And you can just pay with ingame gold so whatever.
If he likes riding champ trains and speed running dungeons then you are correct. But the game was suppose to be fun…
PS. I would love to pay for the opportunity to be able to earn all those skins in the game.
Never mind that with all this stuff pumped out, and the ridiculous, artificially fluctuating, exchange rate for gems, it’s nuts. It isn’t as if there are a limited number of gems available, if there were, there would be points where you couldn’t buy ANY. It’s just an equation based on activity. Activity forced by making stuff all gem store. Gold/Gem prices have more then double since summer. 50g wont even get you enough for a skin set, or a char slot
Just to clarify, even the original Guild Wars got it’s name from a war that was over by the time the game took place lore wise so it really was Post Guild Wars and this is Extra Super Duper Post Guild Wars 2 Ultimate Extra Overness Edition. If Anet uses that title for GW3, I don’t even want a check, just a character in my likeness voiced by Claptrap.
Well, name after the guild wars era is irrelevant. This one is supposed to be about fighting the elder dragons….. and ALLL of these ‘updates’ have been about everything BUT fighting the elder dragons. At this point, I’ve completely abandoned any hope they will introduce any of the other elder dragons into the mix. All they will do is make the lieutenant dragons so hard to fight they will end up like Teq. Dead zones that only get done by a few die hards and cross server alliances to get enough to do it. And once people get to the point, as with Teq, that the wait to reward ratio for doing the event is totally borked, it will be the same.
At the start of LS, I was jacked. I thought with the Flame and Frost stuff it might be leading to either Jormag or the Devourer Dragon being introed. Nope. Tho I loved the Molten Facility stuff. Now….. Still haven’t bothered with TA, what do I need with another godawful fugly back skin? Didn’t do the Aether dungeon either, past one attempt. Just couldn’t summon up the give a kitten .
Working as intended. Racial elites are supposed to be bad comparatively. If charr racial elites were really powerful than all the competitive people in WvW would be charrs and some guilds would only recruit charr characters. I like race diversity
If by working as intended you mean nuggets that drop out of my butt are more useful, then yes. They are. OTher then a lol or to play around in LA, they are utterly worthless and not even remotely worth the SP they cost, even if you have so many it doesn’t matter. Racial skill aren’t worth a fart in, even, a closed room.
Dancing Dagger (#4 dagger skill): You cant expect to hit someone running away all the time, then this skill would be TOO good.
Cloak & Dagger (#5 dagger skill): Don’t Miss!!
Death Blossom (#3 dagger/dagger skill): Very useful in D/D for evasion and getting behind your target for the important damage from behind or flanking trait.
Dommmmmmmmmm has covered the rest.
This isn’t even a valid argument.
Edit: But I’ll play along.
Dancing Dagger (#4 dagger skill): No, this is what the dodge was meant for avoiding these attacks.
Cloak & Dagger (#5 dagger skill): Don’t make stupid arguments.
Death Blossom (#3 dagger/dagger skill): People will turn around the moment you use it on them, unless they’re running away, this skill moves very slowly.
Doesn’t matter if they turn around. It may not be fast, but it cripples to. Just because it doesn’t suck your builds kitten, doesn’t mean it isn’t useful to others.
Very easy solution. If a player D/Cs or leaves, a replacement player may join. If a player is kicked, that spot is locked and a new player may not fill it without the group going back to the beginning.
No. It would be far too easy to use this to troll. There are many legit reasons to kick some one who hasn’t dc-ed.
How? It’s talking about KICK, not quit. If they are being kittens and kicking someone at the end, either kittens or slot selling, then they deserve to get their run just as screwed as the person they kicked.
Yeah. Human or Norn, most of the beards look like kitten. Gimme the Cmdr Riker. I ain’t teenie growing a wispy, nor am I a caveman who has never heard of scissors. Ain’t wearing braids either.
FYI — I’m a Latin American gamer who was born and raised in the United States. Just so we’re clear.
I don’t feel as if the original post is racist at all. It is mentions some important points. We do have international non-English speaking players logging onto the American servers. I’ve seen a few non-English speaking Koreans Germans, and Latin Americans on the TC server late at night (Pacific Time). So I completely sympathize with your situation.
