End Game NPC errors

Just killed Zhaitan last nite, and decided to talk to all the NPCs. I came across a couple of errors where the NPC’s text lines were swapped with someone else. Attached is the funnier of the two.

Either it’s an error, or Quaggans evolve into Grawls in GW3.

Negligence

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294

Smooth Penguin.5294

This negligence you speak of isn’t on the part of Anet. And for a lot of players, it’s not their fault either. As it has been post over and over and over, through Redit, FB, the offical website, blog, etc, account information was farmed via outside sources/websites/forums.

Is it Anet’s fault that hackers have a huge list of e-mail and password combinations? No. Is it Anet’s fault that these same hackers are testing said combinations with the game? No. If the combination doesn’t match to an existing or non-existing player, the hackers move on to the next entry on the list.

And BTW, Beta and the Live Game are two different things, as Beta accounts were wiped.

I really think you need to stop digging your hole deeper. You QQ over and over again that you are not claiming to be “entitled” to anything. And in the same breath, you say the Reqs are too dang high.

en·ti·tle·ment
3: belief that one is deserving of or entitled to certain privileges

“request for reduced requirements” = “I really want that Legendary to be easier attained than the current stated requirements because everyone should have access to such awesome items and I’m a casual player so I’m being punished so don’t blame me but make the game easier” (note: intentional run-on sentence)

Next on the list, you QQ that GW2 said there is no grind, but there is! Perhaps you should re-read my previous statement on this. Aw heck, I’ll copy-pasta it for you: “And just a side note on “grinding”. It exists in this game. Do you have to do it? No. Is it required to completed the game? No. Is it required to have fun? No. Anet succeeds in these aspects. But how dare Anet put in rewards to players who do make extra effort to “grind” for the good stuff.”

Grinding exists. But Anet made it so YOU AREN’T REQUIRED TO DO TO HAVE FUN. You choose to want to grind (by way of wanting a Legendary), but then get mad that you made that choice. If you don’t like it, don’t do it. But… you’re forcing yourself to want something that you can’t get, therefore you displace your self inflicted anger on the MMO. Bottom line, don’t blame Anet.

Lonewolf… take a deep breath, relax, and then admit that you feel entitled to something, and everyone here can stop facepalming.

Sorry, I normally pass over other stuff people post when I see something horribly wrong. Then I zone in on that one thing. So my apologies in advance, but I’m gonna do it again.

You are a casual gamer. Fine. I have nothing wrong with that. But then you say you are “punished” for your play-style because God knows you REALLY want a Legendary, but just can’t (and in some people’s cases won’t) make the effort to go for it?

I REALLY wanted to be a doctor, but I’m being punished because I have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet.

I REALLY wanted to get to level 80 first, but I don’t have enough friends to feed me mats to craft with. How dare the game punish me for being anti-social.

I REALLY want to buy a GSR, but my wife won’t let me. I’m being punished for being married (had to throw that one in to amuse the wifey).

Nothing in life comes easy, whether it be real or in game. The simple fact that you wish it were easier to get a unique weapon skin, and argue that you can’t put in the hours to farm the reqs, indicate that you feel a bit entitled to it as a paying customer.

Do you see where I’m going with this? You feel you should get the item. Me too! The item is there in game. Anet made requirements to get it. Now it’s the players’ choice to pursue the requirements, or not. Simple. If you want to spend money to buy Gems, then convert to Gold, so you can afford to buy the base Exotic weapon and mats to craft a Legendary, you can. Nothing is stopping you. But you do have to put effort into getting certain tokens that make up the sub-reqs for the Legendary.

And just a side note on “grinding”. It exists in this game. Do you have to do it? No. Is it required to completed the game? No. Is it required to have fun? No. Anet succeeds in these aspects. But how dare Anet put in rewards to players who do make extra effort to “grind” for the good stuff.

Seriously. mangarrage makes some good points, and you should listen to it. I’ll try to simplify the arguments so you can understand, since you contradict yourself in your post.

1) Legendary weapons are OPTIONAL.
2) Legendary weapons are purely COSMETIC (save for the tiny increase in damage output).
3) Legendary weapons are meant as rewards for putting time and effort into the “grind” to make them.
4) If Anet made it available for everyone in the Gem store, lots of people would have them, thus reducing the “awe” factor. At the same time, people would QQ that only rich players could afford it.
5) You say it’s not about entitlement, yet you go on to say it takes so long to get. Thus, you just told everyone that you feel Anet should make it easier to get (as you feel Entitled to it).

