As for the jumping off cliff and pinging back to the top: Necros can already do that, and its hilarious when used in EBG on someone. Make them chase and either they jump off too OR they run to edge, start to /laugh at you, then you ping behind them and fear them off cliff.

I don’t really hate underwater combat but the underwater weapon skills of thieves are really poor, so I usually avoid it.

That’s ironic. I was thinking that Thieves actually have the best UW weapons of the 8 professions.

While they have some good single target stuff underwater, its all very high risk. The most powerful class underwater are rangers, then engies, then mesmers, then i think Guardians and Warriors are about even, and then necros and thieves.

The most powerful is warrior followed by ranger if we count bugged downedstate.

And wasnt thief the one that could evade in underwater for days by pressing one button? Or they reworked this skill already?

Warrior possibly has the most brute damage underwater, but my guardian can usually nix them real easy. I’ve yet to shutdown a ranger underwater as they have the best damage and pressure, along with a pet that can help raise them from downed usually fast than people can kill them if they even get them down in the first place. Yes, thieves can evade a bunch, but they will melt hard to condi usually and a warriors pure damage output eats them up as well.

I never lost any 1v1 yet on my war underwater and usually i bursted down ranger fast enough before they even could call their bugged pet to rez. I fail to see how weak guardian could take a warrior underwater. Mes downstate is op as well due to confusions on auto. Also i have guard and i feel really weak in underwater with him, next to 0 damage while wearing full zerk set… The imbalance there is real

Well i decided to continue today with “increased drop chance”. So far 27h of farming tagging kitten load of events and no portal still. Instead i got my 100th coat box and 130+ shovels. Ty for a slap in the face AN, youre welcome. Been doing sw way before all this “event” and cant drop one while random ddues jsut ging in and drop it within 20mins. And yes for that reason i feel entitled to get a portal.

Still no portal for me. I’ve only done maybe 6 rounds of VW though.

How would you feel after farming for 18 hours of braindead pve without any result while some guy comes in and says he got it within 15min? Nuff said.

I will put it shorty as i dont plan to make 1466454563page discussion. Its a psychology thing, people had no control over email invites so they was somewhat fine about it, but in this case AN gives them a illusion of a chance to get into beta by farming the kitten out of these maps.

How do these people will feel that after a 7 days they be left with sand while some lucky people got their invite day one? They better be prepared for massive ragequits, thats all i have to say. And theres no doubt they did it this “event” as numbers of online players massively dropped due to lack of contest updates. Illusion of a chance is the worst thing they could come up with either way.

I like how it is, it ensures that those testing have 80’s can navigate and play high level maps and actually know what they’re doing and are active players. It rewards people that actually play the game, instead of sending off invites to accounts that are either dead or played at launch for like 3 days and quit.

By your logic i should already have one considering the fact that i been playing on SW since last ls patch (97 coat box and counting). So far been farming 16h without luck and i start to doubt that i will ever get one.

In short, kitten rng.

The bulk of you still think that because I’ve been playing longer you feel like you’re entitled to something. Random is random, to everybody.

That said, the drop rate is really low on purpose. For Anet to base the long time appeal and vary the drop rate based on how many players they want in the beta. If they seen not enough people looted it, then they’ll increase the drop rate.

You have the false idea that the drop rate is a static drop rate, it’s not. It’s a dynamic drop rate.

Which has nothing to with being competive enough to test beta. Any fresh lv 80 random can hop in, kill one mob and get invited to beta, just like that.

Im not sure why they would want to nerf HS at this point. They already nerfed it once by 7% as they wanted to make active portion “more attractive” – something that never happened. In this case they double nerf it for the same reason.

Here are my issues regardless new changes, the traits i wont mention here are in a good spot from my pov.

  • Strenght line;

-Restorative strenght is useless with upcoming changes to mending and overall lack of synergy with with healing surge, defiance stance and most important healing signet. It is also placed in adept with physical training rendering it as useless trait. Consider to change this trait to remove blind and weakness on a dodge.

-Building momentum considering how hard it is to land a burst in pvp a boost to 25% endurance gain wouldnt hurt.

