The balance is broken, the melee are dead… And with HoT small guild are dead too..

Then build some offensive treb…. Split your zerg to attack multiple spot at one time…
Drain supply inside the keep with multiple attack and force players inside to repair…
Attacker can resupply and continu to attack, defender can’t…
Siege mean time…. And there is so many place where you can place offensive weapon…. Just try different spot to drain supply… Or another solution, attack another keep…
If some defender choose to heavy siege one keep, I doubt they will do it on the other keep… Take all the map, and then come back for the last keep…
Building siege inside the keep cost a lot of gold… Same to activate the guild upgrade (I hate those guild upgrade). It’s normal that you can’t enter in the keep in 2min with 1 proxy cata that defender can’t destroy…
Yeah, but Alpine BL with the HoT stuff will be the same kitten…
I can’t imagine defending hills without the ability to build a WP…
Or with those guild upgrade…
Guild Upgrade are related to all the HoT crap…..
Including more class balance issue, pve grind guild upgrade, auto upgrade, new map, shield generator….

You can be sure with the new DBL if they remove the marked buff no one will care about searching mesmer…. Too anoying, too long… And useless, because keep have no value at all…

About the communication you can add the new sentry.
Before when I was defending camp / protecting keep I was always saying on /map that I see a small ennemy group, where they are moving. Or the roaming guy always give information for other players.
But now with the new sentry no one speak on the map… You just follow the red dot… No more communication between the players.
I have stop playing gw2 for month now… Sometimes I jump in eotm for 1H but I don’t do anything more now… I was used to play for hours on my BL, scouting hills, protecting our supply camp..

The old upgrade system was fine….
With the new they have remove the upgrade cost but they have add the massive cost for the guild upgrade…
Just move back to the old way for the upgrade and all will be fine… And btw remove all the guild upgrade, keep the guild upgrade like it was before. No need to have that stupid pve grind wall in wvw.
Maybe change gold cost to karma cost only, but the old system was fine for me.
I’m not for nerfing ac or to remove it.
But yes, limit siege in some area is ok for me (max 3 siege in some radius), and friendly fire with siege why not. This will probably limit ac in open field or fight with the protection of friendly siege.
And the siege limit will help the defender because ennemy can’t no more spam 10 cata at the same place to open the wall.
cata splash damage should hit friendly siege…
To avoid proxy cata…. Probably the same for the treb.
More friendly fire (at least for siege against siege) could be interesting.

I was scout…. My favorite place was hills, and my play time was close to only off peak during the day.
People who don’t like the new map are not only the KT players… The KT players have leaved because there is no one on the map.

