Hello fellow players!

The Old Boys [OB] are willing to merge with other (smaller) guilds on Gandara. Our player base contains about 60 active players. Do you have a small guild of 20 or less active players and want to be able to do Guild Missions and have a group for World vs. World and dungeons anytime? This is the perfect opportunity!

I agree to this point. No AoE cap means small groups aren’t limited to hitting 5 out of, say, 20 offenders, instead they would hit all 20 and would possibly be able to defeat them, by skill instead of by manpower.

Well, we gandarans managed to hold 2 towers on AG borderland and we got into their keep 2 times from 8 through 11pm under Jaydhren’s first command. We were outmanned 3 to 1 by Aurora Glade, so good game.

Adventuring Tyria on an unprecedented scale, we recently started exploring hidden zones, not using any of the maps that are known to this date but looking for places that seem reachable. Using tricks such as the Jump shot, Mesmer Portals, Teleport etc we manage to get into places we aren’t ment to get. Wanna adventure yourself, don’t wait any longer!

Hey diablos, my guild is on Gandara. It’s called The Old Boys. We are a casual PvX (anything) guild with 60+ active members and 10-30 online most of the time.
We are a adult community, where everyone is respected, and every member’s input is as valuable to us as the input of the officers/leader.

Our activities: we do dungeons, fractals, SPvP, WvW, guild missions (nearly 3 unlocked) and any sort of overall PvE activity.

Sorry devs, but I seem to miss something. As it is now:
- The ranks show for enemies
- The ranks don’t show for allies

Doesn’t that kind of make the rank system deficient?
So what happens: you show your enemy you’re a “kitten”, making them more wary of fighting you.

On the other hand, the people who have a lot of experience in WvW, and have a high rank by this, can’t show they actually are this much more experienced than others and can’t take command as a consequence of that, without buying a tag for 100g?

Can you justify this other than saying it’s a huge gold sink for Anet and ranks are a try to hide that fact?

Jeepers you guys are hardcore, no offense to you guys but your mentality is why I decided to open my own Guild. I work for a living, so when I go to have my relax time at home, I dont want to be “bossed around”. My guild is made up of 3 RL friends who have been inactive since December, the rest of my guild mates I met through the game, once they joined I enbaled all features to them (But I still outrank em >:D)

Did this interfere with running the Guild? Nope, we know the guild is a team effort, we’ve been doing Guild bounties for the last 3 weeks, Guild Treks are gonna unlock this week, and Guild Rush in 10 days. There is no guild leader or officers or scrubs, we’re all equal, Viva la Revolución!

Zergs are hardly a good strategy in WvW. 100 people to cap 1 supply camp or a sentry???
If you don’t want zergs, then don’t run with them. I’ve been playing a lot of WvW and I try to avoid zergs:
- Fighting in zergs is not challenging
- Fighting in zergs causes lagg
- Fighting in zergs is very visible for enemy (as a 5-man team you can slip past enemy lines of defense)

Yes, it gives more karma, experience, Wxp, but it makes WvW stale.

edit: I agree: add 20-man party interfaces, calling those squads instead of the commander “squad” that doesn’t even show who’s with you.

I love the fact that you can now see huge zergs. The fact that skill lag prevents you from doing anything about it annoys me. I play for fun, and being annoyed half the time is not fun. Gonna go spvp until they fix it.

Oh, btw, they’ve already stated that skill lag is caused by maxed cpus on the server that you are currently playing on. It is strictly a matter of not enough horse power on their servers.

I don’t believe support tickets will change it. As for skill lagg: 10 seconds nothing happening for the last 2 times I went WvW. It only occurs on maps with 80+ people per side.

PS – Engineer’s rifle also has Net Shot. That’s two crowd control skills. If you can’t get it done with two cc skills on one weapon, they you’re doing something wrong.

Sorry but I don’t agree with that. If you have 2 CC skills, that leaves 3 damage skills.
The n°1 rifle autoattack hits a single target for 1,5k per hit.
The n°3 spread-shot hits several targets for 3k max.
The n°5 has a delay, which makes it hard to actually get it off right on the spot where your enemy is standing. If it does hit, it hits 3k max.

All in all not very impressive. Imagine following scenario:
You’re the engineer, you see a warrior. You pop net shot, try to get n°3 off but ooohhh the warrior breaks out of it with a nice stun break. Next thing you blow him away, actually knocking yourself down? Not an advantage to you either. You then have one last big damage skill but due to it having a delay before hitting, the enemy can easily dodge out of the way. This leaves you with 4 skills on CD, your enemy with all skills ready and he only lost 1 stunbreak. Guess who wins.

