Let’s not get crazy
I’ve seen villagers get hung up on harpies that weren’t near them… have you tried wholesale slaughter?
(“Wholesale slaughter” solution, can check that off the bucket list)
This has happened before. You should definitely have the item at this stage. Do you remember which risen you killed last? Was your inventory full at the time?
In the mean time, check with Hobbes to see if he’ll recover the item for you; he probably won’t, but it’s worth a try. If that fails, put in a note with Support to get the item, because even if this bug gets fixed there’s no guarantee you’ll get the charged battery as part of the fix.
The only thing to do up there is a Renown Heart and 3 events. There’s no meat armor skins, no meat-themed gliders, nadda. Sorry.
~EW
There are 6 events
- Teach a drunk a lesson
- Beat on a big wurm
- Steal its eggs
- Escort the charr bringing meat in
- Defend the norn bringing ale in
- Light off fireworks
Items of interest:
- Meatoberfest Spoon (for Koutalophile collection)
- Meatoberfest cup (Chalice of the Gods skin for a pittance in karma)
Good eye. OP must be groaning.
Summary:
Mastery point is determined by origin of final damage packet.
If damage is condition damage – no mastery point.
If damage is from pet/minion – no mastery point.
If damage is from a weapon skill, but reflected back at user, mastery point is for original weapon, not the reflecting one.
If damage is from a reflected monster skill, mastery point depends on the internal type for that monster’s skill.
If damage is from a utility/elite skill, mastery point depends on the internal type for that skill (possible to get unfitting or no mastery point)
If damage is from a bundle/environmental weapon skill, mastery point depends on the internal type for that skill (possible to get unfitting or no mastery point,; many are staff/hammer mastery).

Since progress in the Living Story 2 Quest “Meeting the Asura” is impossible as well, I would assume that the “Knockout” needed to progress the quest is a “1” skill as well (probably hidden?) and therefore this one bug seems to be the root of an incredible number of cases.
Knockout there is a channel; just press F. That said, other people are reporting it bugged, so it probably really is.
I’ll tell you what it isn’t – something that looks like its icon. Seriously, it looks like a lawn chair. Check out the preview before you buy it.
It seems weird that they would bother with it and NOT reintroduce it. But who really knows?
Did she have her special frog minipet?
I’ve seen her with a Hylek mini. I expect that’s as close as she can get until they make a special mini for her again.
As for time requirements…. with 24 characters, if your average route is 10 minutes long (including regearing, offloading junk, crafting, posting sales, and switching to the next character), that’s 4 hours. If it’s 12 minutes, the total is about 5 hours. Seems reasonable that it would take that long.
One of my biggest issues is, all my characters are running the Item Booster buff, most of which have the 2 hr. timer on them some, the 20 min timer, and honestly… I am certainly not hoarding those bad boys, and the farm itself doesn’t seem worth doing w/o the Item Booster.
Going by the numbers, not having that booster would reduce your current haul by 25%. That still seems pretty substantial to me.
I would suggest you supplement it with the Guild Gathering Boost. It’s free (if your guild has it unlocked), lasts 24h (for stress-free application), and should increase your chances of getting some of the more rare goodies these things provide.
I made one per-skin (let me tell you, that was a fun month of wandering Tyria); it’s what got me in to API walking. It only lists the cheapest though. It hasn’t been properly updated for HoT as yet.
I have to say, out of all the ANet staff I’ve seen in-game, Gaile tops the list for frequency. With her it’s about 1-3 times per week. I don’t see why OP thinks this is a rarity
This was my favorite site to go to quickly check out any new items that got added to the game. However, it hasn’t been updated in about a month now. Anyone know what’s going on?
> For the Gift of Hidden Descent though, you have to do stealth gliding will ALL classes? So you would need 8 characters (or 9 now if you include revenant)?
Like a lot of the trophies in the legendary collections, these Gifts are not items that you actually receive. They are credited to your collection once you use stealth gliding on the appropriate profession; they don’t go into your inventory..
So you do not need to do it on all of them, just on each of the ones you have that you want to get that specialization collection filled on.
The new BL staff out today makes a hell of a melee staff.
Considering neither is an actual gem, and Amalgamated Gemstones predate Flax Blossoms by about half a year, I’d say it’s intended.
Quick question: what about Maguuma Lilies?
I can’t do Outside. My computer doesn’t meet the graphical requirements.
Every account has the exact same chance on RNG.
I do not believe this for one moment. There are too many instances of lucky people. Even in our guild we have two that get so many precursors, we pool our rares in the guild bank and let them do the turn ins for us. One person has had over 30 precursors since the games launch and has made every legendary (up to and including nevermore-is working on the other new ones), even underwater ones because, why not. Deny all you want, but your system is broken.
When you have an entire guild feeding one person items/money, your little system is no longer a random model.
This was a skin item, not an armor piece, that predated the wardrobe. You wouldn’t have needed a transmutation stone to use it.
What probably happened is that you used the item and either discarded it or the character it was on.
If you can prove you earned the item, Support is usually good about giving you another copy.
Whose job is it to update this and what is their expected schedule?
We already have something like that. Furious Maintenance Oil and the like.
The problem is that I have the original skin on the original sword too. Would you say its a bug worth reporting?
Also, by 99% chance do you mean 99% chance it is overridden or 1% chance for the animation to trigger?
Also, I wonder if you know what skills trigger choking, and which enemies are affected by it.
1. Hard to say. It depends what its effects are intended to be. Choking damage seems to be a parallel to Dark damage from GW1. Given how widespread it is in HoT, I suspected that it was more effective against Mordrem. If that’s true, min/maxers are going to want them.
2. By 99% I mean that 99% of all skins are assigned the Physical damage type. The only exceptions are some legendaries and the Fiery Dragon Sword. Even torch skins are physical damage, not fire.
3. I don’t know specifics beyond Necromancer being aligned with it. Necromancer also applies lots of conditions, which don’t have a type. Death animation depends upon the type of damage done by the final hit, so if that last packet is condition damage, it’s going to obscure the damage type of the attack. If you want to test these out, look for large ambient creatures that will die in one hit and are easy to observe.
I suspect Choking does more to plants and/or mordrem, but it’s just a theory.

