Dw op, eventully you wont be able to tell the difference between a zerk organised group and a farm bot.

Basicly vul stacking off crits, and I feel 50% is enough.

I kinda feel like PvE and/or everyone has gone zerk or nothing so I geuss I need to go this way too. So besides my main outfit " celestial " Ill make a zerk outfit too..
sigh..

Anyway I feel/love having 50% crit chance and I feel thats basicly all I need. So my Question is: will the zerker stat give me this or will I need some assassain in my new outfit? Im talking armor and trinkets atm. Oh, traits are 30/30 and assassian stat pred so I have some presion already..

Im not sure if this is a dum question, as zerker may naturaly bring my crit chance higher than my target but I feel like I might as well ask.

Hmm Im kinda in the same boat, although im 0,30,0,10,30 with d/d. When I tried the 30 fire I found myself wanting to stack that fury out of combat whenever I could and started alot of fights with stuff on cd.
I do see your point about Evasive arcana and that IS my main reason for the 30 points. If I did stop using a dogde roll for a blast and only used it for dogding, wouldnt that kinda mean I wont need sigil of energy as well?!

Exploring the world with a friend is AWESOME ^ ^ its what I did and I loved it. I started with a engi, and I havent touched a second character till very late last year..

This is interesting cause its close to my build than I run in PvE. I just use celestial, runes of the traveller, rifle and I have my HT, nades, thumper turret, BK and supply instead

I come from a engi, and Im still new and learning ele. (Im only lvl51 on my ele)

the 1st thing that puts me off your build is the “lack” of blast finishers but surely I could just run the new heal, anyway would this sort of build work in PvE aswell?

I know this is selfish but I like being a “rare class” it makes us more unique ^ ^

Although Ive seem alot more engis now-a-days and most of them are spaming flamethrow out of range of the world bosses and not hitting anything..

I totally agree. They are ugly but unfortunely Ive gotten “use to them”

I dont mean to be pushy, please learn your healing turret as soon as you can. After you got it please learn how to “combo the turret with itsself:” its the best healing tool while you lvl up. Ofc when you get to 80 it depends on your build but for now, your turret is your best friend.

The combo is: place healing turret, overcharge it so it releases a water combo field, detonate turret to make a blast finisher and in turn blast the water feild healing you and your allies ^ ^

I love my engi, <3 all those blasts make for great setups and you can run such a nice jack-of-all-trades build ^^

Fractals is a lvl80 dundeon. To lvl up your fractals lvl, you need to do a set of 3fractals and a boss in a row.

You guys are right, Im a horrorable teacher. Im speading toxic ways to new-comers.

I know now:

• The only way to learn in guildwars PvE is zerkers ( all information learnt in other outfits should be thrown under a bus )
• The only way to become better in guildwars PvE is zerkers ( personal rules / goals dont matter unless your in zerker )

Not going to lie, the fact that your attitude has shifted so significantly from your Teachers post to now is really disheartening.

As an IRL teacher, I know that good teachers understand that there will be people out there who know more than you do, and the best thing you can do, to teach well, is to accept that you won’t always be right. Learning more is always the way to be an effective teacher.

This post really upset me, and I had a hard time to adjust to this and understand it. I ask a friend about it and we think there is a misunderstanding of what I mean.

The thing I hate about “zerker” is people who say that they are a better player just cause they are wearing it

I’m not looking down on people who’re running “zerkers”, its just I do not believe either are superior and that you don’t need to have either equipped to learn the attack patterns of the dungeon bosses. I believe some people play better in whatever outfit they are in and of course people play differently, I just hope everyone can work with each other.

Any crap build is “viable” in pve, as in sure, they can finish a dungeon. Zerker is the smartest, most efficient build for dungeons. There’s really no debate.

Your right, there really is no debate.. To you all this game is, is a time trial racing game so what ever build achieves this the fastest is: ( as you put it ) " the smartest, most efficient build"

Greetings Sarah, id like to join in on any of your runs so i can learn to instruct fractals. I can do all levels. Will contact you via your linked posted in game to arrange these possibilities.

