what if there is no way to adapt because the tools and condi removal we have is not enough
if meta is condition heavy with little to no burst → run with high vitality high damage build and kill them before they can get enough condis on you
protip: necromancers are very weak to cc, get up to their face and knock them off. (same goes for engis)
I really don’t get warriors.
You got a 20 point trait that allows you to remove 3 conditions every 8 seconds (if you use Defektive’s LB/SS build, that is), no class can remove conditions with the same speed while still doing damage. On top of that you can get PLENTY of condition removal either via traits or with Mending or with Lyssa runes (since you got a low cd elite to spam).
You can also get insane CC builds by running hammer and mace/shield (or mace/mace for the lolz)
Poor warriors have to spend points in defensive trees to be viable? welcome to the real world, where some classes already run with almost no points in offensive trees, just to not die horribly.
I’ll tell you why…Because playing SPvP in this game is like playing Civil War Map in SWTOR..

How anyone can think this game will ever be taken seriously as an Esport when a game like SWTOR has Huttball…which is a 1000 times more interesting and fun than any map in this game is hilarious.

First off Zoose is probably one of the best Ele’s NA, if not in the game….
2nd, the build is a tPVP build, where you play like a thief. It’s a completely different style to the conventional Ele builds and if you play like an Ele you die. Your heals aren’t half your health pool anymore and you run around with 70% crit and 62% crit damage in sPVP. The cost? No toughness, and positioning becomes number 1 priority.
It all depends on how you play. Ele’s have so many builds right now you can pick a play style and go with it. 0/20/0/20/30 with valks and divinity is still very good, 0/10/0/30/30 aura share isn’t AS good anymore, but still good. 0/0/20/20/30 and 0/0/10/30/30 bunker builds are still very good, and the new 0/30/0/10/30 builds are as good. It all depends on what your good with, what you prefer in builds and how you wanna play. It’s fantastic.
Personally I would practice positioning and acting like a thief with the build. Because that’s what you are.

I really don’t see the problem with “changing stat allocation and playstyle”, omg, as if people in mmorpgs have never rerolled alt characters.
My ele in pve is d/d with completely different stat (and traits ofc) allocation compared to my s/d build that I use in pvp, and I have no problem. If else, it adds variety.
But everyone has its tastes, which is ok.

I’m not sure if it is exactly 5 seconds but there is a cooldown on fresh air. Try this (starting in air attunement):
Switch to fire, attack until crit procs fresh air, switch to air, immediately switch to another attunement, use arcane blast or wave for the auto-crit, and fresh air won’t proc.
I just tested this on a dolyak in Dredgehaunt Cliffs and had 0 cooldown. I switched attunements as rapidly as it would let me, got a crit immediately, and Fresh Air activated every time. No internal cooldown at all.

matchmaking is working as intended: you get matched either with soloQers of your same rating, or against a premade of much lower rating
what is broken, is that if you lose against a much lower ranked premades (because, duh, voIP gives a “slight” advantage even if they suck), you’re going to lose so many points and the game won’t take into consideration that it was solo vs premade. This is what kitten es me off when i soloQ.

1.Why not 20 on Water and 20 on Arcana?

2.Why Air Training instead of Aeromancer’s Alacitry?
Lets pretend X spell does 100 damage and has 10 seconds cooldown.
With Air Training (deals 10% more damage when attuned to air)
It will do 110 × 6 = 660 total damage within a minute.
With Aeromancer’s Alacitry (all your air weapon skills recharge 20% faster)
It will do 100 × 7.5 = 750 total damage within a minute
3.Why not put the trait Final Shielding in the Arcane Power Trait since you would be able to overuse it with its short internal cooldown?
1) 20 water 20 arcana is perfectly fine (that’s what I run), it’s a matter of preference between that and 10 water / 30 arcana
2) your reasoning about air cd reduction would be valid, if you were to stay in air attunement for a whole minute. However, considering air attunement recharge / fresh air 5s icd, which is the same cd as Lightning Strike, you would gain nothing damage wise (you would actually reduce your lightning strike and arcana spells damage by 10% when in air). RTL/Updraft cd reduction is not worth that trait (while Shocking Aura and the new buffed Lightning Touch would for d/d)
3) Final Shielding has a 75s cooldown, unless it is broken.
Burning is so weak that it does the same damage as 7 stacks of bleed. In a single application.
And poison is so weak that it negates 33% of your healing.

