Everyone who did not vote earned cash

Fair? It is fair.
Those who voted and took part in the election system got what they wanted. They were able to take part in something and vote for a candidate they wanted.
Those who didnt care about a virtual election of some NPC got nothing for this except token for an event they didnt care about. This is what those people get out of it.

What? As far as we knew there was 1 and only 1 use for these…voting. On top of that it took loads of clicking to vote. Had we known these would have any value I highly doubt many players at all would have used them outside of maybe 10 for the achievement. I know I used multiple stacks of these just b/c there simply wasn’t any use of them or value to them. Now I am told had I not wasted my time I would have been rewarded with a heafty amount of gold? Nah…this is udder crap.

Key words: A far as we knew. Which is why throwing your kitten out BEFORE you know what is going to be done with them is dumb as a bag of hammers. I used mine, but have some cause the tokens kept dropping anyway after polls closed. Also have a couple stacks of buttons. Hope I can sell those. Either way, with the wallet freeing a kitten load of slots from dungeon tokens, ain’t cramped for space. No one held a gun to your head and forced you to delete before you knew what would be done with things. Any of you.

While the Citizen of Tyria for a Better Tomorrow Tomorrow fully support Evon we must congratulate Kiel on a well earned victory.

Who cares for Kiel, let that hag run the buisness. Now let’s talk about Abaddon, the guy we’ve been all really voting for. How high are the chances we gonna get a Living Story Chapter dedicated to him and his glory?
It’s not like we need to get more stories about the petty consortium, or some smelly pirates. A round up on Abaddon is what 48% of the community wants. Seems too much to ignore, don’t you agree?

If we all had been voting for him, kinda woulda won. Hate to burst your bubble with a little pesky reality.

What’s funny is that if Evon had won, all the Evon supporters would be telling the people who wanted the Reactor Fractal to “suck it up” because “even if it was 52%, Evon won, and that’s that.”

Irrelevant. Those people saying ‘Evon won and that’s that’ would be in the wrong in this scenario.

If Evon had won by such a small margin, it would have been equally acceptable to say ANet should make Thaumanova as well. The issue here isn’t which candidate won. The issue is that the player base is split right down the middle and catering to one half but not the other is an awful decision.

Small margin? The Dems called a similar margin a landslide.

This isnt about what happened in GW1, you need to get your facts straight.
This is about fall of Abaddon, this is about events pre-dating any content you played in the first game.

How is fighting alongside 5 gods to kill a 6th not going to epic?
Pull your heads out of the ground and vote for Evon.

Cause don’t give a flying frig at a rolling donut about pre gw2 lore? And even less about fractals in general? While I may get some slight enjoyment out of finding yet more justification for my hate of asura, little Mengela channeling horrors. Tho I doubt it. Fracs only see me when guildies drag me in. So. Not caring bout fractals, don’t gamble on boxes, leaves, just the WP of any value at all. ching

Why do people like Kiel?

in Cutthroat Politics

Posted by: Sleel.8365

Sleel.8365

I don’t know why people like her. She’s a Lionguard. She’s just doing her job, that doesn’t necessarily means she’s a good guy. I don’t see anything wrong with Evon that makes him a bad guy. He’s just doing his job too. He’s got the better fractal, imo, so he gets my vote.

Because bad ppl don’t tend to join a force dedicated to helping ppl out, securing trade routes and defending every peon on the road from every ooglie booglie they pass? Those kind of people go into politics. Like Evon. Who comes across like every slimy politician in every campaign I’ve lived through.

There’s plenty of bad police men in the world. If they give you orders that you don’t agree with and start stating your rights they get scared. There’s also people who go into the army because they don’t have anything to do with their life. This doesn’t always mean they’re a good person. I’m not saying Kiel is going to become elected and start killing people left and right, because I think if she does get elected Lion’s Arch is still going to be the same place with small changes here and there. I’m just saying you don’t have to be a good person to follow orders and get paid.

