Henge of Denravi Server

From the preview, it is great to know that tower finally has more strategic meanings.
But, the new tower and keep design seems to favour defender extremely. I fear that the unbalanced WvW population will undermine the fun aspect of the map. That can also be a good thing. In a very unbalanced matchup, you could probably let go of your side objectives, and just hold on to your keep and one last tower, and the choke points could make it easier to defend with less people.
If you lost the keep then, how are you gonna get it back? :O

Also, it is great to know that anet is trying to design it to be closer to a open-world pvp map, with towns and houses and trees and such. Still, unfortunately, it is still not a open-world pvp world because we all know that it is a WvW map, separating from the PvE aspect of the game.

Does that means china gw2 became a experiment server if they implement it there first instead of doing it in na gw2.
Seems to favour blobbing….
so……
no gvg cdi….
he quitting anet….
ermm…speculate speculate xD
absolutely ranger
I see advantages but I don’t see disadvantages. Surely, every so-called solutions have their pros and cons. The point is, does your solution’s pros outweigh the cons?
The proven method of making WvW or War competitive is by making them matters, to do so, simply make it that if your server lose a matchup or even lose your garrison, your entire server will be penalised by it. However, guild wars 2 is carebear so yea, give it up. WvW will stay as it is.
adding support to new api doesnt mean u are removing dx9 completely
anyway, it will still take some time before dx12 or vulkan come into existence
even though anet can first adapt mantle but mantle is proprietary and apparently amd is working with khronos to develop vulkan (next gen opengl) which is based on mantle
either way, i think most players are just asking anet to optimize the game to use more graphic processing power than cpu.
[TIME] is a large singapore-based international PvX guild on Henge of Denravi. We are international which means we are english speaking and also means we have players from many parts of the world. We have an average of 150 people logging day in and out everyday which means we have people online at any time of the day.
We do 3 WvW raids per week for SEA timezone. 3 WvW Raids per week is not what I will consider “heavy”, but then again, guilds that are heavily focused in WvW don’t really do PvE or most of them does it badly and you can trust me in that, I have applicants looking to join [TIME] because their guilds which is heavily focused in WvW are very bad when come to PvE. [TIME] is a balanced guild and we aspired to be not good in only one thing but everything.
On the other days, some members will tag along the SEA WvW guilds in Henge of Denravi.
If interested, Pm or mail me.

This is done when guild wars 2 was released.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/guild-wars-2-performance-benchmark,3268.html
The test has shown that guild wars 2 is CPU intensive, I am not sure how much this has changed since 2 years ago with all the enhancement patches and supposedly performance improvements patches.
If anet didn’t even bother to update it to support directx 10, I don’t think you suppose to see directx12 too.
you will hardly find any guild that focus on wvw/pvp that is casual to that level.
O.o
why will u click 3 times of 400 to get 1200 instead of typing 1200 in custom? O.o
o.O
what….
Question: What is mindset of casual?
it is forgotten… =(
reduce blob is simple….
remove the aoe limit but anet has mentioned it several times that it is set to 5 targets because of technical limitation
unfortuantely, the game is heading towards a direction where the idea of “rebuilding” a server is quite impossible due to lack of population. as the population decline, wvw become inbalance and then it become less fun.
You are mistaken as I see it. The game is moving the the exact direction to build up a servers population. Nothing revitalizes and MMO like an expansion pack.
how sure are you the expansion will have a increase in lasting population? that’s just assumption isn’kitten

i can say that a lot of guilds wanted to get out of their servers because of issues created by population decline, but they want to get out of their servers together as a guild, not leaving their members behind. guild with rich players can transfer themselves out, guilds with poor players will need help to move out.
keep in mind that at the end of the day, guild leaders will always think for the benefit of their guild unless the server have guild leaders who are willing to work things out to make things better for everyone not by just talking but doing as well, otherwise, guilds will just leave for other servers.
there also many other factors in play.
server merging is a clear indication of population decline in gw2
anet need to figure why ppl are quitting the game.
ermm..
there are a lot to talk abt in management, it is really a big topic
i wish the queen is a king instead
is against the rule but yet again, how they gonna find out anyway…..
but u have told us all…ermm…
Yes, from a new player perspective, guild wars 2 is really fun, I was like that too.
But, you will find out that gw2 isn’t that much better than any MMO.
Says this guy^
But this guy (Me) says ‘I have played GW2 since headstart and I am still a fan of this game and I can not stop enjoying it and I can not get back to the other MMOrpg’s without getting frustraited over Quests and stupid race to get to Harvesting nodes and tag an Enemy before another player’.
i played since headstart too, with 20k ap :|

lololololol
cant really leech for guild missions anyway, have to kill for credits
anet is totally afraid of the players backlash if they force a server merger….
but i have seen MMO where all the major guilds in the game asking for merge and the provider refuse to do it, so what many players did it is they stacked on the strongest server….
and eventually, the game is discontinued, lol
omega is ok by itself
army of omega can get wiped with proper scouts
it is totally server population issue like others said, anet have to resolve the population issue.
guild loyalty is hard enough to find…
and now talking about server loyalty…
thats like super rare…
My guild is being sent to a broken instance (doesn’t load) for guild missions, basically anyone who rep my guild will be sent to a broken instance.
Also, somehow I think the WvW development team (if there are any) are too focused in thinking that WvW need better maps to be better but in reality, WvW simply lack features that attract players to play or fix the imbalance of WvW.
Just take a look at PvP, features change to the reward and queue system dramatically changed the population of PvP.
(edited by SkyShroud.2865)
I think players need to be reminded that the thread is a general suggestion to the general WvW environment regardless of what server you are from.
WvW Reward track is a plus, PvP has seen increased number of players due to the reward track and I believe WvW reward track will be able to do the same for WvW population. Furthermore, wintersday ultimate gift can be obtained through PvP reward track which again boost the number of players doing PvP and significant number of them continue to do PvP because they found out PvP can be fun. WvW could really use the benefits of reward track.

