I do not think you read some of my previous posts, I know he is a troll (or at least appears to act like one) but he is still a human being (as far as i know, don’t think he is some weird AI) and I know that most people respond better to polite inquiry and the request for a decent conversation than they do to vehemence and calling them a troll.

Also, please read my last post again. Nowhere in my post did I ask for his build or even proof of whether or not he was a thief. I was simply speaking from my own personal experience playing a thief myself.

I agree with you that for the most part, the change to the thief class has been a good change. It made me start playing a D/D thief again and I am finding love for the build all over again because of the change to initiative. I also agree with you on the S/x change for IR because my secondary thief (for when I get tired of my main) uses S/P as her primary weapon set. In a previous post, I begged Anet to not nerf IR and gave my reasoning why.

I don’t really know if it is working . . . but . . . i think is not possible that the percentage can be shown in the stats because it is circumstantial.

You must hit in the back or side of your opponent to work, and there are no fields in the status windows to show this.

It would be good if a dev could let us know if it is working as intended.

You know i don’t even play much S/D, probably i do more S/P, but i find also that this cast time nerf is . . . well a !@#$%.

S/D was not even that good even before 10 dec.

Is a hard profession to play but it is also super fun to play.

What i can tell you is that most of the eles i kill easy is because they run glass builds.

They hit hard but most of the times when they fail their main skills (like the fire one that hits like a god) they get very vulnerable.

There are some kind of balanced eles that i just can’t get close to kill.

1 week ago i was dueling a guy in the mill that i could not win a single time, he was more tanky, suddenly a lot of might and hits me very hard.

SoleciTO, If only you could hear me on TS. There is much kittening to be had about “those kitten thieves”. I know the build you are talking about and it’s the aforementioned PU build that seems to be the meta for roaming builds ATM. Granted, you can win fights and it is the one build I feel confident enough to go up against any class, however I just feel likes it’s too easy mode and frankly more of a troll build.

Well then you can imaging how we feel that we only have 1 real viable build to survive (D/P) in WvW and we only kill bad players or low lvl characters.

People love to say that permastealth is cheesy.

Now think about that build from mesmer . . . you just say it . . . it is cheesy.

Actually all the profession has builds called cheesy . . . because people is confusing.

I don’t know much of mesmer but i can tell you that there is a build with a lot of stealth and teleports while the clones applies conditions that is almost impossible to kill . . . at least to me.

Thief and mesmer is all I’ve played so far. And yes, mesmers are a pain in a lot of ways.

But I spar a lot with people who can absolutely tear me apart. It’s all gameplay experience. With mesmers success depends on learning to read the tells and pick the player out from among the distractions. Practice doing that by watching behavior and even spectating other fights.

Yes, experience is the most important . . . but condi stealth mesmer whit a good player is almost impossible to win.

They just teleport, stealth, blocks a lot!, to me is the hardest build to fight on mesmers.

I would love also see than anet gives a time duration buff to Area Stealth (smoke field and shortbow combo).

Since we are not going to be able to chain it we could get a buff to keep that support to our parties.

I hope anet consider o change their meta where all you have to do is to go tanky and spamm conditions.

They have a great chance to do cool stuff this dec 10, i just hope they don’t disappoint the community that basically asking to focus on real fight skill and not spamming things with passive support skills with no risk or punishment on mistakes.

Want a lot of things but IMO the next 3 things will improve a lot the SPVP game experience:

- Deatchmath mode: the first team winning X matches.
- Dueling mode: 1v1, the first with no hp lose.
- GvG Deathmatch: Same as deathmatch but only members in the same clan can suscribe.
- LoL game mode: Conquering enemy bases until you destroy his lord.
-Templates: i will love to have this, encouraging players to test new builds.

Why would I stand in the aoe ? To defend a node maybe ?? If I lose the node , I lose at least 15pts while fighting in and out of combat . A class that can’t sustain a fight has no place in PvP . And if I go in stealth , I lose the point aswell.

I will wait till anet decides to do something about thieves, until then I"ll facerolll on my warr. And I never said if you do WvW you are bad , it’s just not the same situation in PvP. Wvw thieves can pretty much kill anything with 110% crit dmg \food\buffs . It may even be too strong in wvw. But in PvP nope, the only good build is S\D and it’s based on evades\teleports only. They need to make more traits and weapons for stealthless thieves.

If thieves are bad taking AOE damage is fine for me and for others.

Maybe the role of the thief is not made to cap, maybe it is focused to decap and kill fast.

Maybe the problem is that there only one game mode in SPVP.

Maybe the beautiful thing about MMO professions is that they are different and people can select what are they going to good at.

This thing that people has that want their profession to do all the other does.

Is the same in WvW when people QQ because a thief stealth and scapes. Is the only one thing that is actually good at and they still complain.