Apparently you have a hard time grasping the qualifier ‘tend’. It doesn’t imply exclusivity. Nor are police forces and militaries rampant with slack jawed droolers. Those are the ones who may try to join, but get washed out. Being able to see lighting and hear thunder aren’t the only requirements.

Anyone else hope that...

LOL… no, I think I’m middle/working class (?) (I have a friend who works at a bar — is that right?) and I never finished the personal story.

I just don’t like these one-dimensional characters that we have in this game. Especially when they are not believable. C’mon.. an egalitarian queen? What’s next? We find out that she was voted into office a la Star Wars Ep1?

Oh noes. An egalitarian queen. As unrealistic as a corrupt, democratically elected politician…..

Low-level Champs die fast because the downward scaling of players is still off and still leaves you much more powerful than an actual low-level player.

So buffing the champs to accomidate high-level downscaled players would make the champs too difficult for actual low-level players. Not a good idea. You can’t assume that there will always be high-level players around to even it out.

They could maybe up the scaling a bit so that the champs are a tougher against massive groups, perhaps, though.

Only really nessicary in low-level areas, I think, though. The higher level champs seem fine, to me anyway.

Yeah. Buff the lowbie champs cause of downlvls. Screwing over the lowbies actually starting out. Good thinking that. Sharp as a 2×4

Gold Find - To follow MF nerf?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sleel.8365

Sleel.8365

Some of you don’t seem to understand the issue with magic find at all. The problem is that you are purposely gimping yourself, choosing to be weaker in order to get better rewards. This is both incredibly selfish and incredibly disrespectful to those you are playing with. If you use MF in any way except solo play, you are a leech and a horrible person.

It doesn’t matter at all if the new system can achieve as much as the old, the only thing that matter is that it’s gone. It is disgusting as it is now.

If you are telling other people how to play their game, that they paid for, with their free time, for their enjoyment. Because that’s how you play. You are a snob, and a horrible person. When you pay for their gear and their game, and their connection, then you can tell them how to play.

What part of co-operative play do you not understand? How unbelievably selfish do you need to be not to see how wasting other people’s time for your own benefit is a poorly implemented system?

When you run content with other people, it is very simple, you are either playing to the best of your ability, or, if you ran with MF, you are choosing to hold everyone back for your own greed.

Your “argument” is the most utterly ridiculous self righteous bull crap I’ve ever heard.

You do whatever you want to do solo, but when you decide to group up with other people, you’re godkitten right I’m going to start telling you how to play.

Yeah. That’s not self righteous bull crap at all.

You know why i say that? because no matter how you try, in our day and age a game won’t be running 1-5fps and gw2 runs at ~10… its REALLY hard to not achieve better… I know for a fact this game which i haven’t even heard before the person who’ve posted this video will run at over 10fps because engine they’re using isn’t almost a decade old.

Might I suggest actually installing the game on a computer that meets the minimum requirements then?

Getting around 10 FPS would most likely suggest that there is issues at your end, rather than at the games end, since people are reporting up to 40-50 FPS even in big zergs.

No kidding. Or upgrade from his 56k modem. I tend to the 50’s. Having a bad time if I bottom out mid 20s in a zerg. Or maybe he meant himself when he was raggin on ppl who got their comps from bestbuy. And most of my settings are on high. You can do that with a liquid cooled quadcore, real vidcard, with 16 gb ram. (TB solidstate HD too, but not like that affects my connection). Hell, I know my choke point is my connection, it’s only isdn, but the cable ends a kilometer from the house and the cable company wont lay more this way. Still, avging mid 300k dl is good enough.

what exactly are you even talking about? wtf does a connection has to do with anything? I have 15down/5up or i was supposed to have over 100up to play this game at “i tend to the 50’s”? Do you even know how to monitor your fps before talking? Why do you even bring liquid cooling lmao and then you talk about “real vidcard”? what is this supposed to mean exactly? Are you playing on onboard gpu and get those amazing performances no one in gw2 is getting? get real and land on planet earth. Playing with an onboard ship and talks about fps while others have computers build for gaming…

