I agree with the problem we have to defend with players… Because as defender you just can’t stay on the wall… As you say defender should have some defensive buff…. You have no LOS each time you want to place your aoe… You must to go under ennemy fire to be able to shoot yourself…
But on my side (Piken T1 EU) I never see a full ennemy zerg going on AC to defend…
You need supply to build all those thing…. Drain ennemy supply in the keep with constant attack and they will not be able to build more siege..
And about removing the loot from siege I don’t care about that… When I use siege it’s to defend my keep. Defending the keep is more important that my loot…
And honestly, generally you don’t kill a lot of people with siege… Or maybe those who are just to stupid to stay in the red circle…
Siege are made to push back the ennemy, slow them down… Not really to kill them…
Maybe some server build a lot of AC in the keep and you have 10 people all using AC… But honestly I never see that…. Really never…. And if some server use more siege, you have a lot of other way to open the wall… Once wall are open you just have to push on AC with your melee and all will be fine.
Seriously actual siege are fine…. Maybe limit number of siege that can be built, this will protect both defenders and attackers. But siege are fine….
1 ac just don’t kill anyone, just good to destroy proxy cata.
2 ac begin to be usefull….
You need 3 to begin to be really effective against players…
When you attack just don’t build proxy cata or ram and AC won’t do anything…
Stop running full zerg and caster only, bring back melee train to rush the AC if ennemy build too much….
And about the OP and the canon, when was the last time you kill someone with a canon ? Or be killed ? Those thing are close to useless… Using canon is just good to fire 2 or 3 times… After that canon is destroyed, or you are killed, pull, fear, what ever you want…
siege are fine actually. One thing we maybe need is to place canon where we can use them… And not those slaughter place that we have actually… Or give us a bubble like the dolly as long as the canon is up…
Anet have say since the begining that the 2 map will rotate. The problem is that we don’t have that rotation month after HoT !
And sorry but WvW is about large fight / tactic / startegy / roaming / …
Before the last change in DBL the structures had no value at all except PPT ! Then there is no tactic or strategy involved with the structures !
Now that we have the WP back in the keep it’s better for the keep, but tower continu to have no value (except PPT).
Add the fact that the keep / tower are too big, then hard to scout or full siege.
Add the non / hard counterable ennemy cata spot (proxy cata, cata on the stairs at UC) that make defense close to impossible if you can’t outnumber the ennemy..
DBL have a lot of issue, the map itself (layout, size, structure position) and mechanics that we will see in ABL (auto upgrade, forced path for the upgrade, no need for supply for the upgrade, guild upgrade). Good to remove the cost to upgrade structures, but no need then to add guild upgrade who are far more expensive that what we where used for the structures upgrade before !
Change was needed, because ABL have a lot of other issue and we have play it for years. But DBL was not a good map for WvW and the horrible change they made with HoT was added to the big failure of the map… You can add class balance and elite balance to the mess…
And about map spawning like EOTM you can’t do that in WvW ! Because people need to be involved in the map (scout / upgrades / …). If map can be closed at any time then people will not care at all about that part of the game, and will only remain the KT… If they build some EOTM system then they need to make all structures T3 immediatly..
EOTM is NOT a BL !
Stop asking to put that bad map in WvW !
We have DBL full with gimmick, don’t bring another map like this..
Emergency WP is very short, and you have 20min cd….
Your zerg can come back and attack again within the 20min…
And don’t forget that now you can’t use the WP at the end of the timer like it was possible on ABL.
Now add the fact that it’s impossible to go inner UC if ennemy is blocking the access… Because you can only enter from 1 side.
Yes I want to see some change on upgrade and guild upgrade. But seriously, emergency WP is fine now with the 20min cd and the normal WP that you can’t use at the end of the timer.
In fact with the new rules upgrading is far more difficult that before, because you have to wait T2 to have reinforced gate / wall. Now it’s near to impossible to upgrade T3 a camp. And with bad NPC position a T3 camp is very easy to flip, even with my poor support guard I can do it alone.
Before I was used to upgrade the camp T3 to have a good support for defending it. But now it’s impossible to upgrade and NPC are close to useless because half of them don’t even move when ennemy attack.
On my opinion we should come back to hold upgrade system, where you can rush gate and/or wp and where supply from the structure is used to build the upgrade. But anet will not change that…
And guild upgrade should be removed, and some upgrade included like bonus upgrade, like gate that can’t be destroyed by players, maybe iron guard, emergency WP, sentry system on tower, presence of the keep. This should be extra upgrade to buy when the keep is T3. But not linked to guild. Players without huge guild should be able to play the game like others. It’s WvW not GvG.
But Anet say that they will not remove guild upgrade because that kitten cost ton of gold and players who have farm pve to unlock this will not be happy. Then we are stuck with a bad system just because it was really bad designed and they don’t want to hurt people who have work hard to unlock that.
Because you know, for WvW guild the guild hall is useless if you don’t use the guild upgrade system….
There is a lot of people who love the home borderland concept… Why do you want to remove that ? You have EB for the 3 side map, don’t touch our home border…
Anet try to remove the home concept with the WP only for 1 faction and it was a big fail ! Now that they bring back the WP at T3 for everyone the map is alive… Because it’s our home, because with WP we can move easly on our home.
Each server have is own BL, and EB for the 3 side map. This is fine.