For the time being, it may be necessary to change servers, so you can join a decent zerg for WvW. The Tarnished Coast server has mostly English speaking gamers.
Lastly, IT IS RUDE for an non-English speaker to be speaking a foreign language on an American server for events like WvW, where it is necessary to communicate plans and instructions to other players in the zerg. In my real life community, many of us Hispanics won’t speak Spanish if it will leave the English speakers feeling alienated. No one wants to feel like an outsider.
That leads me to another point. Speaking in a foreign language also makes other players on the team feel left out and unwanted. Plus, a zerg that doesn’t have good commuication among its members is a failed zerg.
WvW can only be won with teamwork. That’s my 2 cents.
Pretty much exactly how I see it. If you are deliberately speaking so other people around you can’t understand you. You are being deliberately and provocatively rude. Essentially trolling for someone to bash with the inevitable racist stick they always use when you call them on their bullkitten.
I hope that ArenaNet does something about it, the server is an English Server. I dont mind people speaking in their Native language. But I want them to keep it in a channel where others dont mind. And specially not public channels like /say and /map
As was pointed out in the previous thread, there is no such thing as an “English” server. Any server not labelled as a specific language (e.g. [FR], [DE], etc) is international and anyone is free to speak any language they like in those servers. What you should be pressing ANet for is an English-only server.
Not really. Any server not labeled as a specific language, is the default international language. Which, despite all the knickers that get in a knot from various nations, IS English. You wanna chat up in anything else, you can whisper, chat in your group, or in the growing number of nationality guilds.
Me, I just block ppl who insist on talking in other languages. if they don’t want people to understand them, then they aren’t worth listening to, hence, aren’t worth wasting my chat scroll on and missing stuff I actually want to read.
if you want duels have them in an arena, i am getting sick of all the kids challenging me and crying afterwards that they lost.
please keep it out of PvE places, an arena you can watch in PvE i am fine with but PvP in a PvE place is simply not ok.
and even if there is an auto-deny request, you still have ppl annoying you, killing your enemies and bunny hop around you all the time until you give in or travel away.Ok, thats a valid point, what about pvp servers?
What about go to the mist and use an empty arena?
they are adding open world dueling at some point. It’s mentioned in a interview and i will dig it up if anyone likes…i try to post it everytime a duel thread gets made…which is like once a week.
As for inspect, i’m all for it, but blablabla elitism blablabla this argument never goes well. It boggles my mind how ‘end game’ in GW2 is collecting various exotic gears but no one can look at them beyond seeing your character avatar, and then people argue to keep it that way.
Not wanting inspect has nothing to do with elitism. It has to do with it’s none of your kittening business. Anymore then it’s your right to walk into my house and look through my closet. You wanna know, you can ask or kitten off.
Less and less. With each update, it becomes more of a grind fest. With each skill change, it becomes more of a ‘play the way the devs say’ game. With each update, I play less. Getting to the point where I can only play less by not playing.
Pretty much only playing with my friends keeping that from happening at this point.
Dumb as a bag of hammers
Says a guy who doesn’t play grenades….. made my day.
Heaven forbid someone not wanna double tap every kittening attack. Or have arthritis. Or my god, not want to use the same kittening build everyone else does, Or worse yet, PLAY IT YOUR WAY.
i doubt you even used rocket turret’s toolbelt to begin with wich would explain why you hate the change 7-9k damage with 1500 default range is a massive buff if used right and hey since it has a lengthy landing time you can throw a grenade barrage right after the rocket and bam instant AoE death try it in wvw before complaining
I’m turret build with pistol/shield, and flamethrow. I’m always using the kittening belt. The new rocket takes so kittening long to get there, your target has time for tea and can drag themselves out of the zone on their kitten and still not get hit. Because, yeah, I’m gonna notice a change on a skill I don’t use. Brain damaged
Why the hell did you have to change the way the rocket belt attack works? Fighting in a cluster kitten and now instead of a quick tap you have to target it like the grenades, WHICH I ALREADY DON"T USE ON LAND FOR THE SAME kittenING REASON.
