With level 80 exotics, you can get near the temple of Balth and cap the skillpoint, but you’ll want to bring a friend, and may need a touch of luck since the raining fire can interrupt the cap. I made 6 pushes at Balth over the last weekend and got in once, failing 4 times on Veteran Subjugators (poor luck) and once at the ambush (Untrained zerg, not helped by poor luck). I’m waiting to see what future patches bring before making regular opening of Balth a thing again for me — I can assemble a decent zerg to try opening the place, but calling up a zerg doesn’t generate the luck we need. I know Sarahfull expects more from me, but there’s limits to what I can swing, even on my home server that does great with temples.

As for the Temple of Melandru: grab 9 friends and cap it. It’s not especially hard, you just need a minimum number of players with decent gear (Rare or better), and basic understanding of the final event, which is easy to get by trying it once.

^^ I may do things alittle different than the guides you have read, I like to tech the strats used for like 40+ so when you advance through the lvls you dont get lost and have to change/learn a new strat.

If anyone has experience with it can you chain 3 heals from the turrets water field with that loadout? I haven’t yet but I have displayed poor timing.

Place your healing turret and overcharge it, drop your supply create, ‘pop’ your healing turret and use “throw wrench”
If you get the timing down you will have two blasts of water and regeneration from the throw wrench.

In stead of the “throw wrench” you can instead use Eg skill 4 ( anoher blast ), you can use you jumpshot from rifle, you can use your blast on the sheild or any other finisher you want to try

Im sorry, I think its saver to use Gk and Bk in fractals so I would miss them too much.

The blind bomb reduces soo much damge during stacking and the BoB can create space to res/breath and provide healing/might at the same time

While you can out range the canons on the gredge fractal ( left side ) wih the Gk. You can also agro the colossus in the jade from 1500 range if you target the ground under neath them

I like your skill2 better than mine, and your other skills seem very style-ish which is awesome and its a great idea for the hammer not involving turrets :p

Tbh I believe there is nothing anet can do to buff it to what we want and have a balance between engi’s and siege weapons. That’s why I believe they should remove the mortar from us and make it a normal siege weapon for anyone in WvW, that way they CAN buff it up like crazy and make it a siege weapon we all know mortar’s are

As for the empty elite this will open up for us? well we have already come up with our own idea’s! there is loads of kit ideas out there, just choose one of them and make it a elite skill.

My name is Sarah and I would like to share with you all my idea of the skills a hammer might give for a engineer. I’m not really interested in naming the skills so If anyone enjoys doing that, they may. I hope you enjoy and share my interest in the idea of engineers one day being able to wield hammers.

Skill one
part a & b would both be a basic auto attack
part c would do more damage and over charge a turret that you hit

Throw Junk – 5 seconds recharge
frustrated that your foe is kiting you, you throw junk at them.
you throw a slightly upgraded version of this “http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Throw_Junk”

Skill Three – 15 seconds recharge
hit the ground with your hammer, knocking down foes next to you and sending out a wave around you crippling foes and auto-charge turrets hit

Skill four – 25 seconds recharge
With great precision you hit your target hard. You hit your foe for critical dmg. if you hit a turret it gets healed a medium amount and applies the following effects:

Healing turret: Water field, 4 seconds duration ( 8 seconds if overcharged )
Flamer turret: Fire field, 4 seconds duration ( 8 seconds if overcharged )
Mortar: you and the Mortar gain Stability, 10 seconds duration
Net turret: Drops a timed delay glue bomb at it’s next attack
( AOE centred on it’s self, larger AOE if its overcharged )
Rifle turret: For the next 4 seconds ( 8 if overcharged ) the rifle turrets attacks cause 1 second of cripple
Rocket turret: you and the Rocket turret gain protection, 4 seconds duration ( 8 seconds if overcharged )
Thumper turret: you and the thumper turret gain Stability, 4 seconds duration ( 8 seconds if overcharged )