You can build WP on each keep, and build emergency WP in the tower…. What do you want more ? Don’t bring any pve event or another event in the center of the map…

And eotm is not a “home” map, it’s a 3 side map… I want to play at “home”, this is what is ABL, and DBL is close to that with the recent change. But eotm is not, really not a home border map !
It’s fine for me now… Mass stun where you can’t use any of your spell is really annoying and maybe should be nerf. Because actually you are chain stun and then you can’t do anything except dying.. But CC and stab are fine.
with the last change DBL is not that bad. Yes the map have always issue.
Tower are useless and keep are too big. And keep feel “unsecure” because ennemy have a lot of spot where they have higher ground to attack… Keep should be in top of the hills, not surrounded with hard to counter cata / treb spot.
But with the last change we can at least travel on the map, and the WP change help a lot with that.
Honestly the map is playable now, and we get our “home” with the WP.

ok with that, tower are useless on DBL… No one care to defend it because except PPT they are useless. And as T0 and T3 have same PPT value there is really no reason at all to loose time to defend it…

Yeah, I hate stun, because you will be insta killed and there is nothing you can do about that. But CC is far much better now.
cc is much better now that we have the stab change and some cc max target.
Just stop running pirate ship and bring back your guard and you will have no issue with CC.
he do more than that… He place your gw2 process in high priority, and he lock other process on only the 2 first core, then other cores are fully available for gw2.
On my side I have stable fps, didn’t make extensive test as I use it for many games and it’s better with than without.
And yes use the 64bit client is very important.

EBG sucks, it’s even far worse that the new DBL for me. I love the “home” concept, and this is back with the WP change.
I’m on Piken, #1 on EU, and execpt at reset we always have at least 1 map without queue to play on. No need to have only EB and scale map number with players online.
Just stop stacking EB and all will be fine.
And about 4 different map… Well.. We will all stack on EB and ABL ? Because EOTM map suck really… And ABL is far better than DBL even with the new change.
Just a good thing to do. Allow to the guild who claim something other people to build siege or to take supply in the structures.
Maybe add this with whitelist or blacklist.
Then the guild who claim something can choose that only member from that guild can use supply / build siege. Or define a blacklist of players or guild that can’t do that, or define a whitelist of players / guilds that can do that.
But to add this you have to add some ingame poll to force unclaim something, like at least 50% on the map players should agree with that, or more, don’t know.
People complaining about queue should just join DBL and stop stacking on EB… The queue for DBL is not so long, on Piken I had to wait around 20min (30+ man queue).
And it was the reset just after the last patch… We will see less queue later. Reset day is always full of people.

