hard drive the videos are written to, to a different one than the games on to be beneficial, its preferable to not have fraps writing videos to the same disk the game is trying to read from at the same time
Quite a few ppl I saw got leaf of kudzu, I got an ogden piece, dragonfury, 2 rares and the karka bag and accessory
As I understand it, Philosophers stones make offensive, Crystals make defensive.
The stat combinations on the back piece you’re talking about, with magic find, were crafted with vicious claws, which make exotic explorers (magic find) gear.
I thing the t6 material you use, will vary the stat combinations, powerful blood for instance, I’m guessing will make pow/pre/crit back pieces, like the beserkers exotic gear it makes.
Try deleting some old mail, even if your mailbox is not full, deleting old mail can help
awesome, cant wait to see how http://www.gw2db.com/items/72424-prototype-fractal-capacitor quivver is made, its a beserkers version
+24 pow
+17 pre
+1% crit
+32 pow
+4% crit
+18 pre
well, the mystery achievements are killing karka and doing fractal dungeons, as fractals is staying after the event, you can definately complete that afterwards, and I heard karka island is staying as a level 80 zone as well, which if true would also allow you to complete afterwards.
PoIs in the Heart of the Mists? (SPvP lobby)
they dont count towards 100% map completion.
A few questions op
1. have you recieved 2x gifts of exploration yet?
2. opening your map in PVE are the poi’s vistas etc at:
Hearts: 301/301
Waypoints: 507/507
POI: 719/719
Skillpoints: 202/202
Vistas: 266/166
3. did you go to the chantry of secrets through the asura gate in fort trinity? (NOT via bloodtide coast)
It’s was only “easier” for the guys that rushed and got their legendary early and bought mats at fire sale prices.
3g lodestones and 30s t6 mats isn’t “harder” – it’s just ridiculous.
I didnt rush out and get a precursor early, i had to gamble at the forge for mine, finally got it two weeks ago, though it was Kudzu and not Lover, buy hey, I just made Kudzu instead (and I’m glad I did, rainbows are overrated)
After 750 hours in game, and 31 10x tries for clovers to get my 77, I found that I had all the t6 mats I needed except the blood and scales.
Because some people would rather buy the materials straight from TP then collect them themselves, the prices have risen, especially with the demand increasing with the extra chances at precursors added to the game.
You’ll also notice that now its easier (very slightly) to get a precursor yourself, TP precursor prices have dropped. Dusk is 150g less than it was a week ago.
The game was built around dynamic events, events are the key
I can vouch for Aurora Glade, not had any problems with anyone on there.
We supposedly have great dungeon runners, and I must say no runs I’ve been on have been messy, and LA is a constant hub of groups getting together.
While we’re not the best at WvWvW, as Glitch said, quite a lot of our WvW dedicated guilds left for winning servers, we won our last match and are currently winning this one by 50k points so far and our current crop of commanders are very competant imo. We also rarely have WvW queues, so you wont have any problems getting in if you ever fancy a game for awhile.
Social side, theres never a problem getting a party together in orr, WvW is constant chatter and LA is always full of chat going on inbetween the lfgs
“Kitten me these legendary greatswords look awful, I’m gonna craft myself the minstrel”
Well, I’m the leader of my guild, and we’ve gone from 70 active members to about 15-20.
Now our guild was set up as a in game haven for those from our gaming community (mainly counter strike and team fortress) to come and play gw2 with their friends. many have moved onto, or back to other games.
I personally will not kick or clear out any of them, not just because I know them all anyway from other games, but because you never know when they’ll be back.
With no monthly fee, gw2 has a great opportunity for players to return, even if only for new added content, or special events, or just to have a quick run around when no other games taking your fancy, imagine if they return to find they’re guildless.
Until we reach the 500 member guild cap (and i cant see that happening) I’ve leaving everybody where they are. no point missing out on potential influence
theres 2 types of pvp open to you
Structured pvp (spvp) a team based capture point based small scale tournament style game
Here, by entering “the mists” (the crossed swords icon top of screen) you are automatically level 80, with the same access to weapons and gear as any other pvper (from the merchants in the mists). You also have all traits and skills unlocked here.
This is fantastic imo, as everyones on a level playing field, its truely pvp and not gear v gear.
Set up your pvp build and away you go!
Here you earn “glory” to spend on pvp skins and stuff, and gain Glory pvp rank. I dont think you earn xp here, but i could be wrong
The second type is WvW
Wvw is a large scale battle accross 4 maps between 3 different servers, accessed by joining the battle from the castle icon top of screen
You can join at any level, and are bumped up to level 80 stat wise, but you keep your trairts and skills from pve, unlike spvp. So while theoretically level 80, having better gear and skills and traits unlocked in pve will give you a slight advantage here.
You gain xp and loot here as you would in pve, its just like pve but against other people
I have this happen sometimes, with ori tools and black lion tools, it happens if I happen to be in combat at the time.
