I do agree this needs fixing. Isn’t WvW about strategy? Right now you just get hit by massive lagg, and 2 seconds later you’re dead. No idea what the purpose of WvW is in this way.
Leaching too. 15 chars
Lolol watch the title “Concept Profession Name undecided”
<3
So what do we have:
- Inquisitor
- Justiciar
- Suppressor
- Reaver
Lets vote for it? xD
What about this: not bare fists, but Gauntlets as a weapon. They should protect your hands while smashing away.
Ew. I hate Piken already.
Omg Eerekai nice; lets try discuss this further.
- Clipping issues with armour: I think these parts you changed with your mimics aren’t covered with armour. Animals don’t wear armour either. That brings following question: Should the mimic wear armour?!
There are different aspects to this:
- Stats: mimics definitely need something in those slots, cause we need to have options to change stats. What about “patterns”? Instead of armour you wear a specific pattern, that has it’s own stats and you can also upgrade them with runes & jewels.
- No armour at all, or only the parts you can change?
As it stands now: we can change our head, our legs and torso… I think we shouldn’t change torso, but change the arms. Those parts can transform, without clipping with the other armour parts: shoulders & torso.
That is also a decision to be made.
- Heals/utilies: attributes associated with the creatures you mimic?
Example: Dolyak’s resilience: gain extra health for a short period of time, making you able to hold out a little longer.
I think you could some more of these.
- I like the idea for only being able to mimic a creature, after you’ve killed it. It’s genius.
I actually found a more fitting name perhaps: the Suppressor. Literally “a person who directs and restrains”. This rather well fits Inquisitor?
I agree with more PvP options & I think you should be able to get REAL rewards from PvP, not some kittened glory you can use for “better” skins… I want to be able to earn money/experience with sPvP. Nobody cares for glory ranks.
I have no idea what you are talking about.
Got hungry and clicked the one that looked most like food.
Awesome. I don’t know where you get the inspiration for all this mate, but it’s rather cool
I’m in for the “Justiciar” idea. It fits in the lore (remember the White Mantle Justiciars?). Though the name seems a bit miss-leading. Justiciar comes from “Justice”, which would actually fit a good-themed class. THOUGH the original White Mantle Justiciars were actually the bad guys in Guild Wars 1. So yeah, why not?
Ah I overread that part xD
Warlord sounds way to vague and resembles Warrior. I’d opt for something that’s more evil-based, cause the “Inquisitor” has some very dark powers.
I don’t think the name should get changed really, only if people really have trouble with accepting it. It isn’t supposed to be neutral, as I think Redrex meaned it.
But as it is we already have 2 pretty evil classes out there: necromancer & thief.
There are already 4 summoner professions in the game depending on specc.
- mesmer
- necro
- engineer
- guardianFurthermore Ranger always has a pet out and ele has specific skills that summon elementals. I don’t think another “summoner” profession is warranted.
You forgot to mention thief has Elite thief support & another thief in utilities.
I actually sort of like this idea – well, parts of it. First thing that would have to go is the name, as said before, it’s neither befitting nor appropriate. Second, the ability to have a foe temporarily change sides is terribly broken from the get to go, and you already provided the reasons: it would only work against a certain group of enemies. This would leave the mechanic unusable against bosses and other players, meaning largely useless.
But, other than those two things, it’s well thought of.
1- How would you name it then?
2- Why can’t you have this mechanism? Look at the mesmer and his ability to change enemies in a moa. And this mechanism is already in-game. Have you ever played Twilight Arbor? One of the bosses changes players into allies of him for a short while, rendering them useless for a short period.
Woaah issues like these really need to get fixed.
Another awesome idea Redrex, though not as original as your others. Definitely worth considering though.
You have also given it some ‘graspable status’: it isn’t just some loose mechanism without any physical grounds for it, but founded in mimicry. I like the idea for using the several juvenile animals we already have in this world and make it able to get one aspect of these animals.
I doubt you would have much advantage from those transforms though:
Consider the case of the owl you used. You say we can use 3 aspects, can we you all 3 at the same time or only 1 of the three at the same time?
- Head: beak… solely useful for melee? What about adding visual effects too: watch through the eyes of an owl?
- Torso: wings… overpowered?
