Could somebody do me a favour? Right now I can’t create new topics (don’t know how long it’ll be). Would be nice if someone could create a topic about Winter’s Bite tooltip bug in the bug section.

The weakness duration was added to the tooltip but instead of showing the duration applied by my pet it shows the duration as it would be applied by me (it takes my additional condition duration, not the pet’s). The duration is working as it should – it’s just the tooltip.

Yes, i said it! you said something that is unreasonable of how warrior should be masters of bows; totally untrue. Where in warfare history where a warrior was ever one?

What’s a warrior?

Someone who wears armor? – So viking berserkers weren’t warriors?

Someone who’s paid to fight? – So hired archers were warriors?

You can’t say something about weaponary of historic “warriors” because it kinda describes everybody who was fighting – No matter what kind of weapons or armour were used.

As already said, it’s a game – don’t start with rl comparisons.

In the mmo world – yes – the ranger/archer should at least be equal to the warrior. But now the big difference: The warrior’s bow is a support weapon. If you try to only use the bow you won’t go anywhere. It’s the combination of the immobilize, arcing arrow and fire field for might for the hammer warrior or the fire field, bleed on #5 and fire fan for condition warriors. While ANet tries to make the rangers bow a main weapon they screw it up – as long as a ranged weapons lacks so much in dmg it can’t be used as a main weapon, only as a supportive weapon and unfortunately it works better on the warrior than on the ranger.

Hello it’s me again…

You all have missed the point. Every-one agrees that warriors are “OP” right now. They were considered that way too when GW1 first came out. But after 7 years of nerfing they became totally useless. I couldn’t even walk through Jade Quarry with out being instantly killed by a Mesmer or Ranger, I wont go into 66 monks… After 5 years you had to beg and plead with a group to take you on any harder adventure. And that was with 500 skills to choose from. If I had a top of the line, water cooled gaming monster this would not change. I see in the near future after game balancing Warriors will become the weakest class yet again, and the balancing for PvP will effect PvE. Or why my original title was “Why does ANET hate warriors?”

Honestly you’re right, half the warrior stunbreaks don’t work in the tower, that’s one of the things that made it unfun.

A condition warrior killed by a bow ranger – do you even use your keyboard?

Let me first say I am not making a threat, nor am I serious…

I will fly you out and give you a bow, I will put on a set of mail and grab a sword and we will enter a 8X10 room minus the furniture. Who do you think is gonna walk out of that room? I’m sorry my money is on me. I have issues with game nerfs that change this outcome.

As far as low rez graphics not being fun I got 3 words…

Super Adventure Box

The almighty hammer is the way most warriors go right now, what will you do once they take that away from you? If they must balance the game why not make the weaker classes stronger or faster rather than always making the warrior weaker? The 15% reduction in long bow damage will effect me in PvE right now but they didn’t do that to the rangers long bow. How is this fair? And if they pass on the instant condition removals to NPC foes I will once again have wasted much time and game gold and this has me upset.

Too bad I’m a traditional archer in rl and my bows easily penetrate all kind of mail armour.

But as I already said, warriors faceroll bow rangers – even the distance of 1500 units is traveled in 3 seconds. If you say warriors are weak… sorry but this is the first time I’d have to say l2p. Ranger’s longbow has to be buffed because it’s kinda useless, rather than the warrior’s longbow.

Warriors are the best class right now – even after the hammer nerfs which are totally eligible.

Btw, your low end hardware has nothing to do with ANet’s balancing. I’m also running GW2 with a low end pc, built self for ~200 bucks, I have to play everything on low otherwise it’s stucking when an engi throws his stuff at me but I’m fine with that.

But it should work with SoW and/or sigil of intelligence.

To me, it’s okay if people spoil their lives on an activity of this sort, but players who do more remarkable things should be awarded as good or maybe better.

They in fact do get rewarded. You won’t see it at first and no statistic can show it but it’s called skill.

I agree with Xae despite the fact that I love killing legendary wielders.

Everyone should be able to play the game like they want. If they only play PvE, grind a legendary or farm gold to buy it (this also takes some time…) and then head to into the mists for some obligatory WvW they are kinda free food.

