I miss him too. He’s the best possible traveling and combat companion. He is still working on some sort of “time travel project” with the Asura, but with the crafty Asura continually raising the price, we’ll see how that goes.

There are alternatives. I understand there’s a charr catapult that could get him going 88 mph; all we’d need is a bolt of lightning (or a few good eles), and we’re golden.

I’ve been running around the lower halls for over a week, diving into every rat hole that I can find. I can’t locate a 10th milestone, but every time I am told 9 is not enough.

1. It seems like the armor you receive favors the weights your character cannot use. This is true in an absolute sense, since 2/3 of all armors should be for other professions if it is a random draw, but it feels stingier than even that.

2. Consumables (aka champ bags) are notoriously bad for drops. They are unaffected by Magic Find and are seriously weighed towards Masterwork and lower rarity rewards.

Good timing. Apparently they returned today.

Sounds like a column width issue. Are they adjustable?

Its not that I dont believe you that you actually unlocked all those recipes, usually you are pretty thorough but considering that you found 1 more for armorsmith than for tailor and leatherworker makes me wonder if you just messed up in posting your numbers here or you messed up in acquiring all recipes.

It depends on two things:
1. Do you know where to look?
2. Can you actually look there?

The API offers strong evidence, but it also has large swaths of hidden data, and the different parts of the APIs aren’t always in agreement with what they think can be shown. Reaper of Souls was in the wardrobe API from the day the wardrobe API was created, but it didn’t show up in the items API until after the first Reaper was forged. Using the API as a map and a few tricks, you could see that it was likely a product of the forge. The same tricks would get you the list of original armor box recipes. Mystic discovered that there are some that cannot be made any more (Magic Find armors). They will likely never get into the item API now, but we know of their existence thanks to its relationship with their contemporaries.

There’s the rub. As new groups of items are added to the item database, they end up at new indices – in new parts of the API map. If you don’t know to go poking at these new regions too, you won’t find them.

plenty of food feast and armor box recipes have not been made yet, or at least not been on the TP yet and i dont think all transformation potions have been discovered either.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say all armor box recipes have been discovered.
personally, I have every single one unlocked (346 of them). maybe 1/4 were purchased off the TP, the rest I [had] made. Believe you me, it was not easy or short.
I identified them by searching for the item’s API for key words such as ‘recipe’, ‘box’, ‘armor’, ‘satchel’, etc.
same goes for feast recipes (181 of those)
my theory is that either I made it, or a friend of mine did (I hired them), or someone did and listed it on the TP.

Mystic, you are a marvel. I should have known someone hit those things systematically.

To my earlier predictions, I’m adding a pistol.

Depends on what you are referring to. It might not be possible to datamine combinations. The resulting items can be examined.

The difference here is the same. I couldn’t tell you if you could actually make 37049 any more. Whatever combination is in place to handle the legacy item may or may not have been updated to point to the replacement for its original product.

also, what’s the difference between 37020 and 37025? I expect 37025 to be the real one, but then what is 37020 all about?

These appear to be functionally identical, so I’ll draw your attention to a couple of other things. 37020 only appeared in the API within the last couple of months, while the rest have been around for more than a year. The capacitors are grouped in blocks of 5; 37020 starts off a block of 5 that is otherwise unviewable. There are similar blocks of 5 items of unviewable data in between blocks of capacitors. What you probably have here is some item data that somehow got exposed that shouldn’t have been. Maybe it has something to do with the beta, but I think it can be safely ignored for now.

All the numbers meaningful to me are taken. Give me whatever is next.

I dug it out of wiki. As far as I know, it’s still not in the API.

A week ago I threw in 4 Exotic Greatswords all level 80 in Forge, I get back an Exotic Horn. To me that’s a downgrade. That happend 4 times already, throwing in 4 of the same items and getting some other weapon back. Has the Mystic Forge changed and is this supposed to happen randomly or is it a bug?

More than likely, what you thought were four items of the same type, weren’t. There are a lot of sword and spear icons that look like greatswords. Maces are easy to confuse with scepters for the same reason.

I’d like to say you made a mistake on the rares, but I’m willing to trust you can tell yellow from green. An upgrade hasn’t been guaranteed by Anet, but I doubt they’d knowingly screw someone by giving them back lower quality gear. Maybe the forge gave you someone else’s result.

The first appears to be Satchel of Pillaging Leather Armor. It fits with the surrounding items.

Should you have actually used the thing, and it was level 80, you could have crafted it into its corrupted counterpart, which would remove the binding until you used it again.

Wolf’s already covered via Norn T3 Cultural weapons. Maybe they could expand there?
