Consensus is that it’s the animation – the falling through the air at the front of your screen part.
Several people (myself included) are getting headaches from the revenant roads when they are being dropped over and over in WvW… Anyone else experiencing this?
Seems like guild chat is still bugged out for folks who recently transferred servers and have joined a new guild.
The go invisible/visible workaround doesn’t work.
They are clearly repping the guild.
But when they try to use guild chat, they are getting the “you don’t belong to a guild” message.
We’ve tried all the usual fixes for it… anyone found a workaround for this one yet?
Same here. /15 chars
Just as bad in EBG (YB) tonight.
Finally loading…
Same issue, same region…
Did it on my guard on the 2nd try – and it usually takes me ages to figure out how to handle content like this. Staff 1 spam with my back to the wall during the phases with the adds (it knocks the adds back, and staff 2 will make it most of the way across the area and take out more of them), and kiting like my life depended on it (’cause it does) during the other phases with scepter/focus. Stability and aegis help a lot here.
If you are having trouble with the adds, there is a section of the wall to the left of the vine block that looks like a mini-corner. You can back up in there fairly safely when the adds spawn.
I’d start with a couple of small changes.
- Identify siege by owner.
- Add a specific report for griefing to the in-game report options. You may not be able to report the person directly if you don’t see them, but reporting griefing with a screen shot of the troll siege would make for easier report investigation.
- let deployed superior siege override paper siege if the siege cap is hit
- act on griefing reports
- if someone is found to be siege trolling by a GM, give them a debuff similar to dishonored, where they either can’t enter wvw for <insert appropriate time frame here>, or at least can’t place siege, use supply, claim, or upgrade anything for the buff duration.
Then wait and see if this reduces the siege trolling dramatically or not.
There are a whole lot of good suggestions in this thread, but some of them have some serious drawbacks that impact legitimate play. Why overcomplicate it early on?
You have servers out there who have invested a lot of time and energy to build tight-knit wvw communities. So how do you keep those server communities intact if they are negatively impacted by population caps or just getting rid of their server identities? A solution that would work should also consider existing communities and give them an opportunity to stay together.
Please, not something like we currently have in EotM.
+1 on hating the fail trains. At least the farmers I ran into were nice about it – but I shouldn’t have to go shopping for another instance (on a megaserver – yeah, that’s not exactly the easiest thing to do) in order to complete the story.
Almost managed to solo it in the nice empty instance I ended up in – but not quite. I’ll have to go do it another time.
For some of us, this camera behavior is seriously nausea inducing. I’m already out of play – why should I have to get physically ill as a result?
Yes, sometimes waypointing is an option – but as has already been mentioned in the thread, sometimes it’s either not an option, or not a good idea at the time.
Significant skill lag. Rubberbanding. Actual screen freezes when trying to attack. Unable to stop or res (this one seems to be game wide, not just wvw). Even in places where it’s a very small group (3v3 even).
No, it’s not my computer or my internet connection.
Really bad skill lag and screen freezes since the patch. /sigh
If you’d give us back “match my lowest sell price” and “sell max”, it would go a long way…
Only a WvW player thinks there should be a “stuck in siege after building” achievement.
…and same bug.
Same issue.
Seed was in the bank vault.
Made the first back piece yesterday, before the patch.
Logged in today, and it was already a pet seed.
My mesmer wants to learn Kasmeer’s version of portal…
I’ve been dealing with this for quite awhile. Set up and pay for a purchase through paypal. Have it error during the process.
I’ve learned that if you try to repeat the process, eventually the gem purchases go through. If you’ve tried again, you end up with multiple purchases that you didn’t intend.
It’s frustrating and annoying and makes you really distrust the purchase process.
Sometimes, it takes far longer than 20 minutes to fulfil, but getting an error immediately makes you think that you should just redo the purchase.
I’m wondering if it has anything to do with folks who didn’t complete the season 1 meta, but did complete the season 2 meta?
Blackgate here. Meta completed early in the season – on BG since pre-release. No chest yet.
I’ve had this bug since the patch. And I was as annoyed as everyone else was when the fix came in 20 minutes after reset.
I wish Anet would provide those of us who were bugged with some kind of compensation – at least for the laurels. But I’m not expecting it. Sadly, the reality is that it will blow over in a few weeks.
Same issue here.
I’m on Blackgate. Been there since the early access days for preorder.
I play almost every day.
And I finally saw Blackgate main in Lion’s Arch for the first time since the destruction of LA – one day ago, in the middle of the night when I was on because I couldn’t sleep.
Map chat was busy – and it sounded like well over half of main was full of folks guesting. We actually started talking about how many folks there were guesting to BG or a couple of the other tier 1 servers.
I honestly like the guesting system – until it means that players can’t ever get into their home server’s instance.
I’d really, really like to see some kind of better system to allow members of a home server into their own home server instances for major events like this.
During Marionette, I saw my home server maybe once.
During LA Escape, I never saw it.
During the current event, I saw it once.
Please, Anet, figure out a way to let us see our home servers once in awhile?
Someone hinted at this earlier, but there’s one other component here. The fastest way to get folks to turn off map chat is to have a couple of folks in it spewing nasty comments and insulting people. If you want new folks to pay attention to map chat, it needs to be a friendly place, not an ugly one.
TL;DR No active GW2 player with whom I interact in-game has ever complained about LW pacing being too fast.
Almost every active GW2 player with whom I interact in-game HAS complained about LW pacing being too fast. YMMV.
It isn’t but it is catered towards the WvW players since its in a familiar territory for them and just unlike the other 99% achievements in the open world.
It caters to the WvW players, all right, but not the way you say. It’s there to give WvW players free targets.
And here i thought that Anet actually learned something after aetherblade obsidian cache…
Yeah. That we’re stupid enough to try it, even though we hate the idea.
I decided to give it one last try. The last time I tried to get through Obsidian Sanctum, I couldn’t even make it to the dark room. Not because I can’t jump – but because I don’t enjoy jumping while PvPing.
Decided to try it again. Of course, this was my first time making it to the dark room – thanks to some help from a guild that was working it’s way through (thank you, [Miz]!).
Almost to the end of the dark room (remember, my first time this far through), after an hour of being nice to all the opposing server folks jumping through, and a team from that server decides to take me out.
Glad you got your free kills on the poor PVE’er who only plays WvW sometimes, guys.
Hope it was worth it in the long run.
‘Cause all this type of thing is doing is convincing me that nope, I don’t want to do PvE content in PvP, and the more ANet tries to make me do so, the less I want to play the game.
Too bad. I loved GW1, and I want to love GW2. But I’m not in love with story in the middle of difficult dungeons that go away before I have time to get my guild together to learn them, and I’m really not in love with forced PvP if I want to complete a PvE achievement.
Yup – trying to load into Queensdale fails, but the Grove works.
Edit: Third time’s a charm. Working now.
Same here. Was at 4/5, then finished 2 at the same time to jump to 6/5. No chest.
How do you not get kill credit soloing?
Same question I have.
Another weird note – the new chests that are supposed to contain good items? Had one drop from a vet in Straits of Devastation tonight. Made the mistake of getting excited. Then I opened it.
Porous bones.
For a game designed with the intent that players should want to group together and help each other, in PvE it would be nice to see some loot equivalent for players who take the time to rez downed players (and thereby give up their chance at loot drop from the enemy NPC).
I’d also love to see some way to reward characters who focus more on support roles – that can make the difference on a team in harder areas.
