The one time I chatted with Roy Cronacher in-game (revenant’s designer), he said they would probably reveal 2-3 specs each week, and only after that would they show everything else about the revenant. But it was clear to me that no definitive plans were set in stone yet.

I believe someone said each spec will take a week.

Anet did, during HoT’s announcement. Several weeks later, Roy replied to my question in-game, saying that they were aiming for 2-3 per week (if my memory isn’t wrong, it could have been 1-2 instead).

Hope so as specializations doesnt bring all that much to waste a week per one specialization when in reality there not much going for them from my pov. 1 new weapon, 6 new skills (heal, 4 utility, elite) and new traitline with slighty modified class mechanic doesnt cut the problem base classes suffer from.

It was confirmed that expansion will not get any dx 10,11,12 update so no need to buy a new video card. Source: video from press even at Anet office . Of course things are always subject to change.

If anet added dx12 gw2 benefit 10 fold from the upgrade in many aspects the dx 12 has to offer. IMHO by not taking advantage of the newer tech is holding them back with what they can can do with the game as well performance since gw2 still has performance issues to date.

Windows 10 will get pirated like 8 anyway, nothing to worry about at this point

Actually i believe that staff skills are;

2 – 600 range gap closer, possibly teleport as it has 1/2 casttime.
3 – a block due to the 2sec duration and melee range
4 – looks like a field but it has no range which leads me to think its some sort of a aura around revenant like mallyx elite.
5 – hard to say. I think its a similiar skill to guardian gs 2 as both have number of impacts and 600 range but this one knockback instead.

So nope, not really a ranged weapon.

Aha and last hit on staff aa is a whirl finisher we already saw in wvw trailer.

Actually i would like to get a option with straight posture and running animation on 2 legs – not that running on all 4 feets is bad, but its sooooo slow…it simply doesnt look right if we dont have swiftness on. Either speed up their running animation or give us a option to run on 2 legs like npcs.

Ps. i would like to bite my enemies with spiked tail. Make it happen plz ;o

Look dude/dudette, this game looks FFing amazing as is; if you want to tweak the appearance then down load GemFX which puts the load on the Video Card (if you want the game to look like a Wooden potatoes video.).

This must be a troll post that doesnt udnerstand what discussion is all about. Unless youre trying to imply that GemFX will fix my fps issues due to poor dx9?

Jeremy Soule’s music not memorable? This HAS to be a troll thread.

Memorable? Compared to lets say Two Steps From Hell, John Powell or game OST from Divinity series? Not even a bit. The music used in this game is really boring without any emotions at all. Thats said the new guy working on music doing a good job actually unlike Jeremy and his potato generic “music”. Im glad hes gone. I guess the olny good one actually from his list is “The Seraph” but thats about it.

Make turrets able to be burned.. that’s actually genius. Cause logically a machine can’t bleed and doesn’t have eyes but machines can burn.

Just that I don’t think the system will allow it to a non-organic target though. Sad days.

Going by logic revenant should be immune to blind (in b4 GM trait) and see invisible players (in b4 GM trait again) as he dont rely on sight. Turrets should be threated just like any other Al in this game. That alone would solve a lot of problems with them if we could crit them and apply conditions

I dont have problem with waiting for xpac (except for revenant as i want to dust my main for good) but the lack of info is disturbing. The last good news we actually had was revenant blog which happened few weeks ago, since that basically not much info were given. We got to see revenant but we still have no clue what Glint/Ventari (we can guess what Shiro will bring at least) or what power/vit trait lines are all about and while weapons been datamined as well many of them are probably outdated concept like sword as i dont see it as hybrid weapon. At this point we have to w8 for another revenant preview week maybe up to 2 to see rest of his stuff

We also had preview of new WvW map which looks really cool and such but i dont see a reason for it to take up 2 weeks. We got a glimpse of legendary crafting but without showing off legendary weeapons itself as they come ..later in another blog and probably as HoT will launch there will be olny few legendaries to choose from and rest will come later with future updates.. It doesnt sound good. Also just like with revenant we didnt got a complete info.

Then we have some guild halls/challenge group contest which both probably will take 2 weeks each for no reason just like WvW. We also dont know how many maps will come so i guess thats another 3 weeks just for them to showoff and talking about them. And naturally we have specializations (9 weeks) everyone waiting for but instead we getting a blog about story – like wtf? I mean they could at least release druid specialization this week and next one necromancer, so we can at least guess what is coming to other classes while they can continue releasing blogs about other stuff but instead we getting a blog about story that have happened and we dont care about anymore.. Im kinda curious what first will come tho – full reveal of revenant or specializations.

