It would probably be more informative to say where and how. Not just pictures and via teleport.

Happened yet again at Shatterer, and today at Tequatl for the first time. Is a dev ever going to look into this?

The end bosses and the thermal core section were fantastic.

Thermal core was a bit lacklustre. I just stood in the same spot the entire time since none of the big weapon attacks did enough damage to pose any threat at all.

Then the NPCs said we needed to warn Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel about the weapon and I burst out laughing.

Nice touch at the end where the enemy comes down to take care of us himself and dies in one hit, though.

Maybe I worded a bit wrong. It was fantastic in what they tried to get players to do. Jump over shockwaves (which was important later), be active, learn to use stability if you’re tired of getting knocked around.

The end bosses and the thermal core section were fantastic. The rest didn’t feel engaging, as almost all of it was just trash mob after trash mob.

I don’t know why the system is how it is, but my guess is that it requires less stress and resources of the server to have one person be the instance owner. It’s not the first MMO to do this type of thing.

The Jugs of Liquid Karma that are obtained from turning in the pages/letters found in the Molten Facility are bugged and do not stack with the daily acquired ones. They are not soulbound, as I can transfer them between characters, but they won’t stack either.

Happened again for me at Shatterer. Receiving less exp/karma/money reward from the event completion than normal and no chests for first completion for two days in a row.

I believe that the guild upgrades and benefits provided are still tied to your home server, despite guesting. So because your guild is on JQ, and not on GoM, you have access to none of it because it hasn’t been built yet on GoM.

Also, there are the rare times that a single map or two resets itself, so the nodes wind up changing without a new build.

I’m going to have to give up for now. Searched the OST one by one and about 40ish tracks on YouTube (since the OST doesn’t have all of them) and didn’t find it. Maybe I missed it while moving the slider along. I know it’s definitely a song present in GW2 though.

It is definitely a GW2 song. I’m searching through the OST now, but it may take awhile.

Been happening to me more recently. Twice with Shatterer last night. Earlier today with Fire Elemental. I finally got the Shatterer one after changing maps.

I noticed that these events gave me way less exp than usual. I’m talking 782ish for gold at Shatterer, when the normal was like 10k+ for my 80 at Shatterer. Is this DR, or some type of bug, thinking my character isn’t the appropriate level?

Attachment is of FE. Third time trying, still no chest, changed maps as well. The amount of event reward I get is way too low for an 80, since the rewards scale to your level.

I’m sure there’s more cases of this, and it’s a pretty minor thing in terms of the entire game… but I think it would be nice if different / more dialogue options were added depending on where the character has been.

For instance, in the screenshot, the only option is that you have never been to Lion’s Arch. Which is possible, but quite strange when/if you spend a lot of time there.

I’m always at nearly 1 mill karma and constantly looking for ways to just get rid of it.

You’ve had a lot of bad experiences with guild dungeon runs. When I run dungeons with a party that is composed of mostly my guild, I make sure no one kicks unless the person is downright rude and being a kitten.

I would hope that those going for the theoretical achievements would have the courtesy to form groups solely for achievements, and don’t try to force others to do it. Just like people form groups for skipping only or killing only. This isn’t much different, and it would come about anyway. Form a group for the task, not force others to do what you want.

I definitely would love to see some of these achievements in the game. Dungeon Master just isn’t enough!

My cousin has GWAMM (3X/50 I believe), and finds the game fun / enjoyable. However, he admits that it has flaws that need fixing.

Just noticed this recently, and it’s not a deal breaker or anything (as far as I can tell). But I noticed that when I browse the forum, my old e-mail is displayed at the top. While I’m on the main page of the website, my new e-mail is displayed.

I’m all for revamping CoF path 1. However, it needs to be a balanced change that still makes it worthwhile to run. For instance, I used to do all the AC paths pretty equally. Ever since the change, I only like to do 1 and 3, because it is unbelievably difficult to get a competent group for path 2.

I’m not super competitive by any means, but I’d like to see my ranking overall, not just the top 100.

Having just tried a T1 bounty with my small guild. We had about 5 people for this. Don’t even bother unless there are people on the map willing to help you. They take too long to kill, even if you do what most guilds are doing (sending one to each map to halt NPC movement).

I was looking forward to guild missions. I was trying to be optimistic about them, despite the initial shock of the influence amount. I don’t want to have to join a large guild just to be able to do the new content. I shouldn’t have to join a large guild. I’m honestly baffled at how ANet thought this was a good idea.

Wasn’t quite sure if there was another topic for this. I was going to one of the new waypoints and came across this NPC named Diplomat Tarban, who has a gold star over his head. He also has attack descriptions (Confusion / Cripple), so I imagine that he’s part of the bounty missions.

Same here. Framerate drops down to 15-17 when protecting Hodgins and in the scepter piece grab.

Path 1
Dragon tooth and earth spikes. The teeth drop on ranged people, and one can walk out of this. The earth spikes are aimed at the person Alpha has aggro on, and he uses it after the tooth drops. It can help to range him if you have aggro so you can dodge the spikes, and have everyone else stand behind him.

