Was fighting 10 guys one after another and paid attention – yup, 1 sidestep and it goes on a 3 sec cd (what is more than the half of it’s actual cd) instead of the animation following the enemy. Missed about 7/10 splitblades, not even point-blank. If it just goes straight ahead atleast give us something like a movable cone AoE indicator.
So… you know, axe 2 – splitblade. This kitten thing cancels automatically when an enemy sidesteps. Wow great. A thief or mesmer can start a stomp, port a mile away, port back meanwhile and finish the stomp there but our spells cancel when our enemy just steps to the side? great…
Why the hell can’t our chars rotate while being immobilized?
Well, the charge of the porcis is very nice, also the effect of the F2, but it’s a pain in the kitten that you have to pick it up to use it.
I’m not sure I understand. You’re suggesting that if you cast multiple summoning spells in a row, they skip the cast time and all appear when the first one finishes?
Sorry if that’s not what you meant, but that’s the impression I got.
I guess that’s what I meant.
@coglin: These 3 were just examples.
There’s already a +1 function, but you don’t see how often it was clicked, lol.
Looks like fun:
Better: WoW (Hunters) 95% ranged combat until MoP, from there on 100% ranged combat, working and useful pets and the feeling of your pet being individual because of traits not only for pets, but also pets having their own traits. And nice dps…
Worse: 4Story (Archers) Can be played ranged and melee as far as I know, but because of the crappy graphis and pets being only available to this weird necro-like summoner class I stopped playing at lvl 10.
You’re a freakin’ genius.
Hei there,
I’m speaking about ultilites summoning stuff, you know what I’m talking about, like the guardian’s spirit weapons, necro’s minions or ranger’s spirits. For me it’s a pain in the kitten to waste up to 5 seconds when being forced into a fight (like in WvW) while this big-kitten greatsword is already searching it’s way to my head. So what about following idea: You summon, for example, a ranger’s spirit. Now you would have to summon everyone of them for their own. But what if we, while summoning one, could just press the hotkeys (or do it with the mouse…) to put all of these into a queue, when the , in this case spirit, is finally summoned, all other spirits i activated while this one is being summoned, will also be summoned? What do you folks think?
the daze on wail of doom only removes a defiant stack but no interupt, same with fear and the fear mark.
Please read this, thanks.
Well, the eagle and hawk don’t deal damage at all with the bleed because they have (even traited) about no condition damage (unless they get their might stacks). And the lynx for example also mostly misses with the leap, like the most canines. And a moa’s or drake’s F2 is avoidable way too easy.
We should be able to use the porcis F2 like a thief’s steal ability if we want so.
I’m not arrogant but confident to happily myself say I have no l2p issues having taken the hard path for rangers, and yet having found great success in it.
Welcome to the club.
No, honestly, mastering the ranger is (imo next to the ele) the hardest work with a lot of effort. I wouldn’t say I mastered him, but 50 win streaks in the colosseum should speak for itself. The biggest issue I have with the ranger is – as you said – the poor pet AI, I always try to time my hard hitting skills in a way that my pet actually provides help, with immobilizes for example. I kinda know when my dog’s or wolf’s knock-down is ready, pay attention and try to time my attacks. But the stupidity of the pet and the F2 ability just grinds my gears. The other thing is the design of some wapons, not only speaking about the sword’s rooting. The axe for example: It’s a ranged hybrid weapon. Doesn’t deal decent damage at all when facing a single enemy and, as a condition weapon, – despite the fact that it’s a ranged weapon – only works fine when you go into melee. You try to let him eat a point-blank splitblade but then the moving enemy just side-steps out of the cone. I often find myself staying at melee range just to make sure that my pet hits… that’s kinda sad for a class with so much potential. Same goes for the shortbow, not only it’s poison fan but also if it’s a power or condition weapon. It has better dps than the longbow in kinda close combat, but is our one and only two-handed condition weapon. But then you try to get some bleed stacks on your target in PvP or WvW but because every class can just facehug you, you have no chance (except for bleeds on crits) to apply the bleeds, again poor designed imo. I don’t even want to start about decent power builds or condition cleansing again…
What I think is more funny than this is when you run, activate mighty roar, your pet starts it and while it resolves you’re already out of range.
