it is simple and easy to understand, maintain the importance of dolyak
it also inline with how silverwaste tower get upgraded, a dolyak need to reach there otherwise the bar wont fill. theres consistency in the overview of the game

gw2 is a more casual game targeting wide range of audiences unlike all the mmorpg you have played before which target the niche market
of course, the main difference between gw2 and those mmorpg you have played, only the players with perseverance and commitment will reach the late game and thus effectively filter out the casual players, leaving the semi-hardcore and hardcore players.
however, like i said, gw2 is targetting wide range of audiences instead of niche market. but, dont be mistaken, not all current games are like that. generally speaking, many new games are now moving towards sandbox and classless system. there are still many new mmorpgs that follow the grinding way of doing things. there also new mmorpg that trying to relive the hardcore gen mmorpg, where you get to loot from players, i miss that gen, those games were fun.

pk = fight and win win win win!
nothing else
so, pk actually consider the late game since it is the only place that will truly utilize ur top gears
but this is gw2, not the usual kind of mmorpg
so late game will be what u wan to do…if u dun hav anything u want to do, then there is no late game

Where is this BS about i7s bringing out the “full potential” of multi GPUs coming from? The mainstream i5 and i7s are both quad cores. HT on an i7 simply lets a core be a bit more efficient at two threads than if those two threads were simply multitasking. If anything Haswell-E’s ability to allow x16/x16 over x8/x8 probably provides more of a kick.
there are games that are badly optimized for pc, assassin creed for example, though most games should be fine. i5 with some overclocking can be fine for optimized games in long run. though im pretty much talking about all games.
also, meh, since already spending much on getting such a extreme setup, spending another hundred to get i7 wouldn’t kill

i5 is good enough for games
if you going for high end cards and not extreme cards, i5 is good enough
only enthusiast will go for i7 since only i7 can easily bring out the full potential of dual graphic cards
ur processor is the bottleneck
gw2 is processor hungry
amd doesnt work well when come to gaming due to games’ designs
if you want to have higher fps, it is either you overclock it or get intel processor
anet added something and only to remove it later, it show that whoever design it, is a bad planner

Transferring serves costs gems, not gold.
You can buy gems for cash, or for gold. However, the gem exchange cost for gems to gold goes up as more gold is used to buy gems. Which is meant to be a disincentive to buy gems with gold, and use cash instead.
it is because it is. you, as a person, can choose to buy gems using cash but that doesn’t mean that others will buy the said gems using cash. the exchange rate is there for a reason, to sink your golds to make buying cash more valuable and likewise make gems to gold xchange more valuable.

Don’t bother, anet is more concerned in making objectives auto upgrade and removing the guards buffs than actually trying to make matchup balanced.
Might as well just make 3 factions and let ppl join faction to fight eachother like Aika Online.

and meh, aika online is too hardcore for gw2 carebears, doubt anyone in gw2 is willing to port out of dungeons when near final boss to defend
don’t think much people in gw2 is willing to fight a 6 hours long battle with numerous pushes and regrouping
finally, don’t think guilds will listen to one overall commander

i believe silverwaste is part of the living story project
the living story project was thought as a method to bring new contents to the game on incremental basis, replacing the need for expansion.
but i think anet change their mind and decided that a expansion with tons of new things is better than incremental patches

Technically speaking, you are not allowed to share account.
Then again, they can’t determine if you sharing account either unless is different IPs, one from asia another from america with just seconds apart from each logon.
Though this rule is grey, what if friends are trying to help friends to do daily and then back to play their own account? Ermm…. that is sharing too and can be banned.
So, you can have multiple account in one IP.
Not easy for WvW as WvW has a lot of things to complain about compared to PvE and PvP. Furthermore, WvW seems to be neglected and that will add further pressure to the specialist as players will bombard him
Anet is likely do nothing as usual but I still wanna post a very simple solution to population calculation.
If anet has the full statistic of the server wvw population in specific maps over couple of months. Anet can put a very simple calculation fix.
Currently, the WvW already has its cap and that is called queue. So, is there really a need for double cap? Maps cap and server cap? What I propose is simple. The map queues to reflect the server cap. If a server can queue all 4 maps, then set the server to full at that time. If 3 maps, set it to very high. If 2 maps then set it to high. If one map set it to medium, If half map set it to low. All base on real time total population in WvW maps.
This will accurately reflect the server population for WvW for every timezone. Now, you might worry that people will end up stacking up on a few servers. Now, I ask you this, do you like long queues? People who hate long queues will not stack on those already stacked servers. The proposal here is to balance the WvW population by abusing the map cap queue system. Players on the other hand have to make choice, the choice to stack on a super heavy server with long queues or go to other servers with less queue. Anet’s job is to balance the overall population, it is players’ job to find a fun server with acceptable queue.
I did mention about statistic data, not all timezones have enough population to cover all 4 maps. So, anet have to determine the population range for each different timezone and set the capacity range accordingly. For example, SEA timing might be 2 maps queue and server will be full.
Before opening free transfer, it is wiser to fix the population calculation inaccuracy.

If you are already working on something, at least do a soft fix like increasing the cap on particular servers. TBH, I find it puzzling why even the last ranked server is rated Very High.
They could be setting servers to full in order to force the new accounts into the lower tiered servers and bring up their population.
It won’t have desire effects given that there are megaserver guilds going around, these new players might just hop into megaserver guilds and become pure PvERs. Not to forget that there are also existing pure PvErs.

Yes, you have to walk behind the npc or blink behind the npc.
Mesmer, thief and guardian can do those with blink, shadowstep or renewed focus.

Workaround, walk to npc using skills that has invulnerability. You can also use blink or shadow step.
To put it simple, uplevel are like rally bot. Nicer commanders will tell you to stay alive and use range, commanders that don’t give a kitten will just tell you to get lost.
Generally speaking, if a full 80 zerg fight a slightly bigger but mixed 80 zerg, that mixed 80 zerg will have higher chance to lose because they can’t kill the downed as they rally off the uplevels.

Yes, timezone is not stated. WvW is a 24 hour thing, what is like is very subjective to timezone. Even in tier 1, it is not completely balanced, there will be superior timezone for each server.

The guild chat used to display “Bounty Started”, “Challenge Started” and so on. Now, it doesn’t.

not sure abt gemfx, gemfx is still too new and might contain bugs

Some people can’t use guild chat unless they toggle their status to invisible and then online.
Guild chat history disappear after loading every screens to change maps or enter map or whatever, it also disappear when changing chat tabs.
There is only one build queue, it suppose to be two.
the solution to anti blob is always answered with technical limitation, not able to remove the aoe limit of 5 but then u have ac that can hit 50.
that limitation encourage people to stack up, that limitation encourage ppl to blob up.
now, changing the stability, encourage more people to blob up for obvious reason, more people means more cc and ironically, more stability stacks.
the orb was overpowered but yea, instead of nerfing them, they remove it completely
anet obviously think along the line of 1 vs few, basically, pvp. they consider little about wvw.

Another way to log into the game with gemfx/sweetfx on bin is to click on the word “initializing” when youre stuck on that screen.
that’s weird, maybe the launcher UI isn’t changing because of sweetfx
if sweetfx isn’t working, does that means they using a different dx api?