Skill five – 40 seconds recharge
A big overhead leaping smash that does AOE dmg and knocks down foes. ( like the leap of the cliffside fractal boss ) If you land on top of a turret, The turret breaks (still counts as a blast finish) and you get the following effects:

Healing turret: apply 4 seconds of chill in a medium AOE ( 8 seconds if the turret was overcharged )
Flame turret: A slightly larger "throw Napalm " effect ( A huge “throw napalm” effect if the turret was overcharged )
Mortar: The mortar malfunctions and cant tell friend from foe, the mortar fires 4 times in a row “Launch Concussion Barrage” at its own location ( when the centre of its AOE on its self) destroying its self and anyone caught in its aoe. * the 4 Launch Concussion Barrage are one after another without recharge times. *
Net turret: Apply 2 seconds of stun in a medium AOE ( Larger AOE if the turret was overcharged )
Riffle turret: Bullets fly everywhere applying 3 stacks of bleed for 4 seconds ( 6 stacks if the turret is overcharged )
Rocket turret: The rocket turret malfunctions and cant tell friend from foe, the turret Launches a final rocket up into the air and lands its own location ( when the centre of its AOE on its self ) the turret is destroyed and everyone caught in the blast gets launched high into the air and has weakness applied to them for 4 seconds * this attack counts as a blast finisher as is different from the one you get for the turret breaking*
( the AOE of the final rocket is increased if the turret was overcharged)
Thumper turret: Launches all foes off the ground ( launches foes even higher if the turret is overcharged )

I know this is leaning a lot to turrets but you don’t have to use them with the hammer, you still get a cripple, a 100% crit attack and a leaping aoe knock down. Even using one turret would still give you some nice effects without moving away too much of what you were normally doing. Anyway I wanted to see what you guys think of it and hopefully Anet likes it too.

You can take the rifle if you like, Its the weapon I take in. Just remember to add jump shot to your combo fields for that leap finish. As you know you can leap after your healing turret combo, or your poison nades, smoke field ( if you need time to heal or res ) and any other fields your party might have.

Just be carefull of your powershot , you dont want to push yourself into the lava pools because its really hard to res friends on them. Also try and net the boss when you feel like he’s about to put his sheild on to by you sometime.

Although everything else krag says I agree with.
Also another general tip is: try and keep the boss in the middle of the map, it gives you all more time ( generally ) to take down his sheild unless you get lucky with which human he wants.

My name is Sarah and my home server is Fort Aspenwood! ( North american server )
My characters name is: sarahfull and I based her off me so I could “add myself to the game” ( I only have the one character and I love my engi! )

I love my fractals ( I do them a lot ) and I also love helping people so that’s why I’m here! I believe this is the right spot so I’ll post it here.
Anyway I am here to let everyone know ( even if its a little late ) that I’m here to help you fractal!

It does not matter what ( fractal ) level you are or whether your new to fractals or not, feel free to contact me and ask for my help!

All I ask is for a few simple things:

- must be level 80

Turrets are fine in fratcals! You can make a konga line of them to protect yourself against “tom’s” spinning move. Also you can have the flame turret at the back of any stacking, and have it overchange smoke giving you aoe blindness along side your smokebomb and what else the party has.

?!?! I run 30/30/0/10/0 with divinty runes and celestial armor and I dont find it hard to stack up the vul.
I dont get the full stacks on defiant enemies sure but I can get it on everyone else. Ive always had a target crit chance of 50% when I was still changing my armor stats around and still didnt have a problem with vul.

I hope the tune of my post doesnt come across the wrong way. Its just from my exp <3

I agree in finding that one class you truely love! ?.? Guildwars2 is also my first mmo and I have almost been playing this for a year now. I have only one character and I love her to bits cause I also try and make myself into the games I play ^-^ Im a engi from Sea of sorrows!! so if your ever in SoS, feel free to come say hi! Of course it makes sense to wear leather, I’m not saying Engineer should get a different armor class, but I mean just look at HoTW and CoE armor for example, even Arah, those armors just don’t look like something an Engineer would put on.

I can see a engi wearing the girl CoE armor it looks good!
