I think it is solely there to reveal us when using traps to restrict our Stealth usage, Thief traps are different because they are more into the whole stealth thing. But that is absurd, all traps should have damage on them to reveal, else you can end up running things like this and fight people in stealth, without any weapons or ever dealing direct damage to them.

Exactly the same thing I was thinking about it and made a post in the thief forum to kitten with them a bit, you know, just for the lulz, feel free to tell them how op those traps are aswell, the more the better, huehuehue.

I don’t understand why you’re asking for the stealth focused class to have less stealth, even though it doesn’t make enough of a difference to actually kill you.
Stealth should be a defensive mechanism, not something you stay in 24/7.
i think you’re mistaking thieves with condi mesmers. thieves have to get out of stealth before they can do anything to you.
The Astral Force bar displays incorrectly. At 50% AF (20 self-heal ticks) it appears 2/3 full and reaches the second mark. It takes another 20 self-heal ticks to fill the remaining 1/3.
Reproduction steps: Equip TU, stow pet, and cast TU twice. The bar will fill 2/3. Two more TU casts are required to fill the remaining 1/3.
Ancestral Grace does not grant any AF, whether it hits a full health or injured ally.
Possibly unintended, but outgoing heal ticks seem to grant twice as much AF as self-heal ticks. Example: one TU cast with pet stowed will give you 25% AF. With pet out, it will give you 75%.
Signet of Stone: Reduce duration to 5 seconds but add resistance for 5 seconds aswell or get rid of all conditions.
In my opinion, Signet of Renewal doesn’t work properly. It may work as a condi cleanse for the whole group, but with the problems (pet dead, pet out of range) it doesn’t work good as a reliable source of cleanse and if you can’t swap instantly, it’s in 95% of the cases the death sentence to your pet. I can afford tributing my pet for my whole group but solo, it’s too much of a trade-off.
Empathic Bond: Cleanse 3 conditions every 10 seconds from you AND your pet.
Same would go for Shared Anguish. Why do we need to sacrifice our classmechanic to get celanses/stunbreaks? These traits should enhance us and our pets and not cripple our gameplay by killing our classmechanic and not even working when our pets are dead. Our pets can get condibombed by AoEs easily but we have kinda no way to cleanse our pets but hitting f4.
Peace Out.

I don’t get killed. It’s just the fact that one following you over half the map is totally annoying.
Y call it a fix?! As soon as ur 20 damage is added to the traps, no thief will Play with traps anymore and then ur “fix” is an build killer leaving us with D/P once more…
Awww… then remove the damage from ranger traps aswell. Not being able to throw them anymore destroyed our trapper builds aswell. Im soooooooo sorry that could happen to you aswell. Not.
Add damage to traps. 20 would be enough. Just to reveal the thief when you run in in one of his traps while he just condibombs you while in stealth. The other classes using traps have to deal with the same thing, thieves shouldn’t get a greencard for that.
So….what….one build that is viable now and fun to play, and hard as hell…You want that nerfed too? So… No pistol/pistol, all other crap builds and one meta, D/P, and now people are playing stealth trapper, 2nd build that is remotely good in WvW and nowhere else….That should be also nerfed and should not exist.
Very nice of you. Nerf thief to the ground, more and more! Why not, NERF NERF NERF. Don’t worry, it will be nerfed.
I am sick of crying about thief has ANYTHING. Not EVERYTHING, it has SOMETHING!, NERF IT!
….
Call it a fix.

