This is weird, because the API DID list the secondary recipe ids. They had their own field which is no longer showing up.
I guess I should be glad I’ll never have to deal with this. I’m lucky to maintain connected for 10-20 minutes while I’m actively playing.
He means Basic rarity gear (whites)
Twoloop Friendship Bracelet (id 70520) has control characters in its name, displaying as Twoloop?áFriendship Bracelet to the API and as normal in the game. This is generally bad practice, but not only that, makes it impossible to type the name in to delete it.
This was reported in the past, as the other friendship bracelets all had the same problem.
This might make it easier for me to get those skins without creating a billion alts. Thanks

Not sure where to start this topic, but since I found this among the new API items, why not here?
It looks like we’ve got a source of exotic 80 gear with starter skins and HoT runes. For example, this
Is this from the level 80 boost we were given with the free account-wide inventory slot?
This was a major headache as several times the fix failed for some reason or other, so I thought I would outline the steps I took to get it working (Windows version).
1. Copy the site certificate -
1.a. Open https://api.guildwars2.com in Chrome.
1.b. Click the green lock next to the address bar. This brings up the security report.
1.c. Next to “Your connection to this site is private.”, click “Details”
1.d. Click the [View certificate] button.
1.e. On the Certificate window, click the “Details” tab.
1.f. Click the [Copy to File…] button.
1.g. Advance through the export wizard. Select Base-64 encoded X.509 (.cer). Select a save directory and name.
2. Launch cmd.exe in administrator mode.
3. Navigate to your Java directory. Enter the /bin subdirectory.
4. Enter the following on one line:
keytool -import -noprompt -trustcacerts -alias wwwGuildWars2 -file “C:/Path_To_Your_Certificate/certificateName.cer” -keystore “C:/Path_To_Java_Directory/lib/security/cacerts” -storepass changeit
4.1. Insert paths to your files as needed. The default password for the keystore is changeit. If you’ve ever actually set it in the past, use whatever that was.
5. If there is some confusion which keystore is being pulled from (e.g. you have multiple java installations), repeat step 4 for each of them.
Now I get to figure out why eclipse is pulling from a different Java’s keystore…

Cherry trees give soft wood. Cherry wood is hard wood.
Pine trees give hard wood. Pine wood is soft wood.
Gold ore and ingots aren’t even worth a silver. Platinum is more valuable than gold, but you still can’t a gold piece for it without selling a mountain of the stuff.
(edited by Sariel V.7024)
We have to go to a Trading post npc to pick up items or gold, but we can sell items without one… how does that work? How do items disappear from your inventory without the npc?
That’s an easy one. Pay attention and you can actually see the mail carrier dove lifting off when you sell something.
And why can’t this dove fly the bought items and gold to the player?
It doesn’t solve the contradiction.
Because it’s a Tyrian dove, not an Elonian one. something something airspeed unladen

GMTA. I suggested something similar on reddit about a month ago, as a way of explaining the Nightmare Court presence in HoT. Some players might be upset about having to pay for access, so I suggested including a BL key as one of the rewards.
Only problem with that is replayability. If the rewards are once per character one could get many keys. If they decide once per account, then that’s totally feasible IMO.
They’ve done it once before in LS 2. Keeping it as a Level 80-only story will keep players from casually farming it. At any rate, it’s just a suggestion
63366 I think was a superior rune that got bugged. Wasn’t that the Revenant Rune?
What’s the weapon you’ve seen the least in game?
Seen least? The Pirate weapons. I’ve seen one.
Among my lesser-seen favorites, I use:
Chieroptophobia
Wayward Wand
Super Warhorn (maybe not so rare any more)
Grinning Gourd Rifle
Azure Railgun
Mystic Pistol
Ebon Vanguard Staff (great option for melee)
Gave them a wonderful fruit basket
I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

Somehow, I think Zakkit would find books were great with a side of steak…
Despite being a true grunt of the Blood Legion, she decided to test your theory.
However, it has been noted that future testing should be left to the asura… Or anyone else really.
Just came back here today. You’ve made my day
I’ve said this before, and it bears repeating: you do not need to use lightning pull to finish the race.
In GW2 mechanics, fire damage and burning are separate entities, just like they were in GW1. In the HoT story, there is a segment there you need to eliminate enemies that are stated to be only damaged by burning. However, if you have a fire damage attack, you will see that it also is effective here. e.g. Guardian Torch 5, which does not inflict burning.
Whether this actually makes a difference against Mordremoth himself is untested and probably unlikely. However, choking damage may prove interesting, given its connection to necromancer skills and the metric ton of choking damage weapons in HoT.
Chauncy. Cat’s got style.
I checked my bank and I was wrong. I’ve got 9 ingots, and I was thinking of slivers. About half the saves you have, though.
Assuming you are doing the AB meta, I don’t see how you are not swimming in ingots. They are common enough from bigger chests.
HOPE I
Apparently the recipes you learn during this collection are auto-learned instead of given to you as scrolls you can use on the appropriate character. I have Huntsman maxed out, but on a different character to the one I have one of the recipes on – and considering the price of wood and leather I really don’t want to have to level it to 400 again.
Try rerunning the minidungeon on the correct character. It’s not that hard.
HOPE III: killing golden ooze did not give me the golden oxide compound
Was it Champion Auran?
HOPE III: Synergetic Generator
Proximity Test: Megadestroyer Take the Synergetic Reactor to Mount Maelstrom and test the energy reactions near the chest after defeating the Megadestroyer.
^Killed MD. Clicked ontop of chest and everywhere near it. Would not collect my collection. I do have auto-loot if that is worth mentioning. Progress blocking, cannot collect.
UPDATE: I switched to the character I had created the Synergetic Reactor on AND I turned off Autoloot: Quick Interact in Options. I’m not sure which caused it to work this time but that fixed it.
It might be that you need to get kill credit on MD for this to work. This is not the same as event credit. Essentially you’d need to be among the first 50 PC groups to do a certain amount of damage to MD. There was a similar problem with KQ and the Dwarven Spell Trap.
They are apparently back today, and on sale.
Here’s hoping y’all see this.
His name wouldn’t happen to be Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, would it?
Hypothesis confirmed correct. Only one person has ever gotten the PvP Destroyer Scythe, and it’s a GM.
Hype train derailed :>
Curious if this also applies to the “Canach’s Backpack” item in the wardrobe, because I haven’t yet run into any way of getting that one either. And it’s been in there for a very long time now lol
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Canach's_Backpack_%28skin%29
If you attempt to cross-reference the actual back item with the API, you’ll discover that there isn’t an ID number for it yet. We don’t know if it even exists. Someone made the page assuming it would follow the pattern of other similar items.
Super weapons should be about the same shade of blue