- Legs: talons… not much use if you can’t use them combined with wings.
More input please
Lolol Wickedsh sounds sort of weird though it isn’t terrible. 8/10.
Mine is “Councillor Huron” a noble Ranger who likes to spar with swords.
It’s medium that has most problems. I have so much difficulty finding a proper outfit on my charr thief. I also have charr warrior and seems like heavy has some nice options.
The timezone is indeed EU, I just approved your application. Have fun
I agree to the OP. While the cost for retraiting is marginally, it just is a waste of time running to the ‘retrainer’ only found in cities, every time you want to play a different role. The fact that you can’t save builds is also very very lame. You find a nice build, though you don’t wanna play it all the time, so you switch… but you forgot what your earlier build was… Mhmmm
GW1 were always by the way just wannabe necros, they both are nothing else than occultists using undead minions and spirits are nothing else, than undeads, just without corpses
Do you use a necro primarily? While you have some valid points you post seems to cry more I’m a necro, I’m special.
Necros are wannabe ritualists, they are both occultists using dead minions and minions are nothing else than undeads with out a spirit.
While I agree both necro and spiritualist would work through the dead they do this in a completely different way.
Necromancers animate the bodies of dead people. These minions are soulless. They just follow orders, mindlessly, without any true form of cooperation involved.
Spiritualists would call on the spirits, souls of the dead. They would not FORCE them to help, but would ask for their help. These souls are conscious and are totally different of the necromancer’s minions.
While necromancers use the dead as a pure means, the spiritualist has respect for the deceased and earns their help. That’s the difference. Necromancers use physical bodies, spiritualists use residues of people, persons.
Jumping puzzle action xD
i’m in. woop woop
Maybe if you complain that your own name is offensive they will change it to something else?
Good idea. Don’t like your name, report it xD
Hah, nice one.
Let me counter with this one, overheard at a construction site in Lion’s Arch, a charr to a sylvari while both are hammering some planks, paraphrased.
“Friend of yours?”
LOLOLOLOLOL Sylvari OWNED
Haha sounds like a cool idea, though I have another guild that’s my main guild.
Think I’ll save us some time and list the counter arguments:
-Then everybody can get a legendary, legendaries won’t mean anything
-It’ll flood the market with more legendaries and ruin the economy even more
-There’s plenty of good ways to get legendaries already, we don’t need anymoreAnd the counter arguments to those in order
-There’s already a lot of them out there, they already don’t really mean much beyond a fancy skin. If you aren’t seeing a lot of them you’re not paying attention.
-Economy is based on supply and demand, having more legendaries means more people are buying materials to make those legendaries which means more demand to the current supply.
-If by plenty of good ways you mean Random Number God, and anybody (except those who hit that one in a million chance) can tell you, RNG is not a good thing to rely on. RNG makes Legendaries sort of worthless as its not some herculean task to get it, you just got lucky a lot of times. That the most common ones out of the way? Good, lets hear some new arguments.
Though for my part, it would have to be a very epic questline that would be next to impossible to do on your own or even with a group and even with a group only one person will get the precursor per run. Make the Precursor something you have to accomplish a herculean task to get to represent your actual mastery of the game which is what they’re meant to represent.
I think legendaries should be earned with skill, not gold-farming. They just aren’t legendary anymore, give up on them.
I’ve had these items since August, wth are you talking about… T-T
I want canthan expansion with tengu race unlock!
The best of luck
I checked the site and it’s looking nice. Though you guys might have a hard time getting influence for the guild missions :/.
If it doesn’t work out… my guild on Gandara is casual PvX, so you can join if you want to.
COWCATS YUSSSSSSSS
No way, they’re kittening butterflies with arms and legs 0.0
→ TENGU
→ HYLEK
YES YES YES
We need this so bad. It’s hard to get everyone to know what we’re doing:
- Nobody looks on the guild sites…
- There’s no easy feature in game cause nobody ever pays attention to guild menu, most don’t even know there are messages of the day.
I would like to see as a new profession a soldier totally opposite to guardian. As guardian is more supportive, this new profession, let’s call it hell knight for now, would have more conditional and crowd control skills. Would be nice, and many people want third soldier. Also i would like a fourth scholar something like mesmer, but more wizardlike. With no elements like elemenatlist, or clones like mesmer, no dead summoning like necro too. Like a wizard with more harmony skills, like opposite to mesemer, as it has chaotic skills.