I can’t say I remember, Gator. I do know I didn’t get it from the chest, but I don’t recall at what point I opened it.
So, with the recent release of Heart of Thorns, the new damage type “Choking” has been added to all the new exotics.
The question is, does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Does the animation type exist? Is it perhaps a bug?
Damage type cataloguing is my work (I’m the only one interested in testing it, it seems). The HoT exotics being Choking damage is based off of data from API entries. Here’s an example.
Attaching damage types to actual weapons instead of weapon skins was something new that emerged with HoT exotics. If it turns out they aren’t actually using that DT, I wouldn’t be too surprised; it’s a break in the pattern established with what came before.
I haven’t tested out damage type for the new exotics myself. I don’t have many of the new weapons, and I’m pretty much happy with the ones I already own. It could be the skin damage type (99% of which are just physical) is overriding the one in the weapon. Skills can also have a damage type, which usually takes precedence.
The choking damage animation was originally described to me as someone acting like they’re being choked. This was true in the case of the monster being described (earth elementals). In general, though, I’ve seen the animation is identical to the one for cold damage – the target freezes up for a moment and then collapses. The main difference between the two is that cold damage causes the target’s color to pale, like it were covered in frost.
Thanks for sharing. Can you, or others, give some examples of items that formerly were offered that you’d like to see again? I’m happy to take your ideas to the dev team!
Thanks.
Scarlet’s Spaulders and Scarlet’s Gloves were briefly available during an aborted “event” late last year. I have some tokens towards them saved up, but never got enough to purchase.
Ask and you shall receive…. today.
I’ve got a lot of the same items that I am holding as souvenirs (also made an extra Dhuum-touched Phial, and who wouldn’t want some Frothy Troll Saliva to share in chat?). None of these items are ultimately needed once their collection is finished, and they can be safely destroyed.

When I ran it, I also failed to get it at the end. I also failed to get it at the start of the race afterwards. I figured the positioning might be touchy, so I ran it again and did the reset to get back to the precise start point.
I thought that was the solution, but I like your theory better. A timing bug would make sense for both of us.