I honestly don’t even understand the point of an underwater legendary, it seems like such a waste of time and effort for a weapon you barely ever get to show off and be proud of. I hope underwater combat dies once and for all, it’s just awful being underpowered and ill-equipped to deal with what seems like denser mobs of more dangerous critters than on land.

If you making legendary for showoff youre doing it wrong. While it seems to be pointless to make one now we dont know what future will bring and some people like me actually enjoys underwater we just dont have any reason to go there in current state.

I rebember how much i hated underwater at launch lol but later i started to like it and i got used to fight there to the point where i can melee stuff 24/7 without any problems nowdays.

Also underwater has some nice dark and secret places unlike stuff on land. They really wasted somes erious potential here for exploration caves etc. Sure class balance is terrible but as long we dont have to pvp there i dont see a reason to not add more underwater areas in pve at least.

The main problem lies with traits and utility. A good fix to it would be to make separated underwater trait tab along with utilities designed for underwater olny. We already have separated weapons and breather for underwater so i dont see a issue why they wouldnt add seperate utilities and traits as well at this point.

Thank the six gods for no Underwater Combat. I think anet is stepping away from it. If you look at all the current black lion weapons, none of them have underwater weapons.

And im curious if they planning to make underwater legendaries at this point.

From some time i keep reading stuff about engi turrets and their counter – avoid them. Like noone understand thats something is wrong with this build when your counter is to avoid this point as most likely you have no chance against it/takes too much time.

In general i found passive al builds to be stronger and mroe rewarding than active ones and its just wrong on so many levels that that its not even funny anymore. Engi in general needs to be toned down a bit as hes too strong in current state. Thats said i can get them down depending on the point they camping with pewpew ranger but it takes a while – basically waste of time.

When i go to pvp i want to fight players not pve cancer stuff

The only reason why this sigil is expensive is cause you can’t loot it or craft it.
It’s not like this is the most overpowered sigil ingame + its broken.
When I have 25stacks of bleeding, and I want to apply it to you with this sigil, I will only give 5 stacks of bleeding or less with less duration. The funny thing is, you wont even notice that I gave back the bleeding. Cause its weak.

You sure? I used over a year ago for a while when it was cheap and i believe that i have transfered 12 stacks of bleed back to necro which been ticking for about 130/s each bleed. My build was power not condi btw

We wont even have all new legendaries when HoT launch. I call it ls3+feature pack. I guess at beginning we will get 2 new maps max and rest will come with future updates.

Also they really going to spend the whole week just for 1 specialization which i will read up in 20min in the blog? I mean k, new traits which will probably replace current profession traitline, 1 new wep, 1 heal, 4 utility, 1 elite and slighty modified f1-4 (some will get f5) and thats about it..

We also saw warrior specialization in a poi that has f2 key greyed out which leads me to think that warrior will be able to use f2 olny with new offhand weapon – pathetic.

Hype train is dead, wake up guys. You dindt even showed 4th utility skills of Jalis and Mallyx.

Mainly Norn and Human .. and some Asura.

Yeah i thought so.. I doubt that anyone who complains about lack of mix n match playing charr and imo thats the olny way for us to get something “decent”. If they wasnt making profits from outfits i doubt they would continue releasing them so majority must like them for what they are.

Also i personally prefer to see outfits in gemstore and earn actual armor pieces in game. Thats how it should be done in my opinion, right now they working on expansion so its obvious that they focus on outfits now as they are easier to make. Im sure new skins coming with HoT but people have no patience really.

I play every race and every class and I hate outfits. This is lazy design because they dont have to care about pieces.

No..i already knew the answer cause if you go over “post olny if you armor is mix n match” thread theres load of human/norn, a bit of sylvari, some asura and few charrs. Who looks silly now at this point?

And while it might looks lazy i completely understand them – they could allow us to wear outfits in pieces but people like you will start spamming forum about fixing their clipping/visual glitchs issues asap cus they “payed” (gold>gem) for it.

As for carapace set its not hard to get it now thanks to vine. Unless youre super casual you can get 1 piece/day without any problem. Also harder to obtain x skin = more prestige. We all know what happened when they eleased black wing and everyone and their mom been running with one.

