It would totally break the game… and make your server even lose more because half of the WvW players would run around passive not helping and the other half would face the whole enemy WvW population.
Before we get something exotic like a Labrador or a Persian we would be happy with already existing animals like the bunch of different types of raptors or griffins.
In this time I apply about 15 stacks of bleed, 10 seconds burn, 15 seconds posion, 10 seconds weakness and 4 seconds chill. The most time he just gets revealed downed 10 meters away.
The only problem I see is the fact that the handle is attached to the blade instead of being full-tang. But it’s looking great and I don’t think anybody is going to fight with this beast of a sword, so it doesn’t really matter
Just roll a warrior if you don’t want to put much effort into the playstyle of a class and instantly roflstomp. They are welcome in dungeons zergs and can also roam very effectivly. Also nice mobility and if you play hammer/longbow you’re gonna lock the crap out of people. I actually don’t feel they are simillar to guardians, just give it a try if you want.
bleeding stacks in itensity and burning in duration.
If you hit your foe’s back with the shortbow, while sharpening stone is active, sharpened edges traitet (and procs) and the shortbow has the sigil of earth (and procs) you’ll apply 4 stacks of bleeding with 1 shot.
If your torch 4 skill applies 6 seconds of burning (just an example) and the sun spirit 3 seconds, the 3 seconds will be added to the duration, meaning 9 seconds of burning.
Its not so much that Precision goes well with Condtion damage is that Precision is needed in virtually any build that is not PTV or Dire. Other stat combinations lack the survivability and offensive utility and have to make up for it with crit procs.
Well, dire also provides crit as ascended. Got about 4% crit from it. As a bunker with now 8% crit and 28% with fury, a sigil (like the earth one, 60% chance to add bleed on crit) doesn’t really help. But I don’t really care about this mini amount of crit anyway.

if these are the (2)boni from 3 different sets -yes.
I play a spirit ranger and a well timed Drakeheound immobilize, a following Stone Spirit immobilize followed up with a Wolfs fear or Spiders immobilize, whatever is prefered, works wonders.
The solution I see to that is make the pet trigger the attack only if the target is at around 30~50% of the attack radius (those numbers may be tweaked), for example if an attack have a reach of 120 then the pet only attack if the target is at 35~60 of distance, so if the target moves there is a bigger chance of that attack actually land.
This seems like a really great idea to implement and test. I’ve also noticed that the pet seems to start it’s attack sequence as soon as it’s in range (really noticeable with leaping attacks).
nice idea
Hmmpf, didn’t know they can’t change targets, ty then. Can be closed^^
Read some other topics in the ranger section and learn handling the ranger properly, being a successful ranger needs a lot of work but it works. Today I took about 10 supply camps on my own, killed 30 players without dying one time and defended the northern supply camp against 5 people the whole time with the help of an ele.. until the zerk arrived
Edit: Hav to agree with Overthrust about being forced to trait heavily for everything.

