Offtopic but: anyone interested in buying Twilight for 2200g?
I can get many ascended weapons for the same price.
1997 update definition of assume.
“In 1997, the internet scholar known as Flying C*ckroach determined that the word was in fact not derived from latin, but was in fact derived from the ancient language of sarcasian, which has very different meanings.
In sarcasian, the words define as follows:
as* – from the sarcasian kitten meaning “he with great skill”
u – from the sarcasian hey you meaning “come here”
me – from the sarcasian me? meaning “yes you”
Thus, put together the word means, “he with great skill who is asked to come here, yes”. Roughly translated this can be interpreted as “a talented person who is needed desperately”. Thus whenever you “assume” something, you are in fact asking for someone to help you out with something of great difficulty.
I assume you would find the source of this definition all by yourself.
To be fair you did trash his first solo pretty hard.
I concur. As if these EU soloists took no time & knew everything to kill Lupi on their 1st try.

My post has been in fracted & deleted because I said thanks to Anet for my grandma likes to play fotm 48 and now w/ AR at 55, she got her chance. I have an on line friend who is retired and a grandma, affectionately called “grandma”. She got to level 30s then quit FoTM higher levels because dodging is hard for her and she didn’t want to be a burden to the team. And now she got her chance. If you want her name, I can provide that for you, Anet’s mod.
Don’t think modbots are advanced enough for that
Hmm. The email sent to me said the infraction came from a human … New AI?
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
Haha. I’m going to persuade my “grand**” to go back fractal 30+ and above. She now doesn’t have to dodge. Just spend sometimes to craft ascended weapons and she’s good to go. And time, she has plenty. BTW, she is retired and a grandma.
Off topic: How long does it take to craft ascended weapons, the normal way? Like a month?
Agony should have nothing to do with making fractals easier, only if you can or can’t survive maw.
Yes, it does. For bad players, 3 ticks x 6% damage would allow them to afford more mistakes than 3 ticks x 18% damage.
Legendary Dredge suit = ultimate baddie killer who can’t dodge. Now, even the worst PVT badlord players can sit and heal through the 3 time application room wide(?) agony attack.
3×3×18% ticks were always lethal. Heck, even 6×18% were pretty much lethal in most cases.
Can’t dodge? Sounds like someone fails to read boss animations or just fails doubledodging.
For most people, it’s about failing to read boss animation. For a very few others, their reflex is real bad, even you call it out for them. So they need maximum AR to literally not to dodge. But I can’t use the forbidden word “grand**” here.

Why would you need a WP when it’s the fastest path of all Arah?
…
Job security only works if you actually fix the things that need fixing!
Actually it used to be an inside joke way back then when the original designer couldn’t even fix his own bugs unless he has to redesign the whole thing. And the cycle continues.
it’s not like he did anything while he was here, who cares
Probably because anet wouldnt let him. He couldnt find ways to tie gem store items into his dungeons, so they canned him. LOL
It’s pretty easy to tie gem store to dungeons. It will make you elitists so proud to show off the stuffs only you can have. Or things that make those w/ zillion achievement points proud. And useful if you continue up the ladder. But I won’t tell because it’s unfair that Jon Smith makes more than I do.
When you fix your grammar and post in paragraph form that people can follow, feel free to repost. Otherwise i have no idea what you are trying to say.
Do a search on Google to find some scientific papers about how modern human making senses of bad form contexts. But those papers are applicable to modern human only. Cavemen need not apply.
There are couple more reasons but I won’t say here because it would make the previous reason even pale in comparison. And of course, you would not understand what I’ve just said.

Fixed it for you.

Arah is supposedly part of the end game, and one of the only lvl 80 dungeons (with no downscaling involved). It has been a year since release, I can’t fathom why this kind of stuff hasn’t been fixed yet.
Same thing I do at work. Always leave a couple bugs unfixed.
It would probably be easier just to scale the end reward depending on how much you did. Something like 70% for just completing the dungeon, an additional 50% for killing everything along the way (proportional to how much you killed). Yes, I know that comes to 120%. Buff dungeon rewards, yo!
I think killing mobs w/ a party is cheesy and no need to buff any reward. Basically, what you need to do is hiding behind a women skirt (all my characters are female) and pray to god that she got all the aggro so you can get all the free hits. So what’s really a big deal about killing mobs w/ a party?
I propose to buff reward in Arah for those who love to kill mobs. If you kill those mobs all by yourself, you got 50% buffing reward. And there are plenty of tough enemies to wet your appetite. I guess, after spending a lot of time trying to kill those all by yourself, you would come to the same conclusion as I do: It’s pretty cheesy to kill mobs w/ a full party.
BTW, I skip mobs a lot too. Probably 90% of my time. The only time I didn’t skip is when I teach my personal guild’s members a complete dungeon walk through. Or if I want to learn the attack mechanics of those tough guys when I’m alone because I don’t want to waste the time of my party. They’re good in either way.
And I also create a guild for those loving to kill mobs. The problem is the number of people signing up for it is close to non-existent for a long time (contrary to our non-rep LFG Arah group)
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
No response from the guild lame.
I did invite quite a few people and if they have not bother to accept our invitation within 2 weeks for whatever the reasons, I remove the invitation. If people wanted it bad, they can re-apply. I don’t know if your name on it or not, but your comment doesn’t help for me to extend my invitation.