Hype train derailed :>
To say the least. Thanks anyway
Thanks man I’m sure the particulars are probably boring, but a lot of interest surrounds this item and with the recent changes to the forge, its appearance attracted notice pretty quick.
Is it possible that someone DID get the destroyer scythe, but because the character api endpoint was disabled, it wasnt exposed to the item api endpoint?
“Assuming there’s a bug I couldn’t foresee” opens a lot of territory, you know
Just to muddy the waters, the DS (PvP version) did make its API debut some time last night.
(edited by Sariel V.7024)
Did that include the Destroyer Scythe? Seems it popped up for some reason.
Not yet. I’d like to think we’d get more than a couple of the old Halloween skins, cool as they are.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Didn’t need to be inside information, just data mined from the previous SAB patch. That was when the last sell off started with supply growing from around 100.
that_shaman would be the expert, but I seriously doubt this was “data-mined”. Look at its index. This item has been part of the game since the first Halloween, even if no one actually held one. It would not have magically popped up as new to give it significance. On top of that, the forge’s workings are kept server-side, so we don’t get to see changes there until someone actually produces something from it and tells us about it.
Why was this not announced????!! I want my hard earned gold back…
Apparent drop rates would confirm your money was better spent.
Looks like the destroyer scythe is part of the new drop table.

Don’t see any listed on the TP according to gw2tp though.

he is lieing. it would be in the API now if he would have found oneAh. Thanks for pointing that out.
Aren’t api tools disabled because of a bug?
Only the character API is disabled. Items is still working.
I’m inclined to believe the Destroyer Scythe did not get generated, but the regular Scythe might have. Its entry is here:
A question for the community/devs: If a dev is giving this info out to their friends online, is that breaking any rules? I know who is dumping the shields and he made a ton of money doing this, not to mention the money saved by dodging the potential crash from the MF loot table changes.
Pretty sure the NDA covers things like this.
I like how everyone was SURE this was some big scary dupe as their first mental option rather than “maybe the last patch added something?”
Like, if it’s not on a wiki or a reddit post, it MUST be cheating right?
Does anyone else remember what MMOs were like before wiki culture?
Here’s the problem in your thinking:
The item produced by the forge is a weapon. It only showed up last week.
The item they are worrying about being duped is a skin consumable.
A bunch of old unobtainable skins got added to the forge last week. We can pray.
I’m a PvE player only, and this is my first legendary (I picked it at random…). I found I needed to craft this by scrapping ascended weapons/armor, since trinkets barely drop them and rings dont at all. Now I’m still running around in exotic gear exclusively, and my fractal level is a sad 14, so is my best bet really ‘drop crafting a weapon and start crafting ascended armor’? And if so, what’s the cheapest/best way to craft it? I have no clue where to even start here.
Believe it or not, you CAN get an ascended weapon drop at lvl 14. It’s pretty rare at all levels though.
Looks like the green weapon from the forge was an upcoming bonus that wormed itself into the live code. It’s legit.
He did. We’ll have to wait on his report, if we get one.
In the meantime, a little info: for every skin consumable that is produced for the Black Lion store or other reward, (at least) two other corresponding items are made – an equippable item, usually level 0; and a PvP version, like we used to have before the Wardrobe. The PvP variant will pop up in the API if someone takes a weapon with that skin into the arena, but the equippable item usually lurks hidden, forever unseen. Unless something weird happens.
For example I have a full set of level 0 rare Primeval Armor. The stats kinda suck but it’s still good for starter characters.
I can’t say what the purpose of these items are, but they probably exist to handle some kind of error or exception handling. Something to prevent a crash in the event of future unexpected programming.
(edited by Sariel V.7024)
Did hope come with a special item? I don’t remember getting one with mine..
It did not. There were some interesting bundles from Collection I, but they were of severely limited use and you lose them after testing them.
Anyone do any math on the new recipe?
Hear hear /15 bewildered charrs
I diverted effort from HOPE once it hit the final grinding stage because I wanted to see some actual progress. I made Bifrost. I’ve never used it.
Further grinding has since been put off in favor of SAB, finishing up fractals 30-50, and attempting to move up a division in PvP for this part of the season.