Sentry have killed the communication with the roaming guy and the scout.
New WP have killed the need to defend something because there is no point to hold something, you have the WP at T0.
Auto upgrade killed the active management from the scout, to choose between storing supply, building siege, starting upgrade. And before no supply in the keep mean no upgrade. Now each dolly bring supply, even with upgrade in progress… To easy, to boring.
Tower are completly useless and except PPT they have no value at all.
Keep are ugly, too big and useless because you can’t control the WP. And if you control the WP, you have it at T0.
Stupid puzzle jump (rampart, air keep)
New class without any skill balance…. So much control now… Melee players cant just play…
The shield generator was a bad idea. If your zerg have enough supply and ennemy don’t have a zerg inside the keep you can just attack safely…
If people would get off their lazy kittens and go LEARN them (like I’ve been saying from the start) – they too would like them!
yes, we are hundred players who are completly dumb, unable to learn a map, and unable to learn new game mechanics…
Or maybe the map and all the new hot stuff are really a piece of kitten…
P.S I hope no one is under the delusion that bringing back the old bl is going to bring people back in droves, some may return, but there are many other problems that drove a good number of them away, guildhalls, tactivators, banners, pirate ship, condi meta, forced to pve, etc.
Yep, I agree with that… We need wvw as before hot, but we need a lot of change…. You speak about the most important. I will just add the new upgrade system for the keep (guild bonus, auto upgrade, less supply inside the keep, no more double doly, etc).
On the other hand I am also very aware of the talent and time that went into making that very dynamic map in a 3D program along with all the physics, and texturing.
I know they tried very hard to please this community. The map has its issues in the WvW sense, but it is not shoddy work by no means.
We don’t care the money or the time that was needed to make this map and all this change. It’s because your change cost you a lot of work that this change are good !
Anet was stupid to make all those change without consulting the community.
The problem now that is that the game mode is dead, Anet killed WvW.
But because for some ego they can’t say that and continu to force players to play in this broken game mode. But a lot of players have just leaved.
HoT and the new map have killed the core wvw players (scout, roaming). Those players where the only one on alpine BL at off peak to make the job and hold the map. Now those players are no more in the game and the map is always empty.
You can bring all your casual players, but if there is no veteran in the game to have some permanent presence then your game will die.
WvW should not be behind kittening grind wall, where you need to do tons of pve to be able to upgrade your guild.
So much players cry about the upgrade cost for the keep, but now it’s the guild upgrade who cost lot more ! The old upgrade system was just fine ! Small guild for the scout was able to claim keep and apply bonus…
Bah, I have say those thing so many times. I’m just sad to see the game that I have loved to become a big piece of kitten because Anet think that wvw is pve, and because so much casual players want the game to run alone without any player interaction…
Alpine needed few change… Like the new fortified gate, change to some spell like the dragon tooth or meteor shower to be able to stand on the wall and to defend, or make the wall larger or some safe spot for AC.
But we don’t need this new map… And all this new mechanics…. Even EB is unplayable because of this new kitten…
And don’t try to bring back alpine map with the hot change (upgrade, sentry, guild, shrine, etc etc etc).
I prefer the alpine without any change and without HoT that this actual piece of kitten…

I didn’t play GW2 for long month now, I’m just here because I hope they will fix wvw. But bring back the old map and add all the HoT stuff and for sure I will not play again.
HoT have killed WvW in many ways, not only the map. Guild stuff, map, skill balance, too much cc, pirate ship everywhere, ugly really ugly keep… Who will build a keep underground seriously ? Or in middle of a canyon with big mountain all around.. This is just stupid, so far away from what a keep should look.
Yeah, they have to work to destroy the old map with the new super hot stuff…
Bringing back the old stuff can’t be allowed, they can’t really accept to say that HoT is a big mess…
Oh yes, the old BL, without HoT crap… But the old BL with the HoT new stuff will be boring like hell…
Just make mega server with 3 team… And pop new map when the first are full… WvW is dead, defending is useless with the laser event, with mega big keep, proxy cata… Then juste make another EOTM but maybe with fixed team and more time for each MU…
Or make only small MU for 3H including in WvW…
WvW need people, a lot of people to work… Spreading population in multiple server (really too much server) and bringing huge map with huge keep and no WP on home BL will bring only population issue.

I was scout on home BL…. I liked to defend… Now I have just stop playing GW…
WvW was the only thing I played on GW2… And defending most of the time.
Now that defending is useless I have leave the game…
I have try the new map, take lot of hours to learn it… But this map is really a big piece of sh… Seriously… Keep to big… Who the hell will build a keep like the fire keep ? With wall everywhere to block your defensive siege ?!?
Generally you build a keep on top of some hills, with clear area around to see your ennemy and to be able to shoot back with siege… But fire keep is underground with no line of sight around… Palace is surounded with ton of clif… Same for rampart…
North tower are useless… Same as south tower…
Removing the tactical decision to upgrade or hold supply to build siege or repair is now gone… No more double doly on the supply camp, then no point to hold the supply camp…
Nop the defend side game is dead. Now the only thing to play is karma train. And I hate KT…
I’m just on the forum sometimes to see if they will change something on this game to maybe, maybe come back some day…

The problem is that EBG have the same issue… New upgrade system, new auro who remove you what you have before (guild upgrade with +5 and other boon, hide behind grind wall, ….).
If I can have the old EBG I will play on this map, but the game is the same broken thing… And I don’t even speak about the ton of new CC and all elite crap…
All WvW is broken… EBG or deserted BL.

