What about founding a guild (for funs) that is for engineers. The main idea behind this would be to go rampaging as engineers, bombing towers and keeps with grenade kits and bomb kits, maybe using some other fun tools the engineer has access to aswell.

Personal details:
I have played the engineer as my first class, but because it lacked on a lot of fields when in 1v1 situations, I decided to train other classes. A few days ago… I decided to reroll engineer… and created… Crazy Sapper Vael. More people are free to join in with newly created engineers, preferably bearing the name “Crazy Sapper [Name]”.
We can also accept higher level engineers (with another name), if they meet the other criteria. :P

The people who made these crazy sappers are all from Old Boys, a PvX guild on Gandara. Idk really if and how we will found it, and what the exact focus could be (probably spvp and wvw). If we find people interested we can found the guild in-game.
Leader and officer spots are open (as long as you let the old boys join in)

- make an engineer

To add to the group feeling.
To give guilds more options.

Now, allow engineers to make cave-ins, underwater explosions and build siege ladders!
Also, a wooden siege tower that would allow the dolyak to move up in a lift!

Yeah I see that Nurvus, but considering you could actually select all these effects, what would stop you from making for example a guardian that has a different condition on each skill and that has maxed out condition damage? I guess it wouldn’t be bad to have that choise, but it might make some builds completely overpowered.

Sorry ken, but the example you give in which the players reached max level and got all geared up for it, and then find out they will get a higher level cap and won’t get leveled to it and have to farm it all over again, would make about 50% of the players of this game quit if such a thing happened. In that view, it’s not a good example at all.

The point is, me and other players never get all the chests back that we had already earned. And I don’t think it nice of Anet that they give us chests for ranks we already got. I think they are obliged to. Imo, players who played earlier than others deserve a reward for it.

Why can’t we be able to prod the dolyaks? This would make escorting a kitten ring activity. You would prod the dolyak to go faster and that might give you wxp after you did it. Seems like a fun idea xD prod
Another idea, why can’t we pull the dolyak along on a rope? :p This would both make it more realistic and add more options for rewarding players in wvw.

Let me add – I’m sure there are a lot of other players in the same situation. Can you please revise your decision anet?

You do know that the wxp you need to rank up flattens out at 5k right? It never increases and starts at that rate at about 20, so what’s the issue?

Biggest problem I have with it is that they don’t award the players who have gained all these ranks by just giving them what is rightly theirs. Also the fact that I play a lot of alts, that all passed the rank 5 line, where the wxp required is 5k. Rank 1-3 required only 1k wxp, so that’s 3 chests very easy to gather.

Since I already passed these easy ranks I never got the chests there, and the ranks ahead are a lot harder to attain. Because I play several characters I won’t get my rewards very easily, cause it would require me to get 5×5k wxp per character. Some of my characters are higher than that, so means an average 7 times the 5k wxp.
Now, I also have 6 characters I play WvW on.

In total this would require me to farm a lot of wxp. 6 × 7 × 5 = 210k wxp. As I’m a casual player I will never reach 210k wxp, and as a conclusion, will never get my reward. Thank you Anet.

Why would that happen? We don’t even know what is in the chests…

Gandara Garrison is scary. If you get too close to it or use the waypoint, you are catapulted out of WvW and transformed into an error report.

That’s the perfect way to state it.

The backtracing system is utter bs. Why do we need to play 2x the amount of wvw to get our reward chest back? Why can’t you just dump them in our mails per character based on the number of ranks we gained? Now all the work we did before this update was totally for nothing, cause it will ask us to gain more ranks, and the higher your rank goes, the more WXP you need to level up… This is a lazy trick of Anet to keep people playing WvW.

Bossy, I wasn’t hijacking his thread. I was pointing out thakitten would be easier to join another guild. I was also pointing out that I had a guild that was nearly dead, but the people that worked it up did so with a lot of initiative and work. I don’t think we’d make it a second time because recruiting has become extremely harsh. I’m just giving cryptus an alternative. So please, back off.

If you only have 5 members active at most, you’d do better joining another guild. If your active members are willing to switch servers and join forces with the Old Boys (50+ active members: representing & online daily/weekly), we’re always in need of more people who like to take up initiative. The Old Boys was on the brink of extinction 5 months ago, but has since flourished, thanks to the everlasting endurance of some of our members. We have all levels unlocked (architecture, politics, economy, war are all on 6) and have 4 out of 5 guild missions unlocked aswell.
If you join us you can have a fresh start and enjoy our activities. This is just a suggestion by the way. Do as you wish, but know it will be very, very hard to save your guild.

Ah yeah, to add, every class has a way to protect against thief. Judging from your armour you’re a warrior or guardian, so you have plenty…

Lol a few days. Nah, just go roaming with a small guild group. If you lack the skill for that… I suggest you should run with the zerg, as despicable as it is.