Stick to melee weapons in Dungeons etc, take the frost spirit (even untraited) and, yes, keep spotter. I’d also take RaO instead of Entangle.
So, I had to create a mesmer to finish hint 83/83 and realised that the mesmers clones or what you call them have a 10 times better AI than our pets. If I use F1-F4 they instantly stop attacking, run to my target and explode. Why can’t our pets get this kind of AI? Stop trating them as environmental creatures, ANet
I want more deluxe version elites like mistfire wolf. could be mistfire unicorn
^THIS^
I would even get a dreamer for the sake of it
Yeh, why not, the only disadvantage is that it’s gonna make me sad seing it at some of my chars
Some were already suggested but here is a list of some things I would love being impelemented:
-boon- and condition-bar being movable
-being able to dye at least backpieces
-character-specific keybinds
-better search options at the TP, like filtering for light, medium and heavy armour, price ranges and stat-combinations
-being able to go into queue for all WvW-maps at the same time when all 4 are full. (random, 1st free place)
-additional bar for consumable items, minis, etc.
I guess I’ve forgotten something but I’ll add it later if I hit on it again.
Thank you guys very much… well, I have to admit… an over 2 years old april fool’s joke got me ._.
Should check the wiki next time before asking such stuff
Well, I’m one of these farmers and farm stuff and sell it at the TP instead of following the champ train. My favourite thing to do is farming in WvW while solo roaming and taking camps. I don’t really see a problem… Someone who wants the stuff without farming can buy it, I have fun while making some money, and, yeah, where the hell is your problem? If you don’t want to pay for it go and farm it yourself. Nobody is forcing you. I think it would be a pain in the kitten for many people being forced to farm on their own. (That’s one of the big problem players have with ascended stuff, acc-bound). I don’t want legendarys or ascended stuff, I love my makeshift set so I’ll keep it. The mats are an income that covers my repair and nourishment costs. I guess there are some players like me, we’re doing nothing wrong, we’re helping the econocmis
Am I just uninformed or is the “Commando” an abadoned class concept? Or just something related to an event or w/e because the choppers are looking too realistic^^ I’m asking because I found 2 wallpapers on the official GW2-hp. Help is very apreciated.
Playing a dire spirit ranger solo roaming. Enemys that i hate are confusion mesmers (20 stacks in 2 secs trololol), engis (some builds are kinda easy to own), good condi necros and some very well played 100% blind/stealth uptime thiefes. Rest depends on the player, I own 95% of power builds, losing against the left 5% is my own fault. Some builds are annoying but can’t get me down (like some healing ele or guardian builds).
Depends more on the build than the class.
Just my 2 cents here:
I think the “problem” with the ranger class is that people palying ranger and complaining about the class aren’t willed to learn and think about what they did wrong, and why they got killed. It’s easyer to flame other classes instead, ofc.
I had many situations in the last week after being unsure if I should still main my ranger. (mostly PvP and WvW). I had situations where I wanted to throw my keyboard out of the closed window. The best thing here is calming down and reflecting on what exactly happened. Some examples. I fought a pistol/? thief who used dagger storm. That’s what I knew at this point: It has stability and makes me pew pew bleed, so what did I do? Exactly… I threw my whole burst onto him… and guess what happened. I suddenly had 15 stacks of bleeding up on myself while crying about how op this spell is. Then I created a thief in PvP to look what numbers I get with this ulti and realized… it reflects projectiles – gg wp, I’m an idiot. The next days I fought a couple of thiefs (backstabbers, regen, pistols, just everything) and what happened? I won all of them. I play a spirit axe/dagger + shortbow build with dire gear and I’m not even fully equiped and just bought nourishments right now, running Drakehound and Wolf. The most important thing is to know how the enemy class works, especially when playing a ranger. And it’s a ton of fun when the enemy thief who just got imobilized by my dog, eats my full condi burst and stealths away with 15 stacks of bleeds and burning while he is half hp and then suddenly gets revealed downed 15 meters away – exquisite feeling. The same happened with mesmers and engis. I fought a mesmer with his 20 confusion stacks, I was almost down even after I popped everything, ran back to my tower with under 2k hp, got full hp again and went out with my Spirit of Nature on cd. He also reged full and was waiting for me. And what happened? I got him. In the first fight I just spammed everything I got on just everything I saw – mostly his clones, and lost because of being too stressed. In the second fight, I kept my head cool, startet thinking and downed him, well, kinda easily. And whats the morale of the story? Learn not only about the ranger class but about every class. Stay cool in a fight and reflect what happened afterwards. Go in a fight with motivation and feel good after winning one, you’re allowed – almost more than every other class. If you lose, even often in a row, don’t give in. Learn from your mistakes and next time you’ll do better.