Maybe dungeon team works in basement to release 7 dungeons revamp at the same time! Have faith.
There is a term for that. Interns.
Every time I even suggest to do a dungeon legit or suggest not exploiting on some boss, I get people calling me names, going overboard on trying to justify or try to alter my perspective on what exploiting is. In the end, I cave. I pretty much have too else I would never beable to do a dungeon run.
When I was farming for the jetpack (that I never got) back in the Molten Factory the 2 most common exploits was standing in the corner during the trap room and stacking under the berserker boss so his attacks wouldnt hit you and he wouldnt teleport.
Run after run after run I would be the only guy standing out in the middle of the trap room, even when we had new people thats never dont the run before. “Stand in the corner, its safe.” they say every time and the new people would. Once at the end, after exploiting on both the trap room and the boss, one new guy actually said “Well, that was easy.” kitten ed me off so much.
But oh man did I love it when they all died on that boss because none of them knew how to avoid his attack once some one like me refused to exploit. Sure the fight was alot longer, but as long as I was having fun it didnt matter.
Fun > Saving Time
I even managed to get a few comments how people didnt expect an engi to be good.I miss that dungeon. enemys with unique skills, manageable hp pools and a boss fight that was more than just avoid the red circles and DPS! well, its a boss so there was still alot of avoid the attacks and DPS but it was different!
I would drop out of the party and look for like minded individuals, or look for contents I can solo if the issue is that bad. You are as bad as those exploiting because you forced your will on others.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
Exploiting isn’t allowed, we just do Anet’s job.
…
No comment.
From gw2lfg.com. Sadly noone of us is in the position to ban people ingame.
So you guys in a way monopolize the service by establishing your own rule? Should Anet be the final arbitrator of this game?
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
Why Arah path’s selling are notorious in EU servers? It doesn’t mean NA has none of it. but I haven’t seen a lot on LFG website (unless I missed it).
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
I don’t see those activities much in NA servers and I have looked at LFG website for those like 4 or 5 times. Wrong timing for me or is it a normal thing for EU servers?
The EU player base is.. special. American players who keep complaining about pugs should transfer to EU for a week and see what a terrible pug community actually looks like. Unless it dramatically changed since I transferred to US servers, the average EU pug couldn’t even handle something like AC so the fact that there is a massive spam of arah path selling and a market that can support that many sellers doesn’t surprise me. And that was the AC pre-revamp. I don’t even want to imagine what AC pugs are like post revamp.
And on US servers you don’t get kicked for meleeing lupi.
Or maybe they need more people like Obal there.
Edited: If Obal just started his LFG today, he probably would have the same problem like Chryzos has because Anet just killed their group’s motivation by nerfing the tokens. So this problem (Arah selling) is laid exact at Anet’s feet.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
I have a feeling path 2’s exploits will be fixed soon.
Or remove the Berlin wall.

You are experienced in ranging Lupi but not experienced in melee Lupi. The 2 experiences are completely different. Most PUGs and new players start at ranging Lupi so you are safe there. And stay where you like doing the most w/ the like minded people.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
I think there are different levels of experienced, most of the people here would rate somewhere from 7-10 in arah, which is very rare, but what I think is needed for an experienced run is 3 or above, 3 probably includes knowing the path, not getting downed a lot in lupi, not taking ages to skip mobs, knowing how to kill the boss, which is enough to get arah p1, p2 and p3 in 25-40 minutes depending on dps, but the thing is, most of the people rate 2 or 1, 0 being completely new, 1 being done it a few times.
I would said there is a passable grade for the whole group per particular instant. Speaking arbitrarily of Lupi fight in melee and assume Lupi has a passable grade at 8 for a solo, 7 for duo, 6 for trio, 5 for 4-5 players, the average grade of a party will determine whether the party could win the fight or not. Range fighting obviously would even lower the passable grade of the whole fight in this particular case. Take longer but easier.
The problem is most players over-estimated their grade because they rarely spend time to solo/duo/trio Lupi (or skipping alone in Arah w/o exploit) to realize how bad they are. So when a couple of weak links introduced , here go the complains.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
inb4 everyone apologizes to Guang again after Mesmers become the new meta.
Like Arah Path 1 is faster than Path 3?
But I do agree that one should apologize about his mistake just to prove that he’s a better person than the other.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
No one should be getting downed at the start of phase 2.
I call total bullkitten on this one. The switch to Phase2 can result in a trainwreck of random things all going wrong at once and the guy who dives on the grubs to prevent multiple stacks is a HERO, not a rookie. A any decent team can even Rez him later on if needs be. The only real mistake in the transition to phase2, which I’ve made a few times I’ll admit, was not saving up a Dodge for it while also not running Endurance Stew…
Of course if you range then you shouldn’t get downed at the start of phase 2.
Experience is a subjective interpretation so unless you qualified your statement completely, you can’t blame them for joining. Besides this sub-forum is mostly occupied by elitists and their experiences are way beyond what you just described. Newbies don’t come here and pretended elitists are kicked into corner so bad, they just have to leave (or be quiet).