Anyone should have a chance at becoming a
Legend and gold should not be the main standard as to who is legendary and who isn’t.
I’m anyone. I have a legendary.
I didnt exploit, play the tp (im really bad at it), excessivly grind (I’ve never seen diminishing returns) I’m just dedicated and patient. Played the game as intended and found after 700 hours of play I already had 75% of the materials for one.
“Anyone” already has a chance at legendary, though I agree the hit and miss of the forge is probably not the best way precursors should work, it does at least ensure “anyone” can get one, random is random and favors no one in particular.
I do however absolutely agree with your statement that Gold should not be the deciding factor.
With “prestige” tier3 armor set at 119g and the base gold costs for the legendary weapon (120g recipe+runestones) we have an idea of what constitutes anets thoughts on “a lot of money”
The problems we have is:
Gold sellers offering precursors for real life cash. I dearly hope this is something the change addresses.
Early godskull exploiters cornering the market with their personal stash of tens of precursors. I personally feel if the Godskulls had their precursors deleted at the time, we’d have a more stable, more realistic picture of what a precursor is worth on the tp.
My main personal issue with changing the way precursors drop, isnt that they will be too easy for people to obtain, its that certain precursors will be.
I bet no one’s complaining that the Bard is too hard to get rng, or rage is too hard to get rng.
Everyone wants a [Dusk]. Everyone wants a Dawn. or a Lover
If people were happy going for any legendary, they wouldnt be shouting down the door trying to change things, but the fact is theres only 3 or 4 people are going for, and this is reflected in the tp prices.
Legendarys are not in any way unreachable in the precursor markets current state.
The popular Legendarys are.
I bought Rage for 20g off the tp and decided that was what I was going to go for, and if a “better” precursor dropped in the time it took me to gather all the other materials, then I’d craft that instead.
I’ll admit I was lucky, I got dawn and Kudzu drop with 400 rares thrown into the forge and I had to sell dawn to fund kudzu (sunrise would have been cool, but no way could I have got the charged lodestones without tp playing).
So I wasn’t fussy, or particular and my patience paid off.
I ordered the soundtrack from them 4 weeks before release, and it took 7 weeks to get to me (in th U.K.)
I had an issue where on my orders page, somehow it was showing 4 different orders for the same thing, all 2 minutes apart.
I contacted their support and got a reply within 2 days, sorting my issue out, deleting the additional orders.
How long have you waited for the order and what was tge original delivery estimate?
Why? legendary is not a rarity. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/legendary
Goes to trade post, searches weapon, filters by rarity, sees legendary is the option after exotic, ignores your link thats unrelated to the game in question.
Again, you’re not the standard. If you have a legendary then you are among the 0,5%. The things you did don’t apply to the common player. 2 million people can’t make money off finding good farming spots before anyone else or selling items while they’re still in low supply. We need a more universal method, something everyone can engage in.
Then rename “legendaries” to “common”?
so because after 2 months many people haven’t got the hard to get legendarys, they’re being made easier to get? waitwhut
Secondarily, all can rest assured that Legendaries will remain legendary.
By the six, I hope so.
After 750 hours and a lot of playing, I crafted Kudzu tuesday night, the third (to my knowledge) legendary on Aurora Glade. And I actually feel legendary for having achieved this. (No I didnt buy a precursor when they were cheap, I had to pray to zommoros like most people)
I know I’m being selfish, but I do not want my achievement devalued in any way.
I’ve adventured none stop since this game was released, I love this game, can’t see myself stopping. By playing naturally (well, there was some cs farming, but that too I enjoy) I had 90% of the stuff needed to complete a legendary, and now I have Kudzu, the third legendary (to my knowledge) to be crafted on AG, I can say:
Totally worth it.
whilst in a party, we were discussing how often exotics dropped from forging random rares. One guy said it was a 20% chance, 5-6 from every 100 rares, another guy didn’t believe him.
So I bought 100 random rares off the tp for 14g, kept combining until I had none left
Got 6 exotics and Dawn (dawn came from a trident, warhorn and 2 spears)
Tried the day after with 300 random rares and got leaf of Kudzu
The day after, I spent my remaining money on rares (70g) and got Bard
End result: Dawn, Leaf of Kudzu Bard and 0 gold remaining
Sold dawn and Bard, crafted Kudzu with the proceeds
So currently, I run condition shortbow/traps build (20.20.15.0.15) and spend a lot of time in parties running around cursed shore doing the major mob events (grenth, plinx, etc) for loot to sell for gold.
Today, Leaf of Kudzu popped out the mystic forge and I’m rather keen to craft the legendary and use it.
I used longbow alot during betas, in conjunction with Greatsword and loved its pure power and the safety of the range it would give me, but i’m struggling to see how I can build my traits/utilitys around doing what I enjoy doing in cursed shore with the longbow.