The problem is not stealth . The real problem is that stealth is too important for thieves > blind on stealth , regen on stealth , condi removal on stealth , init gain on stealth . But while stealthed you can’t contest a point and still vulnerable to aoe and conditions spam. Thieves have no chance in a team fight because of the lack of sustain .

It would be possible to achieve balance if everything wasent built around instagib 1. singletarget . That’s why it’s hard to balance thief class , it cant do anything besides from 1v1 , and even in 1v1 cant survive AoE.

A lot more accurate now.

About stealth a stupid mechanic . . . LOL

Clones are stupid?
Complete mitigation of damage is stupid?
Insane passive healing is stupid?
Second health bar is stupid?
Mist forms to evade all is stupid?

This forum seems to be full of people that went to WvW walking alone to get achievements and got killed by a roamer thief.

The problem is that at begging of the game thief was in a very good position and a lot of QQ came to this forum make in us until now that it is OP.

Stealth will not disappear ever, deal with it.

YOU as a thief must stop saying there is something wrong about stealth or evades.

They are our defense mechanics and is what make this game great . . . it will be a hell boring to all run mitigation skills.

There is nothing wrong with stealth when we have clones, turrets, 0 damage mitigation, stability, perma boon, insane healing, etc, etc etc.

Yesterday i saw a roaming thief, engineer, and ranger, all three were up levels, and all 3 were invaders. i quickly dispatched this group using my thief techniqes… the had to die because they were uplevels and Aulmd (all up levels must die).

ANYWAY that same day, yesterday if you havent been keeping up, i saw a roaming group of 3 NON up levels, guardian, warrior, and mesmer. I quickly dispatched mesmer because AMMD (all mesmers must die) and was unable to actually kill the guardian andwarrior.

I was unable to kill them because they weren’t noobs! If they had been noobs though i wouldve been able to kill the whole lot

They keep spamming conditions like nothing and also teleport and stealth very often.

You know i would kill to see a 1v1 tournament with the best of each professions.

I know that the differences would be huge.

Every profession should be good at something:

Guards: tanking-supporting
Warrios: Balanced DPS and tank.
Ranger: Ranged Damage
Necromancer: CC and conditions
Thief: opportunist
Engineer: A mix of all

But this days seems some profession have it all.

This video is a perfect evidence of how unfair anet is balancing the things.

This video prove that with a warrior:

1.- A clicker can rule in a big fight.
2.- You can walk in the middle of the fight with an AOE damage fest like nothing.
3.- You can bring a lot of sustain CC and AOE damage.
4.- You need 1/4 of the skill that requires a thief, engi, ele, mesmer to play.
5.- Don’t need to worry of reacting fast, there is almost no punishment to mistakes like a bad evade or escape skill use.

And trust me when i say this . . . i don’t ask to nerf warriors i’m happy that they enjoy this meta, i really do, but ANET must stop this no sense thief nerfing and consider this next dec 10.

It is just anoying the need to purchase another single piece every time we want to transmute because we dont want to lose the previous skin.

have you ever tried the tanky condition thief build? you know thieves do have tanky builds, but they still have stealth and everything to get away un harmed while having way to many evades, a lot of aoe bleeds and cripples, and not to mention an elite that hits everything on a 90 second CD.

The first video is against really bad players . . . that bad that they don’t even know how to step out of a caltrop area!! . . . he never in the entire video is in the middle of a big zerg AOE damaging and CC AOE all with no dying.

The second video is one of the best thief in the game killing bad players teaching us just the mechanics.

NONE of this videos has a thief in the middle of a zerg AOE damaging and CC the enemies having fun like nothing is happening.

The difference is that in those videos the thief is a really good player no clicking skills and timing perfectly with no mistakes against low lvl bad players.

Show me a video with a thief killing good players 3v1 and i will give you the reason.

Show me a video with a thief clicking skills killing 3v1 and i will give you the reason.

Show me a video of a thief in a middle of a big zerg spamming CC and AOE damage without dying in 3 seconds and i will give you the reason.

have you ever tried the tanky condition thief build? you know thieves do have tanky builds, but they still have stealth and everything to get away un harmed while having way to many evades, a lot of aoe bleeds and cripples, and not to mention an elite that hits everything on a 90 second CD.

show me the video of the hammer warrior beating a thief in a 1v1 fight. d/p or not.

The first video is against really bad players . . . that bad that they don’t even know how to step out of a caltrop area!! . . . he never in the entire video is in the middle of a big zerg AOE damaging and CC AOE all with no dying.

The second video is one of the best thief in the game killing bad players teaching us just the mechanics.

NONE of this videos has a thief in the middle of a zerg AOE damaging and CC the enemies having fun like nothing is happening.

Give me a break man if you are going to argue be real.