On some topic people give the time to travel, but you have to find it… I don’t remember exactly the post name.
Honnestly, as long as you try to defend only your 1/3 the travel time is not a issue.
The north tower are too far from spawn on my opinion and useless. But except that just play around your WP and the travel time is not that bad. Probably close to what we was used on Alpine BL. But you need to take the shrine buff and the shortcut.

Before you read about my point of view, it’s important for me to present myself. I have around 3k+ hours in WvW now, mostly as a guard where i go by Enns. I was in some PvD guilds, that played for the points, and GvG guilds that played to be the top EU guild and suceeded in doing so.
Now let me define my definition of a True WvW Player.
A True WvW Player will love fights.
A True WvW player thinks objectives of capturing and defending are cool because they give fights another environement, another scenery.
A True WvW Player hates things that give a ridiculous advantage to the ennemy, like arrowcarts or cannons.
A True WvW Player doesn’t care about winning a Matchup, he cares about winning his fights.

Run yourself, learn yourself… Play the game yourself….
This map is not made to have 1 team cover all 1 map. Focus on your side of the map (around the keep with WP for you). Then you will have less travel time because you have 2 WP for 1/3 of the map…
Don’t play the new map the same way that the old… That is the main issue for most of people…
3) no waypoints on the east and west 2 keeps on the home borderland except for the enemies
You have the WP if you control your keep on the ennemy BL. Then if you focus on your keep with WP and not on your home BL you can have the 3 WP + spawn WP… This give your team a big mobility advantage… Just don’t focus on home BL and go on ennemy BL.
4) Guild catapults used to be 25 supply and now they take like 50 supply to build and they aren’t supposed to take that much supply and are the same as a superior catapult incorrectly.
I’m fine with roaming group building guild cata. Problem is that the zerg do the same… Then you have something like I see when the zerg build 25+ guild cata to quick open your T3 keep and try to open before the reinforcement can join.
Then it’s finaly a good move to change the guild cata cost. And yest I build a lot of cata in small group… You have to run more… But at least this reduce the ability for zerg to build too much siege.

I hate the auto upgrade. But you have to see your keep with WP as the mobility advantage they give you. Then you have to hold those keep to hold this advantage. And T3 stuff is easier to hold that T0….. Then defending (at least the keep with WP) is usefull.

If you can’t take keep or tower just because they have canon and oil then you have to learn to play…. And if you speak about the defensive turret, then take the shrine before attacking the keep.