Hi there,
so since some days my FPS dropped insanely low. Sometimes restarting GW2/PC works but not anymore, does anyone have an idea why this could be happening?
wait till TU is over while dealing damage = bar full = hop into avatar = keep healing = bar drains = out of avatar = TU ready again = lel
I haven’t been able to play but I was watching some streaming and staff 1 was filling up CAF very decently just by itself if you line it up through your pet. I can only imagine that if you heal multiple allies CAF will fill very quickly.
That makes this the only profession mechanic in the game which requires a specific weapon to work properly. This is not a good thing. If someone doesn’t want to use staff, there is no reason at all (at this point) for them to go Druid, as far as I can tell.
I run A/x + LB and I just hope that Axe and Longbow 2 in combination with TU will fill it up enough. Don’t have HoT yet but the hopes… the hopes are real,
was afraid it’s gonna be like this. Well, crap… Here you go full condi clear every 10 or so seconds…
simply remove that trait. Rather have ability to go Form than a full condition clear.
Make it clear 2 conditions instead of all of them, and put avatar form on a 10 second cooldown ala death shroud. Then we can enter it whenever we have >10% celestial whatever….right?
Edit: better yet, make it convert those conditions to boons.
3 and I’m in. Controlable Empathic Bond that doesn’t kill your pet.
How about TU? 2.5% per tick on you and your pet = 50% ?
was afraid it’s gonna be like this. Well, crap… Here you go full condi clear every 10 or so seconds…
But WH 5 buff… condi dmg on pets… I really appreciate that.
hey atleast they didn’t screw up MDG they made it worth while but again because of HaO we gain might under 50% hp pet gains 3 stacks for 10seconds each 3seconds it will quickly max out pet while you are under 50% hp then use HaO and gain atleast 15 back for 10seconds.
You can only get back 3 stacks might for 10 seconds flat now.
Still not used to it?
Fixing things that give us an advantage = 1-2 days
Fixing things that give us a disadvantage = 3-7 days
Stop crying because of the We Heal As One Nerf/Fix.
Just think about it.
Where was it used the most?
1. Bursting down people in WvW/PvP
2. PvE
What if I told you…
You can still get huge amounts of might/quickness by traiting for it with for example signets. WHAO was primaly used to stack might/quickness pre-fight and burst down people quickly. The thing is that you could always do that and you can still do it. You can get easily 20-25 stacks might and 10 seconds quickness but nobody did it. PvE content is so easy that you don’t need it to be effective (open world is a joke and in a dungeon group you get the stacks either way). It’s just barely used in PvP/WvW for 1 reason: 1 trick pony. You use all your defensive skills to get the damage and if they enemy doesn’t die or even reflect you have to either diesengage or you die. But the might stacking build via WHAO is exactly the same. You blow off everything for the damage. Yes, it’s funny to see people drop like flies but that’s it. You can’t even make use of WHAO while fighting properly because it’s so unrealiable in a serious fight where you could mess up a rotation by 1 click/spell because you need it in exactly that second. You use your heal for the damage while you’re at full hp… pop it too late and half your mightstacks only last 3 seconds.
My fellow rangers – we will stand, we will fight and we won’t falter.
We can still burst people down that easy and making use of WHAO to buff our damage is the same thing as popping SoS for 3 stacks of might. Put your tissues away and man the kitten up.
Quick question, maybe I overread it somewhere.
Do we need a full bar to enter our astral form?
It’s kinda the first time that we see it and it feels so good :P
That would be so aweseome. When you enter astral form they kinda “fly” to you while transforming into wisps in different colours that circle you. Their passives radius is calculated around you, same goes for the actives for which you are the center. When astral form ends, the active effect resolves and if you’re in range of the former position they return there and if you’re out of range they spawn next to you.
hey quick, if you’re up for a duel (playing on Abaddon’s Mouth) send me a ingame message. We can do it in PvP or, if it’s possible, in WvW. Im always up for a challenge.
I already made a lot of streamers cry over my cele build :P I could be available next tuesday evening.

Why isn’t taunt being tied to the enemies that would actually be hit?
AoE for AoE-F2, single-target for single-target-F2 and the range of the actual attack/effect. Jungle-Spider + Taunt 10/10
I still want to know what happens when you use the Fire Wyverns F2 while having taunt traited…
Playing LB – S/T//A/D cele ranger for over one and ahalf a years now – works very well for my gf and me.
(edited by Shirk.6421)
Just to point something out about the smokescale. Look at when the taunt goes off and how long it takes for the AoE to actually resolve. Seems to be longer than the wolf’s fear etc.
Fire wyvern f2 + taunt trait? What’s gonna happen?
And I guess the DMG of the smokescale shadowstep-thing will be nerved hard. Almost 10k without crits.
So, I guess almost everyone takes Wilderness Survival for the condi clear, no matter if power- or condi-specced. I’m speaking about PvP/Roaming. Does the Druid traitline give us enough condi clear to drop WS? I feel yes. With clearing all conditions when entering the avatar form, the exploding blossom in avatar form and if you take glyphs the glyph-trait in the master tier. So we would actually have an active way to cleanse condis that doesn’t require us to waste our utilities even if we don’t need them? I actually have the feeling that the condi clear when entering avatar form and the clear by seeds of life could be enough to deal with condis if we can hop into avatar to cleanse, stay some seconds to heal, leave it and keep fighting. CD of the avatar form was 10 seconds, right? Then even hopping in avatar form every 10 seconds and leaving it instantly would give us better and more reliable condi clear than emathic bond while not killing our pets aswell.
Im thinking about it the whole time already and can’t sleep. How to make the most annoying 1v1 druid that actually has good dmg-potential. Broooooo… those heals… this is gun b gud. It seems so op on paper. Imaging a Ranger that can just kinda “water-attunement” out of difficult situations.
Maybe like this:
Full Apothecary
WS: Oakheart Salve – Ambidexterity – Empathic Bond/Wilderness Knowledge
BM: Resounding Timbre – Wilting Strike – Beastly Warden
Druid: Primal Echoes/Druidic Clarity – Verdant Etching – Ancient Seeds
Heal as One – Lightning Reflexes – Glyph of Tides – Glyph of Equality – Glyph of Unity/Entangle
Axe/Dagger + Staff
Rune of Melandru
Maybe double birds
Sigil of Energy/Sigil of Leeching on both weaponsets