I may have conquered fracs but one only masters it by teaching, id like to reach that level

Well I’m still not the best teacher but this would be great for everyone, we all get to practice fractals! (you and me teaching it, while the others learning how to do it)

Dungeons sadly is the only area in PVE, I’ve run into players being jerks. Normally players are very helpful in the open world and during group events.

Really? Champion train people…. Now they are mean.

There are jerks who kill the boss before the people who do pre-quest arrive. Happens every time.

I usually read in the pvp forums how new players get trashtalked for making a mistake or entering soloque immediately when you’re a beginner, I’m a 100% against this since everyone started some where, also that’s why there is a matchmaking system, so new players don’t get put up with more experienced ones.

However.. It seems like pve is no different. I’ve been playing Gw2 since beta we1. Always enjoyed pvp more then pve since I like the idea of being competitive and beating other players with no gear advantage, purely skill. Now, the past few days I’ve been trying out pve, obviously I tried to find party’s to try out a dungeon.. I’m a level 80 elementalist with full exotic gear and ascended trinkets, just this past hour. every time I asked people to willingly explain me the dungeon they kicked me.

I actually have plently of experience on how to play my character I’m just asking for some information how the dungeon is and what I can expect. All it takes is like 5 minutes of explaining and I’m on my way.

It’s honestly no surprise why new players on gw2 just turn the game down and try something else with a community like this. Maybe I’ve been unlucky, I’ll try out some more parties and see how it goes. If it doesn’t work out, oh well, back to some pvp action I guess.

Depending on the dungeon, I dont mind explaining things to people who want it. My main area though is fractals and thats where I know my stuff but I would be more than happy helping out with the others if I know it.

Oh as for reqirements.. Im VERY elitlest about them..

• must be atlest the level reqirement
• willing to learn
• no trolling and / or flaming basicly all that bad stuff

I would say healing turret myself. Although you may go into a more specialised build later, learning how to combo the healing turret with itself will help you alot as you start lvling up as a engi.

The basic combo is: place it, over charge it, detonate it.

If done correctly you will see a large blast of water and thats a big AOE heal and removeal of two conditions.

The how to is: when you press to overcharge it, you will see the turret spin around and release steam ( combo field water ), thats when you want to detonate the turret ( blast finisher effect ). You dont need to wait for the steam once you get the timing, and its even possable on the move too

Once you get the hang of it, you may want to add to your combo and / or try dfferent combo fields

Why PUG? You ask!? To help others learn the habbits so they can climb the fractal ladder own there own and/or with us. And once they get up to the higher lvls they will be alrite cause they will either know the strats or have a rough idea and will understand why people do things a different way

A great place to start is with the healing turret.
The basic combo is with its self – place, over chager, pop it ( detonate turret )
After you get use to this combo ( both in combat and on the move ) you can start looking into what else you can do with your water field. (Botht the combo and the tool belt skill the turret gives you)

For expample:
- you can get a blast off your supple create in that basic combo.

- if you use rifle, your jump shot combos with the water field, while your sheild (skill 4 I think ) also combos in

- if you have your toolkit, you can throw your rench through the water field.

Just keep looking around and find what you like doing with your and your allies combo fields

You can also look for two skills that work well together. Two examples would be: rumble ( thumper turret toolbelt) into the powershot of the rifle;
And glue bomb / glue shot into big o bomb ( BoB )

I am exactly like this. I encourage newbies to come with, ask questions and have fun. I don’t see the appeal in exclusively running high level fractals and I remember how long it took me to get to a reward level where running fractals was worth my time.
So I don’t get your logic, sorry.
Join up, find some newbies, be a cool, patient dude and then kill a giant tentacle jade monster thing. Don’t just sit high and mighty on your reward level 99.

I would prefer if Anet added some incentives to encourage veterans to help the newbies, but I suppose helping people is its own reward, so eh.