Kinda hard to ignore it when you want something (and generally deserve it too) but you’re out shined by lifeless spvp zerg zombies.
I solved the problem by wearing orrian armor on my characters as soon as I was able to craft it with paid tokens XD
Yeah, I was mainly thinking of the word one-shot which invokes the wrong thoughts. That is a looong and tricky combo to complete.
yeah, people in this game refer to oneshot as to kill someone in one burst combo, however long/complex that might be :p
Sooo, you can one-shot a necro with a burst ele?
I can’t say it didn’t happen, but no single damage skill does enough damage to take down a necro.
The Phoenix movemenet speed change was needed, though. It should be easier to dodge, if you notice the change to fire attunement and knowing that an ele will be waiting for a time to launch it. It is faster now, but not fast enough to not avoid it, if it is cast from a distance. If cast from melee range it will be tough to dodge, but if you keep running unpredictably, it might not hit you properly for full damage.
Interesting talk though.
it is indeed possible to kill a necro with 0 life force and 0 stun breakers with a s/d burst rotation as an ele
all it takes is hurl+earthquake -> flash -> switch air -> 2-arcane wave+blast-rtl-updraft -> switch fire -> phoenix+ring of fire + fire grab. Easy, right? :p
so yeah, not really a oneshot, but you can gib them if all conditions are met (and they rarely are.)

leaderboard decay is in, proof is I just gained like 80 positions in the last couple hours without playing since yesterday. It’s just less “harsh” that what you would expect, I guess.
Of course, there are still people who haven’t played a game in like a month (or more), and are still in the same position, but that is another matter XD

of course there is nothing better to talk about, it’s not like jumper needs me to tell him that he’s a great player.
It’s always nice to see a class spam 3 buttons (3, dodge and heal) and kitten someone else.

They should reset every month and declare a winner every month. That is once they actually get a ladder decay (decay after 3 days no play and significantly after 5 days no play). Come on, these are the basics.
every month is a bit too frequent, every 3/6 months sounds more reasonable imo.

I’m gonna try out this as my D/D tPvP build, even tho Stone Splinter is only 5% damage, it is more reliable than the current Bountiful Power. Triple arcane is there for the lolz, I think I’ll probably shift to aWave+aShield+LF eventually like I do on my S/D build.
Or I could go with Renewing Stamina instead of Arcane Mastery, and play with Sigil of Hydromancy for insane Chill uptime, expecially if coupled with Water-GoEP (once it’s fixed)

I’m not judging you on anything. You’re taking what I said too personally. I’m simply saying that is impossible to fully grasp a class’s balance and skill level at low-level play.
Also, you’re not ranked anywhere on the ladder, as far as I can tell.
I guess Onibawan play at low-level then, seeing how they got melted by TP (I’m talking about a 500-100 and 500-250 shutout) running 2 necros and no guardian. Their tactic? Pre-match: “necros, just do damage”, easy win
Necros are currently broken and terribly unbalanced, and that is a fact.
I’m not really sure if rune of strength is fixed either but i usually use hoelbrak for a decent survivability if i choose to go as am offensive build.
But i’m fixated with mostly support so i’m using staff most of the time.
just checked, Runes of Strength are still bugged and not giving the +5% damage with might…kitten.
hint:
lingering elements and 10% more damage while in air atunement.
Kind of like a permanent 10% damage boost.
protip: lingering attunement does not work with air training
having a WvW jp part of TWO achievement is total bullkitten
it’s IMPOSSIBLE to do this if you’re in a high tier matchup, there are too many people killing each other.
I think that build is good. You can dodge more with energy sigil too, haha so it’s not bad at all ^^
It’s just a different way of playing imo through those traits. I kinda changed to Hoelbrak runes cause the -20% condition duration atm for condi teams.