-Axe mastery with berserker power in the same line is poor choice resulting in another useless trait due to bad placement as nobody will pick it up over berserker power. It also making gs superior in terms of dps to axe rendering axe obsolete in pve. I think axe mastery would fit better in arms master replacing rending strikes. Its allows for a great synergy between gs+axe/x and dual wielding trait creating possible bunker buster build.

  • Arms;

-Rending strikes. Its overall a weak trait, even more so in master. Also as i have mentioned above it would be better to replace it with axe mastery and give it a complete rework. Maybe small aoe blind on a succesful landed burst? Tbh i have no idea what could be done with it.

  • Defense;

-Thick skin. Its weak and makes no sense. Why anyone would want 100 toughness above 90% hp? Consider to change it to 5% damage reduction below 50%.

-Adrenal health is counter productive to overall warrior mechanic. I think it would be better if it healed us upon landing a burst for a small amount like for example 300/600/1000 based on adrenaline stage.

-Cull the weak is indeed weak. Do you feel the irony? My proposal is change to increase threshold to 50% and increase damage to weakened foes by 10%.

-Last stand should be swapped with defy pain. In current state nobody will pick it over cleansing ire.

  • Discipline;

-Vegeful return. I guess our down state will stay the way it is in which case it also should increase duration of vengeance up by 5 second and decrease losing hp in downed state by 33% to even consider taking it. In current state its yet another useless trait.

Warrior - Defense Line

Well that could work as well (if i understand it right) but at same time you kittening synergy with mace/shield which is bad. Imo in stream setup which is fine to me you have to make choice between;

-Adept; dogger march and shield mastery from pvp point as i dont see many ppl taking armored attack over these 2.

-Master; trained stances, cleansing ire. Theres no doubt that cull the weak is still weak (oh the irony) and should apply weakness at 50% hp along with 10% damage to consider it over balance stance/cleansing ire
-Gm; sundring mace, endure pain, resilence

Overall these combinations allow for different possibilities but i cannot imagine taking someone trained stances over cleansing ire. At this point it would be better to swap balance stance with endure pain as while some people will still consider endure pain as option in master, nobody will consider balance stance without vigor+increased duration. And thats basically its all i would have done.

Warrior - Defense Line

False. The traits are already ingame in a form of weaker version. Right now you can have dogger march, cleansing ire, shield mastery or reflect along with armored atk.

And now thats where the op part comes in; with these proposed changes in screenshot you gain too much for a single line;

-Reduced cd on shield/mace along with reflection leading to insane reflect uptime or nearly free panic button in form of trait at 25% hp based on a choice.
-Soft cc reduction
-Condi cleanse on burst
-50% retal uptime

Nop, it doesnt sounds op by any means. Now post that screenshot in spvp forum and ask what other classes think about it. These changes are insane, simple as that. We should be happy that now we can have access to 50% retal uptime just by choosing def line.

Thick skin sux, theres no doubt about it and its need to be deleted/reworked. But current trait placement from stream on it own is fine. Theres olny one bad placed trait and is trait for axe sharing the same spot with berserker power.

xD i think you were a bit hasty , its now 2 traits in one, check again.

it even got a great synergy with Defy Pain.

I know what it is

Clean ire, dogger march, sundering mace/defy pain/armored atk, spiked armor, shield mastery and thats all in one package. A way to go for every build leaving rest completely useless. Nop. Why you guys want to create op builds that will get nerfed into ground either way? Enough with this easy mode mentality already. These traits are placed this way with a good reason – to make choices.

And since defense line is about…defense it doesnt make much sense. That 5% damage reduction fits it way better.

Yeah..nope. The defense traitline is fine as it is outside of this ugly thick skin. I would prefer to make it 5% damage reduction under 50% hp (like revenant trait) and call it a day.

they are actually gonna buff healing signet’s active without nerfing the passive ?

The forum logic is really strong..

HS in stream was 362hp/s. Remove points from defense line and check ingame how much healing signet heals for. Its like everyone forgot about the fact that traitlines no longer grants stats—>no healing power from def line.