Piken is full too, 140 queue on EB and around 30 on all BL…
But I prefer that as no queue on BL
at least there is no more outnumbered…

So they either need to be buffed by a ton or wxp lines need to grant something like 95% damage immunity to players when manning them for them to be practical.
Like the dolly bubble, that can be a good thing… Then you have to clear the siege before being able to kill the player. At least this will make the canon / oil usefull.
DBL have a lot of issue… The recent change improve the map yes, but we are always with useless tower. And that is really a bad thing that the tower have really no value at all (except PPT).
Now keep have value again with the WP, map is easier to travel. But there is the always this issue with those useless tower where you have no reason at all to defend or to take except to make a little more PPT.
Alpine was far better. Yes I was bored from ABL after all those years and change was welcome. But DBL was not a good change at all. And all the HoT kitten have hurt the WvW community a lot. Both combined have killed WvW.
Now with more reward, soon server linking, map change and WP back we can see some improvement.
On Piken we have more people.
Yes EB queue is always bigger, but now we have queue on all BL !
Small queue yes, but at least maps are full.
For me playing only on BL I see a huge difference with more people, keeps are now valuable because you have the WP at T3, map is easier to travel.
No seriously it’s a good improvement.
I always want Alpine back, but at least actually DBL is not so annoying.
Please, no central event, no pve stuff…

The change to the map design make the map more easier to travel, less annoying maze.
The stab change greatly increase my guard usabilty, now I can fight again with my melee.
This update is the first for a long time now that is really in the right direction.
You should give a try honestly.
And with the server linking at the next reset we will see some change in the MU, new people in our team and new “linked server” to fight.
I play a lot with my support guard…
With the stability patch I can play again in zerg.
You can have good fight with old classe and win 1v1 against elite.

Will the linking be permanent ? Or at least long term link ?
To build a good community we need that the link don’t change every week (like eotm).
I can understand if the link have to change very few times to adapt to population, but not every weeks… Even not every month..

They need to come back to what upgrade was before… Maybe just remove the upgrade cost (in gold).
Bring back that upgrade need supply, manual update trigger, freedom to choose what to upgrade…
Now you have to wait 60 dolly to have reinforced wall ! Before we rushed the wall and the gate and then WP. Maybe running directly to WP…
Now those choice are removed, WP are removed, grindable guild upgrade who give advantage to big guild and killed the small guild.

Bringing back ABL with the HoT crap is a really bad move from Anet… And this will probably not resolve most of the current issue.
Just join a good server with a good community guild who support scout…
There is no reason that bad server without any organisation can have free and auto upgrade…
The auto upgrade system is just another eotm / casual style… Make the game easier, just join, follow the blue tag to KT and all will be fine. We have tons of mechanics and NPC who do the difficult job for you.
Oh and because ANET want to sell some gems, we remove all the upgrade from your guild, and if you want it back just loose hours of boring pve farm, or take your credit card…

Just look at the WP and you will see that Anet want us to only hold our 1/3 on each map…
yep, ofc, but if you do a lot of ppt those turtle server will go down on ranking and you will fight other servers….
You want to fight another server, make them loose so much point that they will loose ranking…
And about population, you don’t need a lot of people to take keep or tower…. If there is no defenser it’s very easy…
I play in T1 on EU and really we don’t see those bunker…. Or if they are defender we find other way to get in the keep, or we just go elsewhere…. If all the ennemy are in the same keep to defend, then just spread and take other stuff… They will go out, or loose because they have only 1 keep…
Planetside 2 have friendly fire, and you can’t choose your team, and the game work fine…
Yeah, some of the guild upgrade should be limited to outnumbered.
And automatic iron guard when outnumbered could be very good too.
I speak about friendly fire on yourself.
Then when you shoot with your cata the splash damage will hit you and your cata.
No one else.
And friendly fire could be fine, a lot of game have friendly fire.
But then anet need to add some mechanics to ban people who make too much friendly fire in a small amount of time. With increase ban time.
Then you can add friendly fire to AC, to make happy all the guy who hate the AC… This will reduce the use of this siege in fight.
They should make this damage hurt objects from all sides (not just enemy stuff), so they blow themselves up. This point blank catapult stuff makes a nonsense of the whole affair!
Yes friendly fire (at least the siege used to fire) could be very interesting.