From spvp point teleports had huge buff that needs to be nerfed as teleport classes have it way too easy right now there. Ledges are not save anymore for ranged classes as any noob can teleport up there over and over and screw you over. Its needs to be fixed.

teleport classes waste entire skill(s) to give them that mobility. what other reason than to get out of pickles?
unrelated to OP, but along these lines: I love when I’m downed, use deception, and it teleports me to a floor below or above

Never runned into a s/d thief? I have blast teleporting over and over harassing ppl with such noob tactic and taking them down slowly without real effort while they trying to hit me. Thats some truly nice bs there. Your logic is flawed as well. Leap classes waste entire skill to give them a mobility which is inferior in every way to teleport as not olny a leap takes time to get us to destinated place/target as they are not insta but also we cant hop up/down like teleport classes which gains huge terrain advantage like i mentioned above.

Because playing as a DPS takes actual skill. Not like Power Necro, Ranger or Guardian with their infinite evades and instant cast offense and defense.

Also so good at baiting dodges and stun breaks in PvP. Literally everything you do people are inclined to dodge or burn a defensive cool down if you DO make in range.

Rebember guys, kitten necros evade like no tomorrow. Nerf that op junk.

@Ravenmoon I don’t have the problem, maybe you have fps issues and that’s why you have such a bad experience, but that doesn’t mean the game runs really crappy.
Also, I was talking performance at same speeds. Your 2500k at 4.5GHz is like a 4690k at 3.8GHz.
And about the rest, that shows how little you know about improving fps. Yes, pcie speed increases fps (tested). Yes, ram speed increases fps (tested). Yes, some graphic options have massive cpu load with minimum graphic increase.

If I have time this Easter I’ll do some tests in my desktop about all this kind of things.

I have i5 4690k overclocked to 4,6ghz and i experience fps drops for no reason and overall performance is bad. All maxed except shadows on medium, culling on lowest i still have troubles keeping this joke at 60 fps. So if you dont have any problems you must be running on minimal..

Revenant - Stealth

Light armor class with Stealth = Mesmer
Medium armor class with Stealth = Thief/Engineer
Heavy armor class with Stealth = ?

I imagine if it’s on the table for Revenant that it needs to be tied to a Stance mechanic (Elite) and cost energy which would “balance” it against damage output or defensive activations.

Ranger also has access to stealth. Elite for Shiro is already reserved – Jade Wind. Glint or Ventari? I doubt it. Stance wont work well either as you would be able to do nothing but stealth spam. But something like 40 energy cost for 4sec stealth?

but devs won’t do that, not only cause the time and effort to do it (we are talking about years and millions and millions), but also cause all the small improvements they’ve done since the game was launched would be thrown to rubish.

Care to explain why moders upgraded many old games like Morrowind and Gothic to dx11 and it dindt cost them milions? In fact they did that for free as thats their hobby..

Sure it is time consuming but today standart gaming is 60fps, not 20. They already had to create new textures at wyvern fight otherwise it would be laggy as f. Look how much extra effort they have to put in to keep this game somewhat playable. Dx12 would not olny make live easier to us, but also for them.

My opinion only – If this is Arena net reason to not have trinity system for Guild Wars 2: than us player who want challenge and fun need to leave game: that include player who want good change for wvw and pvp.

Then you know what to do as trinity wont happen and im happy bc of that. Time to move on man and find another game you will enjoy instead of complaning about everything to suit your playstyle maybe Lotro?

Play whatever you want. Thing with revenant is that he can switch between 2 playstyles in combat and has no cd on utilities which means adapting to x situation at will as long you control your energy properly.

Jalis = Guard, direct dmg tank
Mallyx = Necro, condi dmg tank
Shiro = Thief, burst
Glint and Ventari no idea.

Im a really salty person to …

You trying to apply real life medieval logic to a fantasy game where people throw granades, uses bombs, teleports, stealths, create clones, shoots unicorns from bow and so on (too many stuff to write really) and later on youre surprised why noone respect nor care about your opinion. This is fantasy setting, noone care what you can or cant in real life. I wont bother explaining why warrior needs mobility as you ignore any arguments throwed at you from what ive seen in other threads.

I have seen his bs in ranger, guardian section as well. In guardian thread he called 65% dmg reduction with no compensation “small adjustment” LOL rip brain

But yeah choose your favorite class/playstyle and then just have fun and get good. If the class happens to be legitimately underpowered, just wait awhile.

