they could easly bring in an equivalent of said commando using tyrian tech instead of modern day real life stuff. I mean you have a army have special trained asura or something.
We already have charrcopters, charrtanks etc. An elite skill where you call these to shoot down your target would be hilarious.
Support role is fine. Problem is that theres not much left for anyone willing to play something else with their fav class. Imo every class should have viable builds divided between support, dps, control, tank as their trait line goes. Noone want to be forced into a specific builds that doesnt suit the playstyle of X person.
Sooner or later they will implement it. They stated already that they struggled with performance during a wyvern boss in HoT so they had to go around the problem by creating new textures;

Well if the Revenant gets that teleporting-attack Rytlok used in the trailer, then yes, stealth is a thing, because he stealths and then starts shadow-stepping and cutting all over da place.
It doesnt look like a stealth, he just gains misty form there, just like hammer 3. But personally i hope that he have at least one skill which would grant him stealth (in utility), after all its a dark magic profession, a “death knight” under new name.
Actually he stays in the stealth-particles for a brief second even after he stops teleporting. Looks EXACTLY like being stealthed. It would be fun if he only stealthed for the attack, but actually quite broken because getting hit lots and lots by something invisible and thus untargetable is pretty BS.
That would be actually fun xD either way i looked up at the trailer again and the olny thing i see is a jump at the start and the thing you mentioned is a mist form unless its a professions specific stealth color like mass invis from mesmer where youre surround by a purple effect but i doubt it considering the animation with hammer 3 where we can observe similiar effect..

plus that stability line could actually help necro partners out of position and rev can pull and apply burning with mace/axe

Since warriors like to comparing themself to ele – do you can cancel rtl? Nope. On top of that double cd if you miss. Rush can be canceled by wep swap anyway.

Axe AA already beats 100b, if anything needs faster casting then its GS AA the worst auto attack ever.
slow like a hammer and so weak, maybe if they make it cleave 5 targets things might be brighter.
Well in general gs aa is weak across the game as gs tend to me more about burst and mobility rathen than sustain dps. Olny guardian gs aa seems to be a solid one but its still outshined by their sword..

This ability also wont land on anyone even on a flat ground if you lagging cause it activates in the air. Also if someone intterupt you it goes on full cd.

Without cd you be able be to spam hammer 5 to death with current energy cost. You want to remove cd’s on wep skills but in this case energy cost has to be raised by a lot to not make it op, rendering utilities being useless as you wont have energy to cast them. Think about it really. Also cd’s on wep skills right now are really low so i dont see a problem.
Look at the mace alone, add str runes and enjoy perma 19+ might stacks thanks to low cd’s on it abilities..
These traits for weapons are a joke to begin with. They should be completely removed in my opinion and i hope revenant doesnt have have any as its a boring desing and weapons without them feels incomplete and weak in many cases.
Traits should be all about utility and so far, they did a great job with that in revenant. Traits itself are not even bound to legendary stances except that one which grants immunity boon while using mallyx skills. I like that personally as i dont have to take Jalis for retribution trait line.
Its funny how everyone are concerned about low dmg output on hammer in cele gear which will be probably on pair with ranger lb if not higher actually. Make a ranger with celestial amulet and no traits/runes which should result in 1365 power, 458 damage in tooltip at max range in long range shot – compare that with the tooltip on 1 with hammer.
Now we olny dont know how well hammer on revenant scales with power, but i dont think its going to scale bad considering the fact he doesnt have a weapon swap, on top of that his damage ability on skill 2 in max range might be actually pretty close to eviscrate damage.
But well while you all looking at how low he hits with that hammer, im more curious about his skill utilities, actually n.3 on hammer to be precise. It seems like it goes to kitten all gap closers and bursts;
Example 1;
In the POI where the leap was used, the mob actually turned back to the leap targeted location instead of continuing to follow the original position of revenant. What if i lets say use rush/swoop and at same time revenant will use his leap somewhere else lets say behind me? Will i continue to going to the original location of revenant or i will turn around like the mob in poi that will “kitten” my gap closer? I think the latter.
Example 2;
Lets say a warrior or mesmer used immo at me and started to use hb/blur frenzy. At same time i have used this magical leap that seems more like a teleport with animation that ignores cripple/chill/immo. In theory im not psychically there anymore where someone burst me down, instead im going to the targeted location. Will i continue taking damage or ill avoid it completely?
Also what about projectiles? Will they miss or actully hit me still? Theres no doubt that i will be able to avoid them by running out of range anyway.
Overall this class seems to be solid, but it also seems to to have a really high skill celling, and i doubt many ppl will be able to play it properly and push it t the limit. Many players will drop this class probably within a month. But inst is something that should apply to every class? Weak in noob hands, destructive in skilled hands?
I dont know how it will look like in the end as we still dont have full list of traits, weapons or skill damage coefficient, but personally im looking forward to this class as the mechanic of it fits my playstyle perfectly. Will it be underpowered, or overpowered? Will it be easy to play or harder than ele+engi combined? Time will tell. Theres olny 1 thing i know atm, ranting that hes OP is absurd as we still dont know much about him.

And juggernaut doesnt count as hammer, its actually closer to iron staff.
I can’t believe no one listed engineer. So many fields and finishers, access to lots of might and one of the best heals in the game when used properly. I will gladly face tank with my bomb engi all the live long day.
And cc. We all know that. Healing turret is definitely better than healing signet, theres no point to even argue over that.

