I’m mostly in favor of option 1 and option 3, cause I think they are the easiest to implement:
1- Large (account-bound) & Small bottles (soulbound): they just need to add Large ones.
3- Dye upgrades: Totally. You just pay an amount of like 33% normal dye price.
I agree. We need better PvP
No I don’t quite agree to that Nomar: the common dyes already are junk ( 70 copper).
I would opt for Infinite “——-” Dye (can use on all of your characters) for like double the price.
I love the idea don’t get me wrong. only down side I see is if you use an unknown dye and get something you have and try to sell in in TP everyone will be doing the same because it will be 1 per account so once you have it you’ll never need it again making demand drop like a rock to a point it will worth less then trash.
Isn’t that positive? Everyone likes cheap dyes.
i don’t know how to name this, I’ll just leave this here

You can call it death? :p
Thumbs up so this thread isn’t lost. Vote it up people. Show Anet who’s in power.
Thumbs up. /15 chars
Yeahhhh. We wants an answer ANET
being evil in mmo is very mainstream according to me, it is quite enough being evil in real life, at least in game i want to be surrounded by hero and be one myself.
edit: isn’t already enough that every single male char is a black cof armor wearer?
I guess that works if you ARE evil in real life. I’m quite a good person. Thus it’s fun to be the opposite in a game.
Mhmm seems like a contradiction How can you be a good person, wanting to be bad?! o_O But yeah actually I’d like to be a bad guy too.
I actually like that idea. People who only play 1 character can buy the 1-time dye and others can buy account-dye. Awesome solution for such a simple problem. Please make your own thread about this Nomar, we don’t want it to dissapear.
Usual MMORPG developer thinking:
“Let’s make this character bound so that our players can have fun developing many characters through this system.”Actual player thinking:
“I’m bored of this class. I think I’ll level up something new. Wait. It’s going to take me 6 months now to get to where my main is and while I’m doing this my main is going to fall behind. That’s not fun and I’m tired of my main. I quit.”Every.
Game.
Ever.
Exactly. I have been feeling about quitting very often, cause of all of Anets stupid ‘playerfriendly’ ideas. Who’s going with me to Elder Scrolls Online?
WvW ranks & abilities are character based. The best way to think of this system is as alternative/extended character progression.
Seriously?! Why the kitten would we care about them then? I like to play ALL of my characters. Why do you need to get all that kitten characterbound again?
Lets see what sucks:
- Leveling characters up to 80 every time!! YAYYYY! (T-T)
I have leveled 4 characters to level 80 and let me tell you… it stops getting exciting from level 30. You can’t play dungeons because nobody wants low levels. You can’t play World vs. World cause you are about as powerful as an ant to an elephant.
- Karma soulbound! Great idea!!! Oh wait, I have 100k karma on this character, but I need to gear up my other character. Buys armour, oh it’s SOULBOUND?! Who invented such a stupid thing?
- Skill points. Need to farm them for the legendaries? Soulbound!
- Nice I finally have tier 3 cultural. Now I’m going to wear that whenever I play.
<Plays other character> What?! Can’t use it, unless I buy 6 fine transmutation stones, get them all to a level 1 item and then get that back to my actual low character’s level with another 6 basic transmutation stones?
And so on… Anet this is TERRIBLE
Yep, thats another mechanic but with the same purpose. I think they would both work.
This has been asked tns of times and I agree.
Mhmm messages being repeated? xD
I want last seen, separate invite/ rank change, and so much other stuff that’s needed.
Hey all. I have been trying to do CoF Path 1 without a mesmer.
It is IMPOSSIBLE. We had 2 guys from guild and 3 random people.
Every one of us was lagging and when we came to the flame wall, we couldn’t get through.
Every once in a while one got through, but the 4 other guys died instantly, without even touching the fireballs. We’ve been trying for like 15 minutes, then decided to give up.
Does this mean we absolutely need to have a mesmer?! It seems very stupid.
Very interesting I think I love the idea
My opinion on what we need:
- Being able to use skins without needing to transmute every time
- Being able to switch you stats easily, once you’ve acquired an item that has the stats
How:
- [NEW] Skin Database
- How to get a skin in Skin Database?
Simple: like Deimos suggested it: Anet has to add another option to transmutation stones. When using a Fine Transmutation stone you get a new option: Save Skin.
Saving skin consumes the transmutation stone, but you get to keep your item. - You can now withdraw Skins from your Skin Database (see it as the HoM system atm, you can get those items from the vendor, in any amount you want, for free).
- [NEW] Stat Database
- Saving stats to Stat Database? Same procedure, though a higher cost.
Saving stats will require 1 Fine Transmutation stone and 2 Basic Transmutation stones. - You get the option: “Save Stat to Database”.
- This procedure will consume BOTH the Stones & the Item.
- You can now withdraw the Stat Item for free from Database, in any amount you want.
!!!!!!! The items you withdraw from the databases will be Accountbound, so you can’t sell them!
What do you think?
Thumbs up. Everyone has to see this
Thumbs up for that awesome thread.
Nice ideas, the people who worked on these receive some credits
Make sure you don’t forget Redrex’ original concepts:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Concept-Profession-Name-undecided/page/2#post1643928
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Concept-Profession-Spiritualist/page/3#post1640974
Nice I’ve suggested just splitting them in different professions, but i didn’t really work out a system as to how to do that. I think this system should work, but there are some name changes we need to see through.
Warrior -
Berserker, {R]
Tanker [B]
Guardian -
Lightblade, {R]
Protector [B]
Elementalist –
Arcanist, {R]
Rifter [B]
Necromancer -
Reaper, {R]
Summoner [B]
Thief –
Assassin, {R]
Sniper, [B]
Mesmer –
Duelist, {R]
Minstrel [B]
Ranger –
Beast Master, {R]
Survivalist, [B]
Engineer -
Sapper, {R]
Alchemist [B]
I think these names fit a whole lot better.