Been waiting for physical utilities, gs+rifle combo nearly 3 years already. How long i have w8 to finally see them being viable? Another 3 years?

Shoutbow is good in teambased game sure but not everyone enjoys playing noob bot role. Thats the reason why ppl complains. Our mechanic is called burst within a reason yet the olny thing we doing is shouting and blowing your horn like no tomorrow – inst that silly? Where is the warrior feeling in that?

So I’d like know what the Specs will REMOVE from the base class first and foremost and then they can tell us what those specs are going to be like…

Spec is supposed to change a bit our class mechanic which means new traitline to support “new mechanic”

I wont be surprised if ranger, mes and engi get f5 but generally i dont see anything special in that so called specializations. 1 new heal, 4 new utility, 1 new elite, 1 new weapon (2-5 skills) modified class mechanic (yet ranger still has a pet..) and new traits -thats about it.

Whats about current junk traits/abilities? Thats right, they will still remain as total junk.

I want to run this game at 60 fps with maxed setting out at wvw/zerg events and at this point i dont care if its dx9 or dx12. Its obvious they cant provide better fps on dx9 so they have to upgrade their engine at this point simple as that. Do you guys really think they going to survive in the future market with their current slideshow on high end pc? I dont. All new upcoming mmos coming with dx11 and im sure many of them will upgrade to dx 12 once its get released. Why anyone should bother with outdated dx9 that has trouble keeping 30 fps at this point?

The most funny thing is we dont even have 64bit client version…in 2015..

ArenaNet defines OP as “out of 250,000 encounters, profession N is over performing by 12%”…

The people who make the decisions to actually change a profession live in an entirely different frame of reference than the people posting here.

You overestimate Anet. Anet had been doing alot of nerf that’s completely uncalled for. It ended up breaking some classes, that they later on (after 1 freaking year?) revert back, or change something else to compensate.

Anyway, some of Revenant’s skills just completely outperform every single classes, it’s doesn’t take an expert to figure out that Mallyx 8 and 9 is broken.

Ask yourself why they nerfed a lot of things. Thats right, by people like you that keep QQ instead of adapting. You dont even had a chance to actually play it in pvp against competent people yet you want to see it nerfed already so you can enjoy your freekills at launch. Many warrior builds was destroyed due to ppl complaining that they cant freekill warrior anymore they used to forcing us to a bot roles – banner for pve, shouts for pvp. Anything outside that is not viable thx to qq. Yet the total cheese builds still running around and everyone seems to be fine with that cause they doesnt work in conquest gamemode – nice logic there guys, keep it up.

And what youre trying to say by that link? By source im asking for a vid. But i understand that some ppl here doesnt even have binded a dodge buttom so you take everything on a chest like a “pro”. And nope, fight starts at 50% energy, you also need 10sec for that 50 energy to regenerate doing nothing but autoatk to spam that move. If you ask me i would consider such revenant a freekill. Same as heartseeker thieves spamming 2 for the win. But its okay guys feel free to prove how bad you are at this game so i can have a good laugh

Devs said themself that they are happy with Jalis and Mallyx in current state to the point where they was ready to show them which mean all current abilities we have seen passed their balance testing. At this point i doubt they change anything in them. And i still dont see anything op in revenant as it stands now – if anything i see him to be quite hard to play actually. Its really funny to call for a nerf based on dumbed down pve. You wasnt there to test revenant, leave it to people that know what they doing unlike you guys that screams for a nerf. Ty

A revenant can stack 25 stacks of confusion in 2.5 seconds while also stripping away 10 boons, please tell me how is this not OP.

I want to main a revenant but it’s pretty clear that the balance team never tested it in PvP. It has really cool ideas, but it’s also extremely Op right now.

I’m encountering a hell lot of “Hambow” warrior these days with my not-so-zerker Ranger.
Put up all stunbreakers possible, yet there is no chance at all to win a proper 1v1.
TBH, what else can be done with this issue other than NERF IT! ?
I wish I could upload a video as proof about good timing dodges, evades and bursts but my GPU burning already

Pewpew ranger is quite decent against any warrior build as long you dont fight on a point. When i see warrior i know my skritt is ready to loot eternity from the corpse.