Yes they have, just tried it :P
The number you see on Rapid Fire at the end is the total damage over the whole channel and not an individual hit. So 2k damage over a full channel isn’t all that much. Are you sure they aren’t using a heal skill?
He said that its 10 hits at 600-2k per hit, not the total. Thats consistent with what I see. I doubt anyone can regen 1.2-4k a second so I dont know, something not right here.
Oh, is that so? ;D
I don’t even know where the problem at destroying these vines is… if you’re melee, just spam 1, lol. What would you say if the vines would get a similar effect like Sick ’em?
So nobody could just stealth out.
Ye, I guees making a new ranger for charming a pet at lvl 2 is the best solution if you have a free char slot left, doesn’t take 15 mins and I hope it’s gonna work.
I love cc pets a lot more than “obvious meta DPS :P” pets – in every ranger build, at least their cc works better than a cats dps while attacking a moving target
The only problem I see here is not enough condition cleanse, but the most guys in zergs rely on power anyway. Stats are already looking very nice. Btw, the sigils of battle and energy won’t work together.
Maybe obtained using karma n’ stuff?
I don’t know if it would fit, but how about a smoke field? This way we get a chance of stealth without being forced to run a power build. It would even make kinda sense, the spikes are shot out of the ground, maybe with the help of, I don’t know, a little bursting charge that also creates the smoke?
Report it in the bug section.
It’s the spear with the shark animation on crit, right?
There is no amount of health you can give to a pet that will allow it to survive dodge-or-die boss mechanics and not break every other facet of the game because the pet is now nigh-immortal.
Big Bucket of Hit Points™ is not a viable solution.
But the poor IA on the pet, is difficult for him to reach a target in movement so more health should help…
No. A finally fixed pet AI which doesn’t have to wait so long for a server response helps.
So why the heck do we need to work so hard for an – elite skill – to be on par again?
Welcome to the ranger class.
I am glad to see these changes. It will create a new 1v1 unbeatable Monster called Spirit-BM ranger(0/0/30/20/20 build) if my guess is not wrong. I didn’t see any chance other classes stand a single chance against such ranger after patch, it’s basically unkillable.
However, ranger is never weak in 1v1 (actually already pretty strong now), this is only making the strong stronger and most likely strongest, it will break the 1v1 balance.
And what ranger lacks (group/support ability) is still lacking badly……Is this a right direction?
I also wanted to do something like that.
0/0/30/30/10:
Spirits Unbound as master and Nature’s Voice as grandmaster trait.
Troll Unguent + Regeneration + Spirit of Nature = 1.8k heal/second with ease, gg wp.
Thank you.
I agree entirely. I very much want the ability to straight up remove spell effects in this game. They ware way too obnoxious, and I’m not okay with screwing up gameplay for the sake of some pretty bs we’ve all seen thousands of times before.
People have been asking for this for a long time. What’s the hold up, here. It’s a simple slider/option.
The “Limit Effect LOD” does NOTHING.
^this
Not before they fixed tab targeting.
I’m not going to stop running to select the foe I need. (speaking about PvP)
You can also bind all your skills to reach them with ease from WASD. (like Q,E,R).
Engineers explosions… godkitten , how I hate them in PvP/WvW, even in my team :<
Every action should break stealth imo.
Then melee weapons like hammer for engineer as well. Also ranger = using ranged weapons. Not necessarily something about nature and stuff only. A lot of other games don’t even have pets for rangers(at last not permanently deployed).
Godkitten , no xD Ranger has nothing to do with a weapons range!
I actually think the rifle wouldn’t fit because it’s mainly a hunting weapon/weapon of war, where a pistol (main- or offhand, maybe both?) would work because it’s more a self defense weapon, an ace in the hole when a ranger encounters somebody who has to be taken out because… well… he just stomped his… rosarium… maybe.
But I still think a staff as a kinda druidic power weapon and spears (usable on land this time please…) as melee condition weapons maybe would fit way better.
We have to get the difference between a fantasy ranger and a fantasy hunter (like in WoW).
(edited by Shirk.6421)
Just give us a mainhand dagger with a crippling autoattack and we have the sword for the rangers who want to keep it and a dagger for the rest.
It’s just too weird that the cooldowns aren’t sigil specific.
If you hate the pet mechanic so much, quit playing the ranger class.
You buy a car for 50.000$, the salesman promises you it will hit the 140mp/h, has electric windows and a high-end stereo system. But It doesn’t, it only hits the 100mp/h, you have to crank to open the windows and the high-end stereo system is a cassette player. You come back to tell him either that something is wrong with the car or he scamed you. He just tells you everything is right and if you’re not satisfied just buy a new one.

Maybe you have another on-swap sigil attached to another weapon in the same set? Could even bug with an extra on-crit sigil due to the cd.
Nothing wrong with rezzing, stomping/finishing someone while in stealth. If they are applying burning while they are in stealth and not being revield, that is probably a bug since it is an attack from stealth hitting someone and that should apply a revieled. If they are not hitting anthing when blasting, they should not be removed from stealth.
I’m speaking about that they should be revealed by burning, cmo’n they are on flames…
Yeah so that Guardians, Warriors and Eles are immune to Thieves due to having access to burning without requiring a target.
*Burning applied while not in stealth prohibites the thief to enter stealth
better?

A free coffin with every axe-strike to your head.
Yes, I’am and yes, it’s a qq thread.
Something has to be done with stealth, It can’t be that someone in stealth can ress/stomp (also get rid of this mesmer “start stomping, port away, port back – stomp” crap) /dish out dozens of blast finishers to heal full without being “noticed”.
This stuff should break the stun:
-Applied Burning
-Ressing
-Stomping
-Finishers
ANet wanted to enable counterplay to stealth, too bad that it’s just utter crap, 4 seconds of reveal on a 40/32 second cd from a class which isn’t even able to burst down a squishy thief when full zerker geared in this 4 seconds.
Write L2P, I dare you, I double dare you.
If they would atleast fix the rangers bugs/bad designed mechanics (like our pets…) I would be as happy as a lemming on acid.