Practically an evil soldier class: this fits in with all the rest:
ADVENTURERS:
+ Ranger
= Engineer
- Thief
SCHOLARS
+ Elementalist
= Mesmer
- Necromancer
SOLDIERS
+ Guardian
= Warrior
- ??
I would just like to see getting all existing classes improved with sub classes for better spezialization, character progression, more skills/traits, new talents and so on.
Everything else, that doesn’t find a place then under the sub professions is a potential thing for a new primary class, if its able to have also fitting sub classes.
Warrior needs following 3 Sub Classes:
- Berserker – spezialized on Damage Dealing (Berserker upgrade gets renamed to “Swashbuckler”)
- Gladiator – spezialized in Control
- Skirmisher – spezialized in Support
Thief needs following 3 Sub Classes
- Infiltrator – specialized in Support
- Rogue – specialized in Damage Dealing
- Saboteur – specialized in Control
Elementalist needs following 3 Sub Classes:
- Arkanist – specializes on Support
- Runologist – specializes on Damage Dealing
- Sorcerer – specializes on Control
Necromancer needs following 3 Sub Classes
- Occultist – specializes in Support
- Witcher – specializes in Control
- Summoner – specialzes in Damage Dealing
Guardian needs following 3 Sub Classes:
- Defender – specializes in Control
- Augmentor – specializes in Support
- Sentinel – specializes in Damage Dealing
Ranger needs following 3 Sub Classes:
- Hunter – specializes in Damage Dealing
- Scout – specializes in Control
- Explorer – specializes in Support
Engineer needs following 3 Sub Classes:
- Alchemist – specializes in Control
- Innovator – specializes in Damage Dealing
- Technician – specializes in Support
Mesmer needs following 3 Sub Classes:
- Bard – specializes in Support
- Mentalist – specializes in Control
- Duelant – specializes in Damage Dealing
———-From that point on, there are only a few class niches left, that could fit as new classes being able to offer also sub classes.
The Visionary
- Oracle – specializes in Control
- Ritualist – specializes in Support
- Shaman – specializes in Damage Dealing
The Lancer
- Dragoon – specialized in Damage Dealing
- Marauder – specialized in Control
- Templar – specialized in Support
That way would have GW2 a much better feel for Character Progression besides getting only some traits and more skills if you could see also your character progressing in its talents becoming able to do more things in the line of specializing either more into damage, control or support with your character.
(Being able to reset your decision like you can reset traits with money, just that this kind of reset would cost a bit more, 1 Gold instead of 40 silver)And this stuff would set the table for Add On Content for at least 3 add ons adding 1 sub class per class.
And the 2 new classes would perfectly fit as additional classes for the Cantha Add On with the nice project name of “Closer to the Stars”, which is most likely the next to come, together with Tengus…
Only stuff I’d change:
- Elementalist (change runologist into something like Sage)
- Guardian (augmentor?)
- Ranger (add sniper instead of hunter)
- Engineer (sapper, specialized in undermining, making explosions)
- Mesmer (add Enchanter instead of Bard and change Duelant in Duelist xD)
yay. artplgmlskjqbhgjqoscjk, fcs q;w , (faceroll over keyboard out of enthousiasm)
It’s working!!!!!
actually no.
1 hour a half …
im goin to McDonalds
Surely things aint THAT bad
Yes they are, we need to get the heavy arms out :/
Anet activated a condition: Real Life – all players are affected by it for a couple of hours (it may stack)
Died. Revive yourself at the next Waypoint
“This waypoint is contested.”
=))
Nah, I guess it has something to do with the Living Story. The attacks are increasing in intensity forcing players to take shelter into the Real World. This is in fact a Group Event.
Will it count for daily?
Only if you slay the Veteran ArenaNet Technicians!
=))

I would rather pay a small subscription fee and get top quality tech support than pay nothing and been kicked out 50% of the time <—( Slight exaggeration)
Only a verrrrry tiny exaggeration. Yesterday I was playing for 1 hour and got kicked out 3 times lol. But hey… lets wait, time isn’t money after all (isn’t it?).