Thanks for making a fun little quick attack USELESS
…clap…
…clap…
…clap…
Oh, and make it slower too. Dumb as a bag of hammers
can’t say I’ve ever touched the “free camera” option. I remapped A and D to strafe left and right as soon as I got the game, and have only ever used the mouse to turn my camera.
Very much this. Remapping a/d to strafe is the first thing done. The mouse is for turning, not keys.
I guess I missed the Official Manifesto Explanation video then.
Good thing they made it known for everyone who didn’t spend time researching every bit of information posted on unofficial sites.
And the trainload of comments on said clarification in kittenloads of threads…… keep beating that dead horse. I’m sure it will get up and run someday.
I can’t kill them on my own but there is a huge pressure in the chat NOT to kill a champ before a train arrives. And I don’t like that. That is my message.
Get together with a couple friends and kill them. When the kittens qq at you. Laugh emote at them. They don’t own the champs, and they don’t get to tell you how to play your game. I roll a few cycles with them sometimes, tedious boring crap, usually can’t stand doing it more then 3 or 4 turns around the loop.
But then: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrgpZ0fUixs
is practically my personal Anthem.
It’s already a fail on Anet’s part that players had to guess/extrapolate when the event was going to end.
Yeah. Cause a track record of every single edition of LS being two weeks made it a big secret how long it would last this time………….
The difference is that the other world bosses ARE being completed each time they spawn. Which is why I argued that completion metrics are a better tool that population.
Other world bosses are completed even lets say 90% of the time to be nice. Teq was completed 22 times but he spawned at least 612 times (not counting OF, which is where TTS kills him). Which is a less than 4% completion rate compared to 90%.
To base this on the number of times he spawn is misleading, because the player base has decided concentrate and focus on specific times for maximum efficiency.
Is there really a point of counting a Teq fail, when no one shows up? (If a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound?). It makes no sense. No one failed anything, because no one was there. Again, in the other thread, I have used certain escort quests in Brisbane as an example. They get done 100% of the time they spawn, but are done once every week. Very misleading.
By far the best metric is to gauge how many players participated, and completed it. And due to TTS, I imagine this is very high, because for players who want to do Teq, TTS remains easily accessible.
Yes there is a point in counting it. Because when other encounters spawn, as easily tracked by various websites, ppl show up, and DO it. Without having to create one trick pony guilds aimed at gaming the system to create overflows to take down an open world encounter. All you do is show up. shout out in map that the event has started, and people show up, it gets done, ppl move on. Try doing that with fail Teq. There are plenty more people who would want to do Teq then do it, if it wasn’t for the pain in the kitten it is to take the time to game the system creating spawns, getting there up to an hour before the kitten event in the first kitten place, sitting around with your thumb up your kitten , for the ‘satisfaction’ of saying you took part in it. For the chance of getting that so special drop.
Not count Teq cause no one shows up. Pathetic. No one shows up cause they screwed up the entire event, unlike Brisbane, which was only occupied by people doing map clear in the first place. As pathetic a straw man argument as I’ve ever seen.
Lets take 2 months off to eradicate the vast majority of pointless threads that clutter up the living world sub forums with QQ about things that were subject to change and broken promises and the hundreds of scarlet hate threads it mite make the GW2 community look less like a bunch of mewling children.
Yes, cause mentioning coding was all about QQ about broken promises, scarlet hate, and whatever other crap you are projecting on it.
Doin a pile of mewling yourself there, elsewhere too.
- We do not actually see a truly dead Zhaitan, or have his corpse.
.
Of course not. What do you think all that Zhaitaffy was.
What you call fun, I call needless busy work. I like my waypoints just fine.
I’m just sitting here wondering who exactly is standing behind him, holding a gun to his head forcing him to use them. And why did he let him in the house?
Question: Why do you think joining TTS is an extreme?
It has no rep requirement, no requirements to join, no requirement to guest, no requirement to use voicechat.
TTS is available to all players wishing to participate. It is not some elitist guild. It welcomes all players with open arms.
The point is it shouldn’t need to exist.
I’d search out a clip of Peanut going ‘neeerrrow’ over his head. But I have other things to do.
WvWvW Elitists…..