This game is for everyone. Hardcore players, casual gamers, and the mix of people in between. Think I’m gonna stop and stare at someone whacking me with Twilight in WvW just because he has a cool looking weapon? No. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that someone put effort to gain something so unique. I’ll congratulate the dude who kills me if I notice his weapon.

BUT… there will always be the player who QQs. Why can’t I get all the good stuff? Why do I keep dying when I Leeroy into mobs? Why does it take effort to get a Legendary? Why am I complaining about grinding when I’m the one who chooses to do so?

It seems the OP doesn’t care about the game itself, but rather being with friends. I can respect that, but don’t be complaining about wasting money. GW2 can work perfectly fine for you, just that you choose to not want to play. That’s no fault of Anet.

As Gaile mentioned, transfers are free still. People are constantly moving around, so it might not be so bad to select a low-pop server, and transfer later. If you request for a refund, or do a chargeback, you may get a “black mark” on your account (should you choose to buy the game again down the road).

Auto attack function is to enable active players to attack easier while kiting around. Yes RMT are abusing this by AFKing near event spots. Anet must have some mechanics to auto detect this, so I’m not surprised by your banning. However, they also have access to logs, and can see what you were doing, for how long, and what the profit was (coins, items, xp, etc.) Submitting a ticket is your best bet to getting back in, since you can argue your merits directly with Anet, and not random public in the forums.

My God… so much QQing over simple competition. I undercut people, and will continue to do so, as long as the price remains higher than the current WTB price. If there isn’t room for much price variance, I’ll just take whatever people are offering to make a quick coin. Such is life in the business world.

>Allow sellers to lower their prices for free

I can see this an a valid idea, on the condition that the initial listing fee stays the same. But keep in mind that if this were allowed, it would cause problems with the marketplace. People would just constantly undercut each other over and over (even in real time with market campers), thus ruining the in-game economy. Buyers would LOVE it, but item values would plummet in a price war, and that’s never good for both sides.

My suggestion for those who don’t want to get undercut: Sell to the highest offered price. That’s instant. If you want to make more money and post on the open market, realize it’s a slight gamble once you post. Undercutting is a legit tactic.

And no I’ve never played EVE.

It would seem that you support players making bad decisions? Do you blindly give your creditcard information to random people calling your phone, asking for donations to save that mysterious Nigerian prince in jail?

Scam prevention starts WITH THE PLAYER. If you don’t want to use the Trading Post as the official marketplace, and would rather take the chance with total strangers via the Mail system, by all means go for it. But if the transaction falls apart, don’t be flooding Anet with trouble tickets for your failure in judgement.

You wanna know what the true bottom line is? Stupidity costs you Gold. Listen to Gaile and the other players who shake their heads each time someone plays the victim card. One way to look at it is to imagine this as a real life transaction on the streets. If a homeless lady tells you she has a $50 deal for a good time, would you pay her? And if you get arrested because the lady was an undercover cop looking for “Johns”, think they’ll let you go for “poor judgement”? I would love to have a real life place to submit trouble tickets for this, because I would work there part-time for the LOLZ.

The issue is indeed the players. There are some who feel like they should be entitled to uber weapons because they paid for this game. Some will want the status of having an uber weapon, but is too lazy to make the effort to hunt it, thus QQing that the reqs are too high. Kinda like someone wanting to be a doctor, but doesn’t like school.

Then there are those who try to use the “they said they took away the grind in GW2, yet you have to grind for Legendary Weapons” argument. These people forget than grinding is by choice. So if they feel “forced” to spend months hunting mats for a Legendary Weapon, they can only blame themselves.

Have you not been reading everything Anet posted on FB, Tweets, login page, on their Wiki page, etc? Hackers got a hold of information mined from outside sources, and are testing them against Guild Wars 2 accounts. They mention a boat load of attempted logins with e-mails that aren’t registered.

BUT, you are getting e-mails from Anet because the hackers found an e-mail/password combo that worked… and it happens to be yours. That means they know the password to your account. Change the passwords for not only your account, but your e-mail as well.

I can confirm Anet did replace my items from the DDE after I deleted them on headstart day 1. I filed a ticket a little after that, and had to wait until last week or so. My apologies if someone brought it up, because this thread was tl;dr. :P

You can have the most secure PC, but if you’re wireless, someone nearby could be using a packet sniffer. Or worse (and probably more rare), is that your hard line connection could be tampered with, and someone could be seeing your data. For cable internet customers, it’s not hard to piggyback off of a neighbor’s line if you know which connection to tap into. Happened to me, and I only knew because I caught the guy next door trying to push the wiring back into the outlet. Cable company had to install a special outlet cover prevent break-ins.