The more I think about it the crazier it gets^^
Or the grandmaster root trait… It just seems like a real heal class kinda destroys the whole anti-trinity-system. As much as I’m hyped – from what I see right now – it feels like a step in the wrong direction.
Hey guys,
what do you think of the druid in the following situations?
In PvP he could be a kitten good mid-support (imagine a druid and a bunker guard lol).
I really don’t know what to think about it in 1v1 situations. Are all the heals too strong? Imagine WS/BM/Druid as an apothercary condi build… I have no idea what to expect.
What do you think?
I guess you’re running LB/GS? S/D is our best positioning weaponset, the poison also cuts their healing signet. The most important thing is dodging in the right moment. Warriors have very obvious animations. DON’T dodge randomly. You need to use the dodges for eviscerates, hundred blades, shield stun and the 5 on their GS, which also deals quite a lot of damage. When I play against warriors maybe 1 of 10 eviscerates actually hit me. Make use of their animations. This is actually a quite old video of my gameplay where I am actually dodging randomly (shame on me) but just watch a bit and see how much damage you can avoid by dodging in the right moment. https://youtu.be/HBZ9Z1qVYg0?t=10m39s Maybe it helps a little bit^^

The f5 is exactly what I wished for so long on rangers…. and we can’t even F2 our pet witout canceling Sick ’em. GG ANet.
I shoot bows bare since I’m 3 years old, I’m 22 now. I shoot bows with a drawweight of 100 pounds without any technical help, no pulley, no release, effectively. Some weeks ago I trained some highland-game guys to shoot a bow. Muscle loaded Bulls. But guess what – they couldn’t handle 50 pounds of drawweight because the muscles they would need were weak. You want realism? Now you need 10 years to be allowed to use lvl 80 bows. Are you satisfied yet?
And now try hitting a moving target which is 70 yards away while moving on your own shooting on arrow every second. No modern kittenbows, take a stick and a string, If you make me a video doing this and hitting 90/100 times I personally visit ANet and change it for you.
WHY THE HELL WON’T PEOPLE GET THAT IT’S A FREAKING GAME THAT HAS TO BE MORE OR LESS BALANCED.
And btw, most composite-shortbows shot a lot farther than longbows.Heavy Longbows were commonly more powerful and had more penetrating power, yes, but because of physics (arrow paradox) the arrows had to be fitted to the bow, the tips were heavier and this reduced the traveled distance. Also warbows/english longbows were almost exclusively used in big battles and sieges, not to hit single targets. The warbow shouldn’t even travel that long in a siege, you wanted to shoot over the walls so that the arrows hit inside the walls, not behind the whole castle. Shortbows were used to hit single targets much more, killing people one after another from a horseback, not shooting in a whole mass. OP has clearly no idea about the historical usage of bows.

I eat cele D/D eles with my cele ranger
The warrior in your first video is my former guild leader. Too bad he never beat me, no matter the build he tried. He is actually the biggest flamer I know. GJ btw.
if you’re interested, here’s the fight I lost: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkA0BB-HErI&feature=youtu.be&t=49m29s
My wins against cele ele and cele engi should be somewhere there, too.
Torunament is over, took the second place
The only one I lost against was a s/d thief who los’d me 90% of the time at Niflhel. Was a very, very close thing, tho.
Tyvm guys. Hepa, the date was already overdue last week – I heard about it in the last second and luckily got accepted. Would’ve been alot of fun with you
Well I’m participating as a ranger in a german community 1v1 event and I’m already in the top 5 – today are the finals, wish me luck to take the first place.
look at winter’s bite, also 1 second now, forget about actually using it infight properly…
Also trapes now take A LOT longer to activate/throw
Sooo… Winter’s Bite now has an activation time of 1 second? Seriously ANet?
I’m not sure what you mean by a rollback? Did you receive an account rollback for some reason?
There was a problem awhile back of accounts losing a few minutes when DCing. I bought a Black Lion weapon skin from the vendor, applied it, and then DCd. When I logged back, the skin was gone and the ticket was back in my bank. It was a 2 or 3 weeks back and supposedly fixed but possibly that’s what happened to him.
That’s exactly what I’m mean when writing rollback, thank you.
As I said, after the disconnect everything I achived for some seconds before the dc occured was gone. I could even see it at my exp-bar, the salamander drake I killed a second before the dc happened wasn’t counted in when I logged back in.