Thank you MS at bridge to hills (MS BL) at 6-7pm GMT+1 yesterday! We had a lot of fun fighting you guys, though you had 2-3 times our number. Also thank you to the two guys from [TCHU] that stood by us. That was some epic fun skirmishing

Also nice to fight FSV yesterday evening on MS BL.

WvW is not designed for skirmishes eh? Weird. It’s actually the only enjoyable part of WvW. Siege is pretty much a “I will kill you from behind a wall” tool. The open field fights are incredibly exciting, compared to those siege jokes of a fight. You can use the field to your advantage without needing siege.

I’m on gandara, but wanted to let my voice out on this matter. Just yesterday me and 2 guild members [OB] and 2 guys from the guild [TCHU] were fighting against MS at hills. We didn’t so much as attack the gate, but we just blocked up the bridge and held it for about 30 minutes. MS had about 15 people trying to take us. Might have to say, we were pretty exceptional team-up:
- I went as staff ele (mix of zerg & heal)
- OB mate 1 was d/d ele
- OB mate 2 was a berserk warrior
- TCHU mate 1 was a guardian
- TCHU mate 2 was a mesmer

Basically the MS zerg came down the stairs to southern hills each time with 20 people, then they drove us back to the bridge. But from there we usually dropped some stuns and dazes, flung some aoe around and used tornado as a blast & blind. We stood our ground and killed a few people with every time they tried to zerg us. In the end they called reinforcements until they had at least 30 people there.

We gave a shout to a friendly commander, retreated to the tunnel near lake and held them off until Gandakitten ople came up at them from behind. They broke at that moment, which was pretty dumb cause they still outnumbered us. By the time they managed to regroup they had like 10 people left (vs. our 15-20).

I gave this as an example that wvw is ALL ABOUT skirmishing. Strategic fielding, timing and the use of the right attacks make you win in a honest way, while sieging up and then zerging the brains out of your enemies is not exactly what WvW was ment for.

I have one question though. Won’t players automatically sort through builds and use the ones that are ‘great’ and leave the rest?

Another problem is the number of mechanics.
There are only a limited number of weapon ‘effects’ for lack of a better word:

- crippling
- poisoning
- bleeding
- confusion
- burning
- vulnerability

- stunning
- dazing
- immobilize
- knockdown
- knockback

combo
- jump
- blast
- line
- whirl
- projectile

defensive
- block

boons
- regeneration
- protection
- swiftness

- stability

I know there are other ‘affectors’ such as fear, but there isn’t any weapon skill (as far as I know) that will apply fear. I think it will be hard to find a lot of creative weapon skills other than the ones we have at this moment. It might come down to nearly using the same skills as other professions or come to close to other weapons a class has.

Very nice idea, thought I think it would make things rather difficult.

I think only should be shown in team chat. The others are also used in PvE and we don’t want commanders in pve maps who only bought the tag to show off in chat.

I’m totally ok with this idea. I have played this game since the start on a casual level and have 4k achievement points at the moment (so It’s not like I would get the precursor anytime soon). The achievements are a really nice show of your real value as a gamer, that is, your real achievements.

Gold is imo something that doesn’t show anything: you can have bought it with rl money or you can just have farmed cof for 3 months for 14 hours a day. Then I really have to say, congratulations, you have no life and you didn’t earn that precursor.

At the moment a legendary is 90% gold and 10% challenge. I don’t think that fits the concept “legendary”. Any gold farmer can do it. Instead, achievement points show you have conquered certain challenges.

Update: 8:30 am -> Game crashes happening at Gandara Hill now as well. We can’t get out. Only way atm is to speed run it to Aldon safe path.

Update 8:40 am-> Game Crashes happening when Wp’ing to the hill now. This is not always, but more people are reporting this.

Update 8:51 am -> going from EBG to Gandara BL , Can let your game crash as well.

Recently on this very forum, I found out.. I and many others have been misleading ourselves with our entertainment and fun. Even as far as completely playing the wrong way in this game. I consider myself educated now, I never had so much fun as you will see in this video. Hope you will agree this is pure excitment and i’m hoping it shows through.

Well abilities we have right now and they are adding are a joke. I don’t care. I haven’t spent a single of these ability points yet and they don’t make me better or worse in WvW.

Sorry but there’s no way you have ‘endless piles of badges’. I kit most of my characters out with WvW weapons, since the other ones either require 390 dungeon tokens or 5 gold. I don’t have any badges in abundance, certainly not when I’ll need to buy ascended jewelry with them.

Good question. I have 5 different characters I play for wvw, all with a rank between 5 and 10. This would mean 50 reward chests for me?

Is there any guild out there (FSV or MS) who likes to fight mine? We play WvW every now and then, so we’re not top and I think we can field a force of around 10 people. Preferably people who like to play WvW on a casual level aswell and are tired of the constant zerging.