Right there we lose 250/300 healing power based on build so is kinda obvious that its going to heal for a bit less unless you invest in healing power. Simple as that.

Traitlines no longer grant stats ?.. That’s gonna be a big nerf to my tank build.

For compensation gear and base char stats will be raised. Now you have to mix gear. My solution was better at this point; by allowing players to select stats they want with 300cap just like we could select trait before in 30point system.

But well either way i got what i asked for and i guess i cant complain at this point. I rather have more dps/toughness than useless condi dmg/healing power.

I have been wondering for a while some time ago, if pewpew (6/6/2/0/0) is so easy to play yet super effective then why we dont see more people playing it? And then ones we generally see eating their own rapid fire cus too pro to cancel it against reflect.

Thing i love on my pewpew is when i roflstomp someone else and then they starts complain. At this point im telling them to log on pewpew and 1v1 after match – for some reason they always reject a duel

Pewpew has decent kiting abilities, high damage output but hes also squishy, lacking any condition removal outside of signet (in case if you put it on your bar ofc..) and has generally1-2 stunbreaks on long cd’s. Hardly gamebreaking compared to cancer engis. There inst any reason to nerf it, its easy to play spec but hard to master.

And how is that different from one trick pony skullcrack? The fact that you say that stab is enough to hardcounter it olny proves the fact that you have no idea how to play it either. Also in current meta i dont see a lot of stability – a reason why ring of warding/slick shoes are so strong.

I never had troubles with mobility either considering the fact that spvp is based around defending/capturing points. Also just cause you dont know how to make something work ouside of yolo skullcrack doesnt mean someone cant make it work either. Str on it own is for condi/hybrids not power builds. Wrong again.

The olny thing that will hardcounter it is something that deals ton of damage along with high uptime stab. But you only show bias towards your build. As i said above you want your build to be broken by having dps/def/cc/mobility in one package making every other build inferior to yours as who would run some glass gs+axe/shield 6/6/0/0/6 when they can go for skullcrack and still deal load of damage along with cc and being tanky as well? Exacly. Nobody.

Right there you turned every another power build to be completely useless. Thats not what devs wanted to archieve by making these changes. Unsu was always in crit line and it will stays there, i dindt seen anyone complaining about it being in arms instead of str line. But since gs trait getting buff and is placed in str line suddenly unsu foes makes no sense to be in arms anymore for you and thats olny cause you want to have all in1.. The fact alone that now you have to make a tough choise between traits is a good sigh of balance, either you adapt or reroll/quit. What you do at this point doesnt matter for me.

Considering the fact that i can get infraction for the most kitten things ever like a commend “hahahahah” when someone throw a really stupid statement/argument and it may be considered as “disruptive behavior” (been there done that) it makes no sense whatsoever.

Also by logic increasing time floor makes no sense either. It wont do anything other than annoy people which leads to the point that they will become even more toxic once someone kitten them off like it happens in my case (hello white knights!).

Now im curious if its possible to hit 24h floor time. Oh well thread can be closed. Got my answer. Ty

Skullcracker builds needs that trait to work, but ideally you would go Strength/Defense/Discipline with physical skills so that you can focus on interrupts and that iconic Skull Crack + 100b combo which doesn’t hit that hard without UF.

Yeah i perfectly know where you coming from. Just because you want to suit everything to your playstyle and pack everything into one line so you can have high dps+surv in one package doesnt it wont hurt other possible builds. Make a choice between str, def and disci line. Its up to you what you going to lose. Maybe make dogger march as minor as well so you can use shield mastery too in this gimmick skulljoke build? Wont happen.

And lack of synergy? Olny in master line (and that if you wont pick up tactic line olny, i forgot to mention). Berserker fury+furious are a huge buff to my mace/shield+hammer build as i been spending too much time gaining adrenaline. These 2 traits fixing any issues i had with it. By moving unsu foe to str line you breaking my build. Not olny that but what will happen when hb will finally get a rework? Useless trait. Ty for attention.

Now if we could get Unsuspecting Foe in the Strength Minor line where it belongs.

Why? It was always in arms and thats where it belongs – in crit line. Arms is not olny for condi as some people trying to imply. With these changes arms has high potential to become a bunker hunter line as well – signet mastery, opportunist, burst precision.