Is there a way? I’ve read a few of the other threads and they seem to focus on WvW and 1v1s, apart from piercing arrows, and barrage, what else can I do to help hit multiple mobs? Obviously to make use of the longbows range, traps are now out of the question.
All help gratefully recieved!
I have great success with magic find, but I only really noticed a difference once I reached over 130% extra magic find total. (i currently have 160%)
As far as I can tell, it doesnt affect forge or chests, what it does effect is drops from mobs, and it doesnt effect amount, iit effexcts quality.
I regularly get multiple rare items drop from events.
I personally wouldn’t go armorsmith and weaponsmith at the same time, while both provide useful items, they both use the same metal and trophys, making it hard to level both at the same time without having to buy materials off the tp.
An alternative is Armorsmith + Jewelry
Armorsmith will give you armor and bag creation, and jewelry will give you 5 slots of accessorys that you can make for your character.
The 5 accessory slots jewelry provides for outweighs the 2/3/4 (depending on the weapons you like) weaponslots, Jewelry also uses different materials (gold/silver/platinum/gems) to armorsmith making it easier to level both at the same time.
You’ll get more weapons drop in PVE than accessories.
I’m in the same position as Op
I’ve been getting the materials together for Frenzy, the legendary harpoon gun, hoping that while i did so, maybe a better pecursor (lover) would drop and I could craft that instead.
Last night, while discussing exotic drop rates from forge, I bought 100 rare random weapons and combined them all to see how many exotics came out, one of 7 exotics that popped out was Dawn!
So I’m sat here, 30g and 160k karma away from the harpoon gun, which i didnt really want to craft anyway, and now I have dawn.
Should I go for Sunrise? It looks fantastic yes, but 100 charged lodestones and the underpowered nature of ranger greatswords putting me off.
Last I checked, dawn on tp was 330g, lover was 338g
I would say its more likely censored because “sega” is a registered trademark elsewhere.
TL;DR
you’ve had a whole month to do this achievement and you failed because you left it all until the last day.
Artificer. theres a guide in the crafting section to level artificer using potions, you can level it to 400 for less than 1g
(edited by Safari.3021)
26 attempts 6 lots of 10 clover back, thats 1 in 4.333
Sounds about right. Whats the complaint?
I really like my corrupted shortbow, its icy and has evaporation graphical effects on it. I’m pretty sure the longbow looks the same/very similar.
Will cost about 18g, but hey, love hurts :P
You should have recieved 2 gifts of exploration.
if you did not, then enter the chantry of secrets through the asura gate in fort trinity
yes I know you may have got that POI by entering chantry through bloodtide, but trust me, go there from fort trinity
The maximum magic find you can carry at any time is 235%, I have no idea how to get it any higher.
225% extra mf:
6 pieces exotic explorers 6×3% =18%
5x Pirate runes 50%
1x Travellers rune 10%
5x exotic opal orichalcum accessories = 5×7% =35%
1x exquisite opal gem in back slot = 4%
travellers weapon 3%
25x stack of superior sigil of luck 15%
guild boost 10%
omnom/lotus fries 30%
mf booster 50%
This sometimes increases to 235% if i find a guild banner about.
I’ve run with this since the second week of the game, nearly 500 hours of magic find goodness, and I’ve only had 1 exotic drop. Some heavy armor level 78 boots, from a risen drake hatchling during Plinxes landing zone event in Cursed Shore.
3.5g? I paid 6g for mine a month ago :/
I think its a by product of sticking rares into the forge
sell the rares on tp, don’t salvage them.
thats about the same % i got from opening 100, I got the rifle and greatsword skins
I did, I found leaving the rumble and reentering got my achievement to progress to 3/4
Ele has great dps potential (fire), its also the best “tank” style class in the game, if you trait it right (tou/vit)
I’ve found necro to be quite surviveable, it has a large healthpool and also a second healthbar if you use your f1 death shroud as such
I think this is a bug, you’d need all 6 armor pieces to have the rune to get all 6 tier bonuses.
Also make sure you buy a 7th, for the aqua breather, as the aqua breather switches places with your helm when underwater
the entrance is via an underwater tunnel thats right by the truffle heart vender to the southwest
I’ve had the corrupted shortbow since the second week and am always getting asked where i got it from, Its got a slight blue glowy effect and ice evaporation effect coming off it. Love it.
I’ve won and lost as both teams in rumble and still have 2/4 on mad kings world, ( i had 2/4 before going there for first time)
Edit:
Left and rejoined the rumble, and now its updated to 3/4
(edited by Safari.3021)
just now, took 3 hours of attempts :P
theres 2 in the chantry, once by going through bloodtides entrance, and again, through the asura gate in fort trinity
T stones. I had 80 whispers gear at level 40 this way, buying the rare level 80 set and using fine t stones to bring it down to my level
No, for the reward and gifts of exploration, its just 100% poi, waypoints, skillpoints and hearts.
The exploration title “been there done that” is a seperate entity and not required for 100% map completion