At the very least, the projectile should come out of the hammer, instead of simply popping up at the target instantly. Kind of like Guardian’s scepter AA (but with a different animation, of course). That, or the swinging animation should be less physical and more magical, like Guardian’s Staff.
If you take a closer look it doesnt pop up instantly at target. The swing animation itself charge energy then release it from hammer. To be more precise it actually looks like you throw mistic hammer, a copy of your weapon. And lets not forget that Rytlock was a warrior, thats where the psychical aspect comes from.
Im not a fan of guardian lootstick either btw. Scepter is not a good example considering the fact that you also swing with it to release energy.

They don’t even need to make it float (although I personally would enjoy that). Just have the revenant do something more interesting than simply swinging through the air. It currently looks like they are trying to catch a dodging fly.

The heal from adren will be used for bursting/cleansing mostly,its not consistent and it isn’t a usable heal on command.You can’t slap that together with healsig and say oh look warrs have a constant 400hp sec incoming regen,thats plain bullkitten.

There is a reason why zerker specced classes can barely bring down Warriors below 90% hp in WvW before they are promptly slaughtered by the Warrior because he is having very high damage at the same time.
Which zerker class have trouble getting war below 90%? My pewpew melts warriors, i get them down to 30% hp before they even manage to get close in wvw. Warrior is just a meatshield. Active defense>passive defense.
Btw. Cause someone mentioned above one skill (2lazy to reseach post), here it is;

We didnt seen that skill in poi. 5 legends, 4 utility for each of them is possible.

As for racial skills etc you should be able to swap current legend skills with them. Howered i dont know why ppl keep ask for it as racial skills sux and i havent seen anyone using em either ingame.
Btw. are Revenant at pax going to have all legends, weapons and traits or just a demo version like we saw in poi?

And yeah warriors are bad, i wont touch it with a stick anymore when its coming to pvp, in pve i turned him to sw chestfarm mule, once new class drop in i will turn him into depo char. And i have played my warrior over 4k hours – now thats sad.
And you know the saddest thing? Today in wvw i won 1v2 with my pewpew ranger against 2 wars. And everyone knows that pewpew is a joke. Warrior has poor sustain, poor damage. Its a good class to introduce newbie in the game but thats about it.
In both cases the elite power was a toggle, not a big effect like you seem to be expecting.
Jalis elite is not a toggle skill. Its a skills similiar to endure pain (at least it seems to be this way as wolf damage was 0 during that time) with casttime. A buff that lasted 5 sec and you had to recast it again.

I have seen many mix..and not so many that match well together, instead it looked like “put some random pieces to look like a trash and call it a super pro style fashion winner, now everyone will stare at me” well nope, noone will stare at you.
Also maybe noone of you have noticed but many new armors (yeah, those are not outfits, what a surprise right?) coming with HoT, so hold your horses and wait.

Warrior underwater is better than on land – a fact.
Revenant gets 2 condi on crit trait.
2 years after, mesmer still doesnt have a confusion on crit trait, while other classes apply confusion better.:(
The last thing mesmer need is more braindead conditions in their PU junk.

Because the best available info to hand is we won’t be able to select individual utilities. They’re set by legend. That may not be true but it’s what seems to be true and no dev has come along to say otherwise.
Im sure they will allow you to swap racial skills with the legend ones but lets be honest – you nerfing yourself at this point. Who in their mind would trade no cd decent ability for some useless junk?
If revenants do have racials I would expect them to use energy instead of cooldowns. And sometimes racials are more useful than your profession abilities. Depends on what you’re doing.
Hint hint; arrows above utilities. Also they said its not set up in the stone yet. Personally i hope we wont be able to mix skills between legends as at this point “legendary stances” makes no sense anymore. I can already imagine ppl setting utility 1 to endlessy remove conditions, utility 2 to endlessy rip boons, utility 3 to endlessy stun break and swap to another legend for best bursts utilities.
Allowing revenant to put racials instead of legends skills is a good idea and i bet its going to end up this way. And why they would use energy instead of cd? Revenant is not a special snowflake. Also outside of that norn ability in wvw which i mentioned above i never found other racials to be useful.

I hope they can use greatsword. I wont probably use it as sword/x or staff seems to be a really interesing choise over gs for the first time. But unlike other selfish ppl here i don’t want to take away the possibility to wear gs if ppl want to.
After all its a class in heavy armor, not some dude in cloths. Why i don’t see anyone complaining about necros getting gs? Right..

And racial abilities working in wvw. Norn has huge advantage over other races as they can go invisible in leopart form with any class and run away from the fight – i did it many times myself on a guard. But thats elite skill on really high cd.
Why do you think you get a taunt? Even if you get one its will be high telegraphed on a long cd. And its not like you cant use stunbreak either.
And like Tom said, new cookies are for revenant+specializations olny

I dont have problem with the way revenant is designed right now. If you want more utility per legend its okay, but if you want to use Mallyx utilities while channeling Jalis then i have to disagree. As it stands now each legend has it pros and cons.
Making utilities like glyphs? We will be waiting for revenant a year+ at this point as they need to basically start over.
Porbably bc we can’t play it yet. That and people who would go there and start creating bilions qq threads about class being op, looking cooler, having better designed traits and so on..
Possibly today we will get info about specializations so revenant threads will be gone anyway

I know pretty well what to say and how to deal with them. But if you coming to forum crying that invis doesnt grant you invul and that you want to be untouchable during that time then i dont see any point explaining stuff to person like that.
Its not like stealth inst broken to begin with.. Warrior loses his adrenaline on missed burst, why invis doesnt break at this point when someone evade/block you? Theres no reward for outplaying someone in invis. But f logic