Path 2
Glacial shard, earth rings, and dragon tooth.

Path 3
Glacial shard, earth rings, earth spikes. Spikes hit after ice which appears on one person. Can also help for the person who has aggro to be ranged for the spikes to aim elsewhere, and easier maneuvering in circles to save your endurance.

Path 3 Alpha’s moves are pretty hazy to me, in terms of the exact things he does. Most of the time you wind up dodging out of any ice/earth attack anyway.

Dodging his main holycraproomfullofAoE is pretty much count 3 fast seconds and then dodge. You fight Alpha 3 times per path. Stage 1 Alpha does his main moves. Stage 2 Alpha adds crystallization. Stage 3 Alpha fight adds healing.

Ditto on gold hoarder. I got that a long time ago and no longer have the gold in bank to fix it.

In dungeons, people should always be prepared to swap utilities for group needs…. if everything on your bar is critical to your build…. I just don’t know what to say…. better be a godly build that’s so useful no group would ever want you to change it….

I had exactly the same feeling when I first started doing fractals. After doing it several time I don’t find it as bad anymore. It fun reflecting all those bombs into his face and see those pretty numbers pop up, or laugh at them when they stun themselves trying to heal.
What I hate about that fractal is everything before the boss. All dredges have protection + regen + might buffs just made everything extremely tedious.

Does it still reflect though? I know the animation pretty well, and despite casting feedback on the mining suit, no numbers pop up anymore.

It varies really. And depends on how you like to play. I like to bring the class I think has more value in the whole party setup.

For example, in AC I almost always bring my Warrior or Elementalist. Having Kholer focus on me if I’m on my Warrior helps tons, as he’s not jumping all over the place. Meanwhile I just sit there and face tank him.

But for Fractals, I bring my Mesmer. That’s rather personal preference though. I have more fun on my Mesmer since it’s squishier, and it keeps me on my toes.

So basically, it depends on what the group already consists of, and what you can bring to the table to help out the group.

They would most likely receive more attention, but not good attention. Legendaries already require a dungeon, but the difficulty varies per legendary. The way that I see it, they take small aspects of different parts of the game. For example, dungeon tokens, WvW badges, etc.

It is a fact that getting a legendary isn’t challenging, it is a feat of dedication and grinding. It just needs to be made more skillful and not focus too much on one part of the game, so that it isn’t catering to one group more than another.

It should net the full 60 per, but I can’t state it for fact because I haven’t gotten a chance to test it myself. Only going off what others have experienced.

I’ve heard of people relogging to fix it, but I’m not sure if that truly works or not. The last time I had this issue was before the 28th patch.

SE is perfectly fine for a beginner, so long as they listen and work with their group.

There are some players who no matter what, refuse to listen. No amount of communication gets through to them. What usually winds up happening is tons of frustration, or carrying that person through the fractal.

Fixing a lot of issues in fractals will help people rely less on exploits and glitches. But it won’t change the fact that many people are incompetent when it comes to basic mechanics.

The 5 runs/2 hours thing was an estimate/speculation of how many dungeons you could run before getting punished with diminished return. Because if you were running that many dungeon runs in that time limit, you may or may not have been speed clearing or using exploits. However, I believe they changed the formula, so that this is no longer the case.

DR shouldn’t be account wide anymore, if I recall. And according to what JJBigs said. I would test it myself, but I’m lagging hard right now.

So you should be able to do (no time limit between each):
CoF Path 1 on Character A = 60 tokens
CoF Path 1 on Character B = 60 tokens

However (I believe this is how it would work):
CoF Path 1 on Character A = 60 tokens
CoF Path 1 on Character A = DR

I took the hit and bought the mystic binding agent for science. I was too greedy hoping for a quick buck in hoping that it would allow you to transform x lodestone into y lodestone. Turns out it’s a replacement to Elonian Wine (with another meaningless feature) and as such, I’m out 10 laurels.

Oh well, I’m just gonna collect them now.

Wow, i would have thought it was a guaranteed promotion to lodestones, not a converter. Can’t you take cores and promote them to lodestones using that?

You can double your return on cores, shards, and fragments. Not lodestones though.

I’m saving my laurels for the cat tonic, or for the wolf mini.

Most of the diminished return information is based on anecdotal evidence. It’s been said that the 5 runs/2 hours is no longer the case. According to what JJBigs said, I assume same path diminished return is no longer the case account wide.

The sea of bad thieves is astounding. On the other hand, you can tell when there’s a good thief, but at that point, the effect is just meh.

It doesn’t help that a lot of people build pure glass cannon and don’t know how to use the dodge key.

Be willing to listen. Even if you aren’t doing explorable, some others may have done story before, and are doing it on their alts. Don’t be that person who brings all solo abilities to a place that requires teamwork. And most importantly, don’t be that person who refuses to take a certain ability just because you don’t like it.

When I run with my guild, this tends to take 2-3 cycles because our class setup and builds are all over the place. If I go with PUGs, it tends to take 3-5. I think it got nerfed way too much, but I’m not complaining.