Revenant seems so slow, slower than a guardian.

until we see what the full Revenant can do, Mobility now is his biggest weakness but hey conquest pvp has little use for mobility.

I agree. Hes the second slower class after necro in current state. They said in interview that their mobility match out of combat thief mobility and i hope they wont fail to deliver that. If they do howered, i can imagine every revenant and their mom running with hammer in pvp while melee sets being viable in pve olny.

Thing about revenant is that;

-You go Jalis to becoming tanky to cc and somewhat direct damage – Guardian style. Cons are that outside of healing on 30cd you have 0 condi removal, rite takes too long to pull off so you want to make sure noone cc you during that time – either you waste dodge or use reinforcement (65 energy total) for stability. Lacking mobility. I classify him as power+cc tank, group support legend

-You go Mallyx to control conditions, eating boons of target like no tomorrow and copy existing conditions into enemy – somewhat necro style. Howered sooner or later you run out of energy and conditions will eat you alive, same story when someone has good potential to strip boons. In mallyx you want conditions on yourself but not for too long. Its looks easy but thats really dangerous playstyle but rewarding when played properly. You have right there 0 abilities to negate cc and direct damage. I know you can use UA to have a bit of breathing room in case of melee bur range will nuke you down still. It can be used also as gap closer/opene howered it cost a bit of energy and selfcripple hurts as well once resistance run out. I would consider him as no mobility legend just like Jalis. I classify him as condition tank/boon stripper due to resistance boon.

-Another one is Shiro which is open up for speculations olny based on gw1 skills. From my translation he might have a bit of mobility in a slighty different form (shadowstep we seen in the vid) but generally hes burst oriented. Skill can be seens at gw1 page which leads to; moderate mobility if skill land (seen in trailer), life steal, 2x damage and condition transfer and from datamined elite – aoe insta stun. Outside of riposting shadows which puts you back to original localization i doubt we will see anything else mobility related. Possibly lacking stunbreak just like Mallyx.

Whatever you dont pick you lack in other area. You cant mix utilities like on existing professions so you have to make choice what role(s) you want to pick up based on legends+weapons and stick to them. Traits might help a bit like protection on cc which most likely will end up as must have as i have feeling he wont have any stunbreak/stability outside of Jalis and legend swap. Hes restricted like no other class right now in gw. Leaked weapon skills doesnt help him either – they have 0 mobility forcing us to pick something with high mobility if we want to run melee set in pvp.

And at this point for example we can go direct dmg tank/burst but we will lack mobility or we can go as direct damage tank/mobility but we lack burst or go burst/mobility but we will end up lacking on defensive side. The whole class is based on tradeoff so even if his abilities looks strong in one aspect he will be extremy weak in another one. Thats ofc olny my speculations which leads to hardcounter/hardcountered based on build

Id say..nerf power ranger. Too stronk 1v1. I mean come on.. he press 2 and im dead?!

Thing is no staff ele ever sits in earth and spam 1. Ele works differently, you go through attuenements so you get the finishers probably like 20% of time. Hammer revenant on the other hand will always have the finisher on his auto attack.

Thing is revenant doesnt have weapon swap nor 20 weapon skills like ele+another 4 utility which counts as 24 skills total. In comprasion revenant comes with 5 weapon skills and 8 utility for a total of 15.

The reason why we said it’s OP is because with just a 25% completion class with wrong stats and gear, we’re already able to feel the strength of the class already. When it becomes a full class with all the tools and right traits/ gears, how much stronger could it be?

People who criticize about Revenant’s low dps may find out a significant difference when they trait to full zerker, and people who can already stack condition like crazy will find it more deadly when combine with correct gears.

Where you did feel that strenght? In dumbed down pve so even beginner could complete it by smashing 1 olny with face on the keyboard? You all act like stability = immune to damage. And we already know hammer damage in zerk gear. You dont obviously

Charr neck should be armored (like cultural heavy sets) considering how large it is actually. Its not wise to run around without covered neck as someone might..cut it easily.

You wear helm for a reason and in current state nearly all of them doesnt offer the protection they should from aesthetic point of view thus they look inpractical and pointless – you cover your face but neck remain uncovered. That makes no sense. Were not human. Helm without covered neck doesnt offer protection for charr as they are not complete and the concept arts proves im right

I dont care about hairs as long our neck are covered, i could care less about ears too as they can be hided under helm. But horns? Thats our main feature just like tails and pawns.. Without them youre not charr