Only one advice for you: don’t stick to the zerg. How to have fun in WvW? Go with a group of friends. It doesn’t matter if you suck, you’ll learn how to handle things. The first weeks of the game I didn’t have a clue what I was doing in WvW, so I didn’t play it much. Then some guys in guild asked for a group, I thought, hell yeah I’m in!
And we started roaming the broad world, sometimes defending camps, defending towers against larger forces. Sometimes we just sneaked in and tried to do as much damage as possible before being killed. The fun aspect of WvW is called covert operations.

I have same issue, lots of crashes and lots of skill lagg.

I’ve been having the same issue several times. Whenever I get into a WvW map with over 80+ people on each side I experience maior skill lagg. I try to pop my heal while running away from the enemy, nothing happens. Ten seconds later I get reverted to my earlier position and I’m now dead? What the kitten? How is it possible you get hit by lagg, try to run away and apparently your character doesn’t even react to your commands?
I honestly think removing culling was a great fix of the situation, but now Anet has to address the skill lagg, which has become unbearable in populated WvW maps.
Fyi: I never have this issue in PvE maps, but the moment I join in in heavily populated WvW maps and I get anywhere near the big zergs, the lagg hits me and everything becomes total chaos.

I’m tired of seeing Warriors chop up Engineers like Garen on steroids. Giving engineers a Minigun to keep them at bay would balance things out.

Warriors are voted the weakest sPvP class. If your engineer have trouble fighting warriors, I think you need to l2p.

What you say is utter nonsense, Warrior is capable of doing 13k damage in a single skill volley. the only other class capable of doing this is theif. and even then theif loses out to warrior. so i suggest you do research instead of posting some nonsense about how weak warrior is because it isn’t.

To do 13k in volley, you have to spec for it. That means sacrificing all toughness for offensive stats. Which means, anyone poking the warrior will kill him.

You also need the target to not dodge, and not move. Which won’t happen at all. Every Warrior sPvPer knows that rifle is a terrible weapon.

That is untrue. I played rifle/hammer warrior several times in SPvP, with different rune combinations and trait set-ups and in the end it was very viable for me. Only problem were mesmers. Even if people dodged away from the volley I had at least 10k damage AND also don’t forget the Kill Shot burst skill, hitting for 10k on it’s own.
Of course you shouldn’t go rifle only, you need to combine it with a steady AoE damage weapon, like hammer or axe/axe.

I wholeheartedly support the idea of the laser/plasma or minigun kit for engineers. Personally I’d prefer the plasma cannon, but anything with a long range like that would be superb. Buffing what’s already there would involve completely rebuilding a lot of the skills that we already get (see turrets), and that seems like it might just be a non-starter.

The biggest problem I see with the class really isn’t the kits, it’s that (and this has been said) the class lacks focus. I jokingly refer to it as ‘schizophrenic’ but really, the design philosophy seems to have been diluted to the point of being meaningless. We’re told we are supposed to be a versatile class, and even penalized for it, but with the way that traits function we are more or less required to pick one facet of the class and then go for the brass ring.

That, sir, is a perfect description of the up-to-date situation. Engineer lacks the focus as you say, cause it seems to be a mix of totally different ‘playtoys’, and doesn’t seem to have anything other than throwing out all kinds of gadgets, pointless elixir guns, a one-time mine, a set of bombs whose only use is the “Big Ol’ Bomb”…
The engineer, as a technologically advanced class, should have some long-range weapon with a steady amount of damage, like the warrior volley or thief unload.
I’m in favor of a laser rifle (long-range, sniping), minigun (knockback, CC, fast fire?) or hand cannon (slow with very high damage).

Hello developer, is this a possible solution:
“Filter” items in inventory, when you have salvage kits in it. This option would enable following feature: every item of “x” rarity will get automatically salvaged as long as you have salvaging kits. I don’t know if it’s possible, but it’s an idea.

That seems like a nice idea. And nobody can say it’s discrimination because it’s race-specific so if they want a cape, they have to make a human.

I think they should add more end-game missions like they had in guild wars 1 Eye of the North. Especially the charr part was amazing there. Build on stuff like that.

I was part of the 3-guild search team that luvpie mentioned. Something should be done. We spent about 2 hours total and failed because we got Sottz and couldn’t find him.

There is a difference between challenging and annoying/tedious. Sottz crosses that line…. very very often.

Not only Sottz. Most of the bounty hunt bosses are either completely unfindable, unkillable or are killed way to fast. As it stands now there is nearly no reason to do bounty hunts, cause the rewards are small and the amount of effort it requires is way too big.

This is not my game, internet or gateway. I checked my internet connection, google chrome works perfect, yet I get kicked out of the game.
I didn’t have this issue 1 hour ago, but since then I’ve played in the sab and my zoom glitched for some reason. Is it possible these issues are related?

I agree that it’s quite amusing the first 3 runs, but you need like 20+ runs for a skins. Pretty boring.