I think people are getting a bit caught up in the theoretical imbalance of this skill without knowing all the details or seeing it in an actual meta.

Kinda reminds me of the community response to the announcements of “Diamond Skin” and “Stone Heart” before those skills were actually implemented.

Turning everyone and their mother in a moa for 4sec on a 30cd is basically a iwin buttom in teamfight. Its not something easy to see coming either with all this clutter on screen.

Mortal kit is a joke as well along with blast finishers on a dodge.. they basically allowing engineer to faceroll their opponent with all these huge changes.

Engineer was always really strong, but with these changes he gains godmode tier. But im not surprised, after all devs favor engi over everything else (look at necro “changes”) in this game and pvp is dead so nobody cares as mentioned above.

Don’t forget zerker builds lose about 22% crit damage from Discipline, as well as free Toughness that made us be able not to be 1shot by Thieves. I think Zerker builds will be weaker, especially on Warrior when shoutbow alternative is so strong.

Stats on gear going to be buffed, also spvp amulets. Ofc we wont be able to make “hybrids” builds like in wvw but at least we will have defined roles.

Shoutbow with banner trait gonna become broken as .. yet even easier to play.

Its fairly obvious if a warrior is running kill shot, your animation is very slow compared to say hip shot from a rifle engi that is really hard to get out of the way of.

Will you make it in time to avoid getting hit by killshot when youre in melee range to warrior? Cause im not sure if you will be capable to get out of 1500 range considering things like camera, positioning, skill activation (rolls) and to properly aim shadow return. Now outside of reaction time rebember about latency as well.

If you can do that feel free to make a vid of “real” 1v1 where your friend will use killshot in the least excepted moment and we can take a look if you be capable to get out of range. Thats going to be interesing if you can do that in time (1 second).

Or may we give warrior f1 unblockable/unblidnable and undogable attack so you have to guess when to move out of range? How does that sound? Ill be fine with such change personally.

sure on a 60 sec CD with a 1 sec cast, ill just use roll for initiative, withdraw, shadow return, or infultrators return and evade it.

You really dont know much about thief do you? All of those are instant cast times, I said “or” for a reason.

The only time I ever get hit with kill shot now is if its far enough away and I dont see it.

Regardless my point of that was not to get into this, but to point out that many mistake shadow stepping for stealth (I did to at first when I played other classes), thus they assume that thieves have all this stealth and they dont.

Animation spotting+reaction time+latency. Or you trying to imply that your ping is 1 and you have godlike reaction?

Noone mistake shadowstepping for stealth here. What im saying is that with -50% damage reduction in stealth they in fact gaining a bit too much considering how broken stealth is on it own (has nothing to do with thief btw) . Channel abilities? They will hit like a wet noodles. Aoe? Guess game that will hit like wet noodle as well. Spam 1 for cleave hoping for a lol 500 crit? Good luck. The way how stealth working now (no real counter, just purely guess game) its going to be broken as hell.

And yet we dont have any mechanic to deal with stealth outside of spamming random aoes, cleaves and guess when they attack – and even when we outplay stealth classes by block/blind/dodge them they wont get revealed luls gut balance gut

Once in a while when im bored, i jump in and pewpew everything tha moves. What it has to do with broken mechanic tho that has no real counter other than guess game?

Or may we give warrior f1 unblockable/unblidnable and undogable attack so you have to guess when to move out of range? How does that sound? Ill be fine with such change personally.

sure on a 60 sec CD with a 1 sec cast, ill just use roll for initiative, withdraw, shadow return, or infultrators return and evade it.

I would like to see that, before you do all this stuff my killshot already will 1 shot ko you

Scooba, do you even have any clue what you are saying?
Warrior will just be a boring-to-play, non-skillful class to play shoutbow on.

Olny if youre going to run lol shoutbow. I go for physical gs+axe/shield day one when these changes get live. Overall there are many possibilites now how you build up so i dont see a reason to complain. Some builds will have to give up fast hands tho. Engi, thief and war are winners in this poi either way.