Well designed ANet, well designed
Mel, this is the best fitting signature for a forum-input i read so far.
(E)mpathic Bon(d)
Because otherwise i’d behead myself because of Perplexity runes.
I could see them adding a new race that goes with the dragon they release.
Tengu- Primorious
Skritt- Mordremoth
Ogre- Kralkatorik
Kodan- Jormag
Largos- BubblesMyabe thats the reason why its taking them so long with the new dragon is casue they will release a new race with it.
If it’d be like this I could also say that Half Life 3 is confirmed.
Ranger’s aren’t bad, we do have some very nasty builds..
But still not fixed.
Rofl, Logan face looks so idk, weirded out xD
He stated he just got into it… let him make some progress.
Well, BM/Spirit Rangers are also kinda free food.
they just pown all your builds…
Only if you can’t play.
Really, anything you’re saying is utterly wrong… you can’t remove a Necro’s condis…

Dear OP, just look at utilities like these bad boys, would really love to have something like that on my ranger.

WoW, 150+ 1v1s? Really? Well, I got exactly 411 1vX kills on my ranger in about 2 weeks. Believe me, the Necro is a best when specced for 1v1. As I said, please tell us which weapons, equip, traits and ultilities you are using.
Well, if you think ranger would work now, you’re gonna have a bad time…
Would you mind posting your build or at least which weapons/utilities you are using?
I’m really laughing my kitten off right now.
WE GOT GUARANTEED STOMPS!!!
For 5 out of 8 classes.
Kyubi linked his build on a differen thread, but he is referring this to PVE only. His build while it would seem fun in PVE would utterly get destroyed in WvW or PvP.
Keep in mind that not everyone on the forums play WvW or PvP
Dont get us wrong, we’re just wondering about some facts being not soooo.. uhhmm… accurate…
Thanks to all of your for your input, great ideas so far, really appreciate it! I try to duel the Necro again when he’s online, with feedback, ofc. I really have to say – our class is the most broken but our community is the best working one
you wont hit over 10 target per second in pvp.
Huh?
@LughLongArm: Thanks buddy, I’ll give it a try.
@Fluffball: Well, I’m used to spirits now and I really enjoy them, also solo. Yeah the mobility is another story, uuurgh.
Keep in mind your pet direct physical damage is related to power and as such if you realy want to run an actualy pet damaging BM build you should also have power in your build.
New patchnotes or something?
All I see in the OP is
“I had two accounts, I deleted one with everything valuable on it very foolishly, not I am making a forums post, purely for attention…..”With the OP making this thread purely for attention, I question the truth to his OP. It is just as likely that it is false. Either way, this is clearly only an attempt to get attention.
He should’ve made the topic asking for our opinion before doing something being irreversible.
Just make the dailys/monthlys on the account you don’t use and within some time you also have the laurels there. And you don’t need dungeon tokens for exotics… just look into the TP.
It would actually be cool if conditions would be split into 2 different kinds, like damaging and controling conditions. damaging would be bleeding, burning, confusion, etc and controling cripple, chill, immobilize, etc. Instead of a utility cleansing 3 conditions, it would now cleanse 2 damaging and 2 controling conditions. This would kinda prevent getting rid of only “weak” conditions like the 4 seconds left cripple or 2 seconds left weakness and make sure to also get rid of damaging conditions to remove the random cleansing at least a bit.