Then if you go on ennemy BL you can use those WP ! At least one…
This mean that if you control your keep on each map you have the 3 keep WP… But not all on the same map. You have 3 WP on 3 map.
At the end it’s close that before, just that you have to forget the old way to play with 1team who control completly 1 map. Now it’s each team control 1 keep on each map. Something like EB, but the home team have a small advantage (1 more tower, keep easier to defend).
The WP are not always contested…. Where do you see that ?!?
You have 1 WP / map…. (+ the spawn).
And if you have to run from spawn to your keep it’s not that far… Except for T0 keep with fake wall/gate you have enough time to run…
And yes, I have defend keep with few people (2/3).
And if you have population issue, move from your lower tier to higer tier…. Stop playing on dead server, make yourself what Anet should do…. Merge population server….
Just take 1 keep on each map, then yo will have 3 WP… Use community guild to speak accross map and call for help when needed… Problem solved…
I miss the old BL with 1 team controlling all the map, but we can’t on this map. And to be honest, we have more activity when we play like this.
Remove central event.
Bring back the old way for upgrade, maybe without gold cost.
WP at T3 for all team or not, don’t know… 1 WP / map is good when you have enough players because this force you to spread on each map. But when you don’t have enough players it’s really painfull.
Maybe something about proxy cata… Like cata can be hit by his own splash damage.
There is something to do inside the keep, lot of spot where you can’t place siege. This is a big issue against some offensive spot…
With that you have a good start… The map is not that bad when you have the WP close to you. And they will not change the map too soon… There is too much work to change something on the map itself.
yep people have to learn the map, and I really think people have to start to take 1 keep / map and from that keep attacking the other stuff…. Trying to hold a full map is not the good way… We have to use the WP in the keep…
Small question…. I’m searching for a server with people actually playing on the BL…
I hate EB, and the new BL with the WP on the keep begin to be playable… More change need to be done but it’s a good start…
But on my server no one is playing on the BL… Now everyone is on PVE during the day, or EB…. They only play on the BL at prime time, and just because EB is full….
Then I search a new server, with people online during the day and who actually play on all the BL, not only on EB, or not only at prime time…
Any idea where I can find that ?
bad programming have nothing to do with bad server…. You can have powerfull server if your code is bad you will suffer lag… Maybe that the server, maybe it’s the programme itself… Hard to tell from client side…
Both south dolly (east and west) are working now. This was an important issue.
Il would just to say that moving the WP inside the keep are a first good move.
I have play many hours today defending only our 1/3 on ennemy BL and the WP help a lot.
This make a lot less time to run everywhere, more action. But you have to focus on your 1/3 on each map.
But I continu to think that this WP must be earned and he should only be unlocked at T3. Upgrade must be manual and require supply.
Maybe I don’t care if Anet don’t give WP to everyone, I can adapt to this.
This map can be played without running for hours if each team control 1 keep on each map, thx the WP inside the keep. Those WP should never be placed in the tower.
It’s a first good move, please Anet continu to listen. Remove those auto upgrade, move WP only at T3 and make upgrade depend on supply.
For that give back the old supply limit (both doly and keep) and the double supply capacity for the supply caravan.
It’s your choice to give WP to everyone at T3 or only to 1 team if you want at all cost to remove the 1 color BL…
To everyone, try to play the game this way, focus on your keep on each map, and you should have less time runing.
lol, canon and oil are useless…. If ennemy zerg attack you can’t just use it….
It’s only usefull against small ennemy group… But very small….
And if you canon they just move to attack the wall….
And all those bad canon placement and wall or bridge over the gate are really anoying when they block you to cover the wall with cata against proxy cata…
Like UC… There is plenty of pillar or wall everywhere that make very difficult to build counter siege against cata or treb… Then you need to build more defensive siege because of all those wall….
Who will build a castle with no ligne of sight around the wall….
Keep should be in top of hills, not underground…. with clear ligne of sight around to be able to see the ennemy and not allow them to hide or place siege behind wall…
UC is underground, Palace is lost in middle of some strange canyon with wall impossible to defend (north outer wall, south inner).
The only keep who is good is Rampart, that you can really defend and who is not a stupid maze…
The 2 north tower are now much far from spawn. Before they was between the spawn and Garri. Anet didn’t help to defend the 2 north towers…
Rampart is a real slaughter house, it’s really hard to break inner. But the tower…. We just don’t know what they do here…

Actual north tower are useless, except ppt there is no difference in the tactical game on the map if you own the tower or not…. Same for keep as the side keep have WP only for the non home team.
I have nothing against people who do KT… At least this bring player on the map !
For me KT is like PvD. Taking stuff without any one who defend.
auto upgrade give nothing to do to the off peak team when all is quiet… Then no one log in…
T3 are too easy to get, and to boring to take with small group.
Today I open palace wall… Outer was open but I had to leave…
I tell on my map that the wall was open….
3H later I log on again…. The wall that I had open was always open…… No one close it, no one try to open inner…. And all 3 server are FULL according anet !!
The map are empty at off peak because all is automatic and no one want to KT T3 !
And make that you need to go inside the structure to start the upgrade !
To easy to just start the upgrade from the map, like the guild claiming and the guild upgrade…
Please don’t speak for everyone. Personally, our guild and server are adapting to the new map just fine. We had plenty of people on the borders last night and had a brilliant time!
There were fights, we defended air keep against a (much) larger group and even did some dolly running to speed up the T3 on the keeps.
Don’t blame the map for your inability to adapt like a good wvw player should. #breakthektrain