I’d never get a legendary even if I’d be the best player in the world because I simply wouldn’t spend that much time/gold for it. I love my bandit’s weapons and I’m even going to transmute my ascended weapons into them.

I know it’s hard to read… But there is a difference between removing something and removing the acquisition.

To your second point:

Nobody loses the AP, not even the OP. But other people can still get more. So when I got my ascended weapons now and ANet would release even better weapons than this, I -
1.) Keep my ascended weapons and run around with this now “inferior” weapons or
2.) Invest more time into getting the now better weapons than I invested for the ascended.

It’s just fun to pick legendary wielders out of a zerg. It’s like fishing – you want the biggest of the big and a legendary is just screaming : “Here I am, come and get me!”

The only thing I understand in this topic is:

“I’m top tier with my AP, but I don’t want to spend so much time anymore but nobody should be allowed to get more AP than I have”

Please give me a concrete answer in 1 sentence with a valid reason why it should be changed the way you want it to.

It’s like wanting to remove the acquisition of ascended weapons after I finally got mine.

Even if you’re consciously aware that legendaries don’t really have any prestige attached to them, the initial impulse when you see someone using one is kinda like _"Ah, this guy thinks he’s hot kitten, I’ll show him what’s what!"

Need help on WvW roaming build

Use CC. After getting out of stealth they can’t enter it again for a few seconds, but they can still dodge and they will. Try to predict where the thief is going and instantly use hard CC (Drakehound, Spiders, Stone Spirit etc.) That’s what’s helping me the most against a Thief.

If you don’t mind a not working pet AI and thus lack of damage etc. you can take the Ranger.

Mesmers and Rangers are good duelling classes for roaming and both can give nice buffs/utilities for their zerg/party.

You won’t be “allowed” to stick to bows unless you’re something like a full zerker longbow ranger standing in the backline.

The best tip I can give you is at least going to the heart of mists with both classes and just trying them.

Leveling abilities are not representive for lategame content.

Nobody is forced to. If you want something special you have to invest something. I know people doing all dailys everyday – most of them don’ even need 2 hours. Some enjoy it, others make it for the sake of the points. If you don’t want to grind 2+ hours a day – simply don’t.

As long as you’re not struck you won’t get movement penalty. Just dodgeroll when a mob sticks to your feet.

It could be this bug due to your camera… happens a lot that I dodge away from somebody, rotate my camera to see how far he’s behind me, use another dodgeroll or LR to create a bigger gap and jump back to the enemy…

When I first started the game I instantly picked a ranger. When I saw the tratitlines, I thought at first that the bonus in the beast mastery line – pet attribute bonus – shares up to 30% of your stats with the pet. Man I was so wrong and when I realised that you just push their 4 main attributes up to 300 I was kinda kitten ed off xD

If a ranger is played right he can even out dps a warrior with the pet together, unfortunately this only goes for melee. Frost spirit, spotter and healing spring supports the group nice. People just don’t get/know it because of the high amount of bearbow rangers… sigh

Depends on your gear, as a full zerker or mix’n’mash with offensive stats while leveling it’s gonna be hard. In downscaled areas it’s no problem at all, even with full offensive stats.

Furthermore:
Damage ~= wpn_atk * power * skl_coef / trgt_def

And remember that your kits preserve your weapon stats, but have their own wpn_atk (and wpn_def).

Kits and other bundles do not reflect your weapon values if you have ascended or legendary equipped. They max out at exotic damage. It’s been a severe issue for a while now.

They have their own wpn_atk value. It’s incomparable to master, rare, exotic or ascended.
But it’s true that engineers (conj ele, phant mesmers) only benefit half bonus from ascended weapons from what other power based classes do.
(+ 14% for power, + 9% for power/non-atk; + 4~5% for condition)

I think they drop in WvW instead of the loot being on the body because otherwise if you killed a player and they ressurected at a waypoint before you got your loot you’d loose it.

Would be garbage if you had to search the battlefield for loot bags after a fight when playing in the back-line.