I am a so called PVE leech ruining all your fun. If big lags and zerging is it, u can have it…
When the meta is over u won’t see us leeches anymore because that game mode is just lame in general. Anet put in some effort to seduce PVE’rs to try out WvWvW but I doubt that will last in current state. So as a PVE i agree remove meta APs and rewards from WvWvW and give them to everyone. So i wont have to farm in that legfest.
Don’t need to give you anything. You already have plenty from the %90+ of the APs already being PvE based. Not to mention all the bonus stats all the people actually contributing to WvW give to the PvE side, vit buff, gather buffs, all that long list of buffs that are in the WvW tab you can’t be bothered to think about, but kitten , you sure are entitled to them with no effort on you part.
Ah, I’ve seen people dropping FGS’s before, but they just get picked up so fast xD I’ll have to ask specifically, then. Thanks!
Drop your own. You can kick ppl off your own siege.
Or don’t. I bet you anything the world will turn and the sun will still rise…
Well, seeing as the “add said to medium or low” and all the server pops I see are “high, very high, of full” then what medium server would there be? Seemed like more of a troll sale then a real one.
There are gonna be plenty of people who finish the meta, that barely contributed anything to their server during the seven weeks. But, sadly, they get the same reward as the people who worked hard to get their server to finish where it does.
What about all of the players on Anvil Rock that work their butts off just for the slight chance that we might get second place? We simply don’t have enough players for WvW. It doesn’t matter if our WvW players are gods of theory crafting, organization, strategy, and combat (which we are not). In the end it’s just a matter of who has the bigger zerg. It’s kind of funny because that’s what determines your “server performance.”
Why don’t you step into my shoes for a moment? Know that you can do NOTHING to stop defeat. How does that make you feel?
Probably the same way GoM players felt when your server was on the way up. You aren’t a snowflake, this ain’t PvE. I still have a special despite for AR being on that receiving end, ain’t gonna pretend sympathy now that you are.
Has nobody thought they COULD change those asset files when they finalize the release….to avoid everyone knowing what the final look will be before it’s available?
Yeah….I doubt it too, but it is possible.
Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished. Barely granted that some of the stuff is tolerable with right colour combos, barely. As it stands, I think its a clever ploy to sell blue trans stones. And with the steadily increasing cost of the gold price for them, more will use real money, having already used most of their gold earlier, driving up those prices. (might have bought char slots, town clothes for them and trans stones so they weren’t using fugly pearl weapons once I crafted them ^.^ )
:P
I have no real idea. Sure. you can boost it to whatever. But without know what the base drop rate for items is beyond vague bafflegab like “rare chance” or “extremely rare chance” it’s meaningless. The base rate could be so minuscule that boosting it by %400 = you’re still more likely to to get hit on by the latest Playboy Bunny kinda odds.
Kill everything in your path towards that lvl 61 thing? The plethora of hearts, poi and vistas, all dropping xp on you like mana. A lvl is nothing hard to come by. Hell, ainlt hard doing these things underlvl, if you are careful. Max disparity I’ve done is Claw 10 lvls low. Sure, is a group thing, group don’t take the hits for you tho.
Thief: Longbow or Rifle (we don’t have 1200 range, so, yeah.) and OH Sword.
Least it’s better then when I made my first toon. Back then you could throw your dagger as far as your bowshot. Least the bow hits 900 now.
By no grind it means you get full exotics. Ascended is optional, skin is optional. Did you needed anuthing else than exotics before ascended kicks in ? No, you were fine with it, and so you are today. And don’t say something about how it would be unfair in WvW, they eased it for WvW to get ascended trinket. The weapons don’t give much advantage, a mere 8% on stats, on your global stat it is insignificant since you have the trinket. Doing daily is not grinding, plus if you do it in PvP, it usually takes 3 matches, you won’t have to do the pve one.
Typical, specious strawman argument. Moving on….
Engineer – anything, anything at all, with decent damage/attacks.
Yeah. If you don’t want to run round with a flamethrower all the time, P/Sh is pretty much only decent choice. Do P/P for lol’s (pitiable ranged flame attack and glue? really?) and rifle for giggles when doing that knockdown shot. But other then that, useless.
I have 8 toons, in order of creation: Norn Thief, male. Charr Guard, male. Human Warr, male. Human Necrocutie, female. Norn Elehottie, female. Norn Ranger, female. Human Enig, female. Norn Mezzmerizing, female.