Geez. I couldn’t possibly know how to check my FPS. It’s a classified state secret, don’tcha know?
I never said I had onboard anything. 50s, kinda means 50 frames per second. Spelled that out so your single brain cell could comprehend it. I have a rig built for gaming. board, to cpu, to vidcard, to monitor, to mouse. Just because you’re an idiot, who doesn’t grasp the concept of sarcasm, doesn’t mean the rest of us are. Those comments were all about various components of my rig, not just the vid. But as Peanut would say:

Why would ANET rig the election? They are the ones trying to collect data which character we want to see in the future.

It’s more about which fractal do we want to see in the future. Or are we so shallow that a WP discount can mesmerized us.

Like how Abbadon mesmerized that half of the population?

Well, not having played GW1, so don’t give a butt nugget for it’s lore, and not caring about fractals, so of my 8 toons, my highest one is a Magnificent Five, and not into buying lottery tickets….. guess WP is the only factor that matters.

Hmm. if i mail you 10 silvers (which is I think more than what you can save from WP discount), will you vote for Evon?

Considering I spend multiple time that in a single session. A single jump from one side of Tyria to the other being near 5 silver? Nope

Strawman argument is made of straw. Will save far kitten more then 10 silver over a month. Ppl making that specious argument are being deliberately obtuse. Just as they are by saying if they care about WP thye must be poor, or as a prev post said, have only 20s.

I’m only voting for Evon as i think he has better ideas than Kiel. Kiel doesn’t know anything about politics she should stay at the frontlines of the Lionguard as she is now

Lucien Razorbow says Vote for Evon

What the hell does “politics” have to do with anything. This isn’t like we have candidates who are going to be making laws and motions to affect how we play the game. It’s a mechanic to introduce one of two fractals and either cheaper keys or waypoints. One has better ideas, the other should stay on the front lines. Crap. This isn’t role playing that has a point in what this event is going to introduce into the game. And even if it was, people who ‘know about politics" are the ones who milk it for it’s corruption, while patting on your head for being a good little mark, like the politicians we actually have irl.

Except it was confirmed that which one you vote for will have far reaching consequences on future living story updates outside of “whichever fractal I think is awesome and the other one is kitten / kitten and mabie kitten ieherp.” So choose carefully who you vote for. Do you want the strait arrow or the business man to be deciding living story from now on, think about it and choose what you like best.

Neither one decides kitten. The devs do.

Removing JP or make them optional

in Living World

Posted by: Sleel.8365

Sleel.8365

So what other content type would you have replace JPs? More PvE mobs to easily gib? OMG that would be so boring.

Jumping Puzzles are supposed to be challenging. If you hate JPs it is because it is above your skill level. Heaven forbid you ever played Super Mario.

JPs as of late have been a great refresher IMO. They do need better rewards for the harder JPs at least.

Let’s get one thing straight. Achievement Points are meant to be difficult or take time to get. If you aren’t willing to challenge yourself you do not deserve to get achievement points.

“ACHIEVEMENT” -1. The act of accomplishing or finishing.
2. Something accomplished successfully, especially by means of exertion, skill, practice, or perseverance.

Hate them because they are boring as all kitten. And what you get for doing them isn’t remotely worth the time. Blue off a champ is a better reward ratio. And I HAVE done most of them. Doesn’t change the fact that I still despise them. Hating them doesn’t even remotely equate with them being “above the skill lvl” Assuming so, just shows you’re an kitten .

I think I missed the part where GW2 forces you to do things you hate. You hate JPs, don’t do them, who cares. I know I don’t.