I don’t see elementalist is any more overpowered than for example thief, warrior or mesmer. It’s just the way it is. Thief, warrior, elementalist & mesmer are the classes that have the highest dmg output, while guardians, engineers, rangers and necros are left out most of the time, unless you happen to be a professional player.
Sorry bro but I play WvW on a casual base and I’m getting pretty close to the 500 badges, just by killing people/npcs and getting the badges through fighting. It isn’t that big an effort compared to the insane amount of money you need for a precursor.
I still like Inquisitor, lore or no lore.
But Magistrate is another possibility.
Could I get away with “Titan”?
Magistrate sounds like a scholar class really. And the titans were a race, not a class :P
^This. I’ve seen similar posts and I think it would really help following things:
- “Dynamic” combat: allow for some more variety
- Original approach: everyone can technically make something unique
One more chance for Anet.
It’s all piken’s fault :’(
Skill lagg indeed ^^ I wasn’t even able to move earlier. I saw my character running in place, sometimes he warped a bit, then he appeared back on the spot where he was earlier and then I got hit by a zerg x-i
Also skills not reacting for about 10 seconds.
Hey Zariel, my guild has guild bounties atm and is unlocking Economy 6 for Guild Treks.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/GANDARA-The-Old-Boys-PvX-18-W3-Dung/first#post1607667
We’re on Gandara
I’m bringing this thread up again cause it got into the void a little and I agree totally with the OP. Why do we have to unlock every skin over again, and why can’t we attach the skins to our armour for free, after we’ve already bought that item. Why pay double…?
This only encourages transmutation stone farming, something I do a great deal cause I have lots of alts.
Well, some guilds are maintaining control on it already.
My guild is going to launch a control system. Everyone who comes online and represents within a month gets promoted to the new rank. Everyone who doesn’t come online gets demoted to inactive and kicked at the end of the month. This is, so far, the only viable option I’ve come across to make sure you don’t kick active members while cleaning up your ranks.
Guess it’s a good start, but I would want more.
Totally! Now everyone uses GW2LFG, but it would be better if we had this in-game, cross-server.
No we don’t. This has been asked tons of times, seriously… keep the crap for WoW.
I don’t think there should be class-specific weapons. There should be class-specific armour and weapon skins. Also: please don’t add extra weapons to existing classes, but make a new class. After all if you give endless sorts of weapons to each class, what would make one class different from another?
Ash Flamerazor. That is exactly the problem I have on elementalist. When I go healing I use d/d – water/toughness traits. When I go dmg I use staff – fire/air traits. Why do I need to put these traits up every single time? Can’t we just save them and keep them? We already had to pay for the skills (skillpoints), why pay more for the traits? :/
Can Everybody PLEASE shut the … up? Jesus Christ save me, your acting like morons. ._.
On the night cap size issue; I can confirm that Piken has less players when it comes to night time than Gandara although there has been nights where it’s been questionable. But lets be honest here guys; neither Server can compare with the size of the French Leviathan that pours forth from the heavens at like 2am.
I’ve been having a blast on Piken. Very awesome and accepting people. Had a fair amount of duels (and lost every single one of them!) against old server mates, one duel was actually a golem vs golem duel which was funny xD
Oh and yea I see some comments here about the Semper Yak Alliance thing, that only really ever happened when Dius or YaK was lacking or both were lacking. I think the most we had together on the field was against Kodash Vs KoA and we numbered 31? But this no longer happens due to Dius being on break til patch day >.<
On the topic of Piken guilds having Mahoosive numbers; I haven’t seen all guilds but I can confirm that at least Vii, Scnd, TNTD all run with around 15-20ish or less without Pugs and yea sometimes pugs are unavoidable so they will have pugs about. From what I have seen though is that people on both sides have a tendency to exaggerate numbers or to de?exaggerate their own.
Thats all I am going to say on those matters now because I am on vacation so lets just have some fun 8-)
Also Ghetto, you such a troll
!
VACATION? This is war, soldier. Get back here and lift that gun!
Just because that artwork is perfect… LIKES
I agree to penalizing guilds who claim and don’t boost. It’s just idiotic. Or at least make commanders able to unclaim them when there’s a maiority vote on the map who wants to do it.
Whenever the commando comes to GW2 it’s GOING TO HAPPEN-!
I agree to it Arcanorum. This has been suggested multiple times and it’s a true shame they are just ignoring it.
Yeah. Medium/Light/Heavy.
Hey talgor, I had a thread about profession suggestions that have been made. Thought you could probably use the ones I listed there aswell
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Making-a-profession-suggestion-forum/first#post1499824
I would vote for either “Inquisitor” (probably getting name change) or the “Spiritualist” by Redrex.
In everything else, from the combat mechanics to world exploration, I think GW2 trumps GW. For me, and this is of course just my opinion, I think GW2 is the better game by a great many miles.
If you updated GW1 to GW2’s graphics and mechanisms, would that still be your opinion? I fear I would be playing GW1 then.
Bump this. /15chars
Tscheheheheh
Oh, I’m aware. At this point, I would of preferred a 2nd GW in GW1’s style. I mean, WvW is a blast, but the rest of the game, getting boring and increasingly grindy.
Exactly GRINDY
My hopes:
- Fix culling
- Penalize zergs (unsportive warfare)
- More visible rewards for claiming
- Options to customize the world
- Living world: why aren’t their citizens, farmers and all that out there?
- More siege options: ladders, sapper explosives
- Allow other classes to get more viability.
- Guilds need more options for WvW
- More useful UI party options & squad options.