I had failed twice to get the quaggan (it was a bad day to even be trying), and I ended up getting into a different instance than the other people waiting with me. The quaggan appeared for us both during the Claw fight; I know that’s still potentially a coincidence but it does lead some credence to the event being scheduled.

You’re right though, it doesn’t follow the pattern of the other items, or even make any friggin’ sense.

You, know, a certain clueful wiki editor who has been carefully recording methodologies for getting all of HOPE’s items may have left some information on the appropriate page….
I think your problem is that the proper usage of skill 2 isn’t really spelled out.
When you first press 2, your mushroom does a short hop forward onto its head. It then struggles to get back up. Before this happens, you need to target your cursor onto another distant spot and spam 2 to get the mushroom to make the jump you really want.
Further tips:
- You will absolutely need speed mushrooms from the itzel mastery line. These will remove the speed penalty you get crossing the river halfway through.
- Use skill 1 as often as possible. Occasionally, you can time it to cross small gaps/hills.
- Right after passing the second-to-last gate, you can use skill 2 to jump over a chasm right to the end. This will also be necessary to get silver.
But I agree with you, I thought the devs had mentioned doing away with collection items that required previous events to fail. Apparently they haven’t gotten to this one yet.
I think this one didn’t get reported with the other ones that did get fixed. OTOH, it has been reported since, so Matt’s not off the hook.
What worked for me and several other players was to check in during the Claw of Jormag fight. He seems to spawn close to the same time, and the Claw will draw everyone else’s attention to the other side of the map.
in a lot of cases, money laundering for RMT
I understand why dyeing weapons wont work, but what about another option? I was just recently thinking about that, the skins for weapons exist already, shouldn’t it be possible to make, lets say recolored variants, and to access those you will have to do a quest to unlock them. Sure is also timeconsuming, but still less as making new models with dyechannels all over. Just a thought.
How many recolors are you planning to have on offer?
Hi,
I don’t remember the order I joined. I went to Chantry of Secrets but could not find Armor Requisitioner Betje . The lady there said I’m not the member of Order of Whispers. How to re-do the personal story line to be able to buy Whisper’s Secret Arnor ?
The Personal Story tab will give you short summaries of the episodes you played and should tell you which faction your character joined.
Changes have been set for April, so if you decide to stay away, check back in then around the 19th.
this is actually an artistic trick to emphasize musculature (q.v. The Incredible Hulk). Not sure if the ANet artists are using it intentionally.
The gathering daily has a decent shot of giving you some T6, regardless of level.
Vista’s nice for some instant karma.
So, what does it do?
Bifrost is kinda nifty as a melee staff.
I particularly like Final Rest and Ebon Vanguard staves for melee. A lot of people seem to like Legionnaire.
Remove AP cap and retire the leaderboards. That would be the best way to handle it.
This, I really don’t see why there’s a “leaderboard” for PVE anyway.
I don’t see a point for one for fractals, but we have people clamoring for it anyway.
Please never remove the daily AP limit. It is an important milestone for an account and serves as an upper threshold so that new players have something attainable with immense effort so that they can compete with other older veterans on the AP leaderboard.
See, you just proved one of my points, you can NEVER compete, because they have APs from events long retired that you can never get.
Which goes to show the pointlessness of the leaderboards.
- Vet w/high AP.
I’ve seen this before on reddit, so someone has found it at some point.

i did the quaggan for hope 3 days ago and was on the same map as a champ farm by coincedence and the quaggan was already there.
I did this one for 2-3 hours, on a day where FGS events were a daily. Had it fail twice, once with a whole lot of other HOPEfuls looking on. The Claw eventually came along and distracted the player-base, and the quaggan was finally turned into a popsicle.
Why is Arena net:
1) Tying fail states of events as requirements for legendary progression?
They aren’t. They’re tying legendaries to events and items with particular themes. Some of them are rare. Many of them are in event chains, whose execution tend to be more erratic in real action compared to in testing. This was probably not considered at creation time.