Fractals “update” is like fixing the toilet by the village idiots. Every time, they change somethings, more stuffs are on the floor.
Everyone starts somewhere, maybe all it will take for him to prove himself is the right build/team/setting.
Yep. That’s the spirit.
Dub,
You hate Lupi that much? You don’t need to kill Lupi 7 different ways.
If you guys read the latest quarterly report, you would see it’s obvious that Anet will continue to abandon the dungeon, fractal contents and concentrate their resources into living contents. Box sales are down but gem sales are constant. They want that gem sales.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
Nope. English now is the 3rd language. Mandarin is the 2nd.
Nah, because you guys are useful idiots.
Se7en & 1/2. If you want to play the way how you want, don’t come here & crybaby about others wanting play how they want.

There are now 4 completely useless cutscenes before you even fight the miniboss. Why? you can’t even skip them U.U. Why were these added?
Job security.
I think he’s on NA server. He just applied to the NA Arah’s LFG.
I can just get a group and do the path
no selling XD
he said he’s willing to pay, did you really need to offer it for free?
Why not? He’s willing to help, not doing a business transaction and those 2 aren’t the same.
Pugs think Legendary Shoggroth is hard?
I always thought pugs don’t do this path because they can’t do the skips.
Still waiting on any arguments why path 1 is easiest and fastest path, btw.
His clock isn’t working and this time the goo doesn’t stick.
He couldn’t be wrong because he has his spreadsheet as a proof.
Assume his group is as elite as it could be, on Path 1, the Ooze boss took around 2m, the Crystal gangs took around 1m, the Oily guy took around 2:30m from start to finish and the last boss 30s. Total time of bosses are 6m.
Path 3, the 1st mob 30s, the Crusher 1m, the mage 1m and the last boss 2m from start to finish. Total time of boss & mobs are 4:30m.
Path1 run lengths are longer than path 3.
Lupi temple’s fight doesn’t count because it’s a common factor for the same group.
Add spreadsheet fudge factor to subtract 30s from path 1 and add 30s to Path 3, Path 3 fights are still 30s faster than Path 1.
The only thing that could throw his group off to make path 3 is very much longer than path 1 is if his group doesn’t know how to throw the orbs.

Did Rage quit? <——did u see what i did there? Nothing wrong with this boss. Its another L2P as stated in about 30 other threads. It is only difficult when you don’t know what your doing. Any one of these Hijackers in this thread would love to have you tag along in a group with them so they can show you how its done Rage.
mmm…… Probably not
I got a good chuckle out of this.
The North Korea Military Complex Mindset is every where.
ilr,
Those EU people are very conservative in their words.
Dub prob said if you corner Alpha and land a bunch of that FGS skill, you don’t need to dodge.
And all the preq going before doing that.

I think Dub is a part and also apart of that group.
You are correct, assuming gold is the biggest motivator but it does not have to be.
So I edited the title & the suggestion.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
Indeed, the token nerfed did the most damage to new people who need help the most.
What kind of beer you drink Dub?
We have a family only guild and very recent just filled up 5 man party consistently, all relatives or real life friends. So we start running dungeons like AC & CM and other dungeons will be on the list once members level up their toons appropriately.
It’s quite a struggling for my party to learn how to fight against bosses, working as a team, using their appropriate utilities per encounters, skills to skip etc. Almost all of them have around 100 hrs plus or less in game time playing and it’s a triumph for them to down the Spider Queen , Kholer, or bosses in so many tries, failed then tried again. Hours have been invested in beating those guys (or failing)
Which makes me think it would be nice to have a reward bonus for those having minimum playing hours to attempt hard contents. Hard for them that is.
Once you’ve passed certain playing hours, you won’t get any bonus for trying dungeons. This will entice more new players to try dungeons and prolong the life of player base in GW2.
I don’t have a hard idea of how many hours is minimum and where is the cutoff line. Just a thought to help the new players to do a new thing.
Edited: (Credit to ForGreatJustice)
The bonus could be anything and need not necessarily to be gold, but gold is the most direct motivation. Title Achievement like baptism in fire is also sufficed.
(edited by SkyChef.5432)
There are 2 dungeon guilds are willing to help new people running and Knight of Ares is also recruiting. Why not applied to them?
Dungeon thread link as sticky
What would we do without you.
Guang would have to wait for a long time. And the chain reaction might delay even more.