How did you came up with 5-6 seconds ?
condition duration and I stun duration (I think that applies to fears, necros correct me if I’m wrong) that make all those fears last 2s each or so, I guess XD

no, necros are not really fine when they can melt people like that, it’s nice to see them around again, but they went a little overboard.
well, it does say that it removes conditions for -bar of adrenaline spent-, if a missed burst doesn’t spend adrenaline (I don’t know if that’s the case, I don’t play warrior), than there is nothing wrong in how the tooltip is written
it surely sucks tho.

My preliminary testing has been positive, but I can’t test this against good opponents right now (having no team sucks :p) so I don’t really know if this would work or not
still warriors unless they find some new viable spec.
I hardly thing they would give us a +10% damage trait at 10 points which is up regardless of attunement, probably a typo when they were swapping traits around
Ah ok, because it’s a blowout and not a knockdown? Boo, although the combo may do enough damage even with fresh air since with that trait you could hit F3 at the end to get one last zap in and also have the blind ready for stomping. I’ll test it when I get some time, if you or someone else gets to it first lemme know how it goes
And yeah, it’s a bit all-in, but 1 shotting someone out of a fight is also pretty strong as I’m sure you know
yep, Grounded/Tempest Defense only works on hard knockdowns, so you would only be able to use it after earthquake (which isn’t really bad if you pull off the quakeflash combo)…or you have to exploit warrior’s hammer burst knockdowns..(yeah, warriors… XD)
The dislike thing about Scholar is if u fall below 90% health, u will lose the +10% boost dams which I find it more often in team fight or even 1v1. With Eagle, while it does not offer boost dams as much as Scholar does (10% vs 5%) but it boost more often since in team fight, once a player getting focus, his health drop below 50% pretty fast, save for Bunker Engine and Bunker Guardian.
I may try a the com Valk with Berserker Jewel. But there is also a reason why I choose Zerker over Val for extra Vit. The weekness of this build is Condi Cleanse, so more Health Pool is better than Big Toughness in my opinion.
Arcana Shield is good. However, it is so easy to be removed. It can only block 3 attacks, if a player skill enough, they just auto attack Arcane Shield bf go for burst. Plus in team fight, where AOE is everywhere, Shield will be removed even faster.
I will try the Val/Zerker Jewel to see how it goes. Thanks for the input.
eagle runes are awful, if you want to use power runes instead of using divinity, go for Ogre x6, they offer the highest damage even without factoring the rock dog.
and yet S/D burst doesn’t deal a fruckload of aoe damage like a shatter combo after pulling 4 people does. I doesn’t even deal the same damage as a blurred frenzy+shatter combo.

also, you can actually join forces with other players to buy/mantain a CA with the settings you want (deathmatch, duel, standard, whatever).
if a 5man team bought a CA, it would cost them just 4€ each for the starter kit, and then they would split manteinance costs…it would be something like 2€/month for each person.
I really think that’s hardly too much, considering that back in the day my team and I had to pay like 25€/month (7€ each since it was a 4 man team) to rent a FPS server.
btw, yeah, you can make gold from dyes XD
uhm, you do know that every server rental works like this?
if you rent a CS/BF/CoD/whatever, you pay the whole month, regardless if you play on it or not
also, after the first “free” month, you will always pay with daily tokens, so I don’t see any problem with current pricing.

so it was a bugfix, not a nerf.
I’m in love with fresh air (0/30/0/20/20 atm, with berserker amulet waiting to test it in tournaments), it really smoothens S/D gameplay imo.
just be thankful it’s not as harsh as it is in GW1.