If you need to do 1 mild JP to finish getting the Bazaar achievements and don’t want to because you hate JPs, then news for you: you don’t finish the meta. You aren’t forced to get the meta in order to play this game. If you want to finish it so you can get something you want, then you are forcing yourself to do something you hate, not Anet. You can just as easily look at the Quartz node and say “meh, whatever, I hate JPs, they don’t have a gun to my head”. Rather than “omg I hate JPs, but I want this Quartz node, nooooo, can’t. stop. hands. from. using. keyboard….curse you Anet, you are forcing me to do something I hate! Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!”

And where, pray tell, did I say to remove them? Hmmmmm. I was taking issue with the elitists snobbery, it seems you share, he was displaying that if you hate JPs it must be because you suck at them. Guess no one forces you to use your brain either.

I have little love for the asura. I spent to much time listening to their npc chatter. Josef Mengela would be proud of em. So loved seeing one get screwed, almost as much as I love their death screams in any given event. Killing Inquest is my vocation. That and the dredge. I sometime can’t decide who I hate more.

I think the server you’re looking for is Gate of Madness. We aren’t a “top tier” server for WvW, but we do have an active player base for it and we’ve been on this winking streak for the past 2 months, so you definitely won’t be let down. We’ve also got the largest PvE community of any server (larger than TC, and that’s from experience). People on GoM are generally pretty friendly, and I think you’d appreciate our community.

P.S: No WvW queues aside from the occasional 10-20 minute queue in EB that spans the hour that the West and East coast prime times overlap.

Yeah. The new matchup system seems to either have fired us up. Or been kind to us. But a winning streak, we are on. Dunno bout how it affecting tier rankings. I never look at that stuff. I dun care beyond if we are winning or not.

Now have a toon of every profession. 7 @ 80. Mostly solo. But not as much solo as I did with the thief. Pair with a guildie for funs more now. Doing kitten with voice chat and commenting on stuff, or saying it’s “all your fault” when ever I get attacked by a steam mech….. priceless. Well, don’t care about the wp thing myself. But one way they can make it easy to populate the various cities is to give us world chat. Ppl taking a play break congregate where they can talk. And you can only talk to the map you’re in. So…. LA since it’s the hub. This is the first mmo I’ve played where there wasn’t a worldwide chat tab. Makes no sense. Gates of Arah the New Lyssa

Sleel.8365

I am on one of the servers that farms this event (or attempts to) and in the guild that is usually responsible for starting it. I realize that for a lot of people it seems unfair that we ask them not to kill the giant, which in turn delays the opening of the Arah dungeon, but you need to take a minute to look at it from our perspective as well.

We’re a huge PvE guild that focuses on group activities. We were a large part of the other significant farm locations (Union, etc). Time and time again we’ve seen every viable farm location nerfed into the ground, leaving only CoF and CoE as steady sources of gold farming. And really, who wants to run one of those dungeons for the thousandth time?

So what do we do? We look for events such as this one that have high amounts of mobs to kill which drop good loot (bags, t6, rares, etc). When we find one we get our entire guild together, run the event through its pre-event chain, and start farming.

Unfortunately this event shows up on the gw2stuff world boss list for the High Wizard. So what happens is our guild puts a good hour into the pre events to start the farming, then as soon as it appears on the site tons of randoms show up to get their daily loot chest. They start auto attacking the giant and we kindly ask them to stop and farm with us for awhile or simply hop to another server if they’re looking to do Arah. But no, they instead tell us to kitten off and continue killing the giant.

So it goes both ways. We realize that this event more than likely isn’t meant to be farmed and that people want to complete it. But at the same time we’re the ones putting all the work into setting it up for us and others who want to farm. The giant will die in time from the NPCs attacking it, stray AOEs, and so on. Just give us our hour or two of farming before that happens

Yeah. They don’t want to farm CoE or CoF for the thousandth time. So they want to do Arah. Silly kittening them. Or you could take yourselves to some guest server and not lock up a dungeon for everyone else.

Farming =/= exploit.