Like em all for various reasons. Norns I like better tho. Nicer view, well, the females anyway. They have nice cultural armour too. Like it better then any of the male human. Like some of the female human cultural. None of the charr. Not into spikes and crap everywhere.
Yeah. No grind in daily gate for getting mats for Celestial gear, no grind in the ridiculous comp req’s for lvling ascended and making ascended components, no grind in getting 100k candy corn for stuff for halloween, or the wings in dragon bash….
Nope, no grind here. Moving on….
I have a lv. 80 toon for each profession. I play all of them a lot, and all are in full exotic a/ mostly ascended trinkets. I have no problems remembering how to play each well. The problem I do have is the ridiculously boring map completion on each and the fact that each levels separately in WvW.
Yes. hate the separate lvls in WvW too. AND not getting the xp from previous play added to new ranking. After all, they have the achieve counts RIGHT THERE to base retroactive wxp off of. My thief would be sooooo much higher then my ranger if past play mattered. Mention them cause only put those two in WvW yet. But the thief has something like 10 times the playtime in WvW, yet half the rank.
I have 8 80’s and play them all. Don’t have much problem switching mental gears between styles. It’s odd tho. Not sure why it doesn’t seem to trip me. Well, it does for a bit if I neglected a toon for to long, like my 1st one, the thief. Was rusty as hell today with him cause he’s been neglected for some months. But as long as I regularly roll thru them it seems to keep the reflexes and muscle memory up.
One 80 of each profession.
If they are intentionally farming each other than that goes against the spirit of the gamem mode and should be banned. Other games do not encourage such a gamestyle.
Oh shut up. They are getting their laurels a bit faster. There are plenty of arenas that are empty they do it in, just cause you jumped in on them doesn’t mean they have to accommodate you.
And crafting can be leveled with time (30 minutes a day to do Ori/Ancient wood runs).
And do the 30 minutes a day to mine Ori/Ancient also give you the 60+ globs of ecto and 60+ T6 mats needed to level up one profession?
If that’s the only thing you do? No of course not.
Are you really expecting to max out on everything in the game, and get the next step up of gear without putting any effort in at all? Without playing the game?
Doing ANYTHING ELSE in the game will get you globs of ecto and T6 mats, are you expecting to sit in LA and just have materials flow into your collection?
Do you and others want to do nothing in the game and be rewarded?
Ahh, the typical brainless strawman “do you really expect to get X for doing nothing” argument. Maybe what they expect iss to be able to do something BESIDES feed the grind to be able to craft one, much less multiples if they have the temerity to roll alts.
Your specious argument is specious.
Don’t take anything for granted with Anet. If you want to do something, do it now or this kind of thing happens.
Now from my point of view, just one run of the new path gives you the meta. If you don’t have the meta by the 2 week times, it means you NEVER ran the aetherblade path and hence you don’t deserve the meta.
Like me. But then, I didn’t want that hideous back piece. Or yet another mini I was never going to spawn.
(Speaking of, why the hell can’t we toss Balthazarr risen priest minis in the toilet. Bunyat’s will say cause they are free, but they aren’t, they cost karma to buy the boxes they come in, and after I have 1, why do I need a stack?)
PITA enough to gather mats for legendary grind, much less grind a meta with a worthless reward.
You lost me at expansion. I ain’t paying $60 for additions to this game when they’re giving them out for free.
Well you get what you pay for…
That and “expansion” means permanent content “exxxxxppaaannnnndinnnng” the game. Temporary loot farms are not expansions.
I don’t want to take the time to go over all of your points and why they don’t make sense, so I’ll just say that your logic is very different than most and leave it at that. I’ll also post this simple equation.
New content + old content > New content
My arguments make sense once you understand what the Living World is. Go read those interviews I posted. Don’t reject Living Story until you know what it is.
People not buying your argument doesn’t mean they don’t understand what LW is. It means they think it borked up crap.
The problem with Tequatl is that the entire difficulty of the fight comes from organizing your raid and not from the fight mechanics.