Hi there,
I really appreciate every help you can give fighting condition Necros. I often roam solo with this build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fMAQNAnYVjAVd1lV+VgWBi2DNZeM5eUKSdqCW1A-jkyAoOBRKAA5JiZyioxWwCSNLslvopkFkVUYK2kKFAM7BA-w. I sometimes swap the shortbow to sword/torch or axe/torch. I know I’m still not full equiped but right now I win 90% of all 1v1 encounters. The hardest class to face is – for me – the Necro right now. I win against most power builds, but it’s hard. Today I faced a s/d+staff Necro and he totally shred me. I melted like butter within 5 seconds. I invited him into my group and did some duelling with him. I didn’t win a single one. He mostly won with about 80% hp. He attacked me, dropped a well, went into deathshroud, feared me, suddenly I lost 1/3 of my hp within 1 second and I was downed. He played mostly rabid and told me his build is “op”.
So can anyone provide me with tactics against condition Necros or is it something a condi ranger can’t win due to utilities like http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Corrupt_Boon, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Plague_Signet, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_spite, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Well_of_Corruption or http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Well_of_Power ?
Please tell me how I can cleanse a Necro’s condition spaming and skills like http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Corrupt_Boon , http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Plague_Signet , http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_spite or http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Well_of_Corruption ?
I also feel like limiting the amount of damaging conditions a single class can apply, with my ranger for example I have access to bleed, poision and burning while other classes can just spam everything and you’re not able to cleanse it.
If you want it, work for it. Period. It’s called Legendary for a reason.
Well, it had to happen sooner or later.
Having asked whether it was possible to merge accounts or transfer toons, or even transfer account bound items paid for with gems, etc and receiving an unequivocal ‘no, and not any time in the future’, I had to make a decision.
Due to the combination of character bound wvw ranks, time gating, ascended items, laurel system etc I took the decision yesterday to concentrate on just one account and mainly one toon, and deleted eight level 80’s in full exotics, wasting 100’s of gold, thousands of gems and losing maybe 150 wvw ranks from those toons.
I left two toons on there as I couldn’t bring myself to lose another 200 wvw ranks as well a huge pile of items, skins – and maybe one day i might want to shift the account to another server for some NA fun as the queues in prime time for Gandara are getting very long and boring.
So this account that I am posting from now is basically dormant, caused entirely by the time gating brought into the game and the bad decisions to make a lot of items account bound that should be tradeable, such as all the ascended stuff, laurels, dungeon tokens, etc etc and of course the wvw ranks system as that is where I like to spend my time.
I don’t get what you want. You decided to get 2 accounts instead of buying more slots. You complain about laurels, dungeon tokens and ascended stuff not being tradeable?
(edited by Moderator)
You can un-transmute them with a stone from gem store.
But please no confirmation boxes and additional are you sure? Are you really sure? Are you absolutely sure about this? questions.
You choose the skin, stats and rune/sigil and then, when you know what you want you clock the Ok.
Simple and effective and unless you are wasted you can’t really make mistakes. Why make it harder than it needs to be?
Right. Just pay attention and double-check.
condition is for pvp
direct dmg for pve
its really that simple
Well I play full dire and can be one-shotted by a good burst ele or warri. So no.
Man that’s not that easy. Devs already said that they don’t want to “fix” the pet AI right now because it’s similar to the AI of enviromental creatures. If our pets follow the direction of the players with, for example, the daze breath, the mobs will also do so. Just imagine 2 or 3 daze breathing raptors attack you, you can dodge-roll out but the attack follows you and as soon as the roll ended, you’re going to be dazed and have no chance to really get around the attack. It would be very frustrating, especially for new players. The drakes, etc were also designed to be simple dodgable as I heared. And that’s exactly the problem with the effectivity as pet…
It works like you want it, I already asked this here because I thought the same way you do^^
Wouldn’t say it’s bad, I’ve already seen it around around here and it worked.
Why should AI be separated when it is a animation issue? I am sure that F2 skills is player activated.
Because if it would rotate to the player as pet, it would also do as mob in PvE and that’s what’s definitely not wanted.
The cone effects seem so logical but the problem is that our pets are treated as environmental creatures. The moas, raptors and drakes attacks are the easiest to avoid, if they would also follow the player, especially a new one, the frustration of a 3 seconds daze or heavy damage from everyone of these mobs would be high. They have to seperate the AI of pets and environmental creatures like in every other game.