If you want the dungeon open, just do it. Or you could be courteous and guest and leave them, but it doesn’t matter either way. They can’t stop you and there is no reason to try and stop them.

Or they could guest on a server. They don’t own a zone. They have no business telling people to not play their game cause they want to farm.

I think they are worth doing, but I’m not going to sit around and wait for them to happen. Instead, if I see one about to pop and I’m not doing anything else pressing at the time I might WP over and join in. Yesterday I got Final Rest from SB, and it took all of 5 minutes to complete. That’s the 3rd Final Rest that SB has dropped for me, so I find the reward/effort to be quite worth the time, and its not as if its ruining the other things I’d rather be doing since it only takes a few minutes.

Who waits? You just leave one of the websites that have the event timers for all the major events open and tab out and check em.

I do em all. If I don’t get something worth more then an ecto, I rip it up for ectos. Till I ascended my sclerite shell, and skinned to the Wind Catcher skin, I had over half a stack. Lots for my standards, but am not a farmer or intense dungeon runner, so low by others, I guess. So I’d say they worth doing too, not just at 80. Like some say. Gear up the alts with em. Can get costly doing that when you have one of each profession ;]

They’ll most likely replace MF gear with similar gear. For example, Explorer’s could be replaced with Berserker’s, Traveler’s with Rampager’s and Wayfarer’s with Soldier’s. The stuff that costs laurels could probably just be refunded.

That would be stupid. If you are running a second MF set why would you need a copy of what we already crafted? Just refund the matts making it costs. Crafting exotic sets ain’t cheap. Takes a bucket of ectos and mats. Heaven forbid you make a heavy set WITH jewelry. That is a kittenload of ori.

it just makes no sense to pull it we already have a bunch of silly final fantasy-sized swords (even though two of the major sword users — thieves and mesmers — suit more subdued weapons).

it was a simple and very beautiful skin that perfectly filled a niche and it saddens me they pulled it.

Yeah. We can’t have anything but mang-anime-tai weapons. Huge kitten things that wouldn’t know elegance or understatement if it walked up to them and kittenslapped them with rings on. Those are the truly rare weapons. I almost peed myself in glee when Ebonblade dropped on me. My ranger loves her sword. Tired of all the swords being hugeass monstrosities. Or escapees from porn vids. I’m looking at you aetherized sword and Violator-san sklerite shell.
Reskinned that to the Wind Catcher skin. Effects colour matches the elementalist’s hair.

I was part of the player base that tried their hardest to save city of heroes and it was worthless.. ncsoft didn’t care. They had already made their decision. No matter what you say and how much you beg for cantha, ncsoft won’t give anet permission to build it. I’d absolutely love to have cantha in the game, or even just ONE canthan district (Seriously… why is that too much to ask? What to do canthans in tyria do…? How do they preserve their culture?) but ncsoft has already decided how they want gw2 to be.

Read the book laying about in the Priory post in DR. Cantha closed their borders to the rest of Tyria leaving them to fight the dragons on their own. “To the mists with them” it said in the margins. So they preserved it by becoming isolationists.

Just saying that is what the bit said. Don’t really care one way or the other. Not having played 1, I don’t miss what I never saw. Same reason I don’t care about Abbadon’s frac.

Sometimes there’s no excuse for dying/getting downed. For example, I almost always state at the start of phase 2 on the Claw of Jormag fight for people to stay off the ice until the event text says he’s stunned, otherwise the deadly ice debuff will be applied to them and probably kill. Guess what? 10+ people end up dead on the ice repeatedly, and then ask in chat “wtf just happened?!!11?!”. Those are the only people I specifically don’t revive.

If you’re too ignorant/overconfident to follow basic instructions to avoid hampering your team, stay dead. Otherwise, I’ll gladly revive you as long as it won’t get me killed in the process :P We’re all human, we can all make mistakes.