You don’t shoot with both weapons, just with one. You get the boni (e.g. power or precision) for your attacks, but the weapon strength is only added for the pistol you are shooting with, skills 1-3 are main-hand, skills 4 and 5 are off-hand. Even the auto-attack (skill 1) only uses your main-hand weapon.

Yes splitblade pierces, but who’s running condition builds in dungeons? And when you’re facing 6 enemys to make it better than a normal AoE, you’re most commonly dead.

Hello my fellow rangers,

Well, the axe should be a hybrid weapon, right? Too bad it’s just “viable” as a condition weapon right now and only taken as a power weapon because 1. The player doesn’t like sword, or 2. The player wants a one-handed ranged weapon.

I got an idea to rework at least the second attack (splitblade) to make it better for both options and now viable for power builds.

I attached a (kinda crappy) chart about the stacks of bleeding and the power based damage of this attack, also the range. Right now, you get more bleeds the closer you are to your target – high risk high reward. I would like to keep it that way. The big problem is the spreading of the blades (it has the same range as the auto-attack). If all blades hit, it’s the same damage as 1 auto-attack, 1 axe deals damage equal to 1/5 of an auto-attack… why even using it in a power build?

My Idea is to reduce splitblades range to 600 from 900, but make a real AoE around the player. I guess it would look cooler to make the animation earth spike based, like the sigil of geomany, we can summon springs and make the terrain muddy, so why not creating earthern spikes (The name would has to be changed then). I think throwing hundred axes to all sides would look weird

Now the reason behind it:

-Condition: It’s still high risk high reward, more stacks of bleeding the closer you are to the target.

-Power: This is going to be something like high skill high reward, we should really get some kind of damage for the axe. The further away the target is the more damage will be dealt. The damage of 1 auto-attack at it’s nearest spot up to the damage of 3 autoattacks at the furthest point. So you have to decide if you want to try to hit your enemy at the furthest spot (where you could also miss if done wrong) or close a little gap to get some less damage but increase the chance of actually hitting. The AoE has a hit cap of 5 targets.

Could be that I’ve forgotten to write something I wanted, hmmm…

Anyway, what do you guys think?

As far as I know, a chanelled spell can be activated while the target is out of range and still works when we get in range in time. So why is it the case that we start chanelling a spell onto a target, this target sidesteps and leaves the angle in which the spell works, even if we face the target again before the cast time is through the spells goes on a 3 sec cd? I especially experienced it with the ranger’s second spell (splitblade) and it’s very annoying when this happens 5 times in a row, just because the target runs around you. You won’t even get rewarded for reacting fast and instantly heading to the target. Is it intended or a bug? It happens the most times with cone-spells.

Yep, normally, when you use an spell with casttime on a target and run out of, lets say, range etc. the cast only stops when it should resolve and the target can’t be hit – otherwise it hits even if the target is half of the cast time not in range. But when using splitblades the attack automatically cancels when the target is “lost”… I guess it shouldn’t be. I see it when the target runs out of the angle beside me. It doesn’t matter how fast I turn to my target – even when I’m facing my target when the attack resolves it goes on a 3 sec cd instead of hitting. I’m gonna put it into the bug section – just wantd to make sure if it’s just me or I’m not getting something.

If we’re good in just 1 thing it’s going to get nerfed while the rest of the options stay underpowered. They are only acting like “well, they complain about not enough damage, lets give them 10% more damage for 1 skill”.

Best example: Storm Spirit active: Taken because of the damage even with a condition build. They say it’s unbalanced/op to get this damage without aiming for power. What would be the best solution? Right – Lower the base damage and let it scale with power. What does ANet do? Right – Reduce the damage. gg wp.

Well, I’m running with wasd and facing directions with my mouse while the right mouse button is pressed down, otherwise I can’t follow targets. Releasing the mouse button feels weird and doesn’t help at all – but thanks for the idea. I think it always goes on cd or misses because most of the enemys try getting behind me, and in melee it goes so fast that the enemy is already standing in an angle where the cone doesn’t hit. Am I the only one with this problem?
