They’ve really been doing this for a long time, now, but it’s become a lot more noticeable with bundling Outfits and Gliders without offering ways to buy either separately. The part I seriously dislike is that they have a new weapon set only available by buying bundles, so if you want one of those, you have to shell out the full price of the bundle to get one.

The reduced price on these things is 2000 gems; the actual price, which they could charge in the future, is 2850 gems – $35 in real money terms. I could buy another game for that much. I think I’d get a lot more enjoyment out of that than I would out of a shallow handful of skins, no matter how pretty.

The winter glider bundle is tempting, as I originally wanted an ice-themed ele way back in GW1, but Chronicles of Mystara might be a better value ;D

Just out of curiosity, how is this different than having a bot farm for you? The only real difference I can see is that it’s a bot bought from the gemstore rather than a bot from an outside program.

Highly limited in scope. You have a maximum of one of each type of node that it can access.

The culprit is minor/major sigils and runes.

I would kill for a salvage-o-matic with 0% chance to recover upgrades, because sigils/runes are utterly worthless garbage.

The mystic forge recipe is a joke, on the tiny chance you get upgraded to a sup, it will be one of the 99% that are useless and worth 2s

The inv just fills up so fast with these little kittens and the problem is when I salvage an item I do it to free the inventory slot up, not replace the inventory slot with something else I can’t salvage and have to find a vendor and manually click to sell it for 20 copper JUST to free the slot up that I wanted to free up in the first place.

I have a fix.

Click on the offending upgrade in your inventory.

Manually drag it off the inventory window.

Confirm destruction.

Since you don’t mind if the thing never gets salvaged anyway, just sidestep your need to wring every last penny out of your salvage and toss it.

Just wanted to add to this. We’re already seeing that these guys want to muddy the waters by getting innocent players caught in the net. Photoshop is still a thing. It’s not hard to doctor a screenshot, and reddit has a problem with at least one prick that likes to impersonate other players and try to bring the devs down on them. Let the security guys hunt them down with THEIR tools

Those aren’t my screenshots. I saved them to my computer. They were posted on the botter’s public forums* by one of the players botting the jumping puzzle.

So I added another botter as a friend to check their AP out of curiosity, but the list showed them offline. This means one of two things: they either blocked me or reported me. Considering that I never spoke to them or gave any indication that I was at the computer, I assume they didn’t block, but reported me instead.

I started checking to see if I was being reported by every fellow botter I saw. At least half are reporting me, which means they’re probably reporting you, too. It’s probably safer if the botting program didn’t put you under the starting area so that others would know for sure that you’re botting.

It’s disgusting to think that the main source of ban reports that ArenaNet reviews comes from our own ******* community.

API for Essence of Light is returning blank, which implies it hasn’t dropped or the API is bugged. None of the item sites I use are showing it either. I don’t think anyone has gotten one yet.

Almost certainly NOT what you are looking for.

Since most runes don’t really correlate well with their ingredients, blind combinations it is.

Most involve 1 refined material (bolt/ingot/square) and 1-2 lodestone bits (or one lodestone) or some other rare material (doubloons, etc). Some require a recipe sheet to be learned first.

Not that I’m calling the devs stupid, but you seriously need to chill. The testing for these couldn’t happen in an actual play environment. There weren’t 200 real players lusting after a priestess’ death to compete with the need to have one wraith spawn half a map-area away. There isn’t a large contingent of devs trying to make an established event chain fail to farm champs while the testers are pushing it forward towards the one that gives the goodies they want. The mindset is not the same and never will be.

Now it IS the testers job to consider modes of failure, but often times it takes cultural intervention before some of them will come to light. Unfortunately, we’ve been down this road before. , so this possibility should have been seen coming. But think a little bit before you go accusing people of snickering into their sleeves as they purposefully set people into a rage.

That’d because they never went in the forge before. Their uses were ‘known’ and limited.

Well, congrats. I’d completely written it off as a drop. What sucks about this is that it means any material that didn’t go into the forge before needs to be rechecked ;(

I think I might even know why this is. Every gathering tool and node is assigned a level. When you use a tool, you briefly swap your weapon out to it, and the node checks against the gather level of your equipped item.. When you’re in tonic form, the tonic overrides your weapon, and it appears it overrides your gathering tools.

Difficulties: Not all jumps are created equal.

At Checkpoint 1 (your score = 10) you can use Lightning Pull to cross. It is one of two places it can still be used.

At Checkpoint 4 you reach the first major branch in the race. The Lightning Pull way breaks off to the left. The bridge path is often gated off if you aren’t playing against a large group. There is a kitten in the support pillar on the left that you can Leap up to; the positioning is tricky and requires some practice. From there you can Leap again and get over the gate. Barring that, you can use your new Dash-Leap to get to a point further past the gate (difficult), or use it to try and cross the Lightning Pull platforms.

The bridge path is slower. You’ll lose time here.

Checkpoint 5 is the second major branch. Again, there is a Lightning Pull section, and a bridge section. The choice is obvious.

Checkpoint 7 is the first place that you are likely to get hung up without Lightning Pull. Carefully position yourself at the lip of the platform and use the Dash-Leap. You will have to keep moving forward during the leap in order to reach the platform. Be careful you don’t walk off of it. Once there, Lightning Pull to the other side. This is the last time you will use this skill.

Checkpoint 8 is the second hardest part of the run, opening with a Lightning Pull to a tiny distant tower-platform, followed by shorter Lightning Pulls to a big bridge. Dash-Leap from the very lip of the ledge will get you to the first platform; the next two are close enough that you are better off using just Leap. Lightning Pull to the bridge looks inviting, but it is very easy to keep rolling right off the end; do not be fooled.

Dulfy’s vid shows her taking a shortcut after Checkpoint 9 (right before Checkpoint 10). It uses Dash-Jump. She follows it up with another shortcut that I know has been blocked. I haven’t tested her method, but it neatly sidesteps the next section.

Checkpoint 11 is the hardest part of the run. Here we have three platforms requiring Lightning Pull, and only the last one has a backstop. Aim your first Dash Leap carefully to land you on the platform. The second Dash-Leap will always overshoot the platform. With luck, you will land on top of some trees just past it. From there, you can regular-Leap back up to the platform you missed, or make an attempt to reach the next platform. Do not Lightning Pull to the last platform; if you don’t hit the backstop squarely, you will roll off and have to do this segment again. Players love to dump their Fake Powerups here, so save a Grounded to negate them. If you’re lucky enough to have a Light Travel, this is the place to use it.

From there, you should be able to get through to the end.

No glitches, but it does bypass that gate, which is what a vid would be really handy for demonstrating ;( It is also the bit that is likely to get ‘fixed’

Anyway, the secret is literally as simple as 1+2=3. Using Leap, or combining Leap and Light Dash simultaneously will get you across the gaps that are in your way. You have to position yourself carefully, and often you’ll need to make some corrective movements as you land. If you are lagging, you’ll rubberband like crazy while pulling this off.

Note that you need to poke your keys simultaneously when doing this. If Leap goes off first, you’ll nosedive into the ground and land short. If Light Dash goes off first, you’ll do a spectacular flying leap that goes long. If you have Aspect Master active or grab a crystal, you’ll overshoot, so use only the basic skills.

You won’t win a match using this method. Lightning Pull is always faster, and somehow some players still get to use it. Rubberbanding makes the dash slower than just walking, in most cases. The point is you get to finish.

There are two chests in Griffonrook Run. Are you sure you were at the last one? The final one requires you to run a bomb from the start to open it. Hopefully you don’t need to do that part to get your chart.