Yeah. I can relate. I never go out on the ice to rez ppl. Just like I never rez ppl at Teq who can’t be bothered to roll out of the poison breath, then lay there saying ’rez plz", when it takes less time to wp and run back then it takes to rez from dead. Same thing happened today opening Lyssa. Ppl stand still, soak dps, and then lay there waiting for a rez when it would take 10 seconds to run back from the waypoint opened during the event chain, For That PURPOSE! I do regularly get ppl up from down.

If you can’t be bothered to dodge, get out of persistent aoe, rub two brain cells together…. I ain’t dying to rez you. WP and run back. Mind you, I do run support builds on my ele and guard, I do get ppl up alot and speed rez ppl in a group. I do NOT keep getting up ppl that keep doing The Same Dumb Thing. I earned my Combat Healer title the legit way, doesn’t mean I took a Hippocratic Oath tho.

My first toon is norn. I tend to make my “main” in a game to look like me, or as close as I can manage. Facially anyway. I sure aint build like a norn. Also, being Canadian, I like “northern” chars for “me”, as well. First 3 toons are male. Norn, charr, human. Rest are female; human, norn, norn, human, norn. Love them smexy norns. I may have a bit of a weakness for tattoos, and shapely thighs and strong backs, and….. posteriors.

Yeah. Still exploration to do. THe gold star just means you’ve found all the poi, hearts and waypoints. All the named “painted” areas still need to be found. Alllllmost got it. just one spot left in Maguuma I gotta find.

I still play lots of the stuff, Hit the chest events, do the occasional temple. NEVER pvp, I do some WvW. Don’t like any of the “legendaries” so ain’t wasting time there. Tho I hear they are makig new ones so maybe I like something from this crop. But since my tastes lean to the “understated and elegant” kinda stuff rather then the kitten waving garish manga ripoff stuff the devs drop on us like mana, I wont hold my breath (fave skins are the Norn weapons and I really like Ebonblade.) Done at least story on all the dungeons. Slowly working thru the paths, not a big crawler, but they fun nuff with guildies.
Am Master Crafter, with mats harvested myself, not TP, mostly anyway. Made lotta self crafted gear for the alts that, as I was lvling crafts, needed some inscription mats. Hard to come by em sometimes.

Have a toon of every profession. 4 norn, 3 human, 1 charr. 7 @ 80. New mez just hit 50. Rib a guildie about her asura since she had me help in his story. Now I know that the steam mech invasion are “all your fault” as I keep saying. Especially when in Larson Pass and getting attacked by em. “Oh look, a steam mech just attacked me……. all your fault.”

Kinda interesting seeing the different stories.

Try the lab in the south east corner of Metrica Province. There’s an event chain you need to complete to enter it. For a lot of people, that’s the last missing area.

Don’t mean the one to fix the asura gate to an old destroyer ruined lab do you? The one that the skritt have parts in their scratch for? Or diff lab? Been finding some of my “missing areas” are jumping puzzles I didn’t find, since I don’t look for them as I don’t like them. But will scry that area. Part of me is scared I’m gonna have to have my thief standing round with maps open, tabbing in and out of game comparing maps to the wiki.

I have one of every profession. in order: Thief, Guardian, Warrior, Necrocutie, Elehottie, Ranger, Engineer, Mez. I had made a mez before the necro, but hated it. Think it was in part a lot to keep track of, and I really, REALLY hated the human noble story and that putz that was her childhood friend. Did not take to him at all. Kinda poisoned it for me. She got deleted and Necrocutie replaced her. But mostly, think it was the wrong magic class for me to do first. Liking it just fine now with my little norn beauty. Yes, little. Short as the slider gets, barely taller then a human ;]

Just roll what rocks ya. If it dun float your boat, roll another. Or flip coins till you come up with one. :}

Evon Gnashblade was born with horns and fur.

Ellen Kiel was born with swagger.

Blatant speciesism. People who support this type of thought (Kiel) has no place in Lion’s Arch.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all species are created equal.”