This is exactly why I just cannot be bothered to try this fight again, despite having been so pumped about it before it was released — and one further reason to shake my head in disbelief at the developers, who sometimes seem to display a complete and utter lack of a clue about how to make an MMO “work”. When I play a game, I want to actually play it, not stupidly sit on my butt for over an hour in hopes of “reservering” a spot in the “right” server/overflow.
Tequatl as it is now really should be instanced. It was stupidly easy before, but at least it was not a logistical nightmare.
Pretty much. Have killed him, multi times. Can’t be assed to guest to a server doing a take down to sit in a map with my thumb up my rectum for an hour waiting for spawn. Or worse, hitting their overflow and trying to zone in for an hour.
If they wan’t to make it like this, they can A: ad 5 or 10 mins to the timer. 5 is really all it needs. Make it more friendly for those who aren’t wasting all their game time farming him.
B: Take him off the brain damaged window and make it regularly scheduled, so people can actually play the dam game till his timer is up and then go there 10 mins ahead and get organized. Rather then grow a beard waiting for the friggin random window to spawn.
I login to play the game. Not stand around in a mob of semi afks waiting for a chest of loot I coulda got multiple times over in the time I was standing there with my thumb up.
Hence. I rarely do teq anymore. Standing around for an hour with my thumb up hardly qualifies as fun. Since as others have said, the only way you are getting on the map when he spawns, is if you are on a server that doesn’t bother doing him anymore.
2 or 3 dozen 503’s. Repeatedly hitting reload to load a screen I was just on when going back a page. Site needs a cleaning. Do some chores.
~more~ And counting. Takes multiple reloads to post a reply. Multiple reloads to goto a new thread, or back up a page. I’d say my 503 count is easily into 3 digits by now.

So, a new event brings new skins…hard to get as always but always cool!
As usual the GS (Chiroptophobia in this case) gets all the love. How cool are the bat animations!
Sadly however Im a ranger, and cool skins are so hard to come by, (I refuse to wear flowers or unicornsIf i was a big tank dressed in metal i would have a handful of cool GS skins to choose from..
So i was pretty stoked to get myself a cool Araneae spider bow. I was pretty happy with my new toy, until some big Charr came by sporting his bat sword, with sweet animations :/ … creepy little bats flying around
Even the Bloody Prince scepter got some animation…
How hard would it have been to show the bow a little love…just once? How about it drops little baby spiders when wielded?? or even cooler make it shoot webs when fired…
So thats my beef… just once… show us rangers an act of kindness and give us something cool too …Um…You do realize that rangers can use great swords right?
Not worth dropping a 1h sword to use a GS skin.
Depends on the build, GS is better than the 1h in alot of situations
No kidding. I haven’t used a one hand on my ranger in months. Carry it around in case I feel like it, but rather the GS. That said. I STILL hate, HATE, the change they made to the GS. 3 stacks of vuln for a few seconds is useless crap.
Not sure what part of the concept of reusing content from the cycle of updates, with tweaks, went over your heads. Kinda hard to be reusing something, while making it all shiny and new. Apparently that was to hard a concept for people to grasp.
no need to change anything..
it is good as it is now
and random location after reset will make it just a little hassle for botter
Is no such thing, they just warp from node to node int he first place. You think the script they are running that has them appear out of thin air to tap a node and warp to the next one gives a flying kitten at a rolling donut where the node is one spawn from the next?
Yeah this whole time gated on Celestial is crap,it took me 2+ months to make the armor and weapons for two of my toons.
Maybe we should start PLAYING the game and ENJOYING it just for the sake of getting a good time, and whine less about why we can’t get ALL the equipment we want in just one hour…
Really, two months to craft two whole sets of the most time consuming armor doesn’t look like too much effort to me. In other games I had been though almost a year just to get a whole set.
Who said one hour, puckwallow? Thing is, at 5 charged crystals per ANYTHING, to make a full set of gear for one toon, ONE, much less alts, is 30 crystals for the armour, 25 for the jewelry, 5 per weapon, which can be another 30 if you like having multiple sets for different situations. So you are talking 2 to 3 months of charging crystals, for the sake of a stupid, slack-jawed, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing, drooling mechanic. And to give prigs like yourself the chance to make strawman arguments in the forums that are pointless and as stupid as the mechanic itself.