Killing a commander is legit tactic. It has been there since years ago.
Anet stated years ago that they raise the pop cap if needed and because of that it is speculated that tier 1 servers have higher cap than the others.
Now for the “Very High” status, if you remember season 3, all servers, including t1 which were full at the time, were changed for that. They do not represent the real population, it was changed only to make all servers ‘equal’.
Could pull some crazy theory here and say the DB being listed as full is anet’s way to try to mend tier 3…
In anyway, would be nice to actual know the regular wvw pop for each server.
That sounds really convincing. Many PvP MMO often have their “capacity” manually adjusted. They don’t determine the population through only system, the system is there only to serve as a temporary measure. They adjust the capacity when necessary based on the actual situation.
In that case, if what you said is accurate, then Anet has actively being part of making servers stacked by continuously increase cap on certain servers and undermine the process of population spreading out across other servers.
T1 is very capable of queuing maps at many different timing, there have been many propaganda that certain T1 servers lack that, certain T1 servers lack this. However, T1 is totally capable of queuing maps on several different timing, not just NA time alone. NA queue on T1 is just simply big when compared to T2. As far as I have gathered, T1 doesn’t lack population (because they have queues), they simply lack experienced and well-trained commanders.
So, how the hell T1 managed to queue so many maps at so many different timing IF the population system is SAME for every server? That is like saying T1 do not have PvE players but we all know that is false, those who are here before megaserver knows very well how big T1’s PvE population is. Back then, the lower tiers are also rated “Very High” but their WvW population is so low and their PvE population is pretty much empty too, so where does that “Very High” comes from?
Yea, anet need to fix this. It has been mentioned many times over several threads.
Before they can implement alliance system, they need to have a purpose for the alliance and not just mere social benefits or guild missions.
They also need to consider the effect towards WvW.

Erm…
Considering that you can purchase an upgrade to deluxe pack of GW2 through gems, which also means that Anet is not making any profit by doing that but still doing it for the benefit of players.
Anet while on one hand has to consider the possible profit they can made from the expansion, they also need to consider the possible number of players they gonna lost due to expansion simple because there are some players who refuse to spend more money.
There are a lot of considerations, not just profits or number of players.
As a player, I would of course love to use golds instead of spending more money, which is the reason why I bought GW2 which is a buy to play game. But, if the only option for expansion is to pay, then, just have to go along with it like all other retail titles.
if you didnt win by using exploits or cheats, ur win is legit, the other side is a sore loser
expansion….
hard to believe there will be expansion…
is more like a guild wars 2 v2.0
i only know that reporting exploits in the forums with details of how the exploits work are not allowed because it others might start to use it.
my exploit report was deleted because of that =X
I die in the jumping puzzle but the skirtt isn’t coming out to ress me, bug?
edit: juz notice the grammar lol

I suggested the first option too! Not sure what is in the work, we all know the “server” term is pure confusing to new players.
donations will be appreciated, hope to see 1k gold in my mail when i woke up =P
As said by the two gentlemen/ladies, those grinds are optional thus I don’t think it is accurate to say the game is grindy because of optional grinds.
However, there are many cases of MMORPGs where grinds are not optional, so those MMORPGs are considered grindy.
So, conclusion is GW2 is not grindy since all the grinds you speak of are not necessary for the progression of the game.

How important is RNG in this game?
Not important, there is no such thing as “unique” or super powerful rare drops. All gears and items are obtainable in several ways and gears are relatively easy to obtain. How grindy is it to reach level cap?
You don’t grind, you do quests which is indicated as “Hearts” on the map. You also explore to gain experience. Yo also do personal story to get more experience. You can also do dungeons to get more experience but nowadays people kick you if you not level 80. You will get to level 80 within a few days if you plays a lot of within a week if you play regularly for couple of hours per day. What is the wow factor of this game?
Not grindy, buy to play, constant updates. How hard is it to get OP gear in this game?
As mentioned before, there is no OP gears, the highest tier gears are relatively easy to obtain either through time or golds or farm. How Pay2win is this game?
Little to none. You can buy gems and convert them to gold to obtain highest tier gears but it doesn’t matter much. Those gears doesn’t give you imbal advantage. What are the bad things about this game?
If you come from a grindy open-world PvP type of game with many customizations on equipments and lots of grinding but you love them, then this game will get boring for you, either because it is too easy or too casual.Does this game give a real reason to keep playing even after I reach cap?
Personally, I do achievements, some pvp and some WvW. It is pretty much a open-ended game with no directions. The buy to play is really a plus factor that keeps me playing since there isn’t any other b2p game that interest me yet.Don’t know any other questions but you get the idea.
Is a casual game, if you tired of the grindy and hardcore play style of those games you played, maybe this is a good change of pace.Good, but remove all parts where you refer to the game as not “grindy” – that’s the only fault. There is enough to establish a lot of parts of the game as “grindy”.
PS: Best or “OP” Gear are Legendaries, correct?
And you have to Grind dem mats, and RNG dem pre-cursors to get to that.
If you have played many f2p MMORPGs, you will then understand what it really means by grindy. Gw2 is nothing in comparison.