The reason Kiel is ahead is cus Evons bonus reward isn’t that great as it still makes us use more money. All my friends think that Kiel will reduce WP cost by 50% but im pretty sure it will be 10% max.

There is, unfortunately, one problem, and it’s increasingly evident the longer this discussion goes on. (Including talk about Braham and Rox, or Logan, or Caithe . . . )

What you might find interesting and fun some other people would find boring and cliche, or badly done.

Obviously, that’s with everything.

That doesn’t mean they can’t, or shouldn’t, try to create a character that’ll be likeable by as many people as possible. While not everyone may have liked Tybalt as a character, most people I’ve seen on these forums like him very much. Same goes for the other 2 Order mentors.
On the other hand, how many people actually like Trahearne as a character, vs how many people disliking him? Yeah, those numbers wouldn’t be pretty if it was possible to somehow get them. But the fact that this thread about disliking Trahearne has reached almost 500 posts, and is one of the largest threads in this section, should indicate that he’s not liked by the majority of the players (how many posts in here do you see people defending the character, really?).

Back to your point: That is why they shouldn’t make the player team up with the same one character for over half of their personal story. It’s not fun for those who don’t enjoy that character.

But on the other side . . . if the people like the character and he’s shuffled off rather quickly (someone mentioned Rytlock here) then it’s not satisfying.

As for:

But the fact that this thread about disliking Trahearne has reached almost 500 posts, and is one of the largest threads in this section, should indicate that he’s not liked by the majority of the players

Some people, like me, post here a lot either for or against him. This isn’t a “one post per person” poll. And I wouldn’t trust polls online anyway – I’ve seen them invalidated way too easily. I would think there are more people who do not care about Trahearne one way or the other, or people who would make fun of him . . . than those who actually actively hate him.

A few posting many times isn’t an indicator of popularity, anymore then stuffing the ballot box is.

Is it just non-sylvari who dislike Trahearne? In the Sylvari storyline, he shows up pretty early, offering advice and helping in later missions. I think the first time he’s introduced is in the second part of the personal storyline, but it might be earlier.

He just ends up flowing into the position of marshal, not stuffed into it.

And I like him better than Caithe. If you guys think Trahearne’s depressing, you should see Caithe…

I refer to him as “That Talking Celery Stalk”. With about as much personality and flavour. I recently wondered what he tastes like as a salad, or in a stew. I like celery in stew/soup, even tho I hate it raw. If we made soup out of him, I’d finally be able to say I like him.

Calling him monotone and dull is insulting to monotone and dull people. Sawdust has more personality.

I personally really hoped they were setting up Traherne to be another Pale Tree type thing. He sacrifices himself to cleanse Orr, and becomes a tree similar to the Pale Tree that gives life to the country again. Was actually very disappointed with the actual ending.

I’m fairly certain there’s a better reason for that than “we’re bringing him back again later for the next story arc”. I’m also . . . fairly certain he will get a heroic sacrifice later on. I can see no other end to his story arc if it’s intended he be a hero alongside the player and Destiny’s Edge.

I suppose another end could be him being killed off to prove a future opponent is very seriously deadly, but I think that could be a colossal waste of the character.

And how, pray tell, would killing him off prove an enemy was seriously deadly? When your average trash mob can take him out?

SB is good. Poison field and trick shot thru it poisons multiple enemies. Like above guy said. Mine is a D/D SB thief. Always moving, always dodging, poison with bow, in out strike dance away, singing “Can’t Touch This” to myself. Heart seeker is NOT a magic bullet. Can’t offer tips on stealth. I’m a mobility/evade thief, I hardly use stealth. Can trait for extra init and init regen on evade, but that come later on.

Move your dodge to mouse thumb or a preferred key. Double tapping a movement key takes to long, and gets you killed in places you don’t want to be dodging as well, when all you are trying to do is take careful steps.

Am rusty tho. Have been lvlin many alts, haven’t been on me thief as much lately, so am definitely forgetting something.
